Nice research Blossom. That sounds like a very plausible explanation to me.

Damn, I gotta start saving up for a trip to Japan...

Blossom,

I'm pretty sure your popping was unrelated to what we're talking about. I think what you experience has something to do with your pineal gland in your brain. I've had that happen once, although I don't recall any projection, but it's a very distinct pop when it happens.

Welcome to Astral Chat! / let's argue

I'm going to take a stance on faith.

I believe that some degree of faith is necesary. It's sort of a temporary "just in case" until it becomes a known. Faith opens you up to the possibility of something's existence. I'll try a simple example.

I believe that we are all one. I do not know this of course, but I do strongly believe it. Without having faith in this idea, I would never open myself up to possibility and would have probably lived a life of defeat, thinking there is no point to life. If you think about it, it's kind of a battle between idealism and realism, with me taking the side of idealism.

I often get the same "popping" in my nose (although it wasn't so loud as to make me think I had projected). I never thought it was anything special happening, I just ignored it.

Welcome to Astral Chat! / Happy Easter everyone
April 20, 2003, 07:55:05
This is irrelevant, but does anyone know the story behind easter? Somehow, we celebrate the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ by saying a bunny rabbit hides eggs and candy overnight. The comedian Bill Hicks is the one who made me realize how rediculous that is. But maybe there's some story that I don't know about?

Welcome to Astral Chat! / Parabola

Well, while we're on the topic, I'll post the lyrics for Tool's "Third Eye."

Dreaming of that face again.
It's bright and blue and shimmering.
Grinning wide
And comforting me with it's three warm and wild eyes.

On my back and tumbling
Down that hole and back again
Rising up
And wiping the webs and the dew from my withered eye.

In... Out... In... Out... In... Out...

A child's rhyme stuck in my head.
It said that life is but a dream.
I've spent so many years in question
to find I've known this all along.

"So good to see you.
I've missed you so much.
So glad it's over.
I've missed you so much
Came out to watch you play.
Why are you running?"

Shroud-ing all the ground around me
Is this holy crow above me.
Black as holes within a memory
And blue as our new second sun.
I stick my hand into his shadow
To pull the pieces from the sand.
Which I attempt to reassemble
To see just who I might have been.
I do not recognize the vessel,
But the eyes seem so familiar.
Like phosphorescent desert buttons
Singing one familiar song...

"So good to see you.
I've missed you so much.
So glad it's over.
I've missed you so much.
Came out to watch you play.
Why are you running away?"

Prying open my third eye.
So good to see you once again.
I thought that you were hiding.
And you thought that I had run away.
Chasing the tail of dogma.
I opened my eye and there we were.

So good to see you once again
I thought that you were hiding from me.
And you thought that I had run away.
Chasing a trail of smoke and reason.

Prying open my third eye.

Welcome to Metaphysics! / What are Deja vus?
April 10, 2003, 20:55:26
cainam_nazier, I am very much intrigued and interested by your mind-split theory. As sora said, it really does make you think. A question though (if this is just something you got off the top of your head dont worry about it), are you saying a projection that we are unaware of has happened during a deja vu? Or maybe your astral body has wandered down into the rtz and just wandered into the area you are currently occupying?
#86
hm.. tough one.. I'll say... maybe.
#87
Hm, very interesting. You're saying you can voluntarily make it appear? For me, it just kinda happens every now and then. And also, i forgot to mention that it is different colors on different occasions. I have seen red, yellow, and most of the time, white (probably others, its difficult to remember.

I can do the cross circle exercise a little. I just phase in and out of seeing one of the two circles rather than both at the same time (which is the purpose of the exercise if i'm not mistake, to see both at the same time). But with the yin yang one, I get them yin yang close, and try to keep it focused, and the turquise side simply disappears! what?! yes, it disappears! I can see both red sides, but both of the turquise are just gone. Any idea what that means?
#89
Thanks for your reply, very interesting. I'm gonna assume that not many people know too much about this because I'm not getting many responses. I'll just try experimenting with it and see what I learn. If anything results, I'll post it if I feel it's worth posting.

I was about to post something saying that when I first heard the news, I believe it was propaganda from the government. But inguma beat me to it! I totally agree with him though, and there could be much, much more still ahead of us.

"...all governments are lying cock suckers." -Bill Hicks

Enough said.

I myself just ordered 'Ultimate Journey.' If you go to amazon.com and find ultimate journey, you get one of those "look inside" things and it gives you about the first 20 pages of the book. From what I read, looks great. Nice and easy to read and understand, just the way I like it.

The same exact thing happens to me nearly everyday. But not only for dreams, for childhood memories also. All of a sudden I'll remember something from when I was 4 years old or something. Since I don't know what to think of it, I just try to look at it as a positive thing.
#93
Very interesting. I myself actually do little things like that when I'm bored, though differently. I'm going to take your procedure into consideration, because it all seems logical to work for me. I have somewhat of a concept of the something "above" that is guiding us, but I have not yet experienced that moment of self reflection. Thank you for your post, and keep it up.
#94
I have a couple comments on this. First of all, very interesting, and hopefully beneficial. But I want to add that this phenomenon of losing focus and just like falling asleep. When we enter trance, the sensations feel different because we're consciously experiencing them as opposed to them being normal everynight unconscious experiences.

I also have a question, are you saying that even normal daydreaming is a type of projection? Say, even if I'm not doing any type of work, just sitting in school or something. Is that just a very vague projection? I always thought it was just our mind leisurely perceiving things in the astral dimension. This can be turned into a full blown projection under the right circumstances?
#95
Just so you're not misinformed, it's not actually a precedent for projecting, it's a precedent for astral phasing. You never actually leave your body, you just enter a realm within your own mind.
#96
Thanks Zarklon. I'll give that a try next time. How I got into it? I have no method anymore. I used to go by a certain procedure, but not anymore, I kinda just lie down and let what happens happen. This particular experience I am sure this was 3d blackness. I just relaxed and did light energy work for maybe 5minutes, then focused on hypnogogic imagery. I pretty quickly found myself seemingly lying down looking up into blackness just like that of my room, but with a knowing feeling that I was not in my bed anymore. That thought triggered the end of the experience. I think my problem (if indeed it is a problem) is I'm that I'm not used to getting results, I don't really expect anything to happen. Thanks for the response, I'll try keeping calm, but if I can't, I think sweet_celestial_sounds may be right in that I just need to gradually ease myself into these things until I get used to them.

Wow, thank you. That was a very reassuring answer. I thought there was something wrong with my level of concentration or something. It makes so much more sense now too. Thanks.

Welcome to Integral Philosophy! / Opening Up
March 11, 2003, 19:55:00
Very helpful and informative. Especially to me with my current situation. I'm working with a video (Timothy Leary: How to Operate Your Brain) and if you allow it to, it'll basically reset your brain to default settings, allowing you to design your own reality from the chaos. But anyways, I've made progress, I've felt and seen changes in my reality, but only for short times during and after the video.

Now, after reading your post, understand that I'm not getting anywhere because I have not learned to trust, everything around me, and perhaps even myself. I think I'm well on my way now.

Well I've been havin weird experiences also as of late. Rediculous amounts of lengthy deja vus, many of them from dreams of the previous night, seeing things in new ways i've never seen them before (this has been happening a lot to me for awhile, but moreso this week). The deja vus are really what have been getting me.
