QuoteAll action is consciousness but being conscious is a case of action that knows itself.

Good thought Frank.

Who's to say that at some level a rock isn't consciousness?  It may not be conscious of itself, but it may need to be part of the conscious continuum for something else to be conscious of it.   :?:  Well, if you understood that one, I have another...

Consciousness, I think, is the foundation of all action, including existence (potentiality realized).  Now the human body has the ability and is complex enough to interpret a large enough portion of this continuum to realize itself.  Consciousness becomes conscious of itself.  Rock is consciousness that does not have a physical vehicle complex enough to be conscious of itself.  However, the spiritual vehicle of a rock may (or may not) be complex enough to realize it exists.

Consciousness, on whatever level, creates the potential to exist (spirit), then realizes that potential (physical), then experiences that realization (self awareness).  Next step:  after self-awareness is whole-awareness.   :(

I think...

I believe in monoism.  I interpret than "1 thing" to be not energy, not material, not potentiality, these are byproducts of consciousness.  So, readers digest version, I think the fundamental is wholeness, or oneness, or nothingness, choose your phrase, and this wholeness consists of consciousness, and everything that exists, including potentiality, exists so that consciousness can experience itself.

Word.

seems the closer you get to focus 10, the less consious you are, and then when you get there, your very aware and the clearer your mind becomes and the more exposed your thoughts are, making them alot more difficult to not interact with.

the times I've felt like I reach focus 12, theres a sudden openness and clarity that comes on really quick, which jolts my mind out of its relaxation and causes me to evaluate whats going on, and I find it really hard to shake these thoughts.  When I try to shake these thoughts, I end up thinking too much about shaking them!

Thanks for the reply Major!

I feel I can fairly easy reach Focus 10.  Staying consistently in it is sometimes a challenge, but I feel I am fairly consistent with that too.

When you feel you have fully achieved the "focus 10", what is the next mental exercise you apply to go beyond?  Do you continue to attempt to focus on nothing (strictly observe), do you try to create visuals, do you meditate on a thought such as "I will now go out of body"?  Any suggestions?

From the descriptions of Focus 12, I feel I have reached it before, but it is very fleeting.  I am occasionally able to stay here for maybe a second or two, at most 5-10 seconds.  Is there a trick to the mental process you want to work on both at a deep focus 10 or light focus 12?

Thanks!

Kevin, hang in there. I believe you experience life and your soul has some challenges for you to overcome so you can grow.  I believe that what happens is your soul throws you a wake up call.  That call can come in any form.  You can lose your job.  You can lose your wife.  Your car can blow a tire.  The cashier at Wal-Mart can give you dirty looks.  I've decided that these events are my soul, slapping me in the face every once in awhile to wake me up, to learn a lesson.  When you lose your job, you feel hopeless.  When you lose your wife, you are devastated.  When you get a flat tire, your frustrated.  When the cashier gives you a dirty look, you are angry.

The Buddha, for example, upon awakening never felt hopeless, devastated, frustrated, or angry, though his path to enlightenment was full of it.

Your higher self is slapping you in the face, telling you to get on with your life.  You need to protect your family by providing that income, shelter, food, love, support, etc, but don't give up your search!  Find the profession that will make you satisfied, and in the meantime, take care of your family, i.e. don't quit your job!  Your job is providing you the ability to find your calling.

Three years ago, I bailed on the retail side of work.  I owned (and still own a part) of a sign business.  I hated it.  I hate doing work for money (but its necessary isn't it!).  I love helping people, so I became a firefighter, and career wise, I am the happiest man alive!  I became a firefighter when I was 34, its not too late.

Good luck, and if my words don't help you, take these posts as signs that there are people out here you've got your back!  :D

Hey Frank, your post caught my attention (as they usually do!). Specifically this part:

QuoteThe technology is really interesting. It is something we are set to have he says. They have all kinds of machines and things like us, but they are all biological.

I found this book awhile ago.  "The Third Millennium; Living in the Posthistoric World".  Its been an inspiring book for me for a long time now.  It is a prophetic book that talks of the evolutionary awakening of the human species.  The author states in the book that this decade will be the one in which we will "awaken" to the subconscious or spiritual realms as a global population (roughly 15% of us anyway).

He describes future technological advances like this:

QuoteThe future holds inventions of a far more organic nature than those of the historical era.  On the surface these inventions will appear simpler than the cumbersome technology of today, yet inherently they will be far more sophisticated.  They will be ecologically enhancing, durable and easy to produce.  But the chief feature distinguishing them from solid-state historical structures is that they will be alive.

You said your friend says "It is something we are set to have".  Has he ever mentioned a time frame?

Hey Michael, I just read one of your recent posts that was similar.  It was one of the posts I read that prompted me to write this one because they were so similar.  Thank you for the feedback.

Thank you Stephen for the nice welcome!

I am posting this experience because of the similarities it has with other posts.  This experience I thought was just a really lucid dream, but maybe it was astral experience...

I found myself in this old market type place.  It was night.  Seemed like everyone liked or loved everyone else here.  From the start of this experience I was very lucid.  I was walking down one of the streets and was passing people I knew, people I hadn't seen for a long time.  I don't know these people in waking life, but felt I knew them from dream-ville.  As I was walking down this road, I came across a big, overweight black guy and we recognized each other.  We gave each other a big hug and expressed how nice it was to see each other after so long.  After some small talk, we parted ways.  I walked through the town and came upon a meeting place, like an outdoor restaurant/meeting hall.  It was bustling with activity, all kinds of people here.  It seemed everybody knew everybody and were best friends at the deepest level.  What a nice place to be!  Everybody was sooo nice.

I asked around to see if anybody in this place was alive in the physical world.  Most said they were not, a very few said they were.  I asked them if they felt they'd remember being here once they got back.  They told me "Nobody remembers.  That's impossible!"  I told them that it wasn't impossible.  They then asked to meet the person that I know who can remember these two separate lives at once.  I said I could, that I'd been to places like this before and remembered.  They then kinda put me on a pedestal and began asking me questions.  I can't remember the specifics, but they were good questions.  We had a good time, we laughed alot.  One of the guys who was listening to me said he was sure he would remember.  I said "You say that now, but when I come up to you in the physical world and talk to you about this, you're gonna say I'm crazy, and for me to go #*&(#% myself!"  Everybody laughed at that comment.

As all this was going on, the conversation started to get thin and that's when someone approached me.  He whispered in my ear that he needed to talk to me in private.  I knew it must have something to do with the topic we were all talking about.  He said "Man, I know you're going through this transformation thing, I'm going through the things you've been taking about.  I'm just like you."

We walked through the streets talking about relevant things and confirming our spiritual convictions.  I told him it was of utmost importance that we meet each other in the physical so we can "get to work" on what needs to be done.  I told him of the necessity of us meeting and he reminded me of what a monumental task that would be (meeting up in the physical) but acknowledged it had to be done.  He said not to forget that the universe will allow our paths to cross, the universe will set our meeting up.  We talked more about I don't know what, then, I came back to the physical and opened my eyes.
