Greetings All  
Here I am pleased to post the fourth and last of the OBE Exit Polls. This poll deals with several phenomena that people sometimes experience while out of body.

Part One Phenomena experienced during an OBE.
During an OBE have you ever experienced (Yes or No)---
1) Acute senses, especially, but not limited to, sight and hearing?
2) Experienced confusion and/or fear?
3) Experienced extreme happiness, elation, joy and/or excitement ?
4) Have you ever witnessed anything while out of body that was actually confirmed or verified later?
5) Performed magic (magick) or had a special psychic ability?
6) Been under the influence of alcohol or Any type of mind altering substance (including OTC and prescription medication)?
7) Encountered any form of barrier that prevented you from continuing your travels?

Part Two Miscellaneous Phenomena
Please answer Yes or No to the following questions.
Have you ever ---
8 ) Used either a brain wave generator, hemi-sync music or a binaural beat CD/tape to help facilitate an OBE?
9) Ever encountered a very powerful superphysical or bio energy during an OBE?
10) Do you regularly practice meditation?
11) Have you ever deliberately induced an OBE directly from a dream or lucid dream?
12) Have you ever seen your own physical body from a point of view outside of your physical body during an OBE?

What you experienced was most probably a partial projection. The upper half of your astral/ethereal body separated from your physical body. The lower halves were still in alignment. Next time that it happens you can roll out of body to induce a full separation. If you manage a full OBE then don't be surprised to see your physical body lying asleep in bed as that is normal. Also be aware that the physical body can exert a very strong pull on the astral body so try to get at least 10 to 15 feet away otherwise you might experience distorted senses and confusion.

I don't know much about demonology. But I do visit some of the bigger UFO sites (like MUFON) from time to time and also watch the Ancient Aliens shows on tv (History Channel ?) All of it Is quite interesting.

Yes, it is possible for a person to get confirmation of events that she/he has seen while out of body. But it is not easy to do so and is relatively rare. For example sometimes a person sees what a family member or a friend is doing in another house. The person will then talk to the family member or friend after the OBE and ask them what they were doing. Sometimes the actions are verified. That might be an interesting experiment to try with your family or friends if you are able to get out of body.

Take any opportunity to go OOB if possible. And one of the best opportunities is actually just after an OBE has ended. Cause if you managed to 'get out' once then it is quite possible to do it again. This happened to me several times (once up to six OBEs back to back to...) The only downside to it is that it is easy to forget things that happened, especially in the first couple of projections, but, oh well.

OBE Exit Poll 3

Greetings everybody.  Here, once again I present an OBE Exit Poll (this is # 3 of 4). Again there are Two parts of multiple choice questions. Part One deals with People and/or beings/creatures that you have met (or seen) while out of body. Part Two has questions about places (either astral or physical) that you have visited during an OBE.

Part One People/beings/creatures encountered during an OBE.
During Any of your OBEs have you ever met or seen ---
1) A member of your family? (This includes grandparents, aunts, uncles, etc)
2) A familiar person (including a friend or neighbor) who was not a part of your family?
3) An unfamiliar astral person (spirit, ghost or discarnate)?
4) Any astral animals (including familiar pets) ?
5) Any religious figures (Jesus, Buddha, angel, demon or a deity, etc)?
6) Any type of astral Faerie creature (including elf, sprite, gnome or elemental)?
7 ) Any other type of astral creature not covered above? (If so please specify.)

Part Two Places (astral and physical) that you have visited while out of body.
During Any of your OBEs have you ever visited ---
8 ) Any unfamiliar physical location (a place that you had been to before) but which was at least 10 miles from the location where you resided?
9) Any unfamiliar physical location (a place which you had never physically been to before)?
10) Any place (physical or astral) where you met deceased family or friends?
11) Any place that was Not of the current time period (have you ever been to a place that was forward or backward in time) ?
12) Outer space or an alien planet?
13) Travelled through a portal, a mirror, a tunnel or a stargate?

