EnderWiggin-
I just want to say that you represent the mantality of the anti-war sentiment very well.  Keep up the good work!

The idea of the chem-trails is just the kind of think the protesters should be focusing on...[:)]

Oh, ok, so we should support and sustain tyrannical dictators whose ideas of leadership include staying power at any cost, even if it means killing women and children.

The sad truth is that in this world our motto often has to be:
"Si vis pacem, para bellum."

Thanks for all the info.  I am suprised by how few online sites there are that offer free info regarding basic self-defense.

I should clarify some more.  I am an able bodied young man, I am 6 feet tall and I weigh 245 (I am trying to get back down to about 220).  Despite that fact that I am heavier than I want to be, I am still athletic and can move quickly.  I carry most of my weight in my upper body (chest, shoulders and arms).  I played football and was in great shape at about 190.  ANYWAY- my point is that as a football player and an active person, and after quite a few scuffles and fist fights, I am not in anyway way unable to defend myself.

The thing I want to learn is how to grapple and hold, because as cainam mentioned, mos street confrontations end on the ground.  I want to learn to subdue someone without pouding them to pieces...and I want to learn to defend myself on the ground because (and if you have watched any ultimate fighting) if you can't handle your own on the ground then you WILL LOSE A FIGHT.

I have studied Nin-Jitsu a little bit (formally for one month) and learned some basic blocks.

Where do you guys think is the best place/best kind of art, to learn grappling and holds?  Couldn't I just pick up a book (I don't really have the time or money to join a class these days)

I agree...and if we could just begin transporting large quantities of this moon cheese back to earth we could fill the hollow earth with it and solve that problem once and for all![^]

By the way Netwire, welcome to the forums!  By the way, while there's absolutely nothing wrong with asking such a question here in the astral chat room, you might get more responses for a post such as this in the actual OBE thread.  Either way, there's plenty of knowledgeable people here and most of us get a long just splendidly, as long as we're not discussing the war and other political issues.

Ciao!

In my opinion it's just a matter of word choice, however, when I think about it I guess astral projection defines the act of actually "projecting" (which is sort of a very crude way of describing a complex phenomenon) while astral travel, on the other hand, defines the act of traveling or exploring the astral realms.

Semantics is always a real problem when you're dealing with the "metaphysical".

#607
You guys really crack me up...I mean I simply can't believe there are nutjobs out there crazy enough to entertain ideas like the "hollow earth" one.  Don't you know they have physically drilled MILES into the earth's crust!?  They can map it out with all kinds of instruments!  Anyway, to each his own.  I am officially done posting in this thread...but have fun and don't let reason!

Hey, hey, hey...I know someone would take my statement and run with it, and that's fine.  I just want you to consider something: would I be a participating member of this forum, which deals with OBE and other "occult" things if I were a closed minded person?  Think about this as well: what percentage of the population could actually sit down with you and discuss such topics as healing, OBE, NDE, astral defense, etc.?  I venture to say between 2-10%...

I guess what I am saying is that there is a fairly defined line between theories such as the hollow earth one (which is reminiscient of a 19th century sci-fi novel...) and other kinds of theories.  I am not passing judgement, but seriously, when I invite a skeptical person, or someone who is simply not well-versed in such matters as the kinds normally discussed in a place such as this, and they find "hollow earth" stuff, it does sort of make one wonder.  I don't think people shouldn't post such things, that's their perogative...I am sure some of the things I post in here seem like pure nonsense to some, and that's the beauty of it.  BUT I do think I have a point and even you would concede this is true, for I believe you to be one of the more level-headed and intelligent posters here in the AstralPulse.

In conclusion, I would like to ask something about the "hollow earth" theory, just in the way of making a point.  How much evidence supports this theory?  How much evidence (and I am talking empirical, scientific or in other words quantitative evidence, supports the more traditional theory of the earth's chemical makeup?  I think the answer to this is obvious.

GRADE SCHOOL SCIENCE:
By analyzing the seismograms from many earthquakes, scientists have discovered that three main levels or shells exist within the Earth:

CRUST The Earth's outermost surface is called the crust. The crust is typically about 25 miles thick beneath continents, and about 6.5 miles thick beneath oceans. The crust is relatively light and brittle. Most earthquakes occur within the crust. The crust in this image is much smaller in the real earth!

