Quote from: NayI think Potatis is on to something about the clarity now.  I'd used it without success, probably a expectation as he says.

I'm on to a lot of things! I want you all to know that I'm on to all of you! I know what you are UP TO!!! Watchout!    <sigh> , I don't sound scary.

Nay, do you have problems with sight in the RTZ sometimes? Or just used to? Or NEVER?

It never ceases to amaze me the funny things you do in your OBEs, Sarah. You just love to experiment and explore. Standing in the middle of the road to have cars go through you? LOL ... Sticking your head in the TV, and looking around? Hugging trees... What was that thing... you know..?.. with the monkey?    Yeah there's more too, and lots more I wouldn't even know about!

I can understand things happening the way they do if you have expectations, but I wonder why you have problems with your sight? I thought that might be more of a beginners problem, that would be no problem once you learned how to do it. Actually, you never said it was a problem, I guess it didn't matter at all. You knew where you were. It seems blindness can happen anytime even to experienced projectors. I know you have said "Clarity Now!" is useless for you. (Is that an expectation?). I guess if you reached for the light switch and turned it on, that you'd expect the darkness to turn into light. Perhaps you've tried this though, and it didn't work. So you went and put your head in the telly.

Well, this was very interesting.  :D

In a previous post:

Quotemy arms tend to be the first things out in nearly all of my OBEs

This post:

QuoteI felt my legs go, then my fingers and arms.

My point? None really, I'm just stalking Selski  :D  She started it... REALLY!

The idea of sending love to a plant in the physical is interesting. I never thought of that, and in the astral.... I wonder if there might be something else to do? What happens if you turn on the TV? Without sight, maybe it is better to just hug the plant.

When you have trouble going through doors and walls etc, do you expect to have trouble? Or do you break your nose every time? Could you see when you went to the oak tree?

Congratulations on having a great experience!

Sounds very frustrating. Do you say an affirmation along the lines of "I will remember all of this!" when you are out? It may just make you more aware of what is happening when you are projecting, and help you to remember.

Gee LaStella, it sounds like you are making extremely fast progress. I recently had my first (and only small) OBE after almost a year of trying.

Just keep trying, but don't try too hard! There's lots of information here in the forums. Read the FAQs and try searches for things you specifically want to know from the search link. The problems you had, and their solutions have been written about a lot so you won't have trouble finding information.

You've had a lot of success in a short time. Keep doing what you are doing! :-)

Congratulations Naovaaka!

It's a shame you feel those fears, it seems you had the energy to do so much more. Most people snap back to their body at the slightest thought of it. It seems you are blessed! Don't worry about getting back to your physical body, you'll always get back whether you want to or not. Just have a great time! :-)

Congratulations Bonden! Now that you've done it, it'll be easier next time! Keep it up! :-)

I've been where you are, milk.

Don't try so hard!

The thing that I started doing which turned it all around for me, was a thing Andali just said, and that is just "notice" what is happening, without ever trying to DO anything.

I saw Frank write that recently, and when I tried it, it worked first time. It actually has worked every time. It leads me into a kind of trance. I'd just lay on my bed, relax, and just take note of each little sensation or whatever that came along. I noticed my thoughts would drift away a little, and suddenly they'd snap back to wide awake. After several times of this, eventually I found myself floating. Take your time, and try it.

Keep a lid on your emotions as you do this. Surprising sensations occur, but stay relaxed and calm.

If this doesn't work, then try some of the other things Andali suggested.

I don't know why William Buhlman isn't mentioned more in these forums. I found his no-nonsense book "Adventures Beyond the body" to be very educational.

Hi Kevin!

Your signature is so right. Since you will always exist no matter what happens, there is nothing to fear. Those faces you see can't do anything to harm you. Remind yourself that you will always exist, no matter what, and I'm sure these scary things will go away. These faces are most likely your own fears anyway, so you are just scaring yourself! Stop that! Don't you have anything better to do?! :-)

If like attracts like, then you need to be positive before you go AP. If you do see anything scary, tell yourself that you are just scaring yourself and laugh at the scary thing you just created. You can do that when you are taking a leak at night too.

Hi Sarah!

Thanks for the reply! I'm pleased you like my avatar. It only took me nearly a year to get one. I'll put some thought into changing my signature. :-) I'd really be kidding if I said it was "easy". For now I shall say "try" until I change it altogether.

