focus 2 is apart of Frank's model of consciouness.  Many people use it to refer to where they are located.  Frank's model also works out with Mr. Monroe's model fairly well.  I would say you ought to read some of either Robert Monroe's books or check out some of Frank's posts in the FAQ and in the permanent topics area.  But you're right it's hard to give you something tangable to say that aping, obeing, or phasing is something real... I think that's why people that have found it to be true for themselves ask others to try to find out for themselves and not just believe what has been said.  Anyhow more so Focus 2 is the area where your imagination, your dreaming and other related things all happen, this would also be where your lucid dreams happen.  There may be more to it as I can't say I know too much about what all of the focuses completely encompass.  But that's the general idea.  anyone else that can add more please do.

Hello,

I'm just kind of wondering how can you tell if a person in the non-physical is real or if it's simply your imagination making it up? or is it one of those things were you just know it from instinct?

Welcome to Astral Consciousness! / guides?

Hello all,

thanks for the replies... like I said before I'm open to listening to anything about the topic.  I've never seen this sense of guides as mystical... I don't know very much about the mystical side.  Just what I read on this forums.  I became interested in this from reading Mr. Monroes books and he said that he had guides and in the later ones realises he was his own guide at a previous time.  I don't know whether I need one or not, I think I'd like to have someone fairly consistant to talk to from time to time, I think even if I'm talking to a later me, atleast I'll be friendly enough to have a conversation with myself.  :) And saying this I can't say I've been able to meet anyone in the non-physical.  I simply have just begun trying to phase or obe or astral project which ever terminology you use... it only seems to me it's all different names for the same thing and each "way" is kinda the same in that you can go to the same "places" or focuses.  But maybe I'm completely wrong since I've only been around this for the past 6 months on a very regular basis.  I've read of what other people have thought about guides here and whether I need one or not they seem like good interation with non-physical beings and I would like to meet beings, that's probably a majority of the reason I'm interested in non-physical exploration to meet people in "places" like F3 and F4.  or which ever other terminology other people use for something like that.

James S, I'm not sure I understand how you talk to your guides.  I see what you said.  But I don't see how you can distinguish between your own mind and what would be another being.  I does seem though that you are talking or communicating to someone else.

Frank- I'm sure I read not to long ago that you said there were a few beings that you communicated with a few times... you said in F3 and you called them guides before.  If you don't think this now... Do you think that this topic is simply not relevent?

I can see that I have a few of my own belief constructs from being around for this time, (which I'd like to say that I would like to keep as objective of a view point as possible so that I can find out what is and not what I make it to be) but that would only be because I have not been able to build up my own knowledge from first hand yet but I'm working on trying to be able to.

Once again thanks for the replies and sorry if my reply is too long :P.  I'm still open to hear anymore that people would like to say on this topic.

seems like well researched info, could be the trigger for John titor's civil war... but I don't really know just speculation and thinking about something I know little about except 2nd or 3rd hand knowledge.

if I may step in... where do you find all of this... is there a website you deem looking out to find such ideas?

I think the focus levels are kind of a "road map" in a manner of speaking.  take a look at the FAQ section or the permanent section.  look for the F10s F1,F2, F3, and F4s

they're really words to just label where you're at in a broad area.

thanks for the replies... I've asked this because well, I'm looking for some one to help me along, a guide.  I think I'll look into those books.  any more opinions or experience would be nice to hear though.  I'm open to listen.

Hello

I'm always asking questions I know... I hope you all just bare with me.  How many of you have experience with meeting with guides of sorts?  anything interesting about them?  I'm interested in trying to contact or talk with mine.  How do most people go about that? In F2, F3, while obing, while astral projecting... or perhaps just normally someway.

Thanks

they're just sign posts or something to be able to objectively place yourself at a focus.  They're probably not important in label.  They're just concept to help "locate" yourself if you will.  I would say look in the FAQs or permanent topics if you'd like to see what certain ones are supposed to represent.

Hello,

Welcome and good luck with your surgery. I'm sure you'll be just fine.  I understand you want to be able to project.  I feel alot the same way.

thanks for the reply,  I'm afraid that's not exactly what I'm asking... you may  still know about what I'm asking.  I know that in the physical we have hearing, sight, touch, taste, and smell.  I've heard other mention extra senses that we have in more "astral" or non-physical focus.  So I was wondering what people have identified them to be.

I do appreciate the reply, I was waiting.

hello,

I think I found which post you're talking about Frank.  I know this goes a little off of my own topic but from my learning this I seem to be able to do F1/F2 overlays with some ease... not complex F2 environment or anything.  Is the noticing idea that you talk about Frank, is that the way to lose the F1 and focus more on F2 and other areas?  or are the rundowns a better way?

wow, I wished I had known this when I started trying all of the phasing and such a few weeks ago.  I think this will start more investigation.  curiosity, how do you get from F3 from this point in F2?

I realise that it is a place with no space, and it only seems to be behind my brain... I suppose it could just be the way it works. However this doesn't seem completely logical.  I think this is where I go to dream.  I'm not real lucid in dreams and I only have started discovering this feeling of separation between the brain and that part of the mind so my own observations are limited to a few weeks.
#69
Hello,

Does the imagination reside with in the brain it self or somewhere else?  Because as of late when I've tried to project and tried to see places as it were I realise that this image and place that I see doesn't seem like it's in my brain but rather behind it.  Since I've been trying phasing what I've thought recently is this place "behind my brain" is possibly the place you want to come in phase with and leave the brain and it's physical components behind.  Is this what other people do? Because if so then this is why I keep feeling my physical getting a little in the way because I can see the place within my mind or the place that seems to be outside of my mind and yet within my head some how this seems like F2.  Am I wrong in this assumtion?

I don't know if it would have been appropriate to post this with the thought post below it...

I was thinking about phasing... not even close

I guess they are normal... I'm not sure how many people see them... I haven't really asked.  One of my friends said they were Auras... but I'm not really sure it that is what they are... I'm just as curious to find out what they are as you are.

Hello,

Welcome to the forums.  Those shapes and patterns you speak of are some what familiar to me as well... I'm *not* sure I understand what they are myself.  sorry somethimes I think what I'm going to write and forget words in the process that end up making it completely different :)

Hello,

I read Major Tom's post it was either in the FAQ or the permanent topics... but I'd like to hear more if any one has more time to explain.
#74
you can still meet with these other focuses as you say Frank?  Would that be possible in F3?  It doesn't really matter if it's not me.  Can just about anyone that has died be found in F3 or do most people then shift past that?