MANTLE The region just below the crust and extending all the way down to the Earth's core is called the mantle. The mantle is relatively flexible so it flows instead of fracturing.

CORE Beneath the mantle is the Earth's core. The Earth's core consists of a fluid outer core and a solid inner core. Because the outer core contains iron, when it flows it generates a magnetic field. This is the source of the Earth's magnetic field.

Because most of the Earth is not directly accessible, Earth scientists must use a combination of remote sensing techniques, inverse theory, theoretical models, and laboratory experiments to infer the properties of the Earth's interior.

Until next time,

Hey, I bet those flying whales from space are going to live inside the hollow earth after they destry human cvilization.

It's these kinds of threads that makes me hesitant to invite those "less accustomed" to OBE and the like to the forums here...but oh well, to each his own.

Seriously, though, the idea of a the earth being hollow reminds me of something a half drunk caller from the South might say on the Art Bell show at 4:30 AM when sane people are sleeping, but oh well.

(According to The Guinness Book of Film)

1. "...Bond. James Bond."

2. "Of all the gin joints in all the towns in all the world, she walks into mine."

3. "Well, it's not the men in your life that counts, it's the life in your men."

4. "I'll be back."

5. "Would you be shocked if I put on something more comfortable?"

6. "Life is like a box of chocolates; you never know what you're gonna get."

7. "I could dance with you till the cows come home. On second thought, I'd rather dance with the cows when you came home."

8. "Frankly, my dear. I don't give a damn."

10. "Gimme a whiskey, ginger ale on the side...and don't be stingy, baby."

The most common line in all movies, surveying all Hollywood films from the late 30s to the mid 70s was: "Let's get out of here!"

Anything that that helps you think outside of the box is progress.  In fact, anything that makes you think you might have progressed is progress, at least in my opinion.  It's all about deep physical relaxation, no fear and a desire to learn/experience something positive.

Also, do good stuff when you're awake too! (:

I think "drugs" as an experience (and I am thinking of psychadelic drugs in particularly, because I think most stimulants such as cocain, meth, etc. as well as other drugs such as nicotine are PURE junk and have no good effects), anyway, drugs like any experience can have negative or positive effects.  I think the negative far outweighs the positive however... for example, if the effect they have on you is to do more and more of them, then well, you're sucked in and are going to destory yourself eventually (either spiritually, physically or mentally, or all three).

Having said all that, I state unequivocally that drugs offer a quick, easy and unpure/defilesway to open the doors of perception.  In fact they don't usually open the doors, they throw them open and what is left is usually a convulted experience that can lead to awide variety of reactions, everything from temporary enlightenment to suicide.

Below are some links to a couple of discussions we have had regarding this matter here in the forum in the past:

Welcome to Astral Chat! / Bush vs Saddam Debate

First of all, allowing Sadaam a chance such as this would be his biggest dream.  It would play into his sick dillusion that he is a democratic leader.  It would also give him the chance to use sophistry and rhetoric to try and sound like he actually has some dignity and humanity left in his heart.

No matter what ANYONE thinks about this war, one thing everyone in their right mind realizes is that Sadaam is a sick, violent person...he is a man, according to his wife, who sits down and watches video taped recording of woman being raped and men having their throats slit.  He is a secular leader who acts like he cares about Muslims and the Islamic religion.

I could go on and on... I think it's interesting that people actually take something like this seriously.

Here are some wild, deep and sometimes silly lyrics from some of my favorite bands:

Spies

I awake to find no peace of mind,
I said, how do you live as a fugitive?

Down here where I cannot see so clear.

I said, what do I know?
Show me the right way to go,
And the spies came out of the water,
But you're feeling so bad cos you know,
And the spies hide out in every corner,
But you can't touch them no,
Cos they're all spies, they're all spies.

I awake to see that no one is free,
We're all fugitives,
Look at the way we live.
Down here, I cannot sleep from fear no.

I said, which way do I turn?
I forget everything I learn,
But the spies came out of the water,
But you're feeling so bad cos you know,
and the spies hide out in every corner,
But you can't touch them though,
Cos they're all spies, they're all spies.

And if we don't hide here,
They're going to find us,
If we don't hide now,
They're going to catch us where we sleep,
And if we don't hide here,
They're going to find us.

Sparks

Did I drive you away?
I know what you'll say,
You say, "Oh, sing one we know,"
But I promise you this,
I'll always look out for you,
That's what I'll do.

