Hello mustang,

No, I am not related to Fred Alan Wolf.
About the particle physicists who do not accept a holistic point of view, Max Planck, the famous Nobel Prize winner in physics said: "A new scientific truth does not triumph by convincing its opponents and making them see the light, but rather because its opponents eventually die, and a new generation grows up that is familiar with it."

Hello beavis,

If the divine would be part of a simulation that includes all of us, then this would be our reality, and we would call it that.  In other words, it wouldn't make any difference.

And if there were other universes that are in no way connected to ours, they would be irrelevant to our universe and whatever it contains. In other words, it again wouldn't make any difference.

Hello Leon,

Since we are one with the divine Whole of All-That-Is, our potential of experiencing any part of It is not limited, IMO. Our only limitations are the ones we believe in.

Thank you, Nick,

How can we get more forum members interested in the most dramatic issue of our time? How can we get the point across that each one of us must gain a better understanding of spirituality in order to avoid the demise of humankind?  Quantum Metaphysics addresses this issue head on and provides the answers.

I wrote the book "Understanding the Grand Design, Spiritual Reality's Inner Logic" to help individuals "see the light" and thus empowering them to help themselves to create a brighter future for themselves and simultaneously for humankind.  The book is written so that it can be understood without much prior schooling.

Yet, there was only a meager response when I initiated this topic aimed at the most important issue of our time.  What does it take to make people aware that human civilization is rapidly getting more 'uncivilized' with a clear danger of self-destruction?  Should not each individual be eager to embrace an offered opportunity to participate in saving our future?

This is what "Understanding the Grand Design" is all about, because once you see the "big picture", you know how to get out of this mess.  And once enough people see it, they form a "movement" away from impending disaster. You can make the difference in swinging the majority.  Remember how just a few individual Florida votes swung the pendulum of the United States' destiny.  This time, the stakes are even greater, much greater.  This time we vote with our minds, entering our votes miraculously and automatically into the all-pervasive super-computer of spiritual reality, as described in my book.

I'll make it easy for you.  Send me an e-mail to jo@quantum-metaphysics.com and I'll send you a copy of "Understanding the Grand Design" free of charge.  In return, you must promise to read the book and discuss it here in this forum.  I'll donate seven books, first come first serve.  All you have to do is to send me your name, forum member name, and your mailing address, together with your promise to read the book and participate in its discussion.

So, let us focus on what matters most in our times, let's understand how we form our own destiny and how we participate in forming humanity's destiny.  Then let us do what it takes to create the future we want.  Let's do this together and experience how our new beliefs can move mountains.

Mystic Cloud,
I don't think that our inability to visualize more than three dimensions has anything to do with how many dimensions exist in reality.  Our consciousness is only a small part of the total cosmos, which could easily have infinite dimensions beyond our four (space + time) without us realizing it.

Welcome to Quantum Physics! / Holon help
March 04, 2004, 09:47:45
Hello Ybom,

Thank you for your Feb. 24 post "Holon help" and for your interest in this subject.  Sorry that I didn't respond sooner because I just returned from a long journey.

The Hungarian author and philosopher Arthur Koestler coined the term 'holon' for a basic unit of organization in biological and social systems.  In Greek, 'holos' means whole, and the suffix 'on' means particle or part. In other words, a holon is both a whole in its own right but also a part of a larger system.  Consider any natural organization, the solar system, an anthill, or the human body.  Each one is composed of subunits, and those subunits are 'wholes' themselves composed of even smaller units.

Take for instance the planet Earth.  It has two functions within the solar system: the Earth is a part of the system and simultaneously it is by itself a whole in its own right with many parts of its own.  This is what is meant by 'holon': being an integral part of a larger organization and simultaneously being an autonomous entity of its own, comprised of its own parts.

You, Ybom, are a holon.  You are an autonomous individual. Yet, at the same time, you know that you are a part of human society with which you are intimately interrelated.  So it is with every entity in the universe except, perhaps, the largest Whole of All-that-Is, which I call All-Entity.

