Hellohttp://www.astralpulse.com/forums/images/icon_Smile.gif" border=0>and congrats on your first OBE! I wouldn't worry about not being able to see at first, you just have to give your energy body used to the experience. It will improve with use.You could also request better vision during the experience ,maybe that will help? Your desciption of feeling like you were "plugged into something, radiating energy,so strong I could barely handle it" sounds very familiar.I'll never forget the first time I experienced the vibrations. It was about 11 years ago.I felt like I had massive amounts of voltage running through mehttp://www.astralpulse.com/forums/images/icon_Smile_shock.gif" border=0>the experience was terrifyingly beautiful.Over time they became much less violent, eventually increasing in frequency or pulse. Now they are a pleasant feeling of warmth.A side effect to astral projection I would like to warn everyone about, that I have noticed over the years is less of a tolerance for mundane,"normal" life. After feeling like you are plugged into the entire universe, exploring other realitys,or firing yourself into space at thousands of miles an hour, how can you possibly feel like you "belong" in a mundane society of money, stupidity, and short sightedness. It's all so small...All I can think about or search for now is freedom.

Leyla-That's true.I forgot about that! ,however I do enjoy seeing the landscape go by.I also find that it decreases the risk of reality fluctuations.Although I guess I'd have to do the instantanious travel technique if I had to travel a very long distance.Even at the astonishing speeds that the astral body is capable of travelling at,there are many places in the universe that are just too far away.

Hello. If you know how to achieve a  lucid dream, and if you have enough energy, you can try verbally requesting to go to him.I have never tried it to reach a specific person (yet),but I have crossed over to the real time zone using this method. The hard part is having enough energy and awareness to remember what you wanted to do,not get distracted, maintain awareness, and leave the dream behind.

I find that in order to have a degree of control in order to clarify lucidity and lengthen the experience. You need to save energy. You spend energy during sexal axtivity.Try to avoid ejaculation if engaging in sexual activity.,as this wastes the energy that you need for lucid dreaming or AP.In one of Castanedas books he quotes Don Juan "there are 2 things you can do with the sexual energy you save. You can make love with it, or use it for dreaming".It's very true. You might also want to try  verbal commands in the dream environment -"clarity now!", or "awareness now!".This works as long as you have enough energy to draw upon.If you save energy and practice lucid dreaming enough, you can learn to travel away from the dream itself,to the astral planes,or the real time zone,or change to another dream. Also try affirmations before you go to sleep,and/or during the day.Say to yourself "tonight I will have a lucid dream".It also helps to have a specific place or task you want to accomplish. You could also try energy building/raising techniques such as Robert Bruces New Energy Ways.I also believe that asian "Ki" or "Chi" building techniques would be worth investigating.

Welcome to Dreams! / First Lucid Dream

Hi! lucid dreaming is a lot of fun,and you can use it as a gateway to astral projection. In order to do this you need to save a lot of energy. You do this by refraining from sex for longer than you are used to,or avoid orgasms,as it spends a lot of energy. If you do manage to have a lucid dream while your energy levels are low,you won't have much control over exactly where in the universe you go.If you do save the required amount of energy,it is possible to clarify and sustain your attention untill your energy levels run low. You can leave the dreamscape behind and travel anywhere you like.Last week I requested to go to the REAL TIME ZONE (an energetic echo of the physical dimention. Not the physical dimention itself, but very close to it).I descended through the sky, down to earth, and ended up near niagara falls! it was so cool! I found the difference between "realness" to be very noticable, but it is easy to get lost.I ran out of energy before I figured out how to get to my mothers place. If you want to have a lucid dream, after you relax and before you drift off to sleep, tell yourself several times  "I will have a lucid dream tonight".I tworked last night, but my energy levels were too low to have enough power to clarify my vision or go anywhere,so I explored a bit and drifted off.
Your question about community dreaming: I sometimes ask people in a lucid dream if they are real, and I find that some are, and some aren't.The ones that areoften "stand out" more, and are fun and interesting to converse with, while the ones that are not real beings often don't respond to your questions, and just stare at you as if they are zoned out or something. It is possible to learn a lot from the beings that are real though.http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/images/icon_Smile.gif" border=0>There is obviously a lot more to dreaming than most people realize. Its good you are beginning to "wake up" so to speak. It's all about freedom...

I love the simpsons. Some very funny quotes are there. However, because I don't own a computerhttp://www.astralpulse.com/forums/images/icon_Smile_sad.gif" border=0>,I have to use one in a library.I only have an hour! There's no way I could read all that and have time for other stuff. Here's another quote (maybe its already up there...) Bart Simpson-"Ow! my bones are so brittle!, but i've been drinking lots of (looks at carton)malk?

