Hey Wisp...

I was worried that might not make sense.. lol.. It may be one of those stories where you just have to have been there, and likewise I may not be doing a good job of telling it.

But whatever the case - I can add this.. which may not make sense either.

Tips on meeting one's self.

Quote
If you ever find yourself walking down a highway and a man pulls up beside you in a white pick-up truck and offers you a ride, you better get in the truck with him. - He's likely to be the only one who believes ya..

Likewise, if you ever find yourself driving down the highway in a white pick-up truck, and you see a fella' walking down the side of the road with a lot of feathers sticking out from behind his ear, you better pick him up. - He knows where you're goin.

Hey Wisp...  - Thanks for the feedback.   :)

I suspect (if you havn't already :D  ) you answer the door to yourself...and...answer phone calls from yourself.

You remind me of a visualization I had one time.

In it I'm looking through the eyes of my inner child.  There is a football game going on.  Only 3 seconds are left to win.  It's the Superbowl of Superbowls.  I'm playing quarterback.  Oddly I realize that I'm the only one on the field who can catch the ball. - The ball is snapped.  There is a paradox.  The mind stops.  Then all of a sudden it came to me."

The moral of the story?

"It's a game.  In the end you spin a football."

Welcome to Dreams! / Double Three

Hey Scarecrow..   :)

I'm in Mississippi.   I was born here - spent about 15 years in Florida after school - and then returned a few years ago.  However, I don't think I'll stay here too long.  I'm not sure where I'll go next, but the mountains of North Carolina are kinda on my m ind.

Also, as per the vows  I'll be glad to tell you whatever you'd like to know.  You could say it was the culmination of a pilgrimage I took after receiving a realization experience.  The Garchen Institute and the Arizona desert actually wound up being my Meca.

Hey ya, Scarecrow..

Thanks for the post.  And yes, that is something else to think about.

I'm 41 - single - and have never had children, although that's not a deliberate choice and not a result of having not married.  In fact, I've married 3 times.

First wife didn't want em - second marriage was really a hiccup (very short) - and the third wife couldn't have them.

Having not had any I'm sure there is a love I don't fully understand.  I believe my friends when they tell me how it changes them, but I'm aware that I can only imagine how they feel.  I'm not realizing that personally.

If God wanted children for me I'd surely be open to it.  But with three marriages (and three divorces) behind me now plus being 41 I've just grown accustomed to the idea that children weren't supposed to be in the cards for me this time around.

Who knows though? - Game's not over yet..

Thank you!

I've read two books on Kabbalah now and I think I found more information in your answer than I did in any one chapter of either of them.  I also see there is a good bit of information online about  "Pardes Rimonim."

I'll be looking into that next.

Deep Bows..   :)

Hey David...

In that I know so little about the 32 Paths I'm not really sure I can answer.  Studying Kabbalah (the tree of life) is something rather new to me.  As such,  I'm still learning the basics.

Conceptually, however, it seems logical to me to focus on Jewish Kabbalah since they were the ones who came up with it.  My thought is that if the Christians came in afterward and somehow changed the original work to make it fit in with their philosophy that would be a degradation of the original work based on personal bias.   ( i.e. trying to force one's point to fit in an already established set of religious beliefs.)

However, again, I'm so new to studying it I still have a lot to sort out.

Hello Gang..  :)

Might anyone be able to give me a brief explanation of the 32 Paths of Wisdom?  Is each person supposed to be walking one of these paths spiritually?  Or do they just represent 32 different paths on the tree of life?  And if so, what distinguishes one path from the other?  Why would there be more than one path?

Then finally, if someone is familiar with this subject and can elaborate - what might I be able to learn about the path of "Double Gimel?"

I was given "Double Three" in a prophetic dream.  It turns out that Gimel is the letter of the Hebrew alphabet associated with 3, and Double Gimel (as I understand) represents one of these paths.

Hope that makes sense..   :)   lol

Hey Gang..   :)

Here's one that's just a fragment, but I thought I might mention it because of the specific way I was able to move from the dream to lucid dream state.

Quote
I'm inside large museum-like building with light grey walls and I'm taking a tour.  I've also just been to one room that 'contains the answers to everything' - literally - but I'm not there anymore.  (sorry, I didn't bring back any answers - lol)

Anyway, I'm standing in this large room/hall and somehow I remember that one of the clues one can use to flag the fact that one might be dreaming is 'if you happen to be under a large domed ceiling. - -

I have no idea where this idea or memory comes from.  It's just there.  Perhaps I read it on this site.  But whatever the case I'm reminded that when one finds themselves standing under a domed ceiling you should do a self-check to see if you're actually in a dream.

