Welcome to Members Introductions! / Re: hi all

Hello ampzeit, welcome to the forum.  :-)

How exactly do I do that? I have looked around on the forum but couldn't find it.

I know many of the other forum members are projecting and astral travelling sometimes or often, but because I don't have these experiences yet I would like to share how I became aware of my astral body, which happened quite recently. I became more interested in obe's in December last year and started to read books and look on forums. At the same time these experiences started to happen.
(Dec. 14-'08)  I woke up one morning but I didn't move and kept my eyes closed. Then I felt how I was going downwards about 4 inches, slowly. It felt very soft and I thought it was great. It was the first time ever that I felt my astral body.

(Dec.29-'08)  I woke up and for a moment I felt hands around my face. When I opened my eyes there was no one.

(Feb.6-'09)  I felt how my legs were moving, but my physical legs were still. It felt very peculiar.

(April 5-'09)  I woke up in the night and for a moment felt very light, weightless. It was great and I wanted it to have lasted longer.

(April 6-'09)  I woke up in the morning and I felt that I was smiling, and then that smile disappeared. But, my physical face was relaxed and not smiling so it must have been my astral face. Again, it felt very peculiar. And I was wondering why I was smiling.

Perhaps this is a sign that an obe will occur in the future. I had many other experiences in the same period of time but they problably better fit in one of the other forums. (spirituality).  :-)

Hello pixielady, I am a kindred spirit but never had a conscious obe either. Nice to meet you here.  :-)

Wow, what an amazing experience astrowytch! And yes, the fear of the unknown. But you are improving. Perhaps this will happen again and then you take another step forward, and the next time you will do it! You have already overcome the fear of all the other phenomena happening around the exit. So don't kick yourself, I am sure it won't take long before you will have your first adventure in the astral zone!

I'm from the Netherlands astrowytch. Yes I do try to get an obe, but not as actively like others. I like to work with intention and intuïtion more and don't know all the techniques other members are using. I am getting experiences bit by bit and when I am ready for it I think it will happen. I was once close to leaving my body, and when that starts to happen more often then I will order a book by a Dutch author, in which 24 methods of AP are explained. This woman has written 3 books about obe's and I have read them all. The book with the AP methods is very clear and easy to read. I apparantly have had some projections but I didn't know they were. It is called 'phasing' and this morning I had one again, althoug it was quite short. I may start a topic on some of these experiences.  :-)

Thanks Stookie, I going to try NEW, it sounds very interesting and something that indeed might work for me, I have never heard of it before. (However, I heard about Robert Bruce and I happen to have ordered his book Astral Dynamics last week.) I think it is exactly what I need, also because of the other benefits that were mentioned on the website.

And Lighten thank you too for the tip, I will also use that one. I have also found a few tips on the web myself, drink water before and after the meditation and/or meditate every other day instead of every day.  :-)

Hello Stookie. No I don't feel at all similar to waking up in the morning. In fact I have the same problem if I take a nap during daytime, that is why I never do that.
Well, the goals of my meditations are : to feel relaxed during the day, so not only during the meditation. I would also like to feel more balanced, because sometimes I react to stressfull and too nervous to unexpected situations. And I would like to experience more/longer AP's which I recently learned from CFTraveler, are phasingexperiences. To become more quiet in my thinking. And ofcourse to get a better chance on having an obe. These are the main reasons.

The type of meditation I do is a simple one, I follow my breath with my awareness and try not to follow my thoughts but let them go and then try not to think. I don't use music or sounds.

With deep meditative state I mean that I am very relaxed, I start to feel heavy in my chair and the outside world seems to disappear.

I haven't used other methods, I don't really know a lot of other ones and have read that this was a good one to begin with. I hope this is enough information for you to find an answer.

Hello astrowytch, nice to meet you here on the forum. I look forward to hearing some of your experiences with obe's. I am quite new to the forum also and I never had a conscious obe so alas I can't answer your question. But I know there are a lot of members who are more experienced and may want to help you with it. Also you can find a lot of information in the posts everywhere, they are very interesting and informative.  :-)

That is a beautiful dream! But I think it could be an OBE. Sometimes you become aware in the middle of an OBE. At least that is what I think.
#638
I hope someone can help me with this problem. A few months ago I started to meditate everyday, because I read of all the benefits for your health and spiritual growth. But I have stopped again because of the following: after only a few minutes I am already in a very deep meditative state, is that normal? And when I stop after 10 minutes I feel kind of dizzy, or lightheaded/hazy. Like I'm not completely back in reality. I would like to meditate again but I don't like these feelings afterwards. So why do I have them and what can I do? Thank you in advance for any suggestions.