Hi Andrewthesinger.Your idea of the concious mind limitations in the RTZ seems to make a lot of sense.A good idea would be to strengthen the connection to the subconcious mind through more meditation,in order to access it more readily in the RTZ.Maybe the requests for clarity and attention would be answered easier that way.I'll have to try that calling of the name 3 times thing. There are several beings I have encountered that I would like to learn more about.Maybe they can teach me something. One was a guide named Etukai. She(how is that possible?) was very friendly, and obviously of a higher order, but she seemed to have a hard time understanding our connection between spelling and pronouncing  the english language.I think she used the letters symbolically different somehow ,so the spelling isn't the same as the pronunciation(She said it was spelled Tannn). She gave me a box that said "in constant harmony".Very interesting...

Next time I become lucid I will try to ask if there is a way to extend awareness,or build energy  to make projection/lucid dreams last longer. The "awareness now!" thing works, but maybe there is something else to do as well.I have often wondered if it is possible to build and modify our energetic makup while we are projecting,in order to accomplish various tasks (extention of projection time, building psychic energy for use in the physical, removing negative energy that manifests in the physical as illness,etc.).I intend to find out if this is possible.I have always found that if you need to know ANYTHING, the best time and  place to ask is during a lucid dream.

I agree that the build-up techniques are just as important as the separation techniques. In the past I have used a similar technique for astral  body separation.I imajined and FELT that I was the weight on the end of a pendulum.I started to swing the pendulum, gradually increasing the range of the swing. If you are deeply relaxed enough,it acts as a separation reflex trigger.Unfortunately,it can be very disconcerting when you separate, due to the speed and range of the swing, but it does work.Once I ended up staring at the ceiling in the hall after separating using this technique. In order to trigger the separation reflex, the speed of the swing has to be very fast, and the feeling of the action has to be very vivid.I just thought of another variation-how about remembering the feeling you used to get as a kid spinning around on those  things in the park-I forget what they are called-they spin very fast and make you feel sick, like those things that astronauts use to train in  to get used to the g-forces...

I have often had experiences in which I suddenly become lucid in a black void, and start hearing the most incredible symphonic music.Itjust goes on and on...all the while I am thinking "damn,I wish I could just remember all this, and white it down!",but there are just to many layers happening at the same time to remember it all. What a fantastic, frustrating experience...

heres a little tip for improving the clarity of your lucid dream/obe vision.I  tried the "phazing in" technique, ended up in the real time version of my room.I flew through the window and ended up in a astral plane with lots of people and some short buildings.my vision was blurry,so I "compressed" my conciousness"(hard to explain).Things became crystal clear! Its kind of like focusing a pair of binoculars or something.I flew around a bit, then decided to go to the real time zone, but I didn't make it because I got distracted by a "dream portal",and ended up in normal dream. the difference in realism was extreme.                                                                                                               I agree that it is very hard sometimes to tell the difference between a lucid dream and an obe.its a question of whether you believe in alternate realitys.Once I had a lucid dream in which I actually woke up in the past.It was very, very real, and  was very strange and disconcerting.Itbegane my questioning of which reality actually exists.Robert Bruce has a theory that dreams take place in an alternate set of realitys.A genuinly intriguing idea, but how do we KNOW? Isn't entirely possible that it all takes place in the mind? How do we know that is the case either? How do  we know that this reality isn't a kind of shared dream? This is very confusing...I've often thought that the best way to answer these questions is to actually ask someone you encounter during  your journeys in a lucid dream or obe.I have noticed that "dream characters" are little more than automatic illusions who don't answer your questions or really interact with you in a way they aren't programmed to,while beings that are more likely to have there own conciousness "stand out" more ,and are genuinely interesting to talk to and converse with. Are obe and dream realms actual planes of existance? are some beings we encounter actually alive and concious? how can we tell whether any reality actually exists, and isn't just part of our desires for it to exist? So far,I have found that the answers are in and during the experiences themselves.

I see those "electric tadpoles" whenever I look into a clear sky.I've always thought they were just related to the inner eye, like those bits of material floating inside your eye, maybe light reflecting off subsances in there, but now i'm not so sure!http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/images/icon_Smile_tongue.gif" border=0> I have been training my auric vision for the past while, and can usually see "air disturbances" around people, sometimes clear or white,or dark, sometimes colored.

Ryan:That is a very good technique.I have been projecting on and off for the past ten years and I forgot about that! I'll have to start doing that again because it is one of the most reliable methods of projection aroundhttp://www.astralpulse.com/forums/images/icon_Smile.gif" border=0>.I guess thats one advantage of being unemployed...

Answers arrive inthe form of semi dreamlike metaphorical imajery. It is up to the individual to figure out what it means,as symbolism is very subjective. It may remind you of some "unfinished business" from your past,or recent experiences,it may remind you of a recent experince or idea or decision you have been grappling with. The deeper you go into meditation, the more detailed, expansive, and dreamlike the imagery becomes and you may start hearing things (crashes, voices, etc). You may even get the reply in the form of a dream-spiritguide visitation,in which case you may actually be able to converse with this being.this requires the  physical body to be completely asleep. This also requires an intense need for this to happen. This being could be a deeper aspect of your own conciousness (higher self).Once you start to explore these areas of conciousness and experience, your dreams will become more vivid and memorabe, with more lucid dream experiences.you will also have more of  a likelihood of suceeding in concious astral projection.

