So this good and awesome God helped men in making the women feel less important than them? Doesn't God support emancipation?
#77
Ok, but do you think that God made EVERYTHING with a reason?
#78
I think I'm trying to say that God himself would have objected against the fact that he is portrait (spelling ok?) as a man to mankind.
#79
I don't like the term "God". It makes me think of a manlike being. This is because of my years of indoctrination. "God" makes me think of the God of the bible and I don't like the bible and I don't like christianity (or the islam).

I do believe in something divine. A spark within ourselves that is life and is part of something bigger.

Hasn't anyone here seen "Bruce Almighty"? God is a black man with an average height. Please be informed before you write replies in which his existance is questioned.. It makes you look stupid..

I've got a question for the creationists:

Why did God make the universe expand from one point?
#82
Why does everything have to have a name? I am spiritual but I don't call myself a member of some sort of movement. I just read a lot and the things that really make sense to me are integrated in my view. I don't have a name for it and I'm very flexible in this. I don't say this is the truth and that's that. I'm always open for other stuff and like to integrate that.

What if WE bring a disease to Mars? What would that do to the martians? Do you people always think about yourselves?

Lately I've been having lots of trouble with the underpantsgnomes.. Has anyone got an idea how to get rid of them?

I see karma as an energyfield we create around us with our thoughts. Thoughts consist of energy. If the field is filled with positive thoughts, the field will attract positive circumstances for you. If the field is filled with negative thoughts (and feelings maybe) this will attract negative circumstances. In some literature this is described as higher-astral (positive, deeper) and lower-astral (negative, more superficial).

I believe in this concept.

Well, she is a dutch writer and I was just wondering if people from other countries know her as well. I've got one book of hers on spirituality (called "A new reality") and it is the most inspiring book I've ever read. I've read it 4 times actually because it's that good. If anyone can get a copy of A new reality translated in english you should definitely read it, it really changed the way I look at things and therefore it changed my life.

Welcome to Dreams! / death in dreams
December 24, 2003, 13:27:20
I can recall two dreams in which I died. First one was during the Gulf war. I also dreamt I was in a war and was hit by an explosive shell and died instantly. I knew I died and then shortly after I was reborn again, I was standing in the same place and everything was quiet, the war was over which gave me a great feeling of happiness.

In the second one, I died by being eaten by a shark. I was in the water and this big white came out of the water, I saw his mouth and then everything went black which was very scary because I could still think. I ask myself the question if this was the end and if this was being dead was like. After 10 seconds I woke up and never felt so happy to be awake again. Our mind can really play some dirty nasty tricks on us....

I don't think happyness is that hard to obtain. Happyness is a feeling inside of us that has been there since the day we were born.
If we can experience pain all of our lives, we can also experience happyness all of our lives.

The problem  with our society today is, is that we are taught to disregard our instincts/feelings and only evaluate things with our rational mind. We think too much, we worry too much, we have doubts and fears inside of our head. These things block the ever existing feeling of happyness inside us. Just take away your doubts, fears and worries. These things don't support us on our journey in life but they are existing in every one of us.

Maybe you could say that it is alright to worry when a friend of yours is lying in the hospital but even then, the worries don't add up to anything but unhappyness. Maybe that someone could name me one worry, or fear or doubt that really has something constructive about it? I can't think of one.. Only the fears that have to do with the preservation of our own lifes can be constructive, but we luckily don't all experience them too often.

I've experienced that taking away the unconstructive things in your mind opens up the door to happyness. It will take perseverance but the results are worthwhile. When I started "on my quest of cleaning my mind" I know I had found the way and experienced a long moment of pure bliss, love and ecstacy. It was unlike anything I had ever experience before. After that the road was hard but now I'm almost there. I experience pure happyness almost every day now and I'm not doing anything but thinking positive and being connected with my feelings, my heart.

It's all about the fast source of love inside you. Of course it's hard to see others suffer but don't let their pain be your pain. Just try to be there for these people and spread the love in this world.

Maybe you should try Lucid Dreaming, it can open a world for you that exceedes all of your expectations.

11 is the "crazy" number right? or is that just something we dutch people made up?

Maybe in the future you will all be going crazy..

First off it is very important that you love and respect yourself.
Do something about your bad qualities and also really know that your truth is as far or as close from the real truth as anyones other truth. This is what respecting yourself is all about.

After this you should start sending out positive energy which will attract even more positive energy to you, which will feed you and make you send out even more positive energy. And don't let fears, doubts, worries and other people's hateful remarks bring you of your path. Just be patient.

I've been working on myself for almost a year now and I can really tell it's working. What I think is very important is that you want to be more loveable for yourself. Don't change because others want you to. You really have to want to change yourself to make yourself feel happier. And when you are truly happy you will radiate this to the people around you and you have become more loveable.

If you really want to know more you should start reading some books.

Met mij is alles goed, met jou?
Everything is ok here, how's it over there?

I know you're right and I'm not trying to promote drugs but it was just something I noticed. And sometimes it's easier to smoke a joint and be spiritual then when you have to concentrate in order to be spiritual.

By the way, I don't smoke as much weed and hash as I did a couple of years ago. It's just not as fun as it used to be. Damn, I'm getting old..

Maybe your body is trying to warn you.. maybe you have a bad kidney or something like that.

Or it could just be some stupid dream that doesn't mean excrement. I think that when a dream really means something you just know it. You don't need any further proof, you just know it's meaningful.

Maybe we all are sometimes too caught up in the dreamworld thinking that everything has a meaning. Well luckily, not everything has a meaning. At least that is what I think.

I explain the way pot or hash effects your thoughts by emphasizing the difference between being high or stoned. When I started smoking pot I almost always got high, which means I could think faster. Nowadays I just get stoned of pot which means my thought process is slowed down. Hash gets me high though and it makes me think faster.

It's easier for me to make contact with my subconscious (spelling ok?) when I'm high of pot or hash. I think this is because you don't have a lot of thoughts going through your mind all the time and this makes it easier to contact the subconscious.

Welcome to Dreams! / Deja vu while dreaming
October 08, 2003, 05:01:27
I maybe had a premonition. Although I can't really remember I had a dream or that I was just daydreaming. It was about a train-accident in the place that I life (not a serious one) and some time later there really was a train accident there. Not a big accident, just a train bumping into a platform.

By the way, I like what you said about dreams and deja vu's. I will keep my eyes more open to these things.

And if dreams are predictions of the future my future will be very exciting! I dream a lot of being followed by people, or people wanting to catch me. Not in a bad way, but in an exciting way, like I'm a special agent. What does it mean that I always have exciting, adventurous dreams in which I'm being followed?

I just posted this thread on the lucid dreaming forum about the connenction between deja vu's and dreaming. This experience was unlike the things you guys said about this subject. Would you care to comment to my thread? I don't wanna write it all down again so it can be found on the lucid dreaming forum.

And as to the "teeth-discussion", I've had experiences with ecstasy that made me think I was losing all my teeth. Just like when you dream you are losing your teeth. Maybe it's something in the brain (biochemically) that gives you this strange sensation?
