I don't know if I got this right. Nezabaleta, you're saying that an astral projector could move a piece of magnetic tape across a table, or saying that an astral projector could leave an imprint on the magnetic tape for it to be seen on a VCR afterwards?

Welcome to Dreams! / can you cross the street?

In this dream I'm often unconscious.

Nay that sounds very interesting indeed. I don't know, it is possible, it just never occured to me though.

Thank you.[:)]

Wow, that sounds very cool Noblin, quite contemplative. During thunderstorms in dreams I usually feel threatened, but I was never stricken by the lighting. Thank you for sharing your experience.

The best way I've found to induce the hypnagogia is to try to read.

When I awake in between dreams I fall back asleep pretending to be reading an invisible book. I get deeply involved with that 'game'. Without seeing anything I turn the pages of the book, pretend I can see pictures... for some time while getting closer to sleep I may forget to pretend, but then I continue. After awhile doing this I can see a hazy shape of the book, I get even more involved and strain to read something, a word that be, then it appears.

It also helps me in the dreams when I'm losing focus.. I promptly search for something to read and my vision gets crystal clear.

I'm still to try reading sheet music.

Once while in a lucid dream I was told by a dream character that I could move through solid objects by making the sound 'Tssss' with my mouth when moving towards and through the object.

It's like the sound you hear when you open a can of soda. Just putting the tip of my tongue at the 'ceiling' of my mouth and blowing. I did this many times and it worked effectively.

It seems it volatizes the astral body, you become a sort of gas and can pass through anything. A projector here of the forums tested it and it worked for him too.

The slime method mentioned by APguy sounds interesting, I will try combine and see what happens.

There's this nice thing written on music heard by people who are passing away and those around them:

http://www.survivalafterdeath.org/books/barrett/dbv/chapter5.htm

It is very inspiring.

If you like you can read the whole book online:

Hey Kalonek,

It is possible yes, and it's something very useful. While in trance I usually think of a song to make me go deeper into the trance and project. Initially it starts playing in the background very faintly, and when I concentrate on the song willing it to get louder it gets very clear, like I'm on headphones listening to a cd.

One time I did this and made the song 'No Rain' by Blind Mellon start playing. I got out and went out through the window to find myself on the roof terrace of a building. I saw large heavy clouds, it was extremely clear, the air was so beautiful I can't explain, it was all just so pure. I scream in joy and the images darken a bit, I realize I better not scream or I might come back. I go on exploring walking on the outside of the building (like spiderman), I must be on the 9th floor. From there I can see the whole city, a parking lot, a few mountains far ahead, but no people, no movement. I try to fly down to the parking lot but end up losing it and awaking.

The song kept on playing till the end of the experience, but I didn't get to the end of the song. It might have lasted for 2 minutes.

First I'd say don't waste your dreams, enjoy them. Ending the dreams was a big mistake I used to make when trying to obe. Go for the projection when the dream is ending by itself.

The images will disappear and you'll be in the darkness, like when a film ends and a black screen appears with the credits, stay focused and keep yourself in the darkness, it's the trance. From there you can apply an exiting technique, try this one: feel yourself floating/moving to the ground in the middle of your bedroom, touch the floor, touch everything until you can see.

If you happened to miss the darkness and awake, urge yourself back to the last scene of your dream, if it's just a few minutes after you awoke you still can do it fairly easy. When you reach the state do the same thing, it's like disorienting yourself, suddenly you don't know you're in bed anymore, you're moving somewhere else, in thought you take yourself there and you can vividly feel you're there, you have to touch the things around you in order to gain vision and stabilize.

One other way to project from a dream is to spin. Spin inside your dream until the dream images disappear, keep on spinning in the dark and spin until new images appear.

Nope, they haven't found her yet.

A few days ago there was a clairvoyant on the tv talking about her case. He said she was still alive and was not being mistreated, and said he saw 2 men with her.

A friend mentally saw her locked in a house and 3 men. Said she was alive too.

She was last seen on January 9th, leaving her office for lunch.

I've read your dream The Bard, where did it seem to have taken place? Did you feel like you were in another country while it was happening?

Thank you for the participation Haematite and PDB.

