Acutally, the "time" quote is half of one by Douglas Adams in A Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. "Time is an illusion, lunchtime doubly so." [|)] But that half is very deep.

"The biggest thing I would like to do about it is get it some what away from the often used ezine format and have it an honest snail mail publication." Hmm. I would gladly subscribe to an ezine. I think you might even get a bigger audience that way. I say this because my parents have absolutely no idea I'm involved with any of this, so they would be just a little confused when I started getting "Metaphysical Monthly" in the mail. [|)] I've met quite a few people here who are in the same situation.

Just a thought. [:)] Good Luck!

"Think about this, how many forums have you joined that you never go back to?" I left AstralForum.com because it was centered too much around OOBE's. Here, a much broader spectrum of topics is covered.

"It seemed like the same 30 people or so frequently post." Yeah, I've noticed that too. Still, it's 30 more pieces of advice that I would never have otherwise.

I'm guessing that at least half of the non-posters think that in order to be able to do everything on the site, you have to register. Why else wouldn't they post? It baffles my mind. [|)]

Only 4 more, Kakkarot! I think you get to be a premium member then...I, on the other hand, still have quite a ways to go until I even reach gold...[:)]

This reminds me of Pigeon Day in the book Wringer by Jerry Spinelli. Maybe you could recommend the book to some of the people in charge of the event? I'm not sure that'll help, but the emotions of people like you who realize how wrong this senseless violence is are captured very well. You should read it, at the least. It's not a bad book.
#80
Oh. I thought you were serious.
Goingslow, you might want to read Kakkarot's thread "My Visions" in the Prophecy and Divination section. Just a thought. If it gave my life new meaning, maybe it can at least give you a new perspective.

Fat Turkey - Well, it's not REALLY enough time to be prepared (I'll need all the time I can get...), but at least nobody's saying it'll be next Thursday. Hope not, anyway. I have an orthodontist appointment.

And, like Kakkarot said to me, "time is an illusion." Catchy.
#81
Well YAH but...I don't know. To me, "I feel like it" and "it's cool" never justified the hours (days? months? years?) of practice needed to learn such a thing.

And I was joking about the newbie thing. [|)] Just a friendly jest...
#82
Wait a minute...you have a car?! I'm jealous...well not really but ok.
#83
True...I probably will. I have a couple of gift cards to somewhere or another that sells CD's, and I'm going shopping today, so maybe I will.

And if downloading songs is illegal, then what about taking books out form libraries? I can read every word of every book in there without paying any of the authors a cent. And how about Blockbuster? Same principle.

I think I'm gonna change my sig again. This one is too long.

Squeek, I don't know what kind of CD player you listen with. On mine, there's a little switch that says "ORDER" above it or something like that. There are three choices: Normal (plays the song you put it on, then goes to the next in numerical order until the end), Repeat (repeats the song you put it on over and over again), and Random. I put it on Random before I turn it on. Then, it goes through all the songs in a random order. It only plays each song once. When it's played every song, it stops.

So, I sit down, (it's already on random), usually turn out the lights and chill out. If I really don't want to listen to the song that's playing, I just press next. Sometimes I'll say to myself, "Hey CD Player, could you play Somewhere I Belong?" and press next because I know it will play it next and it's easier than fumpling with the light switch, turning off random, remembering what number it is, switching to it, turning random back on, and turning off the lights. But when I finish a song and I say to it "Play All Star. Play All Star. Play All Star," and try to influence it with my non-existent psychic abilities, I always skip through until it plays that song, just for fun. And it's always last.

Wow, I have no life. I just wrote 2 paragraph on how my CD player works. [|)]
#85
Nah, not you, innocent newbie. [|)] Astpro meant Fat Turkey.

But Derk, I just want to know: why do you want to learn TK? Just because it's cool? I just want to know because I want to learn it too but can't find any real purpose for it or excuse *cough* reason that it would be a good skill to learn. I mean, besides never having to get up to get the remote control. [:D]

Yeah, I was thinking about that and I concluded that if one would be able to perform pyrokinesis, he/she would also be able to reverse the procedures and perform cryokinesis. (Just a theory.) That they shoudl both be combined and termed "thermalkinesis." I like that.

Kakkarot: Thanks, that would be great! [:)] <kicks worthless computer that won't open article> My email is:

flamingpurpleflamingo@yahoo.com

Just put something like "cryo" or "kakkarot" in the subject so I don't delete it with my junk mail. Thanks!
#87
Ooooooooooh, ok, I get it now. [|)] I've been thinking about that lately, too. I've been trying to forget about time but it's kinda hard when you're still in school, surrounded by teachers who don't realize that I need to work toward my higher purpose instead of writing a report by next Tuesday. [:D] That's why I loooove vacation...

There's actually another thread on this that seems to have died. Lemme see...it's around here somewhere...ah yes: here!

http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=3794

The first page has several methods, but then kakkarot and Tom get into a debate about whether saving or gathering energy is more important. [|)] Tom's side of which you seem to already have heard.

Personally, I draw it up through my feet from the Earth.

