I feel for you man. I wish you every success.

I dont know anything about magic though sorry. I just felt compelled to say something having read such a long post.
#602
lol maybe you could try reversing it. Stir with your toe while targetting your hand and see if you get sensations in your foot.
#603
I dont have a wealth of experience but I manage to get 'out' a couple of times a month these days.

If by some strange coincidence you happen to live in the west end of glasgow then pm me your address and I'll give it a try. If you live anywhere else then there's no chance of me finding your house.

Root: under-active (-50%)
Sacral: under-active (-88%)
Navel: under-active (-25%)
Heart: under-active (-12%)
Throat: open (12%)
Third Eye: open (56%)
Crown: over-active (62%)

From the energy sensations I get when I do chakra work I expected throat and sacral to come bottom so it was half right. I dont buy those percentages though.

You're so nearly there man. Try not to get too frustrated. You will manage it sooner or later.

The only thing I can think to tell you is dont try so hard. If you get to the stage where you're seeing random stuff dont try and forcibly visualise things. Just be aware of whats there. You dont have to try and look at it, just be aware that somethings there. Things will come and go and start to solidify all by them self and before you know it you'll be immersed in another reality. You dont need to jump into the images.

Man this is frustrating. I've just spent 20 minutes trying to verbalise my thoughts and repeatedly having to delete what I've typed and start again. I cant even phrase questions properly, they keep falling short of what it is I'm wondering. I might not even be onto anything at all. All I can be sure of is that my mind is trying to comprehend something it's not currently capable of. I'll just have to leave my subconscious working on it behind the scenes and hope for the best.

I find it heartening to see someone progressing to the levels you are acheiving. Truly inspiring. You have my warmest wishes.

Oh ok, thats put my mind at ease. Thanks.

Nothing freaky so far today.

It's starting to freak me out. Apart from one incident as a child I havent experienced anything like this before.

It started earlier today when I was standing in a take-away waiting for some food. I kept thinking someone had come into the shop and was standing behind me but when I looked there was no one there. Happened 4 times in the shop. I would hear what sounded like footsteps and then feel a prescence behind me.

Then for the rest of the day I kept seeing things out the corner of my eye. At first I was thinking it was a bit of fluff hanging from the edge of my glasses or something but I checked and it wasnt. A couple of hours ago it got much worse. It was like every few minutes I would see something just to the side of where I was looking or just above but when I would look there was nothing there. The longer it went on the closer I would get to looking right at it before it would disapear. I started hearing weird noises then as well so I just left the house I was in and its stopped now thankfully.

Does anyone know how to stop this kind of thing happening?

I can only think of a few things that might be causing this. I was thinking it might be a result of all the chakra work I've been doing but I dont really want to stop that.

The other thing I've been thinking is it might be because I asked for a helper the other night when trying to obe. I had my arm out but couldnt manage anything else so asked for a helper. I had never done that before. The next thing I knew it felt like something/someone was pushing my legs up towards me into the foetal position. Then the duvet started moving in strong waves towards me from the edge of the bed as if it was trying to push me off the other side. Is that a normal type of help? Since I've started seeing these things today I've been worrying that maybe this entity has been following me around. If it is I've got no reason to think it means me any harm but it's still freaking me out. I dont mind things being there but I'd rather not see them.

Any thoughts or advice?

This is a different scenario.  Ryan is telling me I don't know the facts of my own past.  Give me a break.

I'm not having a go at you. Sorry if it came across that way. I honestly did just realise that about myself.

In reading this debate I realised something about myself.

I sometimes felt an undefined emotion that I didnt like when reading some of Xanth's posts where he stated certain opinions as fact. When experienceing this, my instinct was trying to blame the unpleasant emotion on Xanth as if he had done something wrong, but at the same time my intelect was saying he's decent guy who tries to help people and is just expressing his opinion.

I've realised that my problem was in the level of confidence he had in his opinions. If they dissagreed with what I thought, I (without realising it) felt like he was unequivacally telling me my beliefs were wrong;  something that would get most peoples backs up. He was, of course, not saying any such thing; he was just confidently expressing his opinion.

I now realise that it might often be the case that when I have a problem with a particularly confident person, the problem is with me and not them.

(Sorry for taklling about you in the third person Xanth. It was a toss up between third person which is rude or adressing you directly which might have seemed confrontational until you realised I wasnt actually having a go at you.)

I've been contemplating the implications of what you say. While doing so I keep getting to a point where I feel like I'm very nearly realizing something very deep but when I try to put it into words my train of thought only takes me so far before my mind just gets completely boggled.

Quoteare your experiences logged around here somewhere?

