Snakes and spiders seem to be relatively common entities to see, and they are usually not very nice. Many people have attacks/sleep terrrors when they are younger and snakes and spiders have to be up there as some of the most common forms to scare the hell out of people. I have a friend who sees large spiders (size of fist) crawling around sometimes when he wakes up in the mornings, but to date he doesn't seem to have experienced any attacks. I have another friend who used to have night terrors in which snapes and spider would be crawling all around him, falling through the ceiling etc and obviously, he hated it.
Personally I have never seen a spider but had a snake bite me in a dream and I felt it in my upper leg - ouch!

The spider was possibly getting ready to feed off you while you slept. Maybe it noticed you could see it and so puffed itself up to look big like so many animals do when confronted.

Oh and for what its worth, I remember reading some channeling on UFO's on Spiritweb (thought it was "Mission of the One Star" but can't find anything in it now), and one of the ET civilisations was spider creatures. Reminded me of what you said. They were on the whole negative in nature, like huge spiders. If I remember correctly they destroyed their planet by playing too much with black hole technology, or something.

I know it is damn hard not to be scared when you see something like that - I would be rushing adrenelin too - but unless it hurts you....
Gold is a good colour too. Maybe it has been reformed?!

Qui-Gon thanks so much for posting this up! I am now on my second interview - very recent one at:
http://playlist.yahoo.com/makeplaylist.dll?id=1010352&location=lng
I am listening to it now, it has some ones on bush at the end am told. He lost his son a while too, sounds very suspicious, very really terrible thing to happen and it seems like it was because of his work in the the reverse speech area. I guess there are a lot of people who are not happy with him.
Anyway this has given me a very reliable way of getting to the truth in politics and conspiracy theory stuff. I remember someone else on this thread said something similar but can't find who it was - but if you are interested in setting up a site exposing as much as possible get in touch. I am looking at bush interviews at the moment but don't have much time with exams and all. Will get on to it more seriously in the future though.
cheers!

Fenris I think if you actually want to involve your parents in any way the only thing you can do is work with what they already believe. OK so I am assuming they are not atheists or nihilists or anything like that, but for instance when I wanted to try and discuss magick with my dad I did it from a biblical christian perspective. If I had come straight out with the more extreme things it wouldn't have achieved anything, as it was I was able to get him to agree, at least in part.

wishing you luck

Ashfo your sequence of events is as I remember them. After the first plane struck there was ample time for jets to get into the air, who would at the very least have been prepared by then since they would have been informed about all the planes which were off course.

Kristen for an example of fighters intercepting a plane which has gone off course check out
http://www.1staf.tyndall.af.mil/defender/winter99/Feature2.htm
Communications problems become irrelevant in the middle of a crisis like 9/11. By the time the first plane had hit the entire airbase would have known what they needed to do - intercept and other planes which were off course. And they had shed loads of time to do this.

oops my bad not secretary of state, I meant the Vice President Cheney. For a link of what I was talking about see:
http://www.tenc.net/indict/indict-2.htm

Wasn't there that other little coincidence that a couple of weeks before the WTC changed their insurance to cover for terrorist attacks? How odd...

Of course, please feel free to tear down my arguments, I don't come here to have everyone agree with me! hehe

#730
In my conspiratorial opinion Bush knew about the attacks before they happened - he had to. Ashfo mentioned briefly what is for me the most compelling piece of evidence - that there is an airbase (I forget the name - Williams?) which is only 10 minutes from the pentagon. This base houses 2 flight ready squadrons of jet fighters AT ALL TIMES. Once the first plane crashed...no lets go before that. All flights in the US are tracked at all times (there are websites where you can watch their progress along the flight paths), and when any of these planes starts flying off their given course automatic procedure is for a fighter plane to "intercept" it. Especially when we are talking about huge passenger planes. They fly up there, find the plane, hold on its wing, try and hail them, see what they can see etc and the levels of warning go up and up until they start firing warning shots and, eventually, they might even shoot the plane down. This is a standard procedure and there is absolutely no easy explanation why NONE of the planes which crashed were intercepted. And yet even after the first plane struck, nothing, the USAF was nowhere to be seen. By that point the air above NY should have been stuffed with fighters - there were none. They only appeared AFTER the last plane had crashed. At the very worst, once the first plane had crashed, the others should have been spotted and intercepted (note this is very different to attacking them, although secretary of state would have you believe otherwise = spreading mis-information)

To order the airbase to keep all their planes grounded throughout the whole tradgedy would have required orders from the president himself. There simply is no other explanation.

