My third eye has been very active today and yesterday, and while I was meditating earlier I started getting the flashing lights thing (at the starts, then a little primary work - 3rd eye really switches on - flashes become slightly more noteable and brighter). I could also at points feel a slight pulsing around the eyes/forehead area. The flashes were at about 10Hz this time - I find that there is a definate focus and/or mindstae which is needed to get most visuals, but infruriatingly I cannot quite grasp it! Its either a look-at-it-and-it-vanishes type thing or concentration-required. Most likely some odd combination of the two (concentrating while holding a certain focus and state of mind). I was too consious of trying / not trying to concentrate on them that I couldn't release conscious control, which might help. Bit like seeing auras or real time sight? The only instances I have with the second is when I am coming back towards normal waking conscious eg out of very deep mediation (er...asleep) or upon waking in the morning.
Anyone got any further ideas???

#752
Hey thats forming quite a nice curve. I bet I could fit an equation to it!

#753
quote:
So, you reckon this is linked to clairvoyance? Any ideas how to improve in this area?

Most likely if your third eye is very prominent. I know what you mean about activating on its own accord, I genearally just skip around it when working on the primaries. To train yourself for full clairvoyance, well I can only tell you what I hear. Like I said, regular trance meditation and introspection, perhaps also do some magick like the Middle Pillar exercise, all of which will help purify and strengthen your energies. Then lots of energy raising and primary chakra work, for full clairvoyant attempts go deep activation into the third eye.
RB also says taping a magnet to your forehead for short periods of time and eating calcium supplement pills can be benefitial.
good luck

There is one entity that I want to kick the s**t out of. Which has been attached to me and my father and my family/bloodline for a long time, and has caused immeaseable pain and sufforing.
Also can some entities not follow you to different planes? And if you are trying to exorcise someone running away won't do much good.

Hey!
Offend me?? Ha! You would have to try a hell of a lot harder than that!!
No to the most extent I aggree with you. So what you are saying is that consciousness=soul? -
quote:
You can never lose this consciousness (when your
body dies) because you are consciousness itself

But then many people are not very conscious at all! Take animals for example - or yourself when dreaming. You are "there", and experience conscioiusness to varying degrees from full lucid dreaming to barely aware of anything which is going on. I think that energy is the food of consciousness, and we affect our energies in turn leading to greater awareness but you have to Work at it. And then there is, as you say, the ultimate God beyond all Gods, YHVH perhaps, that knows everything ever. But this is not consciousness which we can relate to in any form what so ever. So then you can easily come to the consclusions that we are shards of consciouness, essentially unlimited but still under the (physical world) impressions of limitation. Then if you take the mind-split into effect along with remembering that many magickal practices involve the creation of thought forms/servitors/etc by reflecting off a certain part of our psyche, and that on even a higher level we are all different (thought forms of the creator), and you could come to the conclusion that we are not the entirety of the ultimate God but pieces of the whole. Admittedly with the potential to become the whole, and if/when we manage this we essentially become the same as God, and so ARE God, and there is then no division, and no perception of seperation. But, until I can fully realise this (as opposed to merely philosophising myself around the problem), the perception of seperation remains - I think that a very high degree of spirituality is required before this full realisation takes place, which is quite a major spiritual event from all I have read
My own take is kinda kabalistic, in that the "lower self" is what changes between lives (lower personality), and that the "higher self" (of ourselves)  is what carries on ad infinitum adding to itself, which can then be called "soul". This is the higher percepetion, and most peoples goal here is to raise and purify the lower self so that it may integrate with the higer self, leading to the initiated grade of adept, revolving around the Tiphareth, the Christ centre. Then, after that (eg RB) the next step it to integrate and become God in the fullest sense, initiation into Kether, the infinate unmanifest and point of all creation. Which is nice!!!!!
I also aggree that every religios book refects ultimate truth, although corrupted by the vanity and power seeking man (eg Christian "the only path to God is through me" - supposedly said by Jesus.....from what I know this is absolute garbage). But then also "ultimate" truth is still only that from out lowly perspective, living in the world of illusions (maya, gaia), and so not very ultimate at all!
perhaps, I am?
or more literally - I will be? But then if I am not that now, what am I???
headache material indeed....