I say "oh,", I say "oh."

 My heart is yours,
It's you that I hold on to,
That's what I do,
And I know I was wrong,
But I won't let you down,
(Oh yeah, oh yeah, oh yeah, yeah I will, yes I will...)

I say "oh," I cry "oh."

Yeah I saw sparks,
Yeah I saw sparks,
And I saw sparks,
Yeah I saw sparks,

Sing it out.

 La, la, la, la, oh...
La, la, la, la, oh...
La, la, la, la, oh...

Yellow

Look at the stars,
Look how they shine for you,
And everything you do,
Yeah, they were all yellow.

I came along,
I wrote a song for you,
And all the things you do,
And it was called "Yellow."

So then I took my turn,
Oh what a thing to have done,
And it was all "Yellow."

Your skin
Oh yeah, your skin and bones,
Turn into something beautiful,
You know, you know I love you so,
You know I love you so.

I swam across,
I jumped across for you,
Oh what a thing to do.

Cos you were all "Yellow,"
I drew a line,
I drew a line for you,
Oh what a thing to do,
And it was all "Yellow."

Your skin,
Oh yeah your skin and bones,
Turn into something beautiful,
And you know for you,
I'd bleed myself dry for you,
I'd bleed myself dry.

It's true, look how they shine for you,
Look how they shine for you,
Look how they shine for,
Look how they shine for you,
Look how they shine for you,
Look how they shine.

Look at the stars,
Look how they shine for you,
And all the things that you do.

Trouble

Oh no, I see,
A spider web is tangled up with me,
And I lost my head,
The thought of all the stupid things I said,
Oh no what's this?
A spider web, and I'm caught in the middle,
So I turned to run,
The thought of all the stupid things I've done,

I never meant to cause you trouble,
And I never meant to do you wrong,
And I, well if I ever caused you trouble,
Oh no, I never meant to do you harm.

Oh no I see,
A spider web and it's me in the middle,
So I twist and turn,
Here I am in my little bubble,

Singing, I never meant to cause you trouble,
I never meant to do you wrong,
And I, well if I ever caused you trouble,
Oh no, I never meant to do you harm.

They spun a web for me,
They spun a web for me,
They spun a web for me.

*** Thanx a lot to Raeford who corrected this one ***

Parachutes

In a haze, a stormy haze, I'll be round
I'll be loving you always, always.
Here I am and I'll take my time
Here I am and I'll wait in line always
Always.

High Speed

Can anybody fly this thing?
Before my head explodes,
Or my head starts to ring.

We've been living life inside a bubble,
We've been living life inside a bubble.

Confidence in you,
Is confidence in me,
Is confidence in high speed.

Can anybody stop this thing?
Before my head explodes,
Or my head starts to ring.

We've been living life inside a bubble,
We've been living life inside a bubble.

 Confidence in you,
Is confidence in me,
Is confidence in high speed.

 In high speed,
High speed.

High speed you on,
High speed you on,
High speed you on ,
High speed you on.

We Never Change

I want to live life, and never be cruel
I wanna live life, and be good to you

And i wanna fly
I'll never come down
And live my life
And have friends around

We never change do we no, no
We never learn do we
So i wanna live, in a wooden house
I wanna live life, and always be true
I wanna live life, and be good to you

And i wanna fly
But never come down
And live my life
And have friends around

We never change do we
We never learn do we
So i wanna live in a wooden house
And making more friends would be easy

Oh, and i don't have a soul to save
Yes and i sin every single day
We never change do we
We never learn do we

So i want to live in a wooden house
Where making more friends would be easy
I wanna live where the sun comes out

Everything's Not Lost

When I counted up my demons,
Saw there was one for everyday.
With the good ones on my shoulder,
I drove the other ones away.

So if you ever feel neglected,
And if you think all is lost,
I'llbe counting up my demons, yeah,
Hoping everything's not lost.

When you thought that it was over,
You could feel it all around.
Everybody's out to get you,
Don't you let it drag you down.

If you ever feel neglected,
And if you think all is lost.
I'll be counting up my demons, yeah,
Hoping everything's not lost.

If you ever feel neglected,
And if you think all is lost.
I'll be counting up my demons, yeah,
Hoping everythings not lost.