Daniel - the media has only picked up on the most tentative pieces of evidence like the one which came out recently, and will inevitably get nowhere. To be blunt the press is in the pockets of their owners, who are in collaboration with the military-industrial-republican complex. Again, there is no other explanation except to say that the press is controlled in some way, otherwise why have they not picked up on the points above?

Anyone dissagree? To date I haven't heard anything near a reasonable refute for the above, but I hold hope!

Of course, yes, it was still an enormous tradgedy. As was the terrorist plane which was shot down with more exotic weapons later in NY - the one the press claimed was not terrorist (.....). The one where the back of the plane and its engine just "dropped off", and the black box recorder read g forces sideways of around 0.8 - impossible using normal theories - the turbulance one just doesn't hold (I study engineering, including aeronautical). And I believe the CIA still has not released the video recordings of the plane crashing, odd that.

I think one of the biggest problems in answering such a questionis that what people experience from drugs is always very subjective - ie some people get deeply into effects which others won't get near. But pot in general does seem to make relaxation and energy work easier while dissociating you from reality, but at the same time it can lower your vibrations and makes concentrating on one things for any length of time tricky so it's swings and roundbouts.
However I can now say that ketamine certainly does make it easier to project - no I haven't managed it, although I plan to experiment more in the next month or two. but I can say it brings on the vibrations and exit symptoms really fast. I plan to write a more in depth post about drugs and their effects soonish once my exams are out the way and I have more experience with special k.
Anyway try experimenting and report back with what you find - happy tripping!
Rob

ya I think having open discussions like this is a good thing. Honesty and open mindedness are two things I long to see more in the world around me.

Excellent, we have a do-er!

Frank would it help, do you think, if to try this you and Mobius or whoever could agree on a time and date (maybe a regular slot), and at that time Mobius could send out a strong telepathic signal to you? Would this help you find the place?
Just a thought....

and please guys - chill out!

"My [tax cut] plan is realistic because it avoids meaningless 15-year projections."
"It's important for us to explain to our nation that life is important. It's not only life of babies, but it's life of children living in, you know, the dark dungeons of the Internet."
"I know the human being and fish can coexist peacefully"
"I think if you know what you believe, it makes it a lot easier to answer questions. I can't answer your question"
"It's going to require numerous IRA agents."
--On Gore's tax plan,

I mean come on! When you have George Bush as president, well you gotta either get very serious or just laugh. Or both. Wonderful projections of different political system mean squat while you have people like that running countries and, more importantly, people letting and even loving it. Not sure what relevance that has but the quotes made me laught, just had to say something....lol

Hi guys!
I agree with oooh about 93% of the things said here but please don't just bash religion! Most people who are the clueless followers of say Christianity are just that, clueless. I am pretty sure every religion says something along the lines of "seek ye God", it doesn't matter much whether they are studying the Bible, Koran, etc so long as they are able to think for themselves, freely. The problems lie in people taking things as absolute truth, I am currently thinking dogma is formed by people regurgitating other peoples realisarions as their own, when really they do not in any way own that truth. Yes religion can be pretty closed minded but the cause of this is also a larger one in society (just look at scientists.....they really have their own dogma), which as I think someone has said is laziness instead of working it out for themselves. And as for the subject of religions just looking for power, well I have yet to meet a priest who lusts after control of the masses. While this may have once been true at the top of the vatican, it is a pretty rare thing. Most priests are just trying to live life to the highest principles they know while spreading the Word of God. Naively doing so some of the time, but their motives are true. And just look at the variety of churches out there, from the high catholics who take everything as read to the lower churches who just aren't sure. But aye I will certainly agree that it is a horrid mix of arrogance and ignorance (breeding eachother) to see people saying that their religion is "better" than everyone elses. Makes me cringe to say the least.
But still, it is very possible to ascent to God under any religion. I have said it before but the most Holy and wonderful person I have ever met is a Catholic Monsignor called Tony Agreiter, he simply radiates. On that matter, he was diagnosed with stomach cancer a while back and is now undergoing chemotherapy - any prayers and/or energy sent his way would be very beneficial and appreciated, please help!

