Also, what are all the possibilities inside a lucid dream?

You can attempt an OBE right (with risk it may just be an illusion though as I remember) or you can picture a different dream scenario and travel into it?

I'll remember to look at my hand too next time it happens..

Something I picked up on is the real reason the dream ended is I tried to close my eyes in the dream. I went to kiss a girl (ya, so sue me =p) and I tried to close my eyes. I guess this is a no-no in a lucid dream as it forces you to flinch your real eyes and bam there goes the dream.

Does that make sense?

I used to have the same problem during obe attempts. I think its something that goes away with practice. The more you become accustomed to relaxing in general, being relaxed for long durations, being in sleep-paralysis, etc it all becomes easier and more natural. Problems like that went away for me after awhile.

It seems the more and more I practice OBE and get more near-success attempts, the more it seems clear to me that your desire to project has great influence, but not in the way you think.. Having the intention to OBE when you practice is of course necessary, but when doing it you must put the idea of wanting OBE completely out of your mind. You must be completely apathetic to the experience for true success. As long as I've been trying I have learned a great deal many things, and I believe in OBE more than ever even without having done it. Because of this I am less eager in my attempts, less serious, more serene. And I personally think it makes ALL the difference.

Those are vibrations as far as I know as I experience the same thing.. All I can say is stay focused on your exit technique as best as you can and remain passive to all the weird feelings. And not tensing up at that point is very important.

I have alot of difficulty staying awake and focused enough to try OBE before bed. That could likely be the case.. Try during the day when you're more awake and see what kind of comparative results you get.

I use the same type of thing to an extent. Its kind of like pretending you're having vibrations. And if you're relaxed deep enough the 'fake' feelings can be really effective in bringing on vibrations immediately. I use swaying to sides and up/down and also imagining some kind of spinning/twirling image and combine it with trying to feel myself rotating in a circle along with it. But that rotation can be really hard to force yourself to feel.

Personally I think the trance thing varies. For me, I am simply unable to 'clear my mind' of all thought. I think as long as your mind is relaxed, not 'off', but just relaxed, then you're good. I mean how can your mind be both calm AND focused at the same time? Now, having random thoughts interrupting you from whatever exit technique you're focusing on could cause problems but that just takes more willpower and maybe practice to fix.