Sing out oh oh oh yeah
Oh oh yeah
Oh oh yeah
Everything's not lost
Come on yeah
Oh oh yeah
Come on yeah
Everything's not lost
Oh oh yeah
Oh oh yeah
Oh oh yeah
Everything's not lost
Come on yeah
Oh oh yeah
Come on yeah
Come on yeah
Oh oh yeah
Come on yeah
Everything's not lost
Sing out yeah
Oh oh yeah
Come on yeah
Everyting's not lost
Come on yeah
Oh oh yeah
Sing out yeah
Everything's not lost

Life is for living

Now I never meant,
To do you wrong,
That's what I came here to say.

 But if I was wrong,
Then I'm sorry,
I don't let it stand in our way.

 As my head just aches,
When I think of,
The things that I shouldn't have done.

But, life is for living,
We all know,
And I don't wanna live it alone.

 Sing,
Ah, ah, oh,
Sing,
Ah, ah, oh,

And just think,
Ah, ah, oh.

Groove as your soul sings
spinnin' all around as we dust a melody
groove as your soul sings
spinnin' all around

Welcome to this groove, you can move right
we gonna take you higher (higher)
not caught in the quagmire (mire)
I can't survive on a stupid nine to five
I'd rather be poor writing tunes livin' on a commune
kickin' it with my brothers (brothers)
and significant others (others)
life in pursuit of only money, we think it's funny
the only thing that money it could ever bring to me
would be some gifts for my friends
follow me now, trips for my family
the only thing I love is freedom (freedom)
the people around me I need them (I need them)
I'd like to build the world a spliff, but like I said I said
you could never get me interested in dreams of wealth
myself my birthday happens to land on April 12th, wack

A Coney Island of the mind it's mine
I swipe the sweets, strip the beats in the sunshine
loco holmes because I'm thinking
a tone poem alone is love medicine
then the demon, spring revolution in my spirit
here it is and I will kill with it

Traveling head spinnin' from the medicine
illusions fadin' out and comin' on again
unwind your mind then find entire minutes
abstract the tract of sight day breaking in it
doles out my share of the world, ocean and sun
rising with a whirling motion (aw, yeah)

I fought, kicked and screamed my way to getting born
now I feel warm and I say come on
the night won't save anyone
wont you roam we've grown so we can write
again our soul select its own way for the travellin'
we're here, we're breathing
and we wanna keep our blood running
so we're gonna keep gunning till the next homecoming
I like the boogie to the bang bang boogie say up
jump the boogie to the bang bang come on

10. Evolution - (4:17)
(starshines)

My computer is future shockin'
download this and you'll start talkin'
upgraded, you're now walkin'
compatible with all that is rockin'
comin' on fast, it's getting' digital
it's so huge, like a spiritual
rippling out to every individual
this is life, it is a miracle

Evolution has exponential timing
it'll be half as long
till the next breakthrough that blows our mind
its up to the people to brave on with experimentation
move forth the species
by using our imagination

But can we handle it
could we dismantle it
or should we fear the void
and just be para-paranoid?
if it's understood
it could be used for good, and would
if you will believe in
all we can conceive

On the periodic table they got it all wrong
let me lay it down for you in this song
people want PT, they want AU
but lemme tell you what you really ought to do
figure out ways to master silicon
fiber-optic connectors, whatever's beyond
so many people don't even attempt to understand
the limitless possibilities of man

Evolution has exponential timing
it'll be half as long
till the next breakthrough that blows our mind
its up to the people to brave on with experimentation
move forth the species
by using our imagination

But can we handle it
could we dismantle it
or should we fear the void
and just be para-paranoid?
if it's understood
it could be used for good, and would
if you will believe in
all we can conceive

I feel trapped, i gotta adapt
remain calm collecting before I get zapped
my computer is a rebel, acting all fine and
just like that payin' me no mind
what's up, is it's program over come by a glitch
is it becoming conscious
and if so, ain't that a grump
i'll paid too much for this piece
i'll be damned if it tries any funny business
it'll be the one that pays the price

Evolution has exponential timing
it'll be half as long
till the next breakthrough that blows our mind
its up to the people to brave on with experimentation
move forth the species
by using our imagination

using our imagination

But can we handle it
could we dismantle it
or should we fear the void
and just be para-paranoid?
if it's understood
it could be used for good, and would
if you will believe in
all we can conceive

Yes we can handle it
we could dismantle it
we should not fear the void
and just be para-paranoid
if it's understood
it could be used for good, and would
if you will believe in
all we can conceive

Welcome to Astral Chat! / Funny Posts Only...