Lately I've been experimenting with using hypnogogic imagery as well.I find it is much more vivid and detailed if you can learn how to reach a trance state.Light trance is good, but full trance is better. If your body is relaxed as possible, the imagery "surrounds" you more.I find that the longer you relaxe your body and the deeper you go,the more vivid the imagery gets.If you were to progressively relaxe your body and mind, while working with hypnogogic imagery long enough, you would probably launch into a lucid dream (A GATEWAY TO AN OBE?)much of the imagery seems to be metaphoric, and many times if you ask a question to yourself while in a hypnogogis state, you will get answers immediatly. It seems that it might be possible to learn remote viewing in this state, not sure how (visualising/feeling an actual place?).I wish I had some better advice, but I am still experimenting with it as well.I think the key is to  combine  trance meditation and relaxation of the body/ mind until you start to get hypnogogic imagery, and then send the body to sleep, while the concious mind remains awake, thus entering astral planes through a dream pool.does anyone have more detailed advice on this?

Your symbol reminds me of a symbol an entity gave me of its name.It  was a 2 headed dragon capable of shape -shifting into humanoid form. This took place on a lower astral plane, close to the physical plane. The symbol is on its side and backwards to what it is supposed to look like.I got the sense that this entity was not to be trusted, although I wasn't afraid of it.                               --U--V--

A question:How can someone who actively searches for spirits(and thus believes they exist)scoff at people who practice meditation and astral projection? This doesn't seem to make much sensehttp://www.astralpulse.com/forums/images/icon_Smile_question.gif" border=0>I wouldn't be surprised if she has already attracted some form of negative energy, given the effects she has on you.

hello Ensonador!just thought i'd like to say how lucky you are to have such a friend to teach you these things and help you on your journeys (of course we do have the fantsastic forum known as astral pulse)The vast majority of us have to learn by trial and error, which seems to take forever.Keep us posted as to what happens!http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/images/icon_Smile.gif" border=0>

Hey BLM,i havent been able to reach anybody ive met in the astral more than once and I will keep trying, but heres a cool real time obe that I had.i projected out of my body and went thru the floor to the kitchen on 1st floor.everything was incredibly clear, vivid and true to life(no reality fluctuations).mundane objects shone with a beauty from within.I looked out the window and saw the sun low on the horizon(early morn.) with a few clouds as well.I decided to fly into space so I flew thru the window into the sky.within a matter of approx. 10 seconds I was beyond the earths atmosphere.the darkness increased as I left the earths atmosphere behind.I decided to see how fast I could travel without doing the instantaneous projection technique and ending up somewhere in the astral dimensions.I noticed I there were more stars to my upper left ,so I changed direction, and flew at an amazing speed to what I figured out afterwards on star charts was towards the centre of our galaxy.I wasnt getting any closer to the stars despite the speed I was travelling, and I started to worry about going to far,so I was pulled back to my body.I fell into normal sleep and had a dream that was almost like my brain was trying to "interpret" the experience.metaphorical imagery obviously based on the obe.I woke up elated with a full memory of the experience.I went downstairs to the kitchen window and the same style of clouds, and the morning sun was low on the horizon. pretty cool eh?!

i also find castanada's writing fascinating.mainly because not only is it utterly unique and some of the experiences admittedly bizzare, but somehow in the back of your mind you KNOW that there is so much more to the universe than the extremely narrow viewpoint of most humans.from the moment we are born,we are taught how to percieve and act by: 1- our biological makeup, and 2-by those around us who already have a belief system and extend it to us as we grow older.in one of his books he talks about how the world is merely a PROJECTION of ourselves in our own incomplete way,and therefore because we have perceptual limitations thrust upon us by society,we see the universe as being "a certain thing", when in truth everything is rawenergy, and it takes conciousness and perception to mold it into what we believe the world is.OBEs,gazing, lucid dreaming, etc are a way of extending our perception and widening our reality, extending to a more complete version of"what is", into the nagual , so to speak.

hello, this is my 1st post.i have had many experiences of hearing voices, crashes, screams, etc while in the borderline state.several times i would feel someone press down on the mattress as if sitting on the edge of the bed ,this alway sparks my attention and lucidity.this being would then start talking in a very quiet voice (barely audible).mostly philosophical stuff i think.quite often when im fully awake i hear someone talking to me from within-usually in short sentences-advice that is important or mundane.these are  definatelynot "my thoughts".these kinds, and other kinds  of experiences (see the post about black fog on the floor-geez)seem to increase in frequency the more you practice meditation and astral projection.sometimes while in a dreamless lucid state ive had entire conversations with an unseen being.are these aspects of the self,or separate entity?