All of these questions have simple yes or no answers. So the easiest way to answer is probably to type a Y (Yes) or N (No) next to the number of the question. If for any reason, you are not sure about an answer to a particular question please just leave that question unanswered.
I will post OBE Exit Poll # 4 sometime late next week or next weekend. # 4 will be the last of the OBE Exit Polls. Then once I amass and collate all the info from the 4 OBE exit polls I will update and post (link) the Informal OBE Survey and that should be in about 2 or 3 weeks. So, again, thanx to all who have responded and will respond. If anyone has a comment or a question about anything then please either include it in your response or you can pm or email me.

I think you got the right idea. And I think it is the unconscious desire to go somewhere specific or just get OOB in general that is the catalyst for most spontaneous OBEs. 
I also agree about multiple versions of API. Despite there being only the one picture of API no two people will experience API exactly the same. Especially since no one had ever been there before.

Yes, I'd say that Was an OBE. Projecting out of a lucid dream is an effective and common way of going out of body. Maybe there were some dream elements and imagery mixed in with the astral locale. And where you travelled to Was an astral locale (not a physical location).
That small leprachaun/elf creature you encountered probably does have an objective existence. He was probably Not a guide, however.  Remember that leprachauns and other 'wee folk' are notable for being misleading and deceitful or untruthful. They are not actually hostile or evil, its just that they try to trick and fool the unwary. Which is why you never got out of that city.

Yes, those experiences are most probably OBEs. The fact that you keep going to an old temple in China Must be significant in some way. The place is probably an actual physical location somewhere in Asia or maybe a non-physical astral realm. To find out why that place is significant I think you need to talk to somebody and learn as much as possible about the place. Find out of it is a physical place or an astral realm. If you can get enough info about the place then you might be able to make 'heads or tails' of why you keep going there.

The simple truth is that very few people know how to get to API. If a lot of people knew how to get there then people would be going there all the time. And believe me very few people have ever been there. AS far as I know only Summerlander has been there in the last six months and I suspect that his visit there was largely unplanned.

My only suggestion is to provide a paragraph of reading references. You know, for example Robert Monroe "Journeys Out of the Body", William Buhlman "Adventures Beyond the Body", Albert Taylor "Soul Traveler", etc.

I agree with Astral316. There shouldn't be any negative affects while out of body --- provided you do not consume too much alcohol or, whatever  . Moderate amounts will probably have no affect on any OBE. I have had several OBEs after drinking, say, about half or threequarters (3/4) of a bottle of wine the night before. I was lucid and in control during all those OBEs. So, IMO, its perfectly okay to project under those conditions.

You were quite fortunate to have someone in your family that was psychically gifted. Having someone else to talk to about such things is surely a big advantage.

The noises that you heard and the slight tingling vibrations that you felt are both indicators that an OBE is about to happen. Noises and vibrations are commonly experienced right before an OBE projection occurs. If you had been aware of this then you might have been able to deliberately induce an OBE.
There are many ways to induce an OBE. So if you are interested in trying this I suggest looking at the FAQ section in this website for methods and techniques.

That may well have been an OBE but you really need to see something to convince yourself that you are out of body. So the next time that it happens try using an affirmation to help vision, something like "Vision Now !" or "Clarity Now !" Seeing is believing as they say!

Thanx for the response. You make a very good point. Yes there were a Lot more interesting things to do OOB than order food in a small restaurant. And honestly, lately in recent OBEs I have not had much control over where to go and what to do. The OBEs just sort of progress by themselves.
So that is surely something I need to work on in future projections. For instance I have a list of interesting astral locations from past OBEs to revisit. There is Astral Pulse Island to go to. The list is actually quite extensive.