My buddy sent me this, some of it is dumb but a lot of it is true/funny:
------------------
Not sure, but believe this is from George Carlin.
At any rate, there's some good stuff here, even
if it might be considered an oldie.....

-I like big cars, big boats! , big motorcycles, big houses and big
campfires. I believe the money I make belongs to me and my family, not some
governmental stooge with a bad comb-over who wants to give it away to
crack addicts for squirting out babies.

-Guns do not make you a killer. I think killing makes you a killer.
You can kill someone with a baseball bat or a car, but no one is trying to
ban you from driving to the ball game.

-I believe they are called the Boy Scouts for a reason, that is why
there are no girls allowed. Girls belong in the Girl Scouts!

-I think that if you feel homosexuality is wrong, it is not a phobia,
it is an opinion.

- I don't think being a minority makes you a victim of anything except numbers.
The only things I can think of that are truly discriminatory
are things like the United Negro College Fund, Jet Magazine, Black
Entertainment Television, and Miss Black America. Try to have things like the
United Caucasian College Fund, Cloud Magazine, White Entertainment Television,
or Miss White America and see what happens. Jesse Jackson will be
knocking down your door.

-I have the right "NOT" to ! be tolerant of others because they are different, weird,
or tick me off.

-When 70% of the people who get arrested are black, in cities where 70% of the
population is black, that's not racial profiling, it is the law of statistics.

-I know what sex is, and there are not varying degrees of it. If I received sex from
one of my subordinates in my office, it wouldn't be a private matter or my persona
business. I would be "FIRED" immediately!

-I believe that if you are selling me a milk shake, a pack of cigarettes, a newspaper
or a hotel room, you must do it in English! As a matter of fact, if you want to be an
American citizen you should have to speak English!. My father and grandfather
shouldn't have to die in vain so you can leave the countries you were born in to
come over and disrespect ours.

-I think the police should have every right to shoot your sorry butt if you threaten
them after they tell you to stop. If you can't understand the word "freeze" or "stop"
in English, see the above lines.

-I feel much safer letting a machine with no political affiliation recount votes when
needed. I know what the definition of lying is.

-I don't think just because you were not born in this country, you are qualified for
any special loan programs, government sponsored bank loans or tax breaks, etc.,
so you can open a hotel, coffee shop, trinket store, or any other business. We
did not go to the aid of certain foreign countries and risk our lives in wars to defend
their freedoms so that decades later they could come over here and tell us our
constitution is a living document and open to their interpretations.

-I don't hate the rich. I don't pity the poor. I know wrestling is fake, but so are
movies and television, and that doesn't stop you from watching them.

-I believe a self-righteous liberal or conservative with a cause is more dangerous
than a Hell's Angel with an attitude.

-I think Bill Gates has every right to keep every penny he made and continue to
make more. If it ticks you off, go and invent the next operating system that's
better and put your name on the building. Ask your buddy that invented the
Internet to help you.

-It doesn't take a whole village to raise a child right, but it does take a parent to
stand up to the kid and smack their little butt' when necessary and say "NO.

-"I think tattoos and piercing are fine if you want them, but please don't pretend
they are a political statement. And Please stay home until that new lip ring heals,
I don't want to look at your ugly infected mouth as you serve me fries!

-I am sick of "Political Correctness" and of all the suck ups that go along with it.
I know a lot of black people, and not a single one of them was born in Africa, so
how can they be "African Americans"? Besides, Africa is a continent. I don't go
around saying I am a European American because my great, great, great, great,
great, great grandfather was from Europe. I am proud to be from America and
nowhere else.

And if you don't like my point of view, tough

Welcome to Astral Chat! / Eternal Life

No...no ring, including "the preeccciiious!" will give you eternal life.

You want my serous take?  Maybe not, but here it is anyway: all of us are IMMORTAL (of course our bodies here die and we move on, but it's the life force, the energy, spirit, astral body WHATEVER you want to call it, that is immortal).

Eternal life, on the other hand, is something all together different and MUST be earned.  It is perfection and never ending progression of intelligence, progeny (family) and love.  It is something too wondeful to be comprehended in this life...

Word up!  [:P]

Salutations and congratulations.  I thought I caught on late but when I looked at the stats, I realized I somewhat of an "old timer" myself, at least compared to a lot of members.