Greetings!

Happiness is a state of joyous harmony with your inner self and with the outer world.  Quantum metaphysics as well as messages from enlightened sources tell us that your inner mindset determines your relationship with the outer world.  Therefore, your happiness depends only on your inner mindset, on how you think and what you believe, because a happy inner state will automatically make you happy with the world around you.  In other words, if you are unhappy, then you can be sure that you have some inner conflict that causes your unhappiness.  The good news is that we all have the power to remove such inner conflicts.  The only problem is that many don't know how to do this.

An excellent description of how to eliminate inner conflicts can be found in Jane Roberts' channeled Seth book, "The Nature of Personal Reality: Specific Practical Techniques for Solving Everyday Problems and Enriching the Life You Know."  In my book, "Understanding the Grand Design: Spiritual's Inner Logic", I summarized Seth's recipe as follows:

"Seth recommends the following procedure to create a mindset for the reality you want.  It is a four-step process.

Step 1:  Write down all your beliefs.  A belief is simply an opinion about what is true or not.  It may or may not have anything to do with religion.  For instance, what is your opinion of yourself?  Do you believe that you are inferior, equal, or superior to others?  Do you believe that life is complicated or a joyful experience?  Do you worry about the future or about what you should have done differently in the past?  The more you write down, the more easily you'll remember other beliefs that dwell in your mind.  This method applies not only to beliefs that may have an undesirable effect on your life.  The object is to become conscious of all personal beliefs, positive and negative.  You should not make this a labored effort, rather be relaxed but persistent.  Hold any thoughts that arise to the surface of your mind.  Also write down thoughts that you may consider objectionable.  They could block access to other ideas that are perfectly legitimate and are waiting to be addressed.
Notice that some beliefs belong together, they are variations on a main theme.  Try to formulate this underlying theme in one concise sentence.  Seth calls such main themes "core beliefs."  They are significant beliefs that spawn secondary sub-beliefs, like parts of a holon.  For example, you may believe that you do not look good, are too fat, have no friends, are not intelligent enough, etc.  The core belief in this case is that you are inferior to others.  In other words you have low self-esteem.  Self-deprecation is a false belief, because your true immanent nature is glamorous indeed, since you are an aspect of All-Entity.

"Identifying core beliefs is important.  If these beliefs don't serve you and are then corrected, all their sub-beliefs come tumbling down, freeing you in one fell swoop from a host of limitations.  Make sure, however, that you do not pursue a campaign of finding out "what is wrong with you."  If you presume that something is wrong with you, then you will create exactly that: something wrong with you.  We create what we believe.  The more we search for problems, the more we will find them.  I did this, and it wasn't much fun.  The correct approach is to be relaxed, neutral and forgiving.  It works like brainstorming.  First you create a list of beliefs without judging them.  After that you examine them.

"Some beliefs may seem so self-evident that you do not even think of them.  You consider them as obvious truths and do not realize that they are only your beliefs about truths.  For instance, you may be habitually worried about something going wrong, believing that this is just how life is.  Yes, things will go wrong for you, so you will feel justified in your habit of worrying.  However this is not because life is intrinsically worrisome, but because your belief creates those worrisome occasions.  Most of them are probably harmless events that you consider worrisome because of your bias.  It's a vicious cycle.  Seth calls such beliefs "invisible beliefs."  You might think that they are so deeply seated that you cannot reach them.  Actually, these invisible beliefs are on the surface and so pervasive that you do not notice them.  They are too obvious to register.  It's like searching for your eyeglasses while you are wearing them.
In another case, you might take it for granted that people cannot be trusted.  You will find countless episodes that substantiate your belief and you will ignore or not recognize those that demonstrate trustworthiness.  Your distrust will be continually justified and reinforced.  It never occurs to you that it is your belief that causes you to experience mistrust.  You mistake your belief for truth, and this renders your belief invisible to you.

