it should be legal.
its a plant that you can consume without having to chemicaly refine like opium, its a natural right.
No one has ever died from an overdose. It fuels drug wars and violence.
Its not the best thing for your memory or clear thinking, but for w/e reasons people chose to use it is noones buisness especially not the goverments.

true, I cant be too picky. I read it is distracting to use your own voice, and ive tried doing that with self-hypnosis. I might try making my voice lower than it really is and play some ambient music in the background.

I have a book on celtic myth & magic with three written path works included. It says it is best to have someone read it to you but i dont have that option. So I am wondering would it be better to read the path work while in a relaxed state? Or record the path work and play it back?

are you referring to the badlands of the midwest? or some place you entirely made up?

this morning i found myself in a strange building. I was walking around when i said to myself. What am I doing? I should be taking advantage of this. The dream wasn't vivid and the vision around my periphery was blurry. I tried affirming "clarity now!".. nothing.. I tried sitting down to meditate. Bad idea, as for when i sat down and began to relax everything went black and i lost the dream. Still in that state, I imagined my house and ended up there, I figured I might as well go out with a bang, for I dont know how long this will last. I basically ran outside my house naked, my cat followed, and i threw rocks at windows. Eventually i ran into characters from a dream prior to the one i was in, and I lost my awareness.

Does anyone have an affirmation thats worked for them in lucid dreams?

its not as if evil and suffering in the world has to exist in order to balance the good. Love and compassion, are the way to higher states of awareness and consciousness. 150's ago slavery was around, 50's ago not all humans had the same rights. More recently the oppression of women and homosexuals and the protection of the environment is being brought to light. The consciousness of the human race is evolving, although slowly and it is up to the people who recognize suffering in the world to try and change it.

Welcome to Astral Chat! / Re: Relaxing

breathing. try slowing down and lengthening your breath while lying down or sitting, pausing for a few seconds between each inhale and exhale.  If you want, you can add a stretch co-ordinated with your breath, as long as you remember to concentrate on both. This additional step will not only help you relax, but also remove tension from your muscles which can inhibit you from getting a good rest.

chakras and the endocrine system are connected. the navel is connected to the adrenal glands, such as the pineal the crown chakra, and the heart the thymus gland.
#59
the adrenaline you feel is probably the result of you activating one of your chakras.

are binural beats more effective with headphones?

no, im not lucid when i find the books, i just remember the significant part of my dream after. And when i do find a book im only able to look at a page or two before i wake-up or end up somewhere else. But it isnt just text that i read, there are also figures and diagrams that explain an idea or concept to me.

Welcome to Dreams! / dream guides and dream books
August 08, 2012, 17:22:06
the title is not referring to books about dreams its about books i find in dreams. Things i make habbit of in real life often occur in dreams like looking for an interesting book. The last book i read in a dream was about neuro-physiology, i read about things that were foriegn to me but were relevating and made sense, like how protiens are converted into thought. Another time i found a whole encyclopedia on i subject never heard of, after i woke up i asked myself how much would i learn if i read all of those?
and would that information be special to me?

Dream guides are less common to me, but offer a differnet means of learning from my subconscious. Last night in mydream, this women with mystical powers, who had a yellow glow about her began to teach me how to meditate. I felt her and her students energy and it was exciting, but a little nerve wracking.

"the groups of dreams appear".. which are along the same lines as archetypes and elementary ideas.

Its just the fact that we really know how ancient "ancient civiizations really are. If we have a history of language dating back 2,000 years, WHat would a civilization come to with a history of 10,000 or 30,000 yearsof language, science ect. Some vedic scholars claim 50,000 years. A lot of the ancients lived in harmony with nature, knew about the chakras, human nature, and metaphysics to a degree seldom seen today. Just because they were not materialistic didnt mean they were not advance spiritually or intellectually. They understood that time occured in cycles and how to manipulate subtle energies like sound. Just as an example of what ancients knew, the dogon poeple of milawi claim that there are 266 subatomic particles, stephen hawking claims there is 200. They didnt learn though book learning but through experience and i think as we move forward in time we will realize how much we underestimated them.

The star patterns were just a sign to let them know where they were in relation to the zodiac at a given time. The unseen forces of that position were felt and recorded. Its more about our relationship to the universe than it is mapping the night sky.

As for thier beliefs no one is sure about the meaning behind the mythology, as a personification, symbol, or literal translation.

i believe the stars can have a more subtle affect on consciousness. Just as the moon and sun affect the ocean and animals. If we are tied to everything in the universe and nothing is indepent it would only make sense that are position in relation to the zodiac has a suble affect on events and nature. The end of the current mayan calendar which closely lines up with the vedic cycles of time is significant because during that transition we are directly lined up with the center of the milkyway galaxy. And I believe the ancients knew a lot more about cosmology than we do today.

Also astrology today is different from astrology 2,000 yrs ago. WHat you find in the paper, or your home page about horoscopes Is just the begining of a process used to obtain knowledge.

Welcome to Magic! / Re: Types Of Magick
August 06, 2012, 13:22:41
im surprised there is nothing up there about eco-magick or nature magick. A lot if not most ancient pagan cultures had some connection to plants and animals, especially celtic druids who would harness the power of trees, heal the enviroment and use natural features and settings as their temples and place of ritual.

        to SZaxx,

i am a bit more confused, my concept of dreams had to do with brain frequency (alpha beta theta) and your level of awareness. And that your  awareness make the difference between LD's, AP's and psychic powers. The labels help me explain to myself what I experience but i KNow that no concept or idea can accuratly depict the "experience". I know what you mean " its hard dilemna" because what defines the non-physical? Pure energy with no mass? If so that would make light a non-physical experience, also poeple who can see auras and spirit worlds in waking reality make it harder to draw that line.

I dont know what you mean by "Subjective experiences become objective with validations. These happen so how subjective is all this in reality?"

#69
[xanth][What you should focus on is this:  Consciously experiencing a reality which you recognize as NOT being this physical reality.
]

What else are you referring to as "not being physical" besides dreaming when I am asleep? Is this something you focus on in waking reality?
#70
lucid dreams i guess, because that is my starting piont from which i plan to project, look at a past life, ect. I havent had luck with meditation or hypnosis so im trying to be grounded in that area. I know currrently I am IN BST when i LD. Is the what you are referring to (wider reality) in contrast to a lucid dream?
#71
i have been having the occasional lucid dream for as long as i could remember. It wasnt until i learned what lucid dreaming was that i began to experiment with it. The first things i started working with were reality checks (ex. flicking a light switch, pinching myself), until i found that the light started giong on and it hurt when i pinched myself.
Since then i do not have solid reality checks to rely on and its more just a lucid awareness and feeling i get that informs me that I am in a dream when i occasionally have one. Last week I had what i consider to be my yet. NOrmally my LD's only last for 15-30 secs, My last LD lasted for 2-3 minutes.First thing I did was look at my palms, because i read that on here, as soon as i realized it wasnt working, I increased my general awareness calmed down and started tapping objects which kept me lucid.

I owe this small accomplishment through a system of trial and error  over a few years. So where are you on your journery? and what obstacles have you faced?
#72
people at the higher balance institute claim you can enter others dreams, via a dream gate. They actaully have a course on it that you could purchase. http://nl.higherbalance.com/dreamgate-1    the idea reminds me of the spongebob squarepants episode where spongebob hops into all his friends dreams

how could she open her physical eyes, or (keep them open) if her consciousness was in her astral body?