I tried the pendulum method but instead of a pendulun I used a red ball of modeling clay. I was in my astral room and asked the ball to levitate if she was alive, and the ball levitated. I asked the ball to levitate if she was not dead, and the ball levitated. I asked the ball to levitate if she was dead, and the ball stood still. I asked the ball where she was, and the ball came flying towards my face. It annoyed me so I stopped it right there.

Now thinking it could have showed me something in my mind's eye, I don't know. I just think that it would be easier to find her if she was alive and in need.

Once while in trance I kinda received a phone call from a friend of mine. It was like a message left on an answering machine... I tried to talk while he was speaking, aiming to have a conversation, but it was like he was not hearing. He said that he would call me and wanted me to reply, then he scolded me. I thought it was just very funny.

I didn't project to him, after that I heard a girl screaming and a gush of wind, so I tried to imagine myself on a roller coaster. Instead of that I appeared on the back of a car, a couple sitting on the front, man driving, there was someone by my left side but I couldn't see well who it was, probably a child. Then the driver pointed a gun towards me, I pushed his arm and started talking to the lady, but soon after that I woke up.

One other time I astral projected and was experimenting using the astral telephone in my room, but it wouldn't complete the phone call, I just heard the tone. Gotta experiment more with that.

Welcome to Dreams! / Amazing Lucid dream or OBE??
February 05, 2004, 06:28:14
Shaman's explanation is very good. I would just like to add that the hypnagogy actually evolves and turn into a dream, as it is a sketch of the dream that is about to begin.

That sounds to me like what people here call 'astral phasing'. You focused on the scene and stepped into it. Some people also call it 'mental projection followed by astral projection', you were having a sort of remote view and willed your astral body into the landscape. I call it lucid dream because I'm getting into a supposedly imaginary scene, it seems more fantastic and dreamy than the obe, and I'm never where my body really is.
#787
Pain tell us that there's something wrong. I wouldn't force a separation if it is causing me pain. I've felt pain in the head before when trying to obe, it felt like my physical brain was glued to my astral brain and I thought I would be damaging something if I kept on pushing. Eventually I'd break free from it and separate but I'd wake up feeling very dizzy.

There's a technique I've read in a book for when your head is stuck: imagine your head inflating like a balloon. It will diminish the density of your astral head, making it impossible for the physical body to magnetize it.
#788
A brick wall with a hole in it and the sun shining through it, that sounds excellent, I'll try that sometime. They are usually stereotyped, simple forms, simple objects. I have a list here I made for myself:

*a white t-shirt hanging on a wire, wind blowing on it;

*a view of a tornado from above;

*a hallway with many doors;

*a glass jar pouring water;

*a small red pyramid spinning;

*turning the pages of an invisible book untill I can read something (this one works best for me).

Patrik, what I do is to picture one of these things while falling asleep.

Ah I see, I will do that, haven't thought about that. I've been pretty much only relying on the astral experiences and forgetting the physical signs and coincidences.

The dream was very cool, I only wrote the story in my diary. All I remember from the song was that part of the dolphins and the lion, I clearly remember the words 'león', 'lengua' and 'el cielo'. I guess it was played on A, but I'm not sure, I wouldn't know how to sing it.

Do you remember both lyrics and melody? Most of the lyrics I hear don't make sense, and it's rare I remember the tune. When I can remember enough I record a piece of it and maybe create something from it, but it's all pretty sketchy. By the way, it's a very nice poem you have there, do you have an arrangement for it yet?

Back to Priscila's case, I too hope she is alive and fine, it's all her friends and family want to hear.

I would like to relate another experience I had. I was in my astral room when I called her name a few times, the door was opened and it felt like she could really appear, but instead of her I heard my mother's voice coming from the hall. Again, the voice said she was dead, I went to the hall but found no one there. I asked who killed her, and the voice replied 'Her grandmother', I asked where is she, and the voice said it didn't know but would investigate, then I woke up.

I think I was probably influenced by Tom's experience in wich he saw an old woman. Either that or her grandmother was the one who embraced her if she died, but that would be too far fetched.