I dont have that many experiences to speak of. I've only been into this astral stuff for 6 months or so. I've posted most of my firsts just out of the need to share my exitement(first obe, first AP, etc) but I havent got anything particularly interesting to share yet.

I like "measurement" more.
Just my preference.

A measurement of change

No wait.. a measurement of definition

TIME IS A DEFINITION!

lol I feel like I've been brainwashed or something.

Just to be pedantic, time isnt a definition. The word time is a definition.. or rather has a definition.

I've projected on painkillers several times. Nothing particularly strong though just paracetamol and anti-inflamatories. Unless the ones you're on get you high I wouldnt worry about it.
#614
Waking up from normal sleep I think I pretty much always open my eyes. Hard to be sure though as it takes a minute for my mind to start in the morning.

From a lucid dream I can keep them closed if I want.

If I wake up after having fallen asleep doing energy work or listening to a hemisync cd then I usually wake up in a really calm state with my eyes closed.

Nothing in your account makes me doubt it was an obe. Becoming aware of your body from a dream is a way way to convert a dream to an obe.

The black and white thing sounds familiar although I cant remember where I read about it before. Your sight can be funny when you're near your real body.

Dont worry about your body appearing to move when you looked at it. Reality isnt that stable when out of body, weird things can happen.

Robert bruce spoke of being able to see in every direction at once. I think he called it spherical sight. Personally I've only experienced infront and behind like you. The first significant AP I had I thought there was a pane of glass infront of me all the time. I could see the reflection of what was behind me while looking through it at what was infront of me.

Congrats!

Wow this asking thing must have had a big effect on me cause I just phased for the first time this morning and its only been six days since I asked.

I say the first time but I did have a WILD once and now I'm starting to think phasing and WILDing might be the same thing or at least very similar.

What exactly is the difference?

I woke up too early this morning, couldnt get back to sleep so tried to have an obe. I got tired of making an effort so tried to phase instead with the more passive approach of just noticing. Started sort of seeing imagery but not full blown vision. My awareness kept coming back to my body too much and spoiling it. Didnt get frustrated though, nothing better to do at that time of the morning so I just stayed still and kept at it.

The imagery was getting more and more solid and I was becoming less and less aware of my body each time I remembered it. After a while I became fully immersed in what I thought was an astral environment. I flew around for a while untill I saw someone I know from real life which made me pause. If I'm imagining people from my life does that mean I'm having a WILD instead of phasing I thought.

Questioning my reality like that brought my awareness back to my body again but not enough to fully wake me up. I could feel my body and that my eyelids were closed but I could still see. This was only the second time I've had astral sight while still being stuck in my body. I sat there for a bit just thinking how cool my arm looked as I waved it infront of my face. It was like when the predator has his cloaking device turned on.

Wasnt able to get any more than my arm out of body so for the first time ever I asked for the aid of a helper. Woah! Suddenly something was pushing my legs up towards me into the foetal position. I almost freaked out but the fact that nothing had happened till I asked kept me calm enough. Then the duvet started moving in waves from the side of the bed towards me like it was trying to push me off the side of the bed. The duvet was making quite a bit of noise and I was worried the people in the other room might hear it(silly I know). So to stop it all I just somehow phased myself out of that reality and into another. No idea how I did it but I did it very quickly.

From where I was I tried visiting a place in the RTZ by thinking about it. I got to a version of that place but it looked like hundreds of years later as there was just a tiny amount of ruins left of the building(its a massive sandstone building) and the landscape had changed alot. I wanted the building to be as it is now and somehow it suddenly was. I was trying to fly up to the top of it when I became aware of my body again.

Didnt move when I came back to my body. Did the noticing thing and phased in and out several more times before I decided to get up.

Sorry for the long post. I didnt intend to write so much. Just wanted to ask what the difference between phasing and WILDing is and what other people experience if they try to visit a real life place when they're phasing.

Hi, katie. I'm also from the uk(Glasgow).

The title of you post reminds me how lucky we are to have the internet. Imagine trying to find open-minded enough people to talk to this stuff about in the pre-internet days.

I'm sure you'll have more obe's if you want them. You've done it once now so you already know you're capable.

Welcome to Dreams! / Re: dreams that really hurt?
September 26, 2010, 03:53:54
Maybe subconsciously you're worried about being attacked.

Maybe you're reliving how you died in previous lives.