Anyway, it is late in the morning for me too, I am sure that there is a lot I have forgotten to say but never mind

laters all!

(mmm tasty pill...lol http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/images/icon_Smile_cool.gif" border=0>)

btw I would not consider myself really belonging to any religion though i was brought up Christian, I suppose my need for new and interesting things just took hold too strongly!

Hi Athanasy, welcome to the forums!

I have wondered a lot about schizophrenia, had a friend who had to go into mental hospital once because of it, the year before he went to uni (the age 18-19 I know is quite a common time to "get" it - he is 95% better now I hear). I think all the things you are talking about seem to come from some sort of imbalance in the brain, I always think of it like the conscious mind is recieving too many impressions from the sub-conscious, which for most people would be blocked out. But this isn't to say that you are not in some way gifted with psychic abilities. The medical profession will always try to explain things within its own umbrella, which basically consists of "what is wrong", so all the psychic stuff gets frowned on. You can always just say "chemical imbalance within the brain causing hallucinations blah blah" but this explains nothing, because what caused the imbalance? And how is this directly affecting the mind?? Really, they don't have a clue. Energy perhaps. Did you ever had any night terrors or very frightening periods when you were younger, say 0-10? I have a theory this causes mental imbalance which in turn causes a forced opening of the subconscious mind with all its crazy impressions.
I think it is worth checking for entity attachments, because even if they were not the cause of the problems, they will still have been attracted to you, especially around the time when you were getting it really bad. Go check out all RB's basic psychic countermeasures if you are interested, they are definately worth trying.

Spastral: I live in Bath too!! Am a student at the uni, living up near the circus. Great place huh!!!

Great idea - what are you waiting for!
What kinds of things will you put on though?
Remember if you do do a website, to think: if you were suisidal, what would you type into a search engine?....the more people that see it the better.

good luck!

Interesting discussion
Frank - something you said really caught my eye:
quote:
Now, I don't need a 10 billion dollar research facility to find this out, because I can project within these finer states and discover them for free. Just as we have the Physical world composed of Atoms, we have the realms made of a much finer matter than Atoms we call the Astral. As I say, scientists are only now beginning to discover the existence of these finer particles of matter.

Could you describe precisely what you have seen?? I would love to hear more about this. I remember I asked a projector once who had done this and she said it was like small universes with no end to how tiny you could get. But I wonder how you would "see" an electron since it is "travelling" so immensely fast.

Welcome to Astral Chat! / Screen Names
May 06, 2002, 12:00:19
ummmm......
I was hoping you wouldn't ask!
But since you did - I got my name years ago when I first started going on the the net and especially when I started playing multiplayer first person shooter games (action quake 2 online rulezzz!!!!!!!!!), it has always been my screen name.
I actually got it from encyclopedea mythica - www.pantheon.org where it says "An evil Basque spirit of the night who strangles people in their sleep."http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/images/icon_Smile_evil.gif" border=0>

It was never intended for places like the psychic defence forum!!!!! So it is a bit inappropriate I suppose, but I have been using it for sooo long I can't turn back now! Still, I kinda like it, though it is occasionally confused with Iguana http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/images/icon_Smile_tongue.gif" border=0>. I guess I selected it because it ran with the hidden darker streak within me' head. I am a really nice guy in person and genuinly but I suppose there has always been a pushing towards the darker side segmented away somewhere. And so I thought it was cool.

and as for football - doesn't the name mean anything to you people????!!!!huh???!!!?? THINK!!! - Foot+Ball = football!!!! How did it all manage to go so wrong????
...lol...

