Welcome to Astral Chat! / Any bookworms out there?
September 07, 2003, 20:51:25
Cool!  Check out the "Secrets" link.  Interesting stuff in there about other books by the author.  If you go to the "The Novels", then The Da Vinci Code, you'll find excerpts from the book.

Hmmm, if any of you know much about astrology, I've been told I have a high "burn" rate due to some planetary positions.  What it basically means is that I "transform" myself often.  And it's true. I could go on and on but will keep it simple.

1)Most important and probably shocking to this community, I'm a law enforcement officer.  Have been for 10 years.
2)Currently, I'm assigned to a government task force in computer forensics.  Think of it as performing an autopsy on a computer to gather evidence of crime.  40% of our work load is child pornography.
3)I've been married for 7 years, together with the same man for almost 11 years.  He is very earthbound and we compliment each other nicely.  First man I ever met who appreciated me for who I am.  Nutiness and all.
4)I have 2 daughers, 4 and 6 and am in a constant battle with school over my oldest. She is very much a free spirit.
5)Least important, I'm 34 and tall for a woman, almost 6'.:)

Agreed Neyru, I might add...

We have always fought demons, people do it every day.  The demons I'm talking about are personal demons though.

Just like I look inside not outside for Jesus and God, I know that any "demons" I might encounter are solely my own.

It's always been my impression that positive and negative energies are always at battle and if we let the negative win, that is our own choice.  When it comes to battles with negatives, we always have the choice of engaging and fighting or disengaging and walking away.

To say that the way we treat other people has anything to do with "outside forces" is shirking the reponsibility you have to yourself by not treating other people the way you want to be treated.

Shadowatcher sorry for slightly hijacking your post.

I didn't enjoy school much.  I went to learn and did little socializing.  I followed the rules without complaint because I knew that eventually, I would be able to live my life the way I wanted.  When and if you choose to attend college, many of the rules you've listed here, will no longer be.  It will be your choice as to who you speak with and what you say, what you wear, when and if you show up to class.  There will be more open minded discussion about issues that seem to be suppressed in school.  If you choose something other than higher education, there will be other rules to follow.  It never ends. :)  Sometimes you may find the rules are ones you impose upon yourself.

Your success or failure at this life as a whole will be up to you eventually. :)  Know that you are on the right track to question everything and come up with your own opinions. :)

I've had some problems accessing the site as well.  I use IE and had to change the encoding to "Western European" (Windows).

I would get logged in okay and could see all of the forums but if I selected one, I would get sent back to "All Forums".

I did have some trouble logging in after I deleted the cache.  But it fixed itself too when I changed the encoding.

He writes about an experience he had when his physical saw his projected double, if that is what you are referring to.

I don't think I'm quite ready for that experience.  I need to figure out how to get out first!
#86
Exactly.  Not too many people do.

Beavis, I have always respected your forthright approach.  I don't respond much to you because you come across as knowing your own mind better than anyone else.  That is a rare accomplishment.  "I don't give them hell.  I tell them the truth and they think it's hell" - Harry S. Truman.

As far as learning to live and respect different types of people from different backgrounds, I prefer to work with my child on those issues at home.  I am her parent and her biggest advocate not the school.

In all of the turmoil in the world, the best I can hope for her is that through it all, she finds herself following her own path.  Whatever that may be.

Beavis -

When my child is out of school, she can wear what she wants when she wants.  Right now, at this moment, to gain the education she needs, she will adhere to their rules.

I struggle with the issues you raise,  believe me.  I've looked into alternative education.  My opinion is that RIGHT NOW, while she is in school, what she learns and knows is much more important than what she wears.  When she is out of school, she can wear what she wants when she wants.

Thanks for the uplifting response.  If my child was to grow up to be an moron, she obviously wouldn't be the first nor the last, I'm sure.

Thanks for you response Soulfire.

I have also moved my physical body during a projection to the Astral tube entrance.  The overwhelming feeling of hyperwarping into the tunnel caused me to physically move myself in order to get there quicker.:)

Hard to let go of the physical sometimes I guess.  I am reading up on the mind split affect in Astral Dynamnics as I have yet to recognize the split.