This is my latest OBE. Though it occurred back in the end of January I have been somewhat negligent and am just posting it now. So take a look and see what you think about this one which is titled ---

"Flight To New Orleans"

Monday January 31, 2011 (OBE # 101)
   This began a few miles outside New Orleans. I had already separated and teleported to a place that was either an unfamiliar physical location or a BST (probably the former).  So I am out of body in a quiet country area near a two lane road. It's a warm day and nobody is around. It's time for me to start heading off somewhere. I sensed a major city was nearby but was unsure how close it was (and it could have been two hours or more walking distance away).
   Fortunately I immediately realized that flying would be much faster and safer. So I took to the air and the flying skills were good. It was an uneventful flight, most of it anyway. About 10 minutes later I began to see a few people, some vehicles and an occasional animal. These may have been physical beings or they may have been discarnates. Very few people took any notice of me.
   It was actually a very long flight which lasted over half an hour, maybe 40 to 50 minutes. Towards the end of the flight when I neared the outskirts of the city a few people could be seen flying about. Here I had trouble maintaining height and speed and dropped down from over 100 feet to as low as 10 feet.
   Near New Orleans more and more people were about. A few people tried to either fly up or jump up and catch me!?! Only two or three people were able to fly. About 10 or so other people tried to jump up and pull me down. Fortunately I rather easily eluded all their hostile efforts.
   Of greater concern, however, was a series of (near) violent encounters with hostile animals. Most of these were dogs and a few were various African herd animals including water buffalo (?) (so maybe this was a BST and not physical New Orleans). Since the closer I got to the city the harder it became to fly it was extremely difficult to stay high enough to avoid these animals. A few of the dogs managed to jump up an insane distance (20 feet or more) and nearly bit me. Finally I  reached the New Orleans city limits after covering the final few hundred yards over what looked to be an abandoned building in a very large industrial yard. Going just high enough to elude the last dog I reached New Orleans proper and headed towards a main street.
   Now my energy must have been quite low. The flight was over as I landed outside a small restaurant. Going inside this burger joint I waited behind a customer who was ordering to a cook. Two more customers waited for their food in another room. One of these men made a disparaging joke about the restaurant's food yet I ordered two hamburgers anyway. The cook asked if I wanted cheese and I did. The sense of smell was quite good here as the grilled burgers had a very appetizing aroma. Before I could eat the OBE ended and I was back in my physical body (in Pittsburgh).
   Notes  The time was between 6:30 and 7:45 AM. Duration of the OBE was at least 40 to 50 minutes, probably longer. I lay on my right side. The location was an unfamiliar physical area or a BST (in and near New Orleans). There were many unfamiliar people and animals (most probably were discarnate). Deliberate (passive),  Acute sense of smell,  Emotional,  Flight,  Teleport,  Meditation (before),  Pranayama (before),  Affirmations (before) and also practiced rope cargo net before sleep.

This was a long experience, longer than nearly any of my other OBEs. The other notable aspect was the 'reality' of the restaurant which in all respects appeared completely physical (yes, even down to the appetizing aroma of the food).

Those vibrations are actually a good sign. Vibrations are usually an accurate indicator that an OBE is about to happen. So if you are near the sleep stage yet still awake and the vibrations happen it should be possible to deliberately project and go out of body. And it IS possible to do that btw.
There are many methods and techniques to deliberately go out of body and those can be found in the FAQ and elsewhere in the forums.

Personally I have encountered the following beings/creatures while out of body ---

1) elementals, including one elemental (not sure what type) that I have become familiar with,
2) a dragon during one memorable OBE
3) astral wildlife, normal animals, on several occasions
4) shadow people during one OBE and
5) normal people discarnates/spirits on the astral/ethereal plane.

Have you tried either a banishing ritual or psychic shielding?? Both of these require more detail and explanation than space and time now allow so try looking through or searching the 'Welcome to the Energy Body and Chakras Forum' and the 'Welcome to Magic" forum here at AstralPulse. Also Robert Bruce is Very big on Psychic Defense (he wrote an entire book about it) so you can also go to the astralsdynamics website. Also a google search will turn up LOADS of info on both.