You said kind things about the way I'm going about the OBE stuff. Thanks! I feel that if I was familiar with a state, it'd be easier to go back to it again. Certainly after that first little OBE, it feels easier and faster to get the exit sensations. I'll let you know when I can actually wave my arms around with a big silly grin! Can the arms stretch? Like reaching the ceiling? I'd like to try that.

When you said you were astral in your physical body, and would lie there and think, was it easier to think? Did you have access to a greater consciousness? Or was it just a nice state for thinking. I remember you wrote you were unsuccessful when requesting to see a colour outside our normal spectrum, but have you tried other things in that state such as remote viewing?

Hey, do you know what really quickly made me feel floaty the other day? It was when after I was quite relaxed I thought that if I should float out of my body, I would request in front of me, a door that led to F27. I could visualise it in front of me, with F27 on it. That may seem ambitious at this stage, but almost immediately I became floaty in the arms and then the legs and feet. I thought maybe someone wanted me there. :-) But the floating arms and legs were so interesting, I thought I'd try the door thing another time.

If the door thing works, I'd like to try a door to F23 and do retrievals. First I must learn how to move and see. :-) Thanks for the reply!

Hello Everyone,

Last night I went to bed late, and very tired. I tried the OBE method that I have been using lately, which is the one that lead to my first obe.

In a short time I felt my arms lifting out of my arms, it was great. I'd asked Selski about this in the past, and read about other people's experiences of projecting limbs, and I couldn't believe I was experiencing it myself! Next to float were my legs. They were raised from my feet. My arms and legs really felt they had lifted. I could not however MOVE these floating arms when I tried. They felt as if they floated straight up, with my elbows still on my bed. (I was laying on my back).

I wanted to learn about this state, so I had no intention of going any further. I just wanted to know what would happen if I quickly opened my eyes and looked. Of course I saw nothing but my physical body, BUT, what interested me and surprised me was that the floating feeling did not suddenly disappear. I felt my feet, not my real feet, lowering slowly back down over a period of about 4 – 5 seconds. Even while I was looking! It was not a sudden snap back, or sudden disappearance of sensation. I would not have thought it would be like that. I could FEEL my feet and legs going down, and in my physical body, I could feel sensation in my legs as I felt these other legs lowering down inside. Has anyone felt it this way if they've done what I did? I would have thought if I were really floating, I'd snap back in a flash. But I could really feel my legs and feet slowly falling, as if deflating. I don't remember what happened with my arms. The feet and legs slowly lowering was a distinct sensation however.

After this, I decided to try a projection. I try to remove any emotion that comes to me when I try to project, and try to be as passive as possible. When I began to feel floaty I had a sense that rapid heart beats were about to come, and they started coming. I was trying to stop them coming by breathing slowly, and gently, and trying to prevent any feelings of excitement. I just wanted to be calm and relaxed. It did slow the heart rate, but also nothing happened when trying to project. Are rapid heart beats welcome, or unwelcome? I read in the sleep paralysis FAQ that rapid heart beats is a projection related sensation. Perhaps I should have encouraged them? Rapid heart beats though just focuses my attention to my physical body – my heart beat. It is distracting. Should I be encouraging rapid heart beats, but trying to ignore them?

That's enough questions for now. Thanks for any help!

Thanks Stone, and thanks RTCovenant for the congratulations!

RTCovenant, what happened in your OBE? You THINK you had one?

Hmm. You don't have to get the vibrations to have an OBE. With my one and only little OBE I didn't have vibrations, but did feel them mildly after returning to my physical body.

I have had the vibrations, VERY strong ones too, after doing relaxation, and nothing came of it. I couldn't project, and after a while the vibrations just died away.

Don't get too hung up on getting vibrations, just try again each day. BUT don't try too hard. My one and only OBE happened when I had no expectations whatsoever, and didn't try to do a thing except allow my body to fall asleep, whilst trying to remain just alert enough to notice anything that might happen.

When you had your OBE before, did you try hard, or did it just happen?

This was a very funny post.  :D

I'm very keen to read more posts by Oazaki in the future, this one was particularly hilarious.

Thanks everyone for your replies!