Well, I did that and found that - yep - I was in the dream state.  The second I realized this, however, instead of just going with it I decided that I was going to try to astral project.  - Unfortunately, in doing that I think I just kinda messed it up. - - I wound up sitting up in bed just a little bit and in my attempt I forced my eyes open. (duuuuhhh)  And when I did this I awoke.

Interestingly, as I did awake I audibly heard an odd sound.  It was like a light 'krinkling of bells." - As soon as I made it to the awakened state the sound stopped.  I'd guess I heard this sound for about 3 seconds.

Anyway - might anyone be able to comment on the domed ceilings and/or the sound?  I've never heard this sound before and for the life of me I can't remember where I got this domed ceiling idea.

Thanks..  :)

Hey Quantitative - Nick...

I'm don't think I can explain it, but I thought I might provide yet another link if anyone would like to follow up.

If you scroll down this page to the bottom on the left hand side of the page you'll see this text

I'm not sure he can explain it either - lol - but I think he's on subject and listening is free..   :)

What about Klipoth..     :?

Link:   http://www.gnostickabbalah.com/Klipoth/klip%20intro.html

Quote
The Ten Sephiroth are Ten Spheres related with the multidimensionality of the Universe. This is the Tree of Life with its divine attributes, which are explained methodically in Four Manifested Cosmic Systems of Worlds that are called in Kabbalah: Atziluth, Briah, Yetzirah and Assiah.

However, there exists according to Kabbalah the shadow of that Tree of Life which does not manifest any divine attribute, but instead is the opposite of all of the Four Manifested Cosmic Systems of Worlds. This is the world of Klipoth.

I don't know a whole lot about it, but it seemed worth mentioning.  Perhaps someone can elaborate..

lol - I'm glad that ya laughed...    :)

Also,  thanks for posting on Milton.  I ran across an antique copy of Paradise Lost about a year ago in a local shop and bought it.  It's so old it doesn't even have a copyright on it. - Beautiful book - lots of gold - and drawings.

I have it on a display stand in the bookcase right beside me.

Hey Nick...

I don't really understand the parallel universe thing either.     lol

I thought, however, that I might follow up on this:
Quote
interesting, but the physical brain's temporal lobes do effect how we percieve time and space.

I'd agree.  What I'd personally add though is that the brain doesn't just effect how we perceive time and space - it literally creates it.  All sensations, - feeling, touch, hearing, sight, and even our thoughts are of the brain.

These thoughts and sensations create the illusion that "I'm in here" and stuff is happening "out there."  This is ego - the sense of I'ness or being seperate from things.

However, there exists a consciousness when all of those sensations are removed where there is no sense of 'in here' and 'out there'  There is no concept of two - there is only 'one'..  And that's who we really are.  - The rest, including time, is just the noise of illusion.

Or at least that's how I understand it..     lol

Hey Maven...  :)

The title of your post reminds me of Peter Gabriel's song, "Digging In The Dirt." - It's one of my favs..

Anyway, I guess there are so many things that can be suggested (meditation,  study, psychology, etc..) but I just have a simple suggestion.

Find an image that you can identify with as your inner child.  For example, here's mine ( http://spider-food.net/astuff/lilman.jpg ) - Once you find that, turn it into your avatar; the image that you use online.  If you need any help with that just PM me and I'll be glad to assist.

Thereafter, as you post and use IM - find within yourself the voice of that inner child.  Begin to associate with it.  Let it speak. - After doing this for a while you'll be surprised how easy it can be to slip into.  Then, once you've found that small inner voice let him or her laugh again.  Let him or her 'play.'  Just have some fun speaking through that inner voice.

The inner child is very real and very much a part of us - just as much as our adult side. Unfortunately, as we're growing up pressure from our parents and pressure from our peers teaches us to suppress our inner child.  We're told we have to "grow up" - "be serious" etc...  But IMHO, this is not all good.

Using this lil suggestion can help you regain touch with that inner voice - who prolly just wants to laugh and have a little fun.  Once that's done, we often experience a healing.  It can be quite a kick.  lol

Then finally, here's a lil poem for ya....

---------------

Sweet child of God and rhyme
a wonder and parable told
in seized moments of experience
Can i know your soul and free thinking
who do you pray to ?
these child prayers of heaven in your short lived truths
always ruining to become
In childlike wisdom you wonder
is freedom not walked in bare feet
the shiny stone a child secret
that you might joy for the first time
and bless the Angel with song
these deeper things of heaven for the child....

Einstein demonstrated that time is a relative concept — an illusion of the five senses. Kabbalah agrees.

Nick, I think this link might help you with your question.  On the first page you'll find a brief written intro.  Clicking on the link at the bottom of the page will take you to a nice Flash movie which explains it in a little more detail.

When finished you might also want to check out this movie on Parallel Universes..

