The Dalai Lama mentions po-wa meditation as a means to "leave the body and return to it". I guess it might be similar to what we call AP/OBE then.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VA0n2bEnaN8

Mostly, if I understand it right, it serves them as a preparation for the "real thing" - death. It's interesting that he mentions at the end of the video the possibilty to transfer consciousness to another body - would have liked to hear more about this topic from him.

The Hindu yogis too have advanced techniques for this. They also choose when they are going to leave permanently and transcend. In "Autobiography of A Yogi" there is an account of a Guru who leaves his old warn out body and regenerates the body of a young man freshly dead and floating down the
Ganges and takes that body on in order to stay here longer for his enlightenment and teaching...cool trick  :-)

majour ka said what it was:

"dedicates time to dumping body awareness and focuses on the spirit self"

AKA: Meditation.  Learn it.  Live it.  :)

yes, sorry thats what I meant  :-)

Hi, sounds like you mean Buddhist monks, I've APd all my life and long before I started meditating, so I'm almost certain that any one that dedicates time to dumping body awareness and focuses on the spirit self is going to start experiencing visions, clairvoyance, clairaudiance, astral travel etc etc  :-)

You tried it yet?  :-)

I dont believe its necessary, our protection is our mental attitude, beliefs and the way we live our life. I think the term psychic protection is spiritual jargon personally.

What are looking to protect against?

To help others grow spiritually, quite a selfless act indeed. Perhaps I will live for thousands of years, I would hate to watch so many people repeat their mistakes and be forced to live in a lower region of f3 in fear and suffering.

Have you read Autobiagraphy of  yogi?

Perhaps I wasn't being clear in what I wanted to see what was possible with known methods of training.

I would like to be able to sense the living spirit of other living people (perhaps animals too) and in sensing that spirit I can tell in what direction they are and perhaps the distance as well. For example, I'd like to get to the point where I can close my eyes, and sense how many people are around me and how far they are away and in which direction. Kind of like a spirit map in my mind.

If I'm not being clear enough, then let me know. But I think I got the point across.

Yeah thats what im talking about, empowering your sensitivity and awareness through practices that unfold you spiritually and give rise to your clairsentiance, clairvoyance ect....if your looking for what you described then that's what im talking about. Blessings

I think of the voices as a barrier we cross when we Phase/OBE. The sounds and voices could be the Collective Mind or Thoughts of many people around you. If the theory of we are all one is true then that would make perfect sense.

Hi,
@ kurt,
It may seem subjective but when you experience several clairvoyant scenes and ALL of them happen exactly to the finest detail, your perspective certainly changes for ever.
The nasties you have been party to were definately hideous and I'm sure very real. I've been to places too where the walls were made of trapped souls and once they grab hold of you that's your end. They all were bad, nasty people and that's theirs because they believed it to be their damnation. Its a horrid place and there's even worse than that. The pit was one where I never went to but it exists in some form as a punishing belief system generated by those who fear satan. Do you not feel this when meeting entities, search their minds using telepathy and you'll understand that. You have the experience I'm sure. Look to yourself as a god like entity and the dark ones stay well away. On the other side of the proverbial coin is the place of pure white light. The entities there despise humans. They hate any war mongering forms and regard us as slime (primordial). They read me instantly and I couldn't even see or feel anything of them, totally locked out and they are the only ones ever that I have not been able to read. They also impressed in me Id never return and I can't get back there too.
The physical and all our knowledge on everything amounted to one grain of sand in a vast desert. This is the reality of it. Its so IMMENSE the more you see the less you actually know.
We are gods children is a saying with some meaning moreso metaphorically.
Fear nothing and nothing can scare you.
That's the beauty of beating nightmares, you learn to deal with it.
Hope this helps you understand to look at the bigger picture.

Its called the Astral..ie the subconscious which is subject to our thoughts and fears, we create it, but because its our subconscious it tricks us into believing its real.
Just imagine If this physical realm reacted to our subconscious reality as quickly as the subconscious focus did, then can you imagine what a place this would be lol...the astral is a tricky place and tricks us into thinking it wasn't created by our minds... :-D

You are activating your 3rd Eye Chakra and exerting intense energy into that region. I used to have a strong feeling in that area as well, sometimes so strong that it lasted for days after the Phase Session. It will calm like all the other things Astral related symptoms with practice. Congratulations you are showing positive signs of advancement.
Safe Travels  :-)

Yeah I echo that, it can also happen when your awareness to spirit people is growing, I often used to feel pressure on my third eye chakra when spirit people where near. It would almost feel like some one was touching it, but im sure its just the energy  :-)

Keeps me awake lol yeah it does work cos I had really really bad insomnia a few years back and try as I might I couldn't switch my mind off (I was going through huge amounts of stress at the time) after a couple of weeks of sleeping very little I started AP several times a night!!! cos my body would fall asleep if you like but my mind wouldn't.

Anythings possible.

Haha fair comment  8-)

Well, it sounds interesting, but since the past only exists in the mind and  you would need would need to move consciousnesses as well as light or physical matter. Plus everything happens in the present anyway, so really the past doesn't really exist...only as an abstract idea....

After a few hours of being awake the next morning I began to wonder if I was actually hearing talking and what was being said. There was also some other sounds that just sounded plain weird.

Either way, is there any way to drown out these sounds? I feel like I'm so close but those sounds creeped me out. I'm gonna try again tonight, sometimes I can get it to happen by telling myself it's gonna happen before I go to sleep, or by sleeping in a certain position.

Hi Leon, sounds like a great experience. Consider that when we have experiences like this that we are raising our conciseness and our awareness. So with the sounds you were hearing, they are always there but when your mind is less open you just don't hear them. As we meditate, Lucid dream phase etc we expand that awareness. All we have to do close that perception off is just focus on material things for a while, go for a walk, get some exercise, take some exercise, have a big meal, watch a funny film etc etc.