Hey who was that bible character who had loads of hair and was really strong but then he got with some decietful women who was under the control of some hateful king and she chopped all his hair off in the night, and he ended up really weak, got captured and dies pulling down a temple he was imprisoned in...or something. And why do all serious spritual people have either reeeeaaaallly long hair or none at all????? eg Roberto Bruceo the dude said once he has long hair and a big beard - like to see that! I saw the head druid in England once on TV too and he had the same. But then Buddists like the Dalia Lama have no hair, as per their tradition I suppose.
I figured it could be something to do with lack of care about local culture and fashion and all that lowly malarky.

And if you are talking about women....just come to bath uni. My own theory is that the honies migraten in from local the area, leaving them desperately understocked....um
I'm going now before someone verbally kicks my head in lol

I get that too, repetetive low level flashing (3-5/second).
Big flashes of light which are like major strobes affecting the whole face and forehead are attibuted to the third eye chakra pulsing, which makes sense and is said to lead on to claivoyance, though I have no experience with that.
What is your most active primary chakra? Mine is third eye (blue)
I think that the thing you and I are experiencing is similar, with work we could both quite likely become clairvoyant, as this sort of thing is supposed to show latent talent. That you are experiencing this diuring projection attempts and meditation makes this the very likely caused. Regular trance, introspection and energy raising = success!! see if you can see anything within the flashes of light....
you could get your eyes checked just to be sure, but I very seriously doubt they will be able to tell you anything. I cannot think of any physical disorder which would caused that.
enjoy!

Hey
I saw a very cool article about a guy named Goa Gil the other day. The biography on his site www.goagil.com says:
"Since the beginning of time mankind has used music and dance to commune with the Spirit of Nature and the Spirit of the Universe... We are trying to use Trance Music and the Trance Dance Experience to set off a chain reaction in Consciousness... Through the Trance Dance Experience hopefully people will become more sensitive and aware of themselves, their surroundings, the crossroads of humanity, and the needs of the planet... With this Awareness comes Understanding and Compassion... THAT is the need of the hour, and the true Goa State of Mind !!!"

Anyway I am downloading some of his music at the moment which I am sure will be quality - I have grabbed a couple of his recommended songs (see interview at http://goatrance.free.fr/intervws/goagil.htm ) which are gooooooood.
The guy spent ages in India (born there I think) around the 60's meditating and spending time with guru types, and then decided to try and combine yoga and music. He is very shamanistic and his music is suppose to be "Redefining the Ancient Tribal Ritual for the 21st Century"
sounds pretty interesting yes?

In my usual week I will go:

Clubbing once (regular thursday alternative music), maybe twice (house/trance). Get very drunk.
Pub 1-4 times, perhaps for the odd pint after lectures (I find one beer can really lighten me up, makes me feel better without being anywhere near drunk) up for a full night and get absolutely ratted.
Last term was getting drunk averaging 2 nights a week. That effectively takes 2 days out (evening+next morning/afternon) for anything mystic/spiritual development. It also seems to lower your vibrations in the long run, making me go out more......
So I guess being a student does have its good points http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/images/icon_Smile_tongue.gif" border=0>

I tried a low dose of salvia once, I think its effects are very individual. I didn't find it anything like that though! It opened up a dark portion of my mind, worrying. I keep on meaning to get some a fair bit stronger (than normal x1, virtually useless) and delve a little deeper. Others I have spoken to who have given it a go said similar - it lights up alternative odd parts of your head. If you take enough you will probably have an out of body experience, often to meet an entity that says that it is the sprit of salvia. Talk of becoming one with the herb, literally, the entity says it needs to take over you for a while to do its work on earth, or something. Sounds highly sus to me, people cannot often remember much after opening up, and if I was there I would never aggree...
But this is just what I remember reading/hearing, I could be wrong. Individual.
If you take more than you should to OBE/IBE it becomes quite unpleasant, with an almost total disconnectedness from reality. But that would require quite a bit. When I bought it, it also came with a little sheet explaining the different levels of the high, and if I was to try it again I would get x10 strength, or 15 perhaps 20. You are supposed to be in there if it is x5 but some other similar stuff I bought I couldn't get anything out of (although I suspect that was dirt...)
I am sure there is much more of interest about it out there, check www.erowid.org

Welcome to Astral Chat! / about to break...

Hi again!

