If you saw Matrix you might remember Neo's line just before the elevator drops in the shaft with bombs. He said "There is no spoon" or something like that where he refers to the spoon bending capabilities of himself and a little boy earlier in the film.
Obviously the trick is realizing that this is not the ultimate reality and that "you"(your soul) are above this illusionary reality so that you can mold it at will. Of course only a Jesus figure can completely ignore the illusion and walk on water or be raised from the dead, but who knows what we can manage if we just go beyond ourselves?
Obviously I am ignoring making a direct answer like some sphinx saying that your question shows you do not get it and are looking in the wrong direction.
On the other hand yuri geller was probably just a cheap magician as real adepts don't display such talents for the public on TV. So I would not get obsessed with it because you really believe what he did with the spoons was real.
