Hello!

Well, something happened to me while I was meditating a month ago.
It was the first time I managed to stay in the vibrational state for longer then just seconds.
The vibrational state passed (I think, kind of unclear), and all of the sudden I felt as if I was flying from where I was lying at rocket speed.
Straight forward, and then it stopped and I was doing forward flips in the air. I still felt my body, and I could really feel my teeth clenching hard. I mean real hard!
At the same time I was still flipping forward in the other me, so I could feel my body and the other me.
I couldn't see anything, but its as if in my head I saw that I was in some grey space.
I got kinda scared because of my teeth, so I checked them with my tongue and they were not clenching.
There was even space between my teethes. I came out of it all because I did that.

Has this happened to anyone? I mean the rocket speed and the flipping around weightless.
Thanks!

Nice!
I hope to experience this one day myself as I am quite a thrill seeker. Seriously, I love roller coasters and given the chance would fly in a fighter jet in the blink of an eye. Sounds awesome though! Were you sitting up when you were meditating? I find it hard to fully let go when seated in lotus or even Indian style as my ankles start to annoy me.

Probably something like this, lol!  :-D http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AQXVHITd1N4

It's all in fun. I apologize to the OP for hijacking your thread.

This is almost as funny as comparing the shadow beings to heffalumps. Hehe.
Now whenever I see them, I laugh. :)

Kathryn, my better half tells me her dreams every morning... or it'll be about 2am and I'll hear her shout from the bedroom "Ben?" ... "Yeah?"... "Do you wanna make a decaf?"... where I will and we'll both go into the back room and she'll tell me about the dream she's had.

It was lovely one night:

I was drawing away on my tablet and she I heard get up and enter the room... "Ben!!! I need a coffee.. I've just been watching you working on your computer in an OOBE". The term OOBE is very common in this house... said "uubee"  :-D She was lying on her front and said she was shifting around in Sleep Paralysis and thought it had ended.. .so she got up and came into the living room and saw me working away on a drawing.. by that time she had figured out she was Out of body. She walked over to me to tell me and came around in bed... then came in for real. Funny thing was.. I had actually took my laptop and tablet onto the sofa as she had seen. I have a work station in the living room.

@ Dlosp

It really doesn't matter what the mantra is. It could be anything. There is no magic special mantra. As long as it is your own or something that works for you then it doesn't matter.

Dlosp,

Just like Beedkin said. It really doesn't matter what mantra you use. I would think you can use any word that you would like. The one that I have been using has been gir tee tock on the exhale. Say whatever mantra in your head but don't focus on your breathing. Just feel relaxed and let go. Easier said then done. But you just have to allow yourself to just stop everything and go where the flow takes you.

Here is a great way to learn to ALLOW a scene to develop.

Click on this link, sit/lay back, turn your screen off and close your eyes. Now that you are in darkness, ALLOW images to form. But, stay with those images/visuals. ALLOW them to become so vivid that you are a part of the scene. Feel the energy created by that scene. Practice this often, but don't create the images yourself, ALLOW them to manifest before your eyes.

You will find in time that you can join the scene in mere seconds. This is what Practice leads to and why we strive so hard for people to do it.

At first you will find this hard, but stay the course. 10 minutes or so each day and you will see enormous progress with your NPR visions.

This is a great soundtrack to use. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zKuZ_3XjbA0

Good Luck and Safe Travels my friends!  :-)

Hey there, Lion!

Thank you for the advice. It's just what I need. This is exactly the stage that I am in. :) But for some reason the link doesn't work for me. I'm using an IPad though, so maybe that has something to do with it.

It sounds like you are interacting with others in the nonphysical. We all do this... but rarely sit down and talk about it with our family and friends. Imagine if it was a custom to upon meeting each other every day, we discussed what we all dreamt of. I mean close friends and family... people we love and know.

I have recently opened up this dialogue with my friends and family and find that we all interact on some level.. mostly directly and quite obviously. This isn't subtle.

Your 'Phasing' seems to be coming along nicely... random images and scenes.

You are becoming nonphysical and waking up. This is good. :)

Thank you for your reply, Beedkin. I find this all fascinating. Its a whole new world without limits. Freedom. :)
My boy friend is very interested in dreams so I try and ask him often if he had any interesting ones. Especially, if I had a dream of which he was in the night before.
The more I experience of this, the more interested I become. More questions. More possibilities! :) I am very excited to continue on my journey because it sure has been incredible.