Well I actually live in the Falkland Island, which is where I go almost every holiday to see parents and generally chill out. So when I was depressed last term, at the end I just went 7000 miles away where there is little pressure of any kind, nothing to worry about, going out for lots of walks, purifying myself etc which is pure therapy for me. I just got back a few hours back, so I shall see how this term unfolds. Yeah, I'm a student, doing engineering and I don't think I really want to be an engineer, but I am in one of the best mech eng school in the country and everyone expects me to pull something good out of it all. Talk about pressure. What I think I really want to do is move to the caribbean and become a fisherman, or go live as a monk in some mystic monastry. But then I am sure there is a reason I am where I am - namely I am a lazy MFer, and being where I am gives me a chance to correct this, nomatter how much I dislike it (lots and lots). So yeah, same as qui-gong, when I am down I do try and remember that I am sure it serves a higher purpose, which is nice but it doesn't change how I feel. I just hang on t the hope that it will all be over one day. Whether that is sometime in 2012 or before, I don't know. The world is a crazy and often rediculous place, cos thats how people make it I guess.

with love
Rob

Welcome to Astral Chat! / about to break...

I don't know your lifestyle at all but these are all helpful things, do hope they help:

- Get some exercise in! Exercising helps break down toxins which otherwise build up your body making you feel all http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/images/icon_Smile_dead.gif" border=0>. It also releases positive ones making you feel http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/images/icon_Smile.gif" border=0>
- Buy pot plants and put them in your room...that is, plants in pots...not ganja. Rosemary is supposed to be very good at clearing up negativity (read some of Nita articles for some good ideas on herbal magick, leaving appropriate bits around the room to absorb unwanted energies)
- You have two choices - meditate (consciousness raising?), pray for help and guidance, go spiritual and/or concentrate on daily materialism and hedonism to try and drown out your feelings, keep yourself occupied. Both help stabilise you in some way. I used to smoke huge amounds of pot, but gave up a few months back. Then a couple of weeks ago I was feeling really depressed, pretty awful (had been for quite some while, very down most of last term, don't even know why), so I bought some, and smoked up. All my emotions, including the bad ones, vanished. Now this is not to say you should do the same, but just to illustrate that things like alcohol, drugs and such-like can be used sensibly to forget depressions and generally blotch out emotions. Short term solution anyway.
- Try and hang around people that are uplifting rather than make you feel down
- Examine your lifesytle carefully - the music you listen to, food you eat, things you spend your time doing all have effects on you mind, body and spirit, eg happy music uplifts you, and vice versa.
- Certain energy exercises are meant to drain negativity from your body. The one imagining thick black sludge (negative energy) is draining out of your feet and then a brilliantly white light above your head is pouring energy in is good for this. Also raise energy up through your primaries and then into the space above your head, draw it down around you and then ack into your feet and up again helps strengthen the aura.
- Do you know why you are feeling so bad? If not pendulum divination is useful to determine the exact cause (or in my case causes). Then apply the appropriate countermeasure or whatever. I found lots of negativity was coming my way from the a**hole that I am living with, so I shielded myself and quickly felt better.

Like I said, I was becoming more and more depressed last term and the causes were all slight but built up together, so know it can be quite a testing time. I wish you all the best anyway! Like Qui-Gon said, life truly really does have its ups and downs, and I think humanity as a whole is on a downer at the moment and has been for a while. Hang on in there.....I hear that what doesn't kill us makes us stronger, and we come out of it wiser and more knowing. Although I have yet to see this first hand, it kinda makes sense.

Frank - it sound very much like a lucid dream. Was the reality there very...er...real? That is, solid, full waking consciousness, not able to fly, exactly like the physical. If so thats a WILD - like a class of lucid dream, which you go into with a step from normal waking consciousness. Good fun, I cannot unfortunately get into them at will like you but one day heh. The reason there were no vibrations going in is because it was not an out of body experience, more an internal one. Therefore no energetic double needs to be created, without all the strong energy sensations caused by this (vibrations).
Oh, I have managed to have OBEs in a dream - twice one night. I got vibrations and everything, although not as strong as when done in the normal world. I am not sure about this, but it could simply be the mind remembering the vibrations from the real world and recreating the sensations. Or it could mean I was actually projecting in a dream, I dunno!