Thanks again!

Agreed.  I haven't posted any responses to him.  The discussions he starts make me laugh.  And reading other's responses make me laugh at times too.  Not in a disrespectful way but out of joy that so many people are able to think for themselves here and articulate themselves so clearly. And yes, we all will learn something from it.

Allanon has made me appreciate this place much more than before.  It was his posts that made me realize that a majority of the people on this board exist here fairly happily no matter what their beliefs are.  I enjoy and respect that.

So, thank you Allanon!

I'm old with 1 child in 1st grade.

Reasons I believe school rules are adopted:
1)The school has a responsibility to TEACH my child academics.  To do this successfully, the school recognizes that integrating people from different socio-economic backgrounds, personalities, races and religions can cause a diversion from the real reason they are in school.  TO LEARN ACADEMICS.

2)While our children are attending their school, the school becomes liable for their well being.  And in our "sue" happy society, they are covering their own butt.

My child is spirited, outspoken, right brained, divergent thinking, creative, active and a leftie.  Not exactly the kind of student that teachers can "easily" deal with in their class.  "Too damned bad", I think.  I refuse to try to change her because she doesn't conform.  She thinks for herself and believes in herself and I want to foster those kind of traits.  I expect the teachers and administrators to respect her as much as I expect her to respect their rules.  It's a give and take thing.
*************
I also want to add that I realize she is only 6 yo.  But it is up to me as a parent to teach her that to garner respect from others, you must also have respect for others.  That is a Universal Law that the school certainly will not teach her.

Welcome to Astral Chat! / Where are you all from?

I would venture to guess I'm the only person here from Kansas.  In my defense though, I have travelled overseas. hehe. [:D]

fallnangel77 - I totally agree with the "trying too hard theory" as much as I agree with Tisha's theory of needing will to be successful.  In conclusion, what is needed is balance which is true in life as a whole.

I have yet to succeed and have not given up although it's only been about a month.  I've had lot of close calls.  I practice every chance I get.  I have no intention of stopping until I do.  So, I know I have the will.  The times I've come close though, I was trying too hard.  I was physically responding to the sensations which have ranged from vibrations to the simple albeit fantastic feeling of hyperwarping toward the astral tube entrance.  Then when I've failed because of me being unable to disconnect from my physical body, I give up for that session.  There are so many variables!!! :)

Pretty creepy.  I've seen something this before as well but not in a projection.  And there were several of them on a flat boat of some kind going down a river.  I only saw them from behind as they were moving away from me and it was more like a vision that came to me during hypnogognic dreaming.  However, the image or vision was VERY clear to me which is unusual for me during hypnogognic dreams.

Not to scare anyone but from behind, their dress style reminded me of the minister in the Poltergiest movie.  As a matter of fact, I had a dream about that movie fairly recently.

Okay, I'm freaking myself out now.

Kalonek,

I too have had a similar experience.  But it was not the Astral plane, but an astral tube.  And yes the inside was covered with black and while checkerboard.  I felt like I was moving quickly through it at warp speed.

It only lasted a few seconds though as I physically responded to the feeling of moving so quickly.  It was a great feeling and I think I tried to move toward it with my physical body.

Congrats!  I'm hoping to make it further next time as I've not had any progress with regular OBE's.

Welcome to Astral Chat! / WHAT DO YOU DO ?
August 11, 2003, 07:30:39
Chill, I think you are going to find you are correct. :)

I'm in a technical background as well.  I just recently transferred from computer support to computer forensics.

However, in my youth, my drive was more on the creative side.  Calligraphy and abstract drawing mostly.

I read somewhere to make sure you do not have the after taste of something sweet in your mouth.

Thanks!  It's still very frustrating to know you've gotten sooo close.  It's hard to not want to give up.

Had an astral sight experience last night.  Going to post that in the Astral Experience Forum.

Unless you count spontaneous projection.  Then my grand total would equal 1.  Haha!