 :-D Hello everyone!

I just wanted to share my most recent experience because it was very different from any of my past sessions.
So I was doing my usual pre sleep ap practice. Almost as soon as I layed down, my whole body melted away and disappeared. Now, I have experienced losing the feeling of body before, but no where near this quick and thoroughly. I was listening to a binrual beat that was intended for ap. After some time I started to hear what sounded like a song from a radio overlayed on the binurals. I tried to be passive, but I was so intrigued. It was some sort of rock song that I have never heard before. It had lyrics but I could not make them out. I started to wonder if I was actually hearing this in the physical or not. After this... I started to see vivid moving images! This is big for me because before it was just stills most of the time. I kept seeing all sorts of differnt fabrics. The texture and detail were different for each. Then I saw young blonde haired child sitting in a front yard on a beautiful day. The grass was so green and the sky so blue. A woman that looked like her grandmother came out to give her some sort of cookie. I remember both of their faces well. CRAZY! :) I feel like I'm really making progress. What do you think? Am I right about to take a dip I into the astral? :)

Also, I just wanted to say that the methods that I have been using lately are actually two.  I start off with a mantra. And then when I lose track of the mantra I squish or stretch my consciousness. By then, the images start popping up!

Another completely unrelated thought and question set...
I have been practicing ap for a few months now. But just lately, I have been having vivid dreams that I can remember. On top of  this I had a dream about something and then my boy friend texted me that morning and pretty much told me he sort of had the same dream without me even saying anything. Now, it wasn't exactly the same I don't think. But the same jist of scenario. And a few days later I have a dream about someone that I haven't talked to in a while. The next morning when I woke up I received a text from this person. What is this? I'm still having dreams like this and wondering if it's something more then just a dream? Or am I crazy? Lol.

Everyone,

I am so glad that you guys find this technique interesting.
It was just something I sort of stumbled on and lately its really been working for me. :) I just had a new experience ladt night while using this technique and I can't wait to write about it and share it with you all.
Something about moving my eyes back and forth in small left to right movements really zones me out. Thank you all for your kind words. See you in the astral soon! :)

 :?

Ok... so this is going to sound weird, but I thought others may want to give this a shot.

Lately, when I am deep into an ap session and staring at the blackness in front of me... I find what I can take that darkness and squish it down into a flatness so that it expands horizontally to the sides. Eventually it feels 3d. It makes my awareness feel pin pointed; like everything is aligned perfectly. All I have to do is just think about this happening and sort of move my eyes in a small left to right direction repeatedly. Almost like reading a book. Has anyone heard of this before or tried it? I feel like its really helping! :-)

I've had the most success being on my side. I don't think the positions matter so much. Whatever gives you success, roll with it. Experiment. See what happens. I think the biggest thing is being comfortable.

Good to know! I think I'll try laying on my side as well and see what happens. Hopefully I don't get too comfy and fall asleep. Haha. Thanks, chopstick! :)

 :?

Question.
Is it possbible to project or meditate in positions others then sitting in lotus or laying on ones back? I find that I am fully comfortable when I lay on my stomach or if I curl into a ball on my side. What do you think?

When I was little... I saw one with wings in real life at night when I went downstairs to the bathroom. I stood there with my mouth open trying to make sense of it. Haha. My mom saw it too a week later.

I'm not sure if these guys are different. But I want to do some more research. Hmmm. Jinns you say? Interesting!

You mean like these guys?

I don't know. When I tried to touch them they weren't made of anything... or weren't of substance. I've seen them a few times and they are very common.

Holy crap, batman!
That's them! Except they are black. Would love to know more. I have seen them at least four times now. I saw one the first time. Last time, there were a few. I tried to 'talk' to one....but no use.

 :-D

As I deeply relax and stare at the darkness before me, I often see what looks like hooded shadow people looking down on me. They are darker then the darkness of the inside of eyelids; pretty much one big blob of black. Sometimes they whiz around. I'm not afraid of them. I  just don't know what they are. I actually laid there and in my mind said hello to see what would happen! Sometimes there is just one and other times there are several. Anyway, anyone else experience this or have any idea what they are? Thanks guys!