"Step 2:  Once you have developed your list of beliefs, examine each one to see whether it is still correct.  Ask yourself: would I agree with someone who expressed such a belief?  Usually, some beliefs will need to be corrected.  Either they are outright incorrect, or more often, they do not apply to all circumstances.  For instance, if you believe that it is always right to be nice to others, your belief will work quite well, except when you are physically or emotionally attacked.  You may want to modify your belief for such situations.  Many beliefs are carried over from childhood.  You accepted them because you had to.  Now, as a mature person, you must make up your own mind.  Some people may be surprised at how many conflicting ideas they carry with them, causing unnecessarily suffering.  Our feelings and emotions are products of our beliefs, and we control them through the beliefs we choose.

"Step 3:  After having identified the false beliefs, you are now able to correct them as appropriate, one by one.  This takes some thought, but it is well worth the effort.  It's helpful to talk about this with a trusted friend.  Write down the new, corrected belief in one single, concise sentence, as clearly as possible, without ambiguity.  This statement must be positive.  For instance, you should say, "I am perfectly healthy" instead of, "I am not sick any more."   Another important point to remember is to speak in the present tense.  Do not say, "I will be healthy," instead say, "I am healthy."  Only the present is real.  If you say, "I will be healthy," you imply that you are not healthy now and that you do not believe that you are healthy.  This belief then creates your reality.  The driving thought behind your statement is what counts.  This example given to promote health is effective only if you first remove any beliefs, opinions or attitudes that may upset your mental and spiritual harmony.  In other words, eliminate the beliefs that caused the illness to begin with, such as self-recrimination, resentment, or conflicting goals.

"Step 4:  After you are satisfied with your new belief statement, implant it in your mind so that it becomes second nature.  Just settling on a new belief statement is not enough.  It must be firmly imbedded in the psyche to wipe out the old belief.  Only then will you live by the new belief intuitively.  Only then has your mindset changed enough to attract the new reality.  This is similar to learning a poem that you remember for the rest of your life.  Seth describes how to do this with autosuggestion.  Reserve a quiet period every day, preferably in the morning, when your mind is rested and clear.  During this time, focus on your new belief and repeat your new statement for five to ten minutes, aloud if possible.  Picture yourself acting according to your new belief.
Eventually you will sense that "you got it," and you can proceed in assimilating  another revised belief.  Experiment with how many of these autosuggestions you can handle comfortably in one session.   With time, you will act according to the new belief, first by reminding yourself, later intuitively.  You have changed your mindset by holding different beliefs.  As a result, you attract events that correspond to your intentions.  They will fall into place naturally."

You're welcome, Adkha.  Let me know when you have more questions.

You misunderstood, Adkha, I said the whole and its parts (plural) are the same, only seen from different points of view.  I also said that talking about this would go beyond the scope of my post.  Whether you see either the whole or only its parts depends on whether your consciousness is tuned into the higher dimensions of the whole or the lower dimensions of its parts.  For instance, with our 3-dimensional vision, we perceive people as separate entities (parts). However, a fully Awakened individual is not limited to three dimensions and can perceive how we are all one with each other and with God.  Such individual views the same reality as we but perceives it as whole and can indeed say "I am God", God is me", "you are me", and "I am you".

Concerning your question about energy, I did not say that energy is everything.  What I am saying is that All-Entity/God is the Whole of everything and at God's level nothing is separated from each other.  At this level, everything is united into one single, undifferentiated whole, including energy, love, life, liberty, joy, - you name it.  However, from our point of view, with our limited consciousness, we can think only of one of God's aspects at a time.  So we say, for instance, that God is the prime source of energy, or of love, etc.  All these "parts" are actually one and the same in the highest Whole of the universe.

Quantum-metaphysics uses results of modern physics and observes different dimensions in our environment to formulate a "Holistic Logic."  The logic explains how all planes of reality are interrelated, including the highest, All-Entity/God.  This results "automatically" in a confirmation of basic concepts in world religions.

I don't think that light is the effect of the energy called photon.  Yes, our eyes' sensation of light is an effect of the photons/radiation hitting them, but this does not necessarily mean that light energy itself is an effect of photons.  Photons and electro-magnetic radiation are physical phenomena and I doubt that they exist on the astral plane as such, although light exists there too.