Hi Felix!

You know, I am not entirely sure how to reply to your last post! But here goes...forgive me when I go off at tangent and ramble on but the whole "drugs" thing is something I have done a lot of thinking on and am quite passionate about!

Firstly, from the larger perspective everyone has their own conceptions on drugs (including alcohol in this category) but unfortunately many people base their views within one of the polarities - drugs are bad, evil, and to be avoided or drugs are great, should be made legal. The two ends set themselves completely at opposites, each seeing the other either as misguided, illogical and wasting their lives, or repressive, with no personal knowledge and horribly closed minded (on, say, a family scale this leads to the parents not even knowing their kids are doing drugs, so there is not even the possibility for improvement, quite the opposite). This is in no way helped by media perceptions, which are created by the big corporations and government. All of this leads to a block between the sides, hence little potential for change (oops hit another conspiracy! – note, illegality only serves to push up prices, lower the safety factor and in most cases increase drug use).
- When I say most people are like this, I am not aiming at forum folks, people here being much more open minded. But I hope you find it interesting.

So I try and see the bigger picture, but still all I can tell you my is perspective, which I try and make as close to the truth as I am capable of.

....

In the long term and in excess drugs are never a good thing. This is obvious but to what extent I cannot be sure. I have known a lot of pot heads and heavy drinkers. Each is as psychologically addictive as the other, but the numbers of people who get addicted is dependent upon the actual conscious reaction to a drug. Pot allows you to sit there and chill and do nothing, hence is easier to do in the long run. Drinking usually has to be within the whole "going out" mind state, with others, and entails a nasty hangover therefore cannot be done so much. For this reason I have seen larger numbers of dope heads than alcoholics, and some very nasty effects. It certainly isn't particularly compatible with spiritual advancement, but with jogging and all that? Smoking I guess isn't, but going out and getting drunk occasionally...can't hurt that much can it? I don't know about that, not being very enthusiastic towards exercise!
-   Again, most of this is long term stuff and probably not applicable, but it is so incredibly easy to slip into addictions. But unless you experience that I doubt you will appreciate it as fully.
-   The whole "addiction and dangerous" thing is about the only factual argument for the "ban drugs" people. And it completely forgets why people do it and is ultimately illogical (cos if it doesn't even cut use...)

....so then the short term...

On the plus side, drugs are immensely fun and can be even be useful! Not a lot else to say here, except that people with closed minds have often not even tried the drug, which misses a complete whole side of the story. So people who have tried them seriously are generally much more open minded, at least in some way balanced with their arguments (why, then, have none of the "drugs tzars" got any idea what they are babbling about??!?!)
Some might say this is sad, but I cannot think of one personal friendship which has not been made and/or cemented while not drugged in some way. This could just be my generation, but I have seen it so many times in myself and others. Having a really good time with people is probably the main factor, alcohol releases inhibitions....which may be a product of growing up, but I think they are an inherent product of the society we live in (humanity as a whole? Don't think is should be). Therefore it could be said that as society and the institutions of the day have "grown" so has drug use.
BUT in the short term I have no doubt that most drugs are very safe. For instance, I saw an newspaper article once raving about "death drug" ecstasy claiming 27 lives in the UK last year, and yet the headline was "2 million E's taken each week in Britain". I thought it was very ironic (....makes it extremely safe!) , but also incredibly blatant by the writer.

One interesting idea from a more mystic perspective is that when you immerse yourself in the physical, drugs socialising etc you by default open yourself up to the swings of the physical - in that you don't get something for nothing, its all up down up down etc. You get drunk you have a hangover(yuk!).

Eventually, I dunno, your choice man!!!!!!

quote:
I am a wery emotional person, I really need that kind of emotional, a bit dark music to survive, just like beeing out in nature- it´s wery romantic. In a 1800 centery kind of way.. seeing the moon and thinking about death !?
well, I guess you folks get my point...

Your sound like a goth! I love goths btw. You'll be writing really bad poetry about how black your heart is soon!
but yeah I know what you mean about music, does gooood things to my head.

