I'm about half way through the first document and I must say that I'm blown away! I'll be reading the rest now, and I'll definitely be trying the phasing technique now that I understand the concept. Thanks Xanth.  :-)

Quote from: collegekid2k on January 28, 2011, 06:18:42The funny thing is I drift back off asleep from actual sleep, then I think I'm actually awake moving around going about my bizz, then bam, I actually wake up, OR SOOO I think and I was like wow that was weird so go about my business again, and bam, the third time I actually finally wake up, questioning ok, lets see I woke up 1nce, couldn't move, went back into a dream of a dream, then realize I'm in a 3rd dream of a dream...It's really odd, doesn't happen very often but it mirrors Inception closely way before the movie was ever released....Just some thoughts :)

That's a 'false awakening'. I've had this several times. Apparently you can project from this state, as long as you become aware that you are still dreaming. Not something I've managed to accomplish yet as it's difficult to know your dreaming when your convinced you've woken up!!

I've had sleep paralysis (SP) since I was about 10 (32 now) and I've managed to get out of body once from this state. I had no joy rolling or trying to be at the ceiling. I just imagined that I was as light as a feather and that I would float. I was actually lying on my side and I felt my whole self detach from my body through my face! Don't stop trying, I'm still struggling but I think it's gonna take time and a lot of practice. Good luck!  :-)

Quote from: kennzo on January 26, 2011, 21:41:11The other night I felt that I had been lucid (for the first time) in a dream... but I could only hear things & not see. I'm not sure though, it is kind of hazy. I'm not sure if that means anything at all either!

I've had lucid dreams where I couldn't see but my visuals did appear when I thought about it. Not sure why, but I've heard about it happening to others before so I think it's perfectly normal.  :-)

But as has been mentioned, it is a basic law of electromagnetism that electrical currents induce magnetic fields around them, and that conversely magnetic fields also induce electrical currents.

You can't in the same breath say that electromagnetic stimulation is not used, and that magnetic fields are applied- they are nearly synonomous.

Perhaps you would not hesitate to hold a kitchen magnet to your head, but maybe you would think twice about an industrial solenoid.

I'll second that, having studied electrical theory for the last four years. But that said, before I went to college I had no idea that electricity and magnetism were so closely interwind. It's not suprising that it's not common knowledge. If anyone wants some light reading! - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maxwell's_equations
Enjoy!

Quote from: Naykid on January 25, 2011, 07:52:10I would forget everything I had thought about doing and would do something else or someone else would be there to distract me.  So, don't be disappointed if you guys never get to see that black hole or build that castle, I'm sure you will still have a fantastic experience though.  :-)

Yeah, the best things tend to be the things you never expected. The huge mind-blowing surprises.

I can't wait!  :-)

I everyone, I've joined this group in the hopes that I get pulled out by someone! Once I am more adept at AP I would love to help others acheive the same. Only problem I can see is that like Jarrod I'm on a different time zone to most of you, being in Britain.  :-(

I haven't a clue what I was on about either, sorry Naykid. From now on I'm banning myself from this site when I've had a too much to drink lol!  :-)

Sounds like you've got it all sorted, I'm jealous!! Seriously though, well done.  :-)

Once I manage to get out on a 100% conscious exploration, I'm going into space to see if I can find some black holes or distant galaxy. :-)

I guess I'm not understanding.  When I hear snippits of what seems to a normal conversation, once I wake up, it is garble.  So, I just think of that as mind clutter.  Now, if I hear something that makes sense, that's a different story.
That's the whole point, for some reason it doesn't make sense?? I think it's because you are thinking about it with your physical mind?? Maybe?

Quote from: Xanth on January 17, 2011, 11:21:08We've all "read about" the vibrations... actually, it's probably one of the very first things that a person learns about regarding astral projection! We're told that to project, you need to initiate the "Vibrational State" and then they go on to tell you *EXACTLY* what it's supposed to feel like. *THIS* is the problem.

Have to say that when I first experienced vibrations (approx 14 years ago) I had no idea what was happening to me. I had never investigated OBE or AP before and I never actually projected either, (because I didn't know that I could, or that it was even possible).
I have experienced SP on and off for approximately 23 years, but when the vibrations hit me again for a second time (just about 3 or 4 months ago) I then investigated through the modern wonders of the internet and found you guys! Since then I have only been reading up about the likes of Monroe etc, and it's typical of me that I have not had a fully conscious SP since!!!  :x
It is this reason that leads me to believe that I must be an energy of some form, but why it seems to have disappeared in some more experienced people is beyond me. :?

Just Googled it myself, strange! Never heard of that show before, maybe your right, thanks! :-)

Hi there! You can read up on vibrations in this forum, but they are generally thought to be a prerequisite to having an OBE.
Cool name by the way!  :-)

Welcome to Astral Consciousness! / Strange word!
January 20, 2011, 08:36:21
Hi,

I today attempted to project by lying down and listening to an astral projection binaural beat mp3. I didn't manage to project (no surprises there!) but for moments I did drift into another form of consciousness from time to time. At one point I heard the word 'mewsons' being repeated over and over. It was as though an announcer with an American accent was repeating the word through a PA system. After about 5 repetitions I became more aware and came back to waking consciousness and all I could hear were the binaural beats again, weird!
Anyone know what mewsons means? It was pronounced - mew-zuns.  :?

I have had similar experiences upon awakening. I usually forget straight away what it was I was talking about or sometimes I completely fail to understand what it was!
I had an experience recently where I woke up and I remember going through a thought process and it made absolute perfect sense, but whilst I was awake and thinking about it, I all of a sudden couldn't make any sense of it what so ever, and then I completely forgot what it was I was thinking about! I think it might have something to do with the limitations of the physical mind? I imagine that upon waking my epiphany just dissolved because the thought processes of my brain could no longer cope with what I was contemplating, whatever i was!! Strange but intriguing.

January 15, 2011, 09:02:40
I don't know much about it myself, but I think of my higher self as been my whole self in the astral. In other word when i die, I think I will unite with my higher self. Like when you were put into your physical body a part of your higher consciousness is in there with you, but not all of it. It's still confusing when I think of it like that and I'm probably wrong, but I'm hoping to learn more through projecting. Have you projected yet?
#96
Sounds like you may have had a 'false awakening'. I'm pretty new to this myself, I've had two semi-conscious OBE's but quite a few times when I've really been trying hard in the early hours of the morning, I end up thinking that I've woken up. Everything seems real but then I wake up again!!
I'd wait to see what some more experienced people say, but that's how it seems to me. In any case you've made some definite progress! Good luck for your future attempts!

I don't want to say that you both look familiar, but I swear you do.....  it's almost like you are both actors I've seen on tv.   Does your wife have a high giggle?  lol

lol! Not really no. Wish we were actors though!
