I think what they're saying it teleportation is too hard.

there is that guy Albert Taylor he was a NASA engineer or something and he's now considered an authority on OBE.  and didn't Gregg Braden used to be some kind of scientist for NASA also
maybe NASA are trying to cut costs by astral-projecting off the planet rather than flying lol

I've got to say I got hold of 5 people you meet in heaven largely based on this thread, didn't really expect to get into it, but it really is a good read, really moving

bondgirl lol bond here,
here is a link to an article on the body of light -http://www.hermetic.com/stavish/essays/bodylight.html

thanks for your responses

I'm about to begin anew with another effort to finally crack astral projection
I've had some experiences before but none which I've been really blown away by.
I had wondered if the western mystery techniques would induce a more intense experience or anything like that
one thing I would find pretty interesting is the idea of focusing on one seriphot (is that the correct term?) on the tree of life and experiencing that
is that something you could do with the more new-age methods?

I can't think of names of the top of my head
I'm reading 'The Secret History of the World' by Jonathon Black just now (v good)
I recently read 'The Occult Tradition' by David S Katz
& from these I got the impression of the prominent occultists being ex-priests or ex-clergy
maybe I'm mistaken
but if you think of the Knights Templar as an obvious example, you'll see where I'm coming from
I'll have to get that book by Rudolf Steiner, I keep coming across his name but I've never really read any of his stuff.  It looks pricey on Amazon though, do you know if it's available as an ebook anywhere.  I've been wanting to get his book on Rosicrucians for a while as well, is it a good read.

Hi
I've been reading up a bit on the history of esoteric stuff and it strikes me that a lot of historical occult figures have been monks or studied to be priests or similar
Why do you think this could be?
Would it be that you would learn esoteric stuff secretly if you joined a monastery?
Or is it a bit like going to 'the dark side of the force'?
what d'you reckon?

Hi
I just wondered if there are considered to be any benefits to 'western mystery tradition' astral projection techniques such as the 'body of light' compared to more modern methods such as phasing, hemi sync, robert bruce's methods, etc.

I would reccomend you try the mp3s from this site - http://gnomad.info/
Also there is a good program called sbagen which you can run on your pc to give free binaural sounds

Welcome to Book Reviews! / Monkey
July 13, 2008, 15:27:12
I'm really enjoying this book and thought other members might enjoy it also so felt I should write a review.
It's the book that the old 'Monkey' tv show was based on you know the one with the kung fu monkey.  The book is based on a 16th Century chinese epic.
I would say the book is more of a good laugh than a really enlightening read or anything, although it's supposed to be, as the original was a satire.  It does give an insight into taoist/kung fu beliefs though imo.
If this appeals to you at all, I would recommend you get hold of a copy.

Hi I am wondering if you got attuned to an energy, for example a reiki attunement or even something more esoteric, supposing you didn't feel comfortable with the energy afterwards is it possible to un-attune yourself & if so is it a trivial matter?

Do you need to set your alarm to get up at a specific time for this technique or is it Ok if you just do it if you wake naturally during the night?
#87
I've only tried the techniques in part 1 of the video, and I'd have to say, yes I think they do work, but at the same time they are not particuarly revolutionary techniques.
Also I happen to know that the saltcube guy is planning to release another film soon so the current DVD may soon be no longer available.
If you want a simple techique to OBE I would recommend the DVD, it is worth the money.

for me, it was acquaintances who told me about astral projection when I was younger, although it was a hard slog finding information on how to do so as there was no internet to speak of then and bookshops had few books on the subject
I sometimes wonder how I would have turned out if noone had mentioned it
#89
that looks like good fun

What do you think would happen if you RV'd a reptilian being or examined them while out of body?
For example if the conspiracy theories about the Queen were true or if Count Saint Germain was a reptilian and you RV'd them what would happen?
Would they open a can of spiritual whup-butt on you?

I think the karma is a good idea if anything but I don't like the astral energy because you could just post nonsense and get a good rating.  & I can't see the point in it as just below you can see the number of posts the member has made anyway

I had considered taking this course in the past
Are the exercises very different from the ones in Mastering Astral Projection (or Astral Dynamics)?
#93
Hi I would like feedback on Gerald O'Donell's RV/RI courses, the ones that are available from probablefuture.com.
The reason is, I'm in the middle of the combined course, and as much as I enjoy following the tapes... I sometimes dowse to assess how worthwhile the course is and get very negative feedback from the pendulum.
If you have taken the courses, were you pleased with it, or did you think it was a waste of time?
Thanks in advance from

that's amazing!  I got a triangle and a circle
I'd be interested to know what influencing technique you used

Hi did the UK members see Derren Brown's Trick or Treat on Friday night
He hypnotized Dr Who actor David Tennant and made him perform a form of remote viewing/mind projection
It was very impressive
You should be able to see it on More4 website up until Thu I think

I've tried it too

Hi I've got a basic question about the non-dualist philosophy

According to non-dualist philosophy, could it be said that nothing is any better than anything else?

For example, could it be said (according to the non-dualist philosophy) that an advanced manifestation technique is no more likely to succeed than a simple technique like creative visualization?

I hope you can clarify this for me, as I greatly enjoyed Russell Targ's book on this subject but am not sure if I have got the wrong end of the stick.

Hi
I've got a couple of questions for members that have attended an astral projection (or other psychic-type) seminar

Did you tell work colleagues/relatives exactly what you were doing?  Like, if you book time off work the conversation steers towards what you've got planned

Also, were you satisfied with the progress in your astral projection abilities over the duration of the seminar?  and could you do it as well when you got home?

Thanks from

Hi
I've got the basic Silva Ultramind home study - I was a bit disappointed to be honest
I see there's also a Silva Ultramind Remote Viewing/Remote Influencing home study.  I'm a bit reluctant to buy that as well though.
Would anyone be prepared to share the Silva Ultramind remote viewing technique?
& are the remote influencing techniques the same as the standard Silva method techniques like '3 scenes' or creative visualization?

also, am I right in thinking there is a type of remote viewing which is like OBE/LD in terms of clarity and then the viewer can pick out detailed information about the scene?   ...as opposed to most of the types of remote viewing I've come across where you seem to get quite vague impressions?
if so, what's this type of remote viewing called?  & can anyone recommend a book/product which teaches it?

Thanks in advance from

Physical, mainly, but also mental.