Douglas Adams Book Quotes:

"`You know,' said Arthur, `it's at times like this, when I'm trapped in a Vogon airlock with a man from Betelgeuse, and about to die from asphyxiation in deep space that I really wish I'd listened to what my mother told me when I was young.'
`Why, what did she tell you?'
`I don't know, I didn't listen.'"

"`Ford, you're turning into a penguin. Stop it.'"

"`If there's anything more important than my ego around, I want it caught and shot now.'"

"`In those days spirits were brave, the stakes were high, men were REAL men, women were REAL women, and small furry creatures from Alpha Centauri were REAL small furry creatures from Aplha Centauri.'"

"`My doctor says that I have a malformed public-duty gland and a natural deficiency in moral fibre, and that I am therefore excused from saving Universes.'"

"He believed in a door. He must find that door. The door was the way to... to...
The Door was The Way.
Good.
Capital letters were always the best way of dealing with things you didn't have a good answer to."
#90
Oh, goody. I've got plenty of time to get ready. [|)]

Purely out of curiousity, how do you know that it will be those precise 5 years? Not that I doubt you or anything; like I said, just curious.

Fat Turkey: That's all I can do too (maybe a little less). But we ARE only 13 and 14. We've got the rest of our lives to achieve our "higher purpose."
And how WOULD you encourage psychic ability in your children? Every time I think of something, I realize it either wouldn't work or would make my kid the weirdo of his/her class/school/town/etc.
#91
Hmm. That's odd. I just did a search on cryokinesis and (just for kicks) pyrokinesis on Google. I tried about 10 different search terms. They all came back (for both kinesis') with the Underground and RPG's. Not much else. That's weird...maybe I just didn't search for the right thing.

"Ok, I'm officially freaked out now." It always does it. Here's the really weird part: If I ask it nicely, it'll play the song I want. But if I try to force it, it DELIBERATELY plays it last. Every time. Without fail. Creepy...

Even if I don't ask it, it seems to sense my mood and play a song I need to hear.

Welcome to Metaphysics! / seeing aura
April 17, 2003, 15:50:40
Ok. I'll try. [:)] But how does a Krispy Kreme donut, Spring Break, or shocked relate to auras? Hypocrit...[;)]

Anyway: Yeah, I've noticed the bazillions of aura topics too. There might as well be a whole new forum where that's all people talk about, because it really doesn't have much to do with spiritually advancing and energy development. Well, sort of, on the latter, but not really.
#94
Yeah, I know. I was tired when I wrote it, messed it up, and just haven't gotten around to changing it. (You think I have the drive to actually click three times when it's 5:45 PM and I haven't even changed out of pajamas? [|)] April vacation rules!) I think we call it April vacation because there's also a February vacation. Yup.

Why would I buy the CD when even as we speak...um...as I type, I'm downloading it off Kazaa?
#95
"time is an illusion." I think I sorta know what you mean. But could you explain it a little more anyway? Just curious.

I guess that means that there's nothing to do but practice, since I don't do NEW and haven't the faintest clue what sponging is. (No offense, but I like to do things my own way instead instead of following the equivalent of a work-out video for energy development. Oops. I just reread that and it sounds harsher than I mean to be. [:I] You know what I mean though. And hey, to each his (or her[|)]) own.)

Welcome to Metaphysics! / My Visions
April 17, 2003, 15:00:16
"well our race IS rather pathetic right now. [B)] sad really." Yeah, I'm kinda surprised we're still here. Seems like we should have blown ourselves up by now. [|)]

"but in the "final battle" it seemed like we were supposed to give her our energy, or something, and she was supposed to use it to finish the demon off." Only one problem. Most of the six billion people in the world don't even know they have energy, never mind how to move it/give it to someone else. I'm guessing it's not just like the spirit bomb where you just raise up your hands. [|)]

It's too bad that the people who make all the decisions about the world (right now anyway [:)]) don't know about this stuff. Wouldn't everyone be preparing just a little bit more if they knew a demon army was coming? Right now, just about everyone would be slaughtered. Easily. More people need to know!!! But how to tell them...?

Welcome to Metaphysics! / My Visions
April 16, 2003, 11:51:56
Wow. This is amazing that a lot of people have had visions about this war. Kind makes humans look a little pathetic right now, squabbling among themselves.

The part about one girl being a "key" interested me. Can you remember anything about her in particular? Don't sweat it if you can't; it's probably a lot like recalling a dream. But it would be interesting if you could. Can you remember anything about the part she would play in the battle?

What works for me to shut up my hyperactive little kid of a conscious mind is to put everything on hold and feel like I'm waiting for a noise or something to come. You know how you see lightning, then wait for the thunder? During that time, you aren't really thinking of anything, just being alert and waiting. (Although sometimes I end up thinking of thunderstorms.[|)])
#99
Cool! I babysit two kids. One is 4, the other turned 2 recently. Is 2 too old to be all energy seeing and stuff?

I've been thinking about this lately. When I have kids (somewhere in the far future, I'm only 13[:D]) I want to try to encourage these abilities so that they last into adolescence and adulthood. How would one go about doing this?
#100
Yeah, I know. But I've had songs stuck in my head before and this is not the same thing. This is songs blasting in my brain and drowning out any other thoughts. Weird...