Oh you should add favourite colour: Blue
(always interesting, on the last forum about 10-15 people responded to this question with almost all saying blue, also some green&purple)

Vladmir: If there is only one soul, and we are division of it, cuts off the reflections of God, then is soul quantifyable? I mean, can one person then have more "soul" than another? And what are its properties while we are on the subject?
Food for thought, no more no less

Winged Wolf: why not? If you can accept the existance of demons, of which you claim to have such intimate knowledge, why not werewolves? It is possible that such a person would need to join forces with a demon-class entity to create enough power for physical change, and an upside-down pentegram could well work very well as a sigil, eg to channel energy and link the two beings. May also be something to do with being property of the demon, or whatever it is that helps the human out.
If you don't have any experience with this, it certainly doesn't mean nobody else does. "There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio,
than are dreamt of in your philosophy." said Shakespeare.

Nita: Interesting posts! I am impressed you were actually considering going back and fighting this thing. I would probably spend the next day laying bricks as they say....
But how do you think the changes are affected? Do you think that the person really would need to be joined with, say, a demon or are born with the ability? I imagine it uses a hell of a lot of energy, hence the big appetite. And why would the body change back into a human? That I don't understand...

OOoooohhhhh
...is beautiful....
....but a bit laggier.....

I had that problem before too, although it is now fixed.

nice one Adrian!

McArthur,
I do not think that the occult police can really be called equivalent to the astral knights, in the same way that an SAS marine is not a copper. The things RB talks about with the knights can more be called astral wars, where large groups of negs try and break through into other dimentions. Quite different to giving someone a slap on the wrist for invading someones privacy IMO.
As for making your own belief system, this I do aggree with, but to the same extent that I would follow a road map in a foreign country. If, when I get there, I find the map outdated or just plain wrong, then I will discard it. But until then, it's from a valid source, so I will follow what it says for as long as it is useful. In this context, you simply have to assess the reliability which, I have to say, in the case of RB has not failed me yet.
yours
Rob

you can think much deeper when in trance meditation, the annoying surface thoughts slowly phase out and a more profound level of mind comes into play. Envision a piece of music?? Don't really know what you mean but sounds good! Just try all these things, practise, is the only way you will ever find out.

Sit down, close your eyes, and let your mind sink into a trance (force it or in its own time, whatever you feel like). Then do/think something (productive?) - for instance, thinking nothing at all! Thats what I do anyway, although I usually just let my mind drift around the place and see where I end up.
Some people have elaborate meditations on specific themes, you might want to try that, set out a thought to start with and follow it through at the exclusion of everything else - maybe using audio sessions. Personally, I've never bothered with any of that, just go with the flow!
btw at first you will get plagued by lots of idle/useless/mundane/distracting thoughts, which getting into a trance can help with a lot. Pay them little attention and when you realise you are wandering off into irrelevancy, just cut the train of thought.
I like:
watching the images/movie screen behind closed eyelids (spectacular, better than any special effects, and gets you used to using a kind of mental "screen")
observing my own mind (find out where the thought impulse/spark originates from in your own head, physically, soon this will take on the slight and strange quality of an inner metaspace, very useful for increasing your powers of observation, also with practise allows you to annihilate thoughts before you really know what they are)
getting into a deeeep trance and letter my lower/deeper/unconscious mind take over (barely conscious) - when I come out of this state I usually don't have any real idea what I was doing. But it can be hard to make yourself get into this state, as your conscious mind needs to release control, and that not something you can *try* and do!

although, I am still quite slack when it comes to meditating, and when it comes down to it, it's a highly individual process, especially in results.

enjoy...

#772
I could recount numerous stories about telepathy between myself and my dad when I was ickle, but cannot personally remember any of them. I do however remember enjoying looking at the edges of objects and watching how they seemed to move, which could well have been the aura, but that memory is at about the age of 6-8. My first memory is at about the age of 4, so I think it is more than likely that most people experience these things but do not remember them, of the memories are blocked out or rationalised away.
Personally I see the decline of psychic skills as being in part use them or lose them, but mostly because of how the minds of children basically degrade as they get older, losing their previous purity. There would be many reasons for this, eg forced to concentrate on the phsyical (distanced from the non-phsycial), flaws forming in the character (all those negative qualities thrust on them by the world around, especially parents), even psychic attacks as a child forcing the mind to connect psychic impressions with bad. And with this degradation comes the forming of the ego and a distance to form between consciousness and the spiritual. Thats my theory anyway!

