I think that idea that Kurzweil mentions on his website, about reverse engineering the human brain, should give us significant insights into AI.
Welcome to the Astral Pulse 2.0!

2) "the colors are in between based on how much light is reflected" - no, not how much, but rather what wavelength of.
3) "UV rays do NOT carry heat" - they do. double check your info please. UV rays are photons as much as other photons. hence they have energy.
QuoteIn the UK we learned the hard way, via Oliver Cromwell etc, that you do NOT mix religion and politics otherwise you are going to have problems; so we are shocked by the constant use of religion by US politicians as this goes against the grain with us.The way the US is going is a worry - as much for the journey back towards conservativism on most issues as with religion. Bio-conservatisim, concerning stem cell research and the like, is a Nazi-like nightmare. Even more worrying from my perspective is that Australia likes to copy whatever the US does. There is already some evidence of it with the rise of a 'Family First' party created by a bunch of churches and the outright banning of human cloning. NOoooooooo!!
QuoteSince then, mathematics has grown to be a more successful model of explaining reality. Probably the only reason spirituality seems to stick around is because we're afraid of deathExactly, its a comfort for people in their powerless state. It's a way of dealing with those things we are the victims of : disease, death, poverty. If science manages to solve these problems to, spirituality either disappears or it gets reduced to 'explaining' the things that we are still ignorant of (if anything).
QuoteThe problem with the spatially limited universe theory is the notion of implausible spatial confines. There is, literally, nothing beyond the universe. It doesn't expand "into" anything.
Let's say that the universe is spatially limited. In due course the question comes to mind: "what is beyond the universe"? Or "what is the universe expanding into?" Next we can say that it is expanding into another universe. But then, someone will surely ask: "where is that other universe expanding into?" And so the questions become redundant as the result materializes as theoretically infinite exponentially expanding universes.
QuoteThe problem with the spatially unlimited universe theory lies in Zeno's paradox. If we state that the spatial volume of the universe is infinitely large, therefore it must be infinitely small too. However a philosophical problem arises with this notion. Zeno's paradox states that from observational reality the notion of matter being infinitely small is unsustainable. Quoting from the site, a runner for example who must run a 100m race must face 1x100m. Or we can express this mathematically as 2x50m, or 4x25m ect. However if matter is infinitely small then we can continue making the number of meters that we are multiplying smaller. If this pattern continues it is evident that the runner will never reach his destination.
QuoteIf there is an absolute smallest particle (such as an atom) that is no further reducible then obviously there are an increasing number of *atoms* in the universe as it expands. This is true in my opinion because as the universe is expanding now but matter is not being "stretched" as such, rather new matter is materializing. This would explicate the problem of all existing matter being condensed down to the size of a pea as the additional matter would simply no longer exist.
QuoteWave pattern? Screw it, there's nothing saying we can't have both spirituality and materialism.Good point.
QuoteDo you think in the dark ages when people were starving and had nothing that they were spiritual? They didn't have time, they had to kill each other for food. Any visions they might have had were inspired by hunger.People look back at these time periods with a kind of romantic nostalgia, when in fact these were dark, barbaric times where the vast majority lived in poverty and misery.
QuoteActual separation into the RTZ, which is what you are probably referring to, I would locate at focus 21. From focus 21, it also possible to 'phase' into the 'astral'.