To be honest with meditation, not so sure. After like, one or two beers I will also feel a bit lighter and nicer. More than that I start going out proper and that kinda makes it difficult! btw 1 glass of red wine a day is supposed to be healthy. I expect it works with other types of alcohol though!

Rob

Ps sorry for the time to reply, been busy and was going to try ketamine sunday, but didn't in manage to get any in the end. Maybe next week, I am very interested as to its effects, sounds....trippy.

Most these argumant seem to basically come down to, or seeming like, you don't care, if only to get back or "one over". Therefore the ultimate best state is just not to care. The most difficult, to geniunly not be bothered. Budhic??

#741
aha! But - does believing in things which are real that you have no experience in cause problems? I try not too but so so much points to OBE being real. I have got very near and trust many people who say they have.
perhaps, I am accepting a general collective truth rather than an objective or subjective one??
I think that there are 2 possibilities, believing in things you have no full experience in is:
-  bad, period
- opens you up to the possibility of belief system corruption, even though this is not necesarily going to happen

Just a couple of very quick points:

First, I don't mind women looking at men like that and so don't see much wrong in it going the other way round!
Except that polarising into good looking necessarily (at least to some extent) means you also have to classify "bad looking" which is usually bad, as it leads on to emotional and mental negativity (judging?)
But then there will always be some basic instintual drives to seek the sweet ones out http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/images/icon_Smile_tongue.gif" border=0>, even if what is "attractive" is entirely variable (just look at ancient pictures and statues....). Trends change.

.....sleeeeeeep

Anyway, about avatars- the little pictures- once we've chosen one, how do we go about getting it assigned to our names/posts?

Post the images to Adrian and he will put them up for you
I am not entirely sure if you can do it yourself

#744
Negs can send telepathic images at you, or your subsconsious mind might have been creating a representation of the energy it felt - most liklely a combination of both. Whenever I see images like that I hack and slash and tear them to shreds!!! Then torch the area and leave an ankh simmering over it (no idea why the ankh, it always just seems like a good idea!). Or perhaps a circle with a cross through it for containment.

#745
(phew!)

Mobius - I do not know whether Adrian knows the person who runs the Astral society, or even if he runs it himself. However, the basic forum is available from somewhere, and Adrian has been using this with some modifications, which is probably why it looks similar.
As for the avatar pictures, they will be available for use when we have some! This means that someone is going to have to make/find lots of little pictures and then let other people use them (you have the choice - personal avatar or let anyone use it). I might have a go at this, but doubt I will be very good. Like I said I can modify existing images, so if anyone has any....

#746
Tom - I never thought I would hear anyone else say that! When I first started drinking my lips, mouth, tongue and sometimes jaw would go numb too! But this slowly faded as I got used to drinking and I haven't got it for a few years now. Any idea what causes it? Your versions seems a bit more extreme than mine, dunno what I would have done if I hadn't been able to get drunk, probably spent all my time stoned (errr....more).
Adios!

#747
Whoa hang on - do you mean to say that someone has a similar picture to me!! noooo that cannot beeeee!!!!!
(um indeed!)

#748
Hi!

Sometimes I see a post and want to reply but just cannot think of anything decent to say, so don't! Or I might think to leave it overnight and write when I have something relevant to reply with, but forget...

I have no idea where I got my original picture from - somewhere on the net, but it was green before and didn't reduce well so I played with the colours, chopped off bits and deformed it a little so you could actually see the eye when it was shrunk (can you??). I was quite proud of it in the end! Very apt for me (third eye/blue/etc). I really like Florians too! And Adept of Light's, very symbolic! Looks like we are the only ones...

Just cruise around online and when you see a nice picture nab it! I used primarily paint shop pro 6.02 to change it, but also adobe photoshop. Or you might want to make a cool looking sigil? I have a couple of other pictures but nothing very good.

On that note - If anyone has any nice pictures they want modified, just send them to me with what you want done and I'll see what I can do!