#773
Quick thought:
A major shamanistic practise which I believe is usually done at the start of a training shamans "apprentiship" (for lack of a better word) is the death/rebirth process. In this the aspiring youngun effectively dies to their old self to be born anew in a new light. This is a perfect example of the negative/thanatos energies being used for good purpose, and it also shows how this side/polarity must always be under the control and discretion of the light. Light can use dark but when dark starts being used indescriminently and with no control that is where the dangers lie. Although this is a subject which I fully admit I do not fully understand, eg why then should we seek to rid ourselves of all dark energies?? I go with the practise on one side and the theory on the other, for now I cannot link the two but maybe one day.

#774
Absolutely! But bear in mind that the "thanatos" and "eros" instincts can both be use for good or evil, as positive in the kabalistic sense does not really mean good and negative evil, though this is the way most people express it. This is because people do not particularly understand that the negative (essentially breaking down) can be put to good use - eg (ripped straight out of Dion Fortunes Mystical Quabalah!) detergent kills bacteria but you should not therefore say I will never wash plates with anything that may destroy life. And if the eros (positive) existed exlusively everywhere would soon get very crowded, and even chaotic. Both positive or negative when taken to extremes creates evil and disharmony, balance implies proper use of both together to create somthing which surpasses the simple addition of both sides of the tree.
That's the way I see it all anyway!

#775
Another wonderful post Violet! Sorry for making you feel uncomfortable, but I think it is also a good thing to recognise your positive traits along with the negative ones. Arrogance is with respect to other people and the need to have one over them, but to say "I am good at this" can just be honesty, as long as there is an eye on the greater reality. Although I suspect you have gone down this road of thinking, but just in case....

Anyway a very interesting trait I see in far too many people is the whole putting on of a face. A face is what someone wears and acts out with the knowledge that it goes against their true inner nature. Everyone has lots of ways of being, some people would say every person is a collection of different personalities, each of which comes into play in different circumstances (to which I say sure, but they are all still "me") - this is cool though as it is human nature, just in different times and places. To give an example of a face, a guy at a school I used to go to, very "cool" and "pupular" (we all know the crowd), been with a lot of girls, got drunk the the company of one of my mates and started going on about how he would give all those girls and experiences up to have one he could truly love. The next day he was all back to usual with the "its all about how many people you have slept with" routine. Sad but true, kinda like a painted armadillo lol .
Another interesting thing is how a face is what someone puts on to act out the extrovert (oh so popular in society), it is built up on the outside if you like. An introverted way of dealing with it is in "layers", which are built inwards. A face kinda adds false traits on whereas layers filter out different ways of being and traits, stemming the flow of info rather than distorting it. Thus people don't see what you don't think they will like, the result is similar both ways.

Now I am just theorising, and am not old enough yet to watch this thoroughly in the people I know, but I think that as people get older they more and more become the face which they have created. This causes a shift further and further away from their true self, and so God. There may be light in the heart of every person but it can get seriously hidden under all the muck which people impose/have imposed on themselves.
The next stage is when people reach a point in time where the need to create a face and distrance themselves from....themselves, grows less (as inevitably it is done for social reasons, which are eventually seen as false or empty). Then the inner and false selfs have a chance to close the gap, re-integrate and maybe even learn something from the whole fun process.
But hell I could be wrong, and this is all veeeery general..
hope it makes some sense!

Hmm, I should add "studying people" as one of my hobbies

Oh how to deal with the many-faced people: pity them, and show that they don't have to try and be someone else. Attempt to actively explore their inner nature with them while showing no negativity, as they will be very defensive and use any excuse to prove what they already think they know re that there is a need to close it off.

Now myself, I have never been able to put a face on, but I have maaany layers. Still attempting to destroy them, I think the only way to do it is to stop trying to distance yourself from the world, and start embracing it! New experience should be welcomed, not rejected because of what may go wrong (and probably will if that attitude is kept). Oh and ignore the fear. (wow writing stuff can really help find new info...)

interesting stuff aye

ps Violet I will get back to you real soon on the symbols thing, am planning a little pendulum divination first to reveal the energy patterns around/from the images