I believe that photons/radiation are light and vice versa, only expressed in different terms, without there being a cause-and-effect relationship.  To see this, it helps to understand quantum metaphysics.  You may not be inclined to read www.quantum-metaphysics.com or my book, Understanding the Grand Design: Spiritual Reality's Inner Logic.  So, I'll try a shortcut here for this particular case.

Everything in the universe is organized in parts and their wholes.  The cells in your body are parts of organs and they are in turn parts of the larger whole of your body.  Your body and your mind are parts of your higher Self.  One step higher, your reincarnational Selves are parts of your soul, and higher yet, many souls are parts of humankind.  Continuing up the ladder, humankind together with all other species are parts of the whole of all living beings, and so on until we can say that all aspects and phenomena of the entire universe are parts of a transcendent unified Whole that I call "All-Entity".  Religions identify All-Entity with names such as God or Nirvana.

Since All-Entity unifies everything that exists into one entity, It is also the seat of all existing energy.  In other words, All-Entity is the prime source of all forms of energy (as of everything else).  So, Adkha, if you want to see the basis of energy, you'll have to see "God".  This is what we call "spiritual awakening".

Coming back to the specific energy form of light, it is now easy to see how it fits into the overall picture.  As indicated before, everything in the universe is subdivided into parts, so is energy.  One part of energy is electro-magnetic radiation, and light is one sub-part of that.  Photons and radiation are parts of light as it impinges on our physical plane.  This is how light shows up in our environment.  If you want to, you could perhaps say that the energy of light "causes" the appearance of photons and radiation in the physical plane, but I wouldn't say so, because quantum-metaphysics tells us that the whole and its parts are one and the same, only seen from different perspectives.  But explaining this would really go beyond the scope of this post here [:(].

Excellent point, volkomstone, yet one could argue that light is only a specific form of energy and not the basic category of energy itself.
#91
Energy is the capability to perform work.  That is its definition.  You cannot see energy itself, only its effects.
#92
As Trans2222 points out, volcomstrone's original message needs a clarification of semantics.  In our common use of language, we differentiate between mental and physical activity.  We imply that we do not 'act' when we do nothing but think or observe.  This does not mean that our thoughts or observations may not affect our environment.  Actually, we select our environment through our mind, out of an untold number of possibilities.  But we usually do not identify this as 'action'.

When we talk about subatomic effects, we must understand that we are dealing with more dimensions than our four (three space and one time dimensions).  For argument's sake, let's say that the subatomic world has six dimensions.  Then, when we observe, we may catch any subset of four dimensions out of the set of six, simply because our perception is limited to four dimensions.  This is how our observation appears to influence a subatomic event.  In reality, we pick one of many possible aspects of a multi-dimensional reality, and we think that we changed the event while in actuality we only picked a different view of it.  Yes, we can call this an 'action' on our part, but it is not the same type of action that we associate with physical activity.
#93
By "nutshell" I meant the essence of Jesus' teachings.  He himself defined this essence when he said:  "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind," and "You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments depend the whole Law and the Prophets"  (Matthew 22:34-40).

Don't the examples in your post, Trans2222, demonstrate how Jesus condemned any behavior that violated harmony, peace, and love? I am sure that his message was to focus our minds on these aspects of life because they are God's prime aspects - and how we think so we become.  God is the innermost core in each of us and as we become more like Him, so we become true to ourselves.  This removes the inner conflicts that we are grappling with in our world, and this is how we can "Awaken" to true reality, which some call 'heaven'.
#94
Trans2222, why do you say (Jan.19) that Christs's teachings were not focused on harmony, peace, and unconditional love?
#95
Wantsumrice, perhaps I should also comment on being comforted by the fact that physical life is temporary.  Steel Hawk wrote on 28.12.03,  "The world is filled with parasites trying to survive. Pointless. My only true comfort is knowing that physical existance (sic) is temporary."  This potrays an attitude of rejection.  Yet, we know that we create our own reality by what is in our mind.  Whatever we experience is a result of our mindset.  While one person detests what he sees, others enjoy the good aspects of life.  The difference is in the person's mind, not in the reality of life.  We all have the freedom to choose our type of experience by how we think and act.  When we die, we leave our body behind but not our mind, and we will continue to create our reality depending on our mindset, misery or joy, wherever we are, here or beyond.