Hey again, S7 -  Thanks..  :)

I'll see if the supplier I use (Tibetan Spirit) sells that.   My thoughts on the subject has been simply that the more care taken in selecting an incense the more effective it will be.  If we take a little time to research something like that it shows more care and makes it a little more personal.  The result is that if you're making it as an offering it means a little more to ya, and I will be burning this on my alter.

Anyway - thanks again.  Best of luck.  And cheers!

Welcome to Dreams! / Tree Set Afire

Hey Telos..

Fascinating dream, and IMHO much clearer than mine with regard to the kundalini.  As above, so below.  As I'm sure you know the tree of life is also in you.  And it does sound like you may have received some kind of message about the throat chakra.

I have no idea how accurate this is, but there is an online test available that supposedly will give you a hit as to your chakra states.  Here's the link if you'd like to have it.

http://www.eclecticenergies.com/chakras/chakratest.php

As per my dream, yesterday I spent some time looking through a book on Kundalini by Christopher Hills.  Then afterward I listened to a Christopher Hills cassette tape on the subject and did a little meditation.  During the meditation we were to breathe in deeply, filling the lungs and then diaphragm with energy - hold it for a second - and then when releasing the breath we were to envision a fan just above the root chakra 'blowing on the kundalini fire' - like a coal - making it burn hotter with the breath.

Anyway - as a result I'd planted a pretty good seed image in my mind for that day, so I'm pretty sure that's where the images in my dream came from.  But it sure would be cool if it was a dream foreshadowing.  I guess - that is if it went up the middle.. lol

If I'd seen that flame blowing sideways in the wind I'm not sure I'd like it so much.. lol

Here's the one from last night..   :)

Quote
I'm at my home and there are Indian (the country) children there.  In the dream, I'm me but very young (about 12) and my physical characteristics are none that are familar to me.  In other words, I'm another person but still me - if that makes any sense.

I want to talk to one particular little indian girl or rather she wants to talk to me.  I imagine it's both ways for it seems there is a childhood crush there going on between the two of us.  We walk away from the house just a little bit and sit down - preparing to talk, when along comes an elder of hers.  - He's pretty angry that we've wandered so far away from the house.  He doesn't like the idea of me being round the little girl.  I become aware there is going to be a confrontation. - At that point somehow he manages in a karate like fashion to kick my left leg - but it doesn't hurt.  And ironically, instead of his foot loosing contact with my left leg after the kick it doesn't.  My leg is just now kinda resting on top of his foot while his leg is extended in the air.

He "flicks" my left leg 9 times with his foot.  It's some kinda special move or someting and after he does that my left leg goes numb.  I can barely walk.  - When I find I can though I begin walking back toward the house.  Once there I see he's following me and I find that between the two of us there is one of those long orange electical cords.

Somehow, I do something to the electircal cord and he can not pass it.  Doing so would electricute him.  But he finds the plug and unplugs the dang thing.  Upon him doing this - somehow - I find another electrical cord and do the same thing to it - which creates a barrier between us that he can not pass.

I start to run into my house.  When I do I find that a large tree sitting in the front yard has set afire and is blazing intensely. -

I run into my home.

I think it's got someting to do with kundalini as I studied about that quite a bit yesterday.  (tree of life - set afire)..

Hey Astral Man -  S7 - Potential -   :)

Astral, thanks for the feedback.  Perhaps that will be on the PDF from S7.

And S7, nice to meet you.  Memphis is such a nice place, or at least that's how I recall it.  I spent my summers there when I was young.  My father was head of the philosophy dept. at Memphis State (it's name then.).  I'm in McComb, MS now (where it's always raining on 'color radar' - lol).  But nice to meet ya, and I'll be sending you that PM as soon as I finish.

Nice to meet you also, Potential. (Deep Bows to ya) My other name is Konchok Samten.  I tool my vows from Garchen Rinpoche about two years ago at the Garchen Institute in Prescott, Arizona.  It was the purpose of the trip, but I was lucky to stay for 4 weeks.

Anyway, thanks again everyone...  Talk to ya later - And Cheers!

Hey Gang,   :)

Are there any specific mantras associated with Astral Travel?

I've also heard that burning "Copal" can be  conducive to astral travel.

Any merit to these claims?

Interesting dream, perhaps it just means to keep on the path your on?

Hey Nay...  :)

It's think it's prolly tied to my spiritual beliefs.  My interpretation is that ego can't cross the river, but with  further spiritual progress (disolvement of the ego) eventually the real me (which is not the ego - "I") will be able to cross it.  If that makes any sense..  lol

No matter what the interpretation may be though, what's so cool about this is that I rarely if ever dream.  Since starting this energy work, however, I'm having them almost every night..

Hoping MAP comes in today too..