The butterflies came as I floated upwards. I seemed to float upwards quickly, that's when I felt the tickling in the tummy. I'm sure it was my physical tummy, and I think I felt my physical tummy beneath me rather than where my consciousness was, but I could feel both at once. Then I'd float gently back down. I experienced everything passively, I just let whatever was happening, happen. The only thing I did, after floating up, then down a few times, was decide that the next time I float up I was going to try to spin, and I did. I could really feel it. I spun myself a few times. But I did not attempt to see, or go anywhere. I just wanted to experience whatever happened.

I'm pleased the tickling in the tummy is common. After this little OBE, I felt I could have floated out again, my body had vibrations, but I was uncomfortable in my sleeping position, and needed to get up for a drink. Then it was time to sleep, otherwise I'd be too tired for work.

Yes, I'll keep at it. Thanks everyone! :-)

YES!

It might be boring to read about, because all I did was float up and down and spin around. I couldn't see a thing, nor did I try to! I was definately out, I could really feel it, I was floating and spinning, my mind was very alert! It was amazing! Now I must do MORE! I must SEE!

I kept floating in and out of my body, and felt butterflies in my stomach. Was I projecting from my stomach? Because it felt like my head and upper body was floating up until my body was at a standing or upright position, then I could rise further, and spin myself around if I wanted to. I did this several times, and had a funny butterflies kind of feeling in my tummy.

I have got the vibes a couple of times from this state, even as recently as last night from using the command "clarity now!". I know this sounds dumb but it worked. The first time I did this, I was deeply relaxed, my body felt asleep, my mind was alert, and for ages nothing happened. So I just said in my mind "Clarity Now!" just for the sake of it, and I felt a tingle. I thought this was strange, because I really (negatively) expected it to do nothing. So I said it again, and I got more of a tingling rush. I said it a third time and the vibes hit immediately through my whole body.

I know it seems a stupid command to bring on vibes, but "vibes now" didn't work for me, and clarity now DOES. It doesn't work every time, but it does work most times. It works when my body feels asleep, but my mind is awake. I can often hear myself snoring. I get stuck at the vibes. I can't seem to intensify them by will, or through breathing deeply. My body buzzes significantly, but it seems not enough to have an OBE.

"Clarity Now!" is worth a try, even if it doesn't work for you.

I experience exactly what Frank wrote in his last post quite often.

Just as often, I eventually "phase" into sleep. Grrrr. If I could just hold on! Sometimes I just lie awake for hours into the night, deeply relaxed, but alert, and nothing interesting happens. I can hear my body snoring sometimes, while I lay feeling alert. I don't think I quiet my thoughts enough. But my body is very difficult to move if I get sick of lying there and decide to quit and get some sleep.

I know... Try again. :-)

Welcome to Dreams! / Dream colours
February 16, 2005, 02:57:43
Hi Tyciol!

My Dream was very vivid, but I'm sure it was a dream, not OBE or AP. I live in Sydney, and it seemed I was looking at the harbour and the sky over Sydney Harbour, but the buildings around me and the harbour were nothing like the buildings at sydney harbour. I can't remember exactly what the colour scheme was of the buildings around me, but it was different to what we'd normally see. weird but very beautiful. It was like oranges, greens, yellows and blues. Not new colours I hadn't seen before, but used in a way I hadn't seen before. Like orange walls with green floor, and blue roof. That sounds yuck, and isn't quite what I saw when looking at the buildings, but it's an example of a weird colour scheme. I was more looking at the sky. It was more in the back of my mind, what the buildings and footpath (sidewalk) looked like.

I used to live in a small place far from any city, and I know how bright the stars can be at night. What I saw in my dream was nothing like that.

Imagine the sky dark blue all over, not just at the horizon. Then, instead of stars, it was like small points in the sky that kind of sprayed off sparkles like a sparkler... you know, like new year's eve sparklers, or fancy sparkling birthday cake candles. Only these tiny sparkles were all over the entire sky, sometimes swirling a little, but otherwise just sparkling all over. Tiny sparkles. As I was watching this, a very large passenger ship slowly passed by in the harbour, dimly lit by the dark blue sky.

It is one thing to imagine it, and another thing to "see" it so vividly, as if with my own eyes in the physical world. I felt filled with awe. I felt that what I was seeing was absolutely spectacular. I was curious to know if anyone has seen anything like it?

Selski, interesting you asked to see colours we normally don't see. Let me know if you ever see some! :-) I'm so curious!