Maybe they're all premonitions and you're going to have a really bad day lol (just kidding)

Maybe, and this is usually the case in my dreams, theres a deeper meaning that only you will be able to perceive and only then with a good bit of thought and introspection. Do you know the people who shoot/stab you in the dreams? If so, what part of your own personality might they represent? A certain aspect of your behaviour might be causing you harm or pain and your subconscious is trying to let you know you should change. What qualities/characteristics do you associate with scorpions?

Sometimes dreams can be all about you, the people you dream about can represent part of yourself or things that you do, the objects in the dream also can, same goes for what actually happens. If a dream seems significant to me I look at it from as many different angles as possible until I come up with the meaning that seems right to me. Just keep asking yourself questions. Think of dreams as your subconscious trying to communicate with you using imagery as if you're playing a really complex game of pictionary. If you could only communicate using imagery what message do you think you would use that scenario for?

I dont know how all this healing and sending prayers stuff works.

If I spend 5 minutes on, 'May Melchior find time to relax' when I'm meditating will that be any help?
#620
I only ever experienced the vibrations during my early failed attempts. Dont get them anymore for successful or unsuccessful attempts.

I suspect that might be because of all the energy/chakra work I've done since my first attempts but I'm just guessing.

Cool story. Dont really have any insight for you though.

It reminds me of a giant thing that had me pinned down from behind once. I couldnt see it either but I knew it was there and it was causing me a lot of pain. I remember agreeing to do what it said although I wasnt consciously aware of what it was saying. It was like I wasnt being allowed to hear what instructions I was being given. I reached up and felt a furry thing sticking out of my ear. It was just poking out a little and was solidly anchored within my head. It wouldnt move at all. It felt kind of like the back end of a bee but without the sting.

The more this scary stuff happens and you still keep waking up unharmed the more comfortable you should get with it.

lol I like how even with all that stuff going on you still took the time to put your internet back on.

I find the simultaneous awareness thing intriguing. Hadnt given it any thought. I've only had fleeting moments of it.

I've been aware of my physical body when in the void. You were saying you dropped back to the void from a non-physical reality yet retained awareness of yourself in the dream as if the part of you experiencing it remained there; at the same time you were aware of your physical body and also of being in the void. Did I get that right? If you include the void that's like three places at once. Very cool.

Do you think maybe the you in the dream might always there? Like there're you's for all your dreams and they're always there to be tuned into?

I get a short transition period when I'm about to wake up from a lucid dream where I start to become aware of my body but am still aware of the fading dream environment I'm in. I've found if I catch this moment before it's too late I can flip up, twist and fall back to reenter the void and go from there into another dream. In these circumstances I dont get into the void as quickly as I normally do though. I fall and twist through a sort of cloudy place first. While there I still have a faint awareness of the dream environment I'm leaving and my body thats trying to wake up.

You've got me wondering if I should try and prolong my time in the cloudy place to examine the multiple awareness thing. One thing I couldnt be clear on from what you said gave me pause for thought though. Were you saying you're starting to get the simultaneous awareness thing when you're awake? Cause I dont think I could handle that. I've got a fragile enough grip on reality as it is.

Thanks for posting this. It got me thinking.

I'm going to have to work my way through all your videos now.

I'll echo Syke and say I think a dream diary is important. The more you are aware of your dreams the more likely you are to become aware within them.

Even if you only remember small fragments at first, before long you'll remember more and more. Dont reach for your diary as soon as you wake up, lie in the position you wake in until you've remembered as much as you can. Then turn onto your other side and lie like that for a while, it can bring back memories of dreams you had when you were lieing on that side.

When you get a fair bit of material in your diary you can look through it for recurring things that can act as signs that you're dreaming. For example, there was a period where I was occasionally having dreams where I was eating tuna. In real life I'm a vegitarian so I added tuna to my list of dream signs. I would repeatedly think throughout the day, 'tuna means I'm dreaming, tuna means I'm dreaming', with a sense of importance that I had to remeber it. It got to the point that whenever I saw tuna I would imediately question whether I was dreaming.

Most of my best recurring dream signs are things from my past that are no longer present in my life. Houses I used to live in, pets I used to have, I still dream about smoking weed even though I dont anymore..etc

Make sure to berate yourself whenever a dream sign doesnt make you lucid and resolve to notice it next time.

It might seem like a lot of work at first but getting to know your dreams can be quite rewarding.

If you believe you can then you can. I once had a kind of conversation with my dog although I hadnt pulled him out of his body. He was just there.

Some will say it's not really your dog but just a creation of your expection. There's no real way to be sure..unless..while out of body you could try and train you dog to react to something in a certain way and then see if they did it irl.

Hello, pleased to meet you  :-)

Hadn't heard of Buhlman before. Will see if the library has either of his books. I'm always looking for good book reccomendations.