Kerri, I believe that you got it right [:)]!

Wantsumrice, of course humanity is having a regrettable impact on the environment, caused mainly by corporate greed, and we must do our best to turn this trend around.  However, it is not helpful for individuals to indiscriminately criticize others.  Such criticism does nothing to improve our world and will invariably backfire to the person who voices it. Yes, I am talking about the whole picture, and yes, we are all equal and there is no good vs. bad from the whole's viewpoint. But the human race would be in much better shape if individuals would extend more love towards one another.

P.S. to my 06 January post:

The 'dimensions' in astral theory correspond to the 'dimensional levels' in quantum metaphysics.
#98
AlphaOmega,
Which post are you referring to?
#99
Hello Adkha,
You are bringing up a very good point.  The term 'dimension' is often applied in a somewhat loose manner that can lead to misunderstanding.  I am using the term as in science, where 'dimension' is also called 'degree of freedom'.  That latter expression captures the meaning more accurately.  In its most basic application, we think of three-dimensional space having width, depth, and height and a two-dimensional plane has only width and depth.  The world consists of more than just 3-D space, for instance also electro-magnetic energy and gravity.  Therefore we can say that the world has more dimensions than three.  Ultimately, all life phenomena represent additional dimensions that represent more 'degrees of freedom' along which to evolve.

Are these scientifically defined dimensions the same as those defined by the "astral theory"?  How exactly does astral theory define 'dimension'?  I have not found a specific definition yet, but I know what you mean: in astral theory the term 'dimension' is used for an entire environment or spiritual plane.  This implies that an 'astral dimension' includes many dimensions of the scientific kind mentioned above. For instance our whole earthly environment would be called 'a dimension' although it includes countless dimensions of the scientific kind.  Therefore, the astral dimensions are not the same as the scientific ones.

Yet, I am saying that total reality has more dimensions than 3D space and time, and I don't believe that 10 dimensions will do.  Whatever the number, you cannot go to higher dimensions as easily as you go to the second dimension because your consciousness is limited to our four space and time dimensions.  Your mind cannot perceive the 10th dimension and therefore it cannot go there, not mentally and certainly not physically, because the 10th dimension does not exist physically.  It takes a spiritual Awakening to experience the higher dimensions.

Steel Hawk,
tell us, please, how many prophets, gurus, and people claiming to know the truth have you consulted?  Have you read such books as 'A Course In Miracles', Tom Carpenter's 'Dialogue On Awakening', Neale Walsch's 'Communications with God', Jane Roberts' Seth books, or any of the many channeled messages that were published in the now defunct 'SpiritWeb' site?  If you have not read any of these, you are not qualified to make such a sweeping indictment of spiritual advisers.  Or tell us the names of the prophets, gurus, etc. that you did consult.  What exactly did they say that led you to your negative judgment?  If you actually did study them, you probably did not understand their messages.

Also, who are all these "parasites" that fill the world? Since no man is above the other, as you say, you yourself would be one of the parasites, right?  Tell us, please, what have YOU done lately to improve the condition of the human race?

Furthermore, how can you be comforted by the fact that physical existence is temporary?  Have you ever heard that reincarnation does not end until you have reached a certain level of enlightenment?  I can guarantee you that there will be no end of this cycle for you until you stop seeing your fellow humans as parasites.

I can also tell you that you create your own reality based on whatever you believe.  Therefore, as long as you believe that enlightenment cannot be taught, you will not benefit from such teachings.  If you want to make progress along this line, you need to change your attitude.  I would like to suggest that you limit your posts to constructive discussions.