Hello Sahgwa, congratulations with your first astral projection. I am also quite new to the astral and have never had a concious projection but I think I can answer a few of your questions. I think that when you have pain or sports injuries your awareness will go to your body when it should go to your mind. You have to not feel your body anymore which is hard when you feel pain. So it is indeed better to wait until your muscles aren't sore anymore. And from what I have read, sometimes weeks or months can go by before you will have your next projection. The difference between an AP and an OBE to me is: AP is the actual leaving your body with all the symptoms that go with it like vibrations and buzzing sounds and more, where as an OBE is any experience that you are having outside your body, with or without your astral body. Perhaps you have already read it somewhere else on this forum by now, but I hope I have helped a bit. :-)

Yes, you phased into the Void.  It is a projection, not necessarily into an astral plane or focus.  This is a good experience, most people want to go there and can hardly.
There are many types of projections- all involve the focusing of consciousness- depending on the type of projection, some will be more 'realistic' and mechanical (OBE to the RTZ or etheric) and others will be more like melting into a landscape-phasing, for example.
They are all projections, what differs is the degree of closeness to the physical- but they are all projections.
Thank you Ancient one and CFTraveler. I had never heard of phasing before, I was very pleased with your answer CFTraveler. This means that I have these experiences without trying to get them which is a good sign. I am now trying to find more information about phasing, especially a way to extend the experiences because they are magic places to explore! I think now that I have had many more of these phasing-experiences as I read through my dreamjournals. I started having these images in 2006 but not as many and not always with the feelilng that I am really there. Also sometimes I see myself in these images, is that phasing as well or another type of projecting? Or could they be a kind of memory from some other type of projection? E.g. I saw myself saying goodbye with a hug to someone who was all dressed in white. This becomes more and more interesting.  :-D

Could it be that just my consciousness went out of my body and not my astral body? Like a rapid shift from one place (my body) to the spot between the stars and back again. If that is possible at all.
#642
Thank you Stookie and Vibra for welcoming me. I have already posted my first experience together with a question on '"Astral Experiences".
#643
Thank you astralmugee for answering. Your experience sounds very extraordinary, especially because it lasted at least 30 minutes. Mine only last 3 seconds at the most. I don't think it is a visualisation, because they are started with the intention of seeing something in particular. My images just happen out of the blue, while I am trying to fall asleep. They are in the hypnagogic state, but then with the full 3 dimensional feel and sight and the sensing of the atmosphere that goes with the image. I also get the normal hypnagogic images, they are more like watching a film, not at all the feeling that you are right there. I have had 3 of these 3-D experiences now since December 2008, that is when I started to get more interested in obe's and lucid dreaming.  :-)

This sounds great, I am going to try it until it works...
#645
One time I woke up and kept my eyes closed and tried to stay relaxed so I could fall alsleep again. Then suddenly I was between the stars and planets with an awsome 3D sight. It was so clear and sharp and I felt a certain atmosphere. It really felt like I was there. Alas it only lasted about 2 seconds. Was this some sort of obe? I would like to hear your opinions.
Thank you.

Hello Ancient_One,

Thank you for responding. I read a few of your stories on your blog and they are very interesting, especially the one about father Bo. It was like you joined that person's personality and body. I am sure it happened for real. Compared to your experiences mine are very small. I have only had AP's in a sort of semi-concious state, and I remember them in the morning like very vivid dreams with lots of vibrations and buzzing sounds. Same with astral travelling, I remember them as dreams but they aren't ordinary dreams. I have seen beautiful sights.

Hello everyone,

My name is Timandra, and I am from the Netherlands. I look forward to exchanging experiences, ideas, questions. I have had a few AP's, but never induced, and several other experiences that have to do with obe's. I read as much as I can about obe's and lucid dreaming and find it so interesting and intriquing. And I love to read other people's experiences. Greetings from the Netherlands, :-)
