I don't the answer to any of those questions but if it is "yes" to all of them then AP must be just like Minecraft.

Yeah. Actually one theory that just popped into my mind earlier is that [insert group of choice (e.g. politicians) here] are trying to distract the public from something else going on currently so they've somehow started this wave of animal death reporting to keep people's minds occupied with other stuff.
#78
Not me. The first time this happened was before I even got into any "spiritual stuff".
#80
Makes sense. But I've never consciously projected so that's probably not what's happening for me.

Actually, this reminds me of something I've experienced three times. It has occurred randomly over the last three years or so that occasionally I would see what look like little silver (reflecting) bits of glitter in the air. At first I am always convinced my eyes are playing tricks on me but closing and re-opening my eyes doesn't make it go away and my sight is also extremely clear in these moments. These experiences usually last about 30 seconds and are quite fascinating to me but like I said, it's only happened about three times.

Maybe this is somehow related?

You ever heard of Edgar Cayce? He considered himself to be a Christian psychic. Of course he isn't accepted by the fundamentalists but I guess that goes without saying.
#83
I'm just a n00b so I might be wrong but I think the equivalent to Google is probably the part of the astral called the Akashic Records.

Hey Timandra.

This sounds like a very cool project. I'm not too familiar with the specifics of utilising the law of attraction. You mentioned affirmations and visualisation in your first post but could you elaborate some more? How do you do it?
#85
Cool idea, this poll. I'm really intrigued about the results.

My total number of exits is either zero or 8000+ depending on your belief system.

And I'm gonna let you guess the answer to question number two.
#86
That's interesting. I'll try it out, thanks.
#87
Ok, thanks guys for the elaboration on visualisation. And thanks to Noy for sharing this a-bit-of-everything technique. I'll just keep practising then.

also, don't forget that visualization is in the minds eye, not your physical eyes or anywhere in physicality at all.

Hmmm... Maybe this is the bit that confuses me. I'm not sure when I'm actually "seeing" something in my mind's eye.

So when I do the meditation exercise I try to conceptualise pulling in white light. I usually do this by saying the words "white light" in my mind and trying to focus on the path that it would go (from my feet and hands through my whole body). I think I might unintentionally move my eyes along this path at the same time. Anyway, I try to picture myself on the bed in a kind of x-ray view with the light coming into my body (from the perspective of my physical eyes) but I never really get anything I would consider "seeing". I'm also not any good at doing this consistently. Usually I'm just thinking of pulling in the light and sometimes I try to feel it too.

Is this "seeing" with my mind's eye?

I suppose working on your brow chakra might help. Its the only thing I can think of other than practice.

Thanks, I should try that. I always get mixed up by what to do with my eyes though. Do I have to do the cross-eye thing? Because I can't seem to get them to rest that way.
#89
Oh cool. I already try to focus on and expand the falling feeling when I can so I guess that might be one thing I'm doing right.

About imagining being in a different room, I didn't actually do that bit. Maybe I just have the most dull imagination in the world but I'm reeeeeeeeaally bad at anything that involves imagination or visualisation. That's also one reason why I'm trying to get a more traditional OBE. Though phasing seems to work for a lot of people here it just doesn't appear to get me anywhere (except maybe into an unconscious sleep state).

Maybe you have some ideas on how I can improve my visualisation skills? (and please don't say practice :P)
#90
Haha, that's harder than it sounds. But actually last night (I think) I made some progress using this. I was lying in bed and attempting to leave the body and I got to a point where I got a weird feeling at the top of my head, a bit like it was going numb. The rest of my bodily sensations were also lower than I've ever got them to be and I almost couldn't feel the bed. So maybe I was on the verge of entering trance?

I'm a n00b at meditation but I like the sound of this so I've given it a try.
Am I supposed to be noticing any effects? And if I don't: What does that mean? Do I need more practice in order to do it more effectively? Could it be a form of meditation that simply doesn't work for me? Should I continue in order to become more sensitive towards any effects? And also does the fact I don't notice any effects mean that there are none?

This thread reminds me of a cool site I used to obtain some info on astral projection. It hasn't been updated in a while but maybe you'd like to check it out:
http://www.astralvoyage.com/

Anyway, the author of the site claims to have won the lottery through Astral Projection. There's an article on it here:

... and an audio interview:

And so here I am, a humble man coming from the bowels of the internet.

Hey man. I think we come from the same place.

Hmmmm... Interesting. So basically you're saying that you use the word "objective" when all the opinions in a given system agree on something (e.g. both people in our example). That may not make the issue "objective" in every context (like from our point of view) but within the given system it can be regarded as "objective"... Is that about right?

So that makes objectivity the subjectivity of the masses.

I think I like your definition. :)

I like the idea. But I'm not a very active poster so I suppose my opinion has little value.

I've been wondering about this too. Or more specifically: Has anybody tried locating Frank Kepple yet? Hasn't he supposedly disappeared?

The words of anonymous forum users mean more to you than multiple accounts from your family and friends?

I believe getting opinions from "outside the box" is (probably) always a good thing. Sure, maybe you shouldn't value them more than the accounts from family and friends but if what everyone else is saying is in direct objection to those accounts then maybe you should approach the subject in a different manner.

If I only listened to my family and friends I would still believe that everyone who doesn't believe Jesus died for his/her sins will burn in Hell for all eternity...

And getting back to the original question: I like to believe that kind of communication is possible but I have no personal experience to back that up. If my Dad told me he could talk to my bro like that I would probably believe him (but I'd still ask my brother about it of course :P).
#98
So you're saying that if two people agree that Jews are the root of all evil (sticking to the WW II theme here) then that becomes an objective reality?  :?

I'm thoroughly confused about the way the terms "objective" and "subjective" are being used in this thread.

I NEED to project, it's one of the only things that makes me happy.

Just a wild guess, but something tells me this may be the real problem.

Wow. That sounds scary and exciting. Why do you think you had to make this journey?