Welcome to Metaphysics! / Automatic Writing
April 23, 2002, 11:07:33
Did you ever recieve any useful information which has been subsequently confirmed and enriched your life? Did you start suffering any sort of psychic attack after starting the practice? And did you get the names on the entity(/s) involved?
bear in mind that all forms of divination by default have to come through, and be processed by, your subconscious mind (in a similar way to have physical sight is assimilated - it actually hits the retina upside-down!). Whenever I divine for anything I (oops - make that usually, asked for help from the nature elementals a little the other day, performed LBRP later tho so OK) I always make sure I am addressing solely my subconscious mind, and no entities. Though I have only really bothered with pendulum divination, I have got some great results.
It does seem that some forms of divination are more prone to attracting negs than others - eg Quigi (?sp?). This could be due to how they have been used by others in the past, setting up a natural energetic attraction whenever they are used in the future. I do not know about automatic writing but would advise that you may well find it a life enhancing skill (hey, people pay money to get a hypnotherapist to do the same thing - ask their unconscious questions) but you should definately make sure you know who you are talking to. However, this may be difficult - I have run across negs which claim to be parts of my own psyche (not that it helped much heh). So perhaps carry out within a magickal (consecrated?) circle, and say to yourself at the start "I am adressing only my subconscious mind, no entities may interfere". Perhaps a prayer of protection? bear in mind that it is possible that if entities latched on to you through the old automatic writing they may contact you as soon as you try again, so be careful.
To give you some examples of quite how useful divination can be here are a couple of my successes:
Predicting exam questions
Getting closer to the true causes of my depression last term, allowing me to shield myself and apply various other techniques to ease it
Predicting the future

note: the un/subconscious mind has access at least to the collective unconscious, most likely the akashic records, and can therefore bring back the various predictions/faces of the future. The best analogy I have ever heard is imagine an inland lake with an underwater tunnel/passage connecting it to the sea. The surface top layer is the conscious (unmuddy your mind!! - see deeper), and what is below is the subconscious, which is connected to akasha (= the ocean)

Hope this helps!

#750
(note - this is all theory but has some sound bases in facts)

Distant Bell: Consider that matter is, both physical and astral, simply energy vibrating at different rates (eg famous Einstein e=mc2). There are also forms of energy, like ectoplasm, which vibrate at a rate between the two - visible to the naked eye, with some physical properties but able to be molded by thought, say visualisation. Now all of these forms of energy are interchaneable, this is basically how things can be dematerialised or rematerialised, by increasing their rate of vibration out of, or into, the physical world. I believe this has been shown in lab conditions by people experimenting with advanced quantum physics, but don't have any solid links for you am afraid. Now, magickians and such with enough skill can do this themselves, as can many entities (eg angels, strong negs, etc). So, if they can dematerialise objects - why not their own bodies? This would take much more energy and power to accomplish, but should be possible.
So! All that you need to do is dematerialise your own body, mold it into a different shape, and then rematerialise in that form. Voila werewolk, were-coyote or perhaps in africa a were-tiger.
And, if you can dematerialse yourself, why not do so with a dead body, turn it into a more raw form of energy, and absorb it? This has nothing to do with having a lightning-fast digestive process! Also a dead body will likely have residual pockets of life energy left not taken by the departed spirit, which again can be fed off.
Alternatively as I suggested earlier, a more powerful neg eg demon is involved, who carries out the whole dematerialisation/reforming/rematerialision process on the weaker human. It could then take a "cut" of the energy released from the dead bodies. Perhaps it even takes control, allowing the human spirit to experience the thrills of being at the top of the food chain.

Finally, I would like to add that I seriously doubt there would be as many heavily sceptical people out there if it wasn't for the fact that so many films have been made about werewolves. This causes people to attribute such things solely to the realms of "fantasy". If you can believe in (the possibility of) demons which can manfest, then a werewolf really isn't that big a step.
As Don Juan (Carlos Castaneda?) wrote "sorcerers say we should need no one to convince us that the world is infinitely more complex than our wildest fantasies" (just read that 30 minutes ago, quite apt - no, I am not a sorcerer!)

But in the end.....I dunno, never seen one, can only guess.
