Im a Medium and all i can say have you ever considered that it may be helpful kind caring spirit trying its hardest to get the family out because of a pending fire hazard, gas leak, one of the children maybe very sensitive and could be getting bullied at school which could have devastating implications.. or some other problem, just an idea...its the only thing that makes sense to me...

In my experiences and other stories I have heard from some of the worlds leading mediums is that all the scary phenomena turns out to be some one simply trying avert a disaster.

Maybe if a good medium had visited while the family where there, they could have made a contact... and asked what it was all about, after all the spirit world would be drawn by love for some one.  They wont have any interest in the materiel..ie the house.

I am spiritualist Medium and it is my personally belief that there are no such thing as evil or negative spirits etc at least my experience and understanding is when ever there is phenomena in the house etc and the priest has been called and the ghost busters and the exorcist and all that stuff...the medium gets called last and it just turns out to be some one showing their presence because they want to show they are looking out for you and support you while you maybe going through material or emotional difficulty.

If you where in the spirit you would want to help the people you cared about so its quite natural.

If there is an energy in a house that has been left by stressful emotions or other events then that can feel very tangible and alive in our awareness.

An easy way to deal and with and quickly change this is to simply imagine the the room and the house filling with light and love expanding out form your self and and then mentally turn it up a notch..the house and your self will feel different straight away...x

I have had similar experiences, most of them beautiful, empowering and life enhancing some of them as if ive over sensitised my mind...and I probably had.

I wouldn't worry about it, but I can defiantly recommend spending some time in nature. Take some exercise or just walk, eat plenty. Meditate a little less for a couple of weeks.

It all sounds right to me, but when your having an OBE / AP you know it!! and knowing while its happening and the way you know it afterwards are different because it a different state of consciousnesses.

But just sitting and lets say remote viewing or using your imagination, or seeing it with clairvoyance all a different thing.

I traveled what felt like a huge distance and found myself traveling towards a planet that had a kind of sub tropical climate and found my self in what can best be described as similar to South America.

Some how as I approached, within the awareness of my consciousness I knew it was slightly smaller than earth and I can still see it in my mind like it was yesterday.

I came to a large encampment near a huge river and entered the main building which was made from wood it was huge and the structer was the shape of an upside down boat and was built around several enormousness living trees of which I hadn't seen anything like before.

It had a very Maouri /south American feel. there were big dark wooden tables very long and narrow and perfectly smooth...like it was a dinning hall or something? Outside there  where endless trees which had banana type looking leaves that all pointed upward but I didn't notice any fruit.

The strangest thing was there was no one there when i arrived like everyone had recently left. The thoughts of people being near by sent me quickly back but it was an incredible place.

Man! can you imagine any where else in the world I could share this hahahhaha!

Im glad it helped in some way, I have been psychic all my life and have seen spirit people from when I was a small child. I work as a Spiritualist Mediums giving demonstrations in public and private readings.

I don't believe for a second anything or anyone in the spirit world would or could harm us in anyway.

The things that make people, violent, or dangerous or even just grumpy in this life when you look at it is their human aspect not their spirit.
When we move to the spirit world, there is an adjustment and the things that made us difficult in this life fall away...at that point there's a reflection of how we have acted and dealt with our human limitations and a greater understanding from the higher point of view we enjoy in the spirit world.

I worried as well for a while when my clairvoyance was was developing in a big way for me....and drove my self mad worrying about it, so I understand where you are coming from.

first off congrats!! Secondly there's three things that make sense to me from my experiences...and by the way im not religious either.

1. mantras give you a focus they create space in our thinking which allows the sense of being, that is to say the power of your own spirit that which is prior to thought shine through.

2. The words you are chanting are imbued with thousands of years of spiritual vibration, they will help you elevate your mind to connect with that collective spiritual consciousnesses. 

3. The vibratory qualities of the thought and and sound will have an effect on the electro magnetic field and our chakras, different tones different points of energy on the body and mind.

Try the Om for half an hour with eyes closed and gently gaze between your eye brows...It will blow your mind...you can start to sense the whole wold as particals of sound and light...then tell me there's no god 

Let face it what ever might be predicted we have the free will power and energy to make our own choices and affect our own path in life.

As for palm reading, its only as accurate as the persons ability to read it.  I don't personally believe anyone with a real ability and spiritual sense would tell anyone anything negative or to worry about, if they did they shouldn't be doing it.

The Blackpool story sounds interesting, but im sorry what a drama queen!! the palmist i mean. Psychics and mediums visit others all the time. I have them come to me for readings and I wouldn't throw them out! lol...just saying.

This may help, no special mediation needed.

Just sit focus on the in and out flow of breath and scan your body for tension... mentally know that you are filling your self with love and the power of the universe and gently feel your self filling with light that easily expands outwards...beyond the room and out in to the universe. You notice a warm loving all encompassing brighter light meets with your light and becomes one.

Sit in this light for a while and feel it filling you with power and joy, keep returning to the breath if your mind wanders...and ask in your mind for those that work with you, to inspire, to develop and expand your awareness to join you, so you may feel sense, see and hear them, that you might know them...and they will come.

Keep it simple and keep it easy. The secret is to go into it with no preconceptions and each thing you experience whether it be a colour or a sound or what ever, simply acknowledge it and let go..other wise you will engage the conscious mind and it will bring you out of it.

When you do want to return from the experience simply take hold of the breath and wiggle your fingers and toes.

With a little practice you will be able to enter the state of sensing and feeling the other world in the blink of an eye with a mere thought.

The bonus to this process is that your psychic, Mediumistic and Spiritual potential will unfold naturally and more profoundly.... naturally and strongly. Regards.

My experiences confirm what Buddhist themselves say they see in their NDEs. They have visions of hell, Yamatoots taking them to judgement, fire... so I don't think Buddhism is saving these souls. Though they have good teachings, they don't know the truth about this cosmos and the powers that rule it, so they haven't been able to escape them.

Buddhists seek freedom from the illusion of form...form is where we find hell etc...form of thought, physical form and so on...its the same goal but via different path that the yogis use..instead of  just having faith or believe in this idea or that idea as most religions ask us to do...they say come and experience...see for your self and seek untiringly union with god...or in another words "self realisation"

For everyone its different, depending on your sensitivity and awareness.

Mine used to be mainly visual, like watching a movie, but over time its refined, so I can see less but know more ( saves energy and energy = information)
Now I see, feel hear and or just know the information, just conscious of it. Depending on what your actually doing and why..IE writing, just listening, or giving a reading to someone.

I find sitting with the spirit people and just acknowledge what ever you experience and let it go is the best way..if you get caught up in what you see hear or sense you will not go deeper... acknowledged and let go...as you move further into the experience..over time your power and awareness will grow.

But like a flower opening it takes time.