Good luck and regards [/color]

It is possible to become possessed, or channel beings that temporarily inhabit your body.

No it isn't.

Because of the work im involved in, I know that Spirit people cannot inhabit your body and possession is a myth.
I know how long it can take to develop trance Mediumship...and that blend takes time and patients and the spirit people who work at this are spiritually evolved and have an understanding of the energies. There is never one spirit control involved in trance more like ten or so working together to create the right blend of mind and energy and maintain that temporary link.
Also Trance is "Mental Mediumship" i.e "Mind to Mind" not physical as many people believe...the spirit person does NOT inhabit your body..im sorry but just isnt possible.

This technique is a combination of pranayama, om japa and the first part of shambhavi mudra. Perhaps you would be interested in yoga if you do not already practice. Here is a helpful website just in case you are interested:

All the best,
dotster

Is it !?? lol i do have an interest in yoga but have had no training.
Thanks guys, all good stuff. The interesting thing is after posting I went through the process in order to AP/Phase what ever you like to call it and found because my attention was on the intent instead of the OM it didn't work as easily, so i found the paradox is to concentrate on the OM to achieve the other..! It is a pointless debate... consciousnesses could easily be finite. There might be "physical" and "non-physical" planes of existance. You might not be here and there simultaneously. And "places" may exist regardless of our Focuses of Attention. Prove me wrong.

Lol yeah true, but its also good to share ideas and perspectives "I do not promise to believe tomorrow exactly what I believe today, and I do not believe today exactly what I believed yesterday. I expect to make, as I have made, some honest progress within every succeeding twenty-four hours".  Andrew Jackson Davis

Because consciousness is infinite.  There is no separation in consciousness.  There is no "physical" and "non-physical" (though it helps my poor little brain to make that distinction).  I am both Here and There simultaneously.  There are no "places," only Focuses of Attention.

The other day I visited a friend non-physically.  She was sitting under a tree reading a book and we had a nice conversation, I received verifiable information I would not have otherwise known.  But in the "old" model of consciousness, this would be impossible, because she was shopping at the mall when this happened.  It reminds me of one of Bruce Moen's partnered explorations-- his friend said she would be happy to explore with him, but also said she wouldn't remember because she was at home watching a soap opera.  This is called Mind-Split.

When meeting with my I/There, I encounter many different lives and aspects of myself, including future lives.  There is no separation in consciousness.  You could go your entire life thinking that you have separated from your body, because it certainly looks that way, but in reality that's not what's happening.

At any rate, I digress.  Point is, the only ones who have encountered dark entities, are the ones who believe in them in the first place.  In the Non-Physical, thoughts are things.

Hi, while agree in principle of the idea of consciousnesses being infinite, it has to be really there is no other way.
I still have to question if the conversation under the tree was with your mind made version of your friend in the astral....just saying...because had you visited her primary focus of consciousnesses it would have been with her at the shops.
One thing we might agree on here, is that when you project astraly you feel what is very much like a separation from your body into the non physical focus, so whether your just extending your consciousnesses or not it is still that Out of body experience.
eg If i sit with my eyes open I can leave my body "so to speak" and I will have no conscious awareness of my physical at that point, ie my physical eyes no longer see the room, but my spirit mind sees the room....so yes I may be be in both all places but my conscious awareness is still out of body ...OBE

Hi Cincy,

Its like this, sensing other peoples energy and knowing aspects of their lives ie their emotional state,  health, mental attitude fears, hopes, dreams, potential, past present and future situations etc etc etc all falls under the banner of Psychic and can be easily learned, how quickly depends upon the natural ability and correct practice of the person.
And can be incredibly accurate!!

I am a psychic and a Mediuum. When I tune into another persons energy to give them a reading I use my clairvoyance to see the colours of their aura and look at their thoughts and health etc...and I use my clairsentience to feel the information. Seeing, sensing and hearing spirit peoeple falls under the banner of Mediumship. All mediums are psychic, but not all psychics are Mediums.

There are many ways to practice and develop this sense. First of all its very natural for us all but often just lays dormant.
Every persons potential will be different. For example peopel who are very visual may find their sense of seeing (clairvoyance) is their strongets asset, which is the case for me. Some will find their sense of feeling more profound and others thier hearing. But you will most likely develop all over time.

Now heres the thing, there are many many simple and easy exercises you can do to practice and strengthen all these faculties and I can share some with you, but the one thing that many people often don't realise or understand that our spiritual, psychic and mediumistic potential is a by product of our spiritual unfoldement...ie the more we develop a spiritual awareness of ourselves the more these powers naturally develop..."The gifts of the spirit"

Go to the book page of this website and maybe try Tony Stockwells Heighten your Spiritaul awarness, you may find this very helpful! http://www.mastersofmediumship.com/#/home/

Yes, in fact that was what the CIA's remote viewing program was all about. This program ran back in the 1990's under various code names ("Stargate" was the best known code name.) CIA trained remote viewers would psychically spy on the Russians and other countries to try to learn classified secrets. ALSO, the remote viewers were told to RV the planet Mars and the Moon for Alien Spacecraft and other activities.
So if this CIA RV program is still in existence then no doubt somebody will soon be remote viewing several  possible habitable planets to see if life already exists there.

Good stuff  :-) apparently that planet is 600 light years away, so RV or AP is probably the only way we are gonna get there lol, regards

I was able to download the original project stargate RV training manuals, as well as the SRI training manuals. Lyn Buchanan's CRV courses were the ones I had the most success with.

Siiick!!! can you share the link? !  :-D