When I saw this video it really struck a chord deep within me and I wanted to share it with you all. In a way, I imagine that each one of us are like the people in this video; Meditating/projecting to know our true selves better. Yet even though we practice this by ourselves, we are never truly alone in our journey. I find the music and imagery in this video to be both awe inspiring and beautiful. But maybe some might find it a bit sad?

For me it showed me the cycle of life. From young to old, we all search for something that many never find. :) so many cycles in life that never end.
I hope you find this to be as beautiful as I did.
Plus, who doesn't love big cats?  :-D
And the funny part is when I practice meditation/projection my cat always seems to be near. Maybe they are on to something?

It doesn't have to happen only before and after your yoga practices.  Your yoga practices ARE meditation.  :)

http://unlimitedboundaries.ca/2012/02/19/adyashanti-true-meditation-series/

Give this a listen. Adyashanti has a great way of explaining it.  :)

:-o
Thanks so much, Xanth! Such a good point.
Last night I was practicing ap and I was closer to projecting then I ever have been. I was just using silence. No binaural beats. I was also using the mantra that sounds like gur tea tock on the exhales. I had these waves of sensations come over me. The first one felt like I was made of liquid and was in a boat or something. The second one my upper and lower body where rotating in opposite circles. Amazing! Then, I saw a big white flash. It actually surprised me. I also started to hear what sounded like a woman sighing in my ear from time to time. So I tried my best to remain calm, passive, and positive. My vison was flooded with blue light on the left side and on the right side I saw this beautiful bluish woman dressed in white. Very angelic. Because of this i was not scared or fearful but blissfully happy. I think there was a partial smile on my face. The woman was replaced by a BIG flower in the upper left corner of my vision. I was moving closer to the flower. Almost like I was going to go into it... And if I would have I really think that this would have been my first journey!

A fire truck came barreling down the road... Broke my concentration.
I was so so so close. Thank you everyone for your inspiration. I can't tell you how excited I am! :) I wonder what's going to happen next!!!!

Try a search on Youtube for Paul Collier Playlists. After listening to a few of his Binaural Beats videos you might see your opinion may change.
Excellent ones to check out are 2012, Defragmenting the mind, Song 54, Facing the Unknown, Taken up in the sky and The Deep.
Good Luck and Safe Travels!  :-)

Oh I looked up all of those videos on YouTube! The one i really love is Taken Up in the Sky. Reminds me of a winter morning in a forest. Beautiful. Thank you for sharing. Def going to incorporate some of these.

Ive tried them numerous times an they distract me from relaxing. Also i usially
Listen to music while going to bed so its not very effective for phasing.

Ah I can see why binurals would not work for everyone. Like I said, there are select few that really help me relax. Otherwise, they distract me!

Has anyone here heard of ear plugs?  :-D

I use them when there's snoring... and it makes for a purer experience with no unexpected noises.

I have had quite a few experiences while being a passenger in a car. Maybe the droning engine creates a 'white noise' effect.

Maybe a pair of headphones simply playing white noise on low volume.

HA! Sadly, ear plugs do not work for me as I have fantastic hearing. Strong ears, weak eyes. That's why I use binurals to sometimes drown out whatever sound may be around me. :) But good idea!

I just use silence... always have. :)

I found that the only problem with the beats is that they end... also that they are misinterpreted as a 'needed' thing by those who use them.

Each to their own as they say.

I'm going to try and experiment with both and see what happens. There are only a few beats that really allow me to fully relax. Most of them are the Tibetan bowl sounds.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xDuweaUlAyE&feature=youtube_gdata_player

I think this works for me because the sound is very similar to the sound that I hear within my head when unto using binurals at all!

Please share with me your thoughts on this!

Do you like binaural beats when meditating or practicing ap? ....Or do you prefer silence? I often use binaurals because of the noise in the house that could distract me. However, I find that when I use silence I tend to focus on the ringing sound inside my head. It's almost like my body/mind harmonizes with that the sound. Ever experience this?

Also, if you have a favorite binaural please share it! :) I would love to hear what works for all of you!

I hope you all are having a wonderful day and night!

Meditate.

This is a good idea. I often do this before and after my yoga practice. And then after that, I practice ap when in corpse pose. :)

Thank you for the link. Its funny because before posting this thread, I actually searched extensively through these forums. So I have read that post. It's very helpful and definitely something that I will keep in mind. I have pretty much read all the stickies that pertained to ap technique. However... Anymore resources would be appreciated! The more the merrier! :) I love to learn.