I guess it would work better if we had a schedule, for example, people would go for the experiences for one or two weeks, and then make an elaborated summary of what he/she found and a conclusion. When everyone had that done we could post the results. This way one would not be misled or influenced by another's findings. When results were to be compared it would be more trustworthy. A flaw is that the topic would quickly fall into oblivion.
But this is a hint for someone who tries this in the future, we've already started anyway.

A friend of Priscila contacted me over the internet after seeing my post on a brazilian forum. He passed the information that the situation in Priscila's house was not so good (on the matter of acquaintance), and her relationship with her mother was kinda turbulent. He also reinforces that she is a gentle person, innocent, and has been depressed.

So far I've tried: asking dream characters, astral tv, paper on the desk - but haven't gotten any consistent clue. All I feel is that she has gone through suffering but now she is fine, and that is unsettling, since she is still missing.

I feel that she is fine now because most of the times I tried to find her I found myself in some very peaceful places. In the first instance I saw that river and mountain landscape and the full moon, children laughing.

I'm not sure if the third experience had anything to do with her, but I was an observer of a story, my dreambody wasn't there, I saw some people from India or China, they were going into the ocean to swim because they didn't know what else to do. Some were sad, some were happy, some were rescued by an helicopter, some just drifted... I saw this girl who kinda resembled Priscila, she was drifting when suddenly she was saved by this oriental man. I could see what she was thinking, in pictures, she thought about her life, her sadness, she thought about marrying the man, and while her almost lifeless body was being carried in a boat to the shore she saw little oriental children fishing and smiling. It was like a paradise. There was a song playing in the background, an acoustic guitar and a female singer, she sung about the dolphins, the sky, the lion. I remember part of the song that said something like the lion yawning sticking his tongue out towards the sky, it was in spanish. I don't remeber what happened next, but I woke up wanting to hear that song again, it was extremely beautiful.

I couldn't read anything that made sense in the paper on my desk, just random words, and on the astral tv I saw a cartoon, a green 'something' that said 'She disappeared' and nothing else I could hear. Big news [xx(]
The cartoon's voice sorta faded and I had to turn up the volume to the maximum but only heard whispers.

It would be good to hear some ideas on how else to search.

Next time I'll probably call her name.

Thank you Kerrblur, I'm looking forward to hear of your findings.

Good job Tom. She has a boyfriend so she could possibly be pregnant.

I also received the information that she is dead, but it was again from a dream character so I don't know if I can rely on that. This time it was a grown-up girl, I asked her if she knew of Priscila and she said she was killed with a rope about 3 days ago (when The Bard posted it), and that she was in slums. But when I asked her the name of the slums she said 'Favela Coco' (Slums Turd) wich doesn't make sense at all. When they were leaving I asked her friend if I could really believe what was said, and she wiggled her head smiling saying no. It was a bit frustrating.

Next time I should go for the paper on the desk.

Hi The Bard, I don't know if she had disappeared before but I guess not because it would have been a too important information to be omitted by her family or the media.

I guess that if she is alive she is probably being held by someone because they have been talking alot about her disappearance, people would have seen her around.

They said she didn't use to leave the house too much cause she was a bit depressed and timid.

Sorry to hear about your baby.

Thank you for your your effort, that was very well done, I'll try to get a confirmation on that then I'll reply to you.

Hello Tom, The Bard, that's great.

The Bard, if you could find that out it would be more than good enough.

For me it's kinda hard to find places, but I can usually come across people.

I think I got something tonight, but it surely needs to be decyphered. In my dream it was night-time, I was in a mini-bus with my 2 bros and 1 sis, maybe my mother was there too, I saw a very beautiful landscape (a hill, a lake and the full moon) in between houses on the street. Then I jumped out of the bus to go there (to the other side of the street), but then somehow I got lost, I tried to come back to the bus and afar I saw them leaving. I didn't care much about it and kept on walking. There were kids playing in the streets, then I headed into a grocery store and the kids came into the store too runing and laughing. I asked a little girl if she knew where Priscila was, and she said no, and she called for her other friend, to whom I asked the same thing, she also didn't know, but her brother replied when I insisted 'She is at the entrance of a desert', I ask him what desert, and he stops for a while as if receiving a message from the beyond and says 'I don't know, but it's one I've only seen in a film'. I ask a japanese boy who is also there among the kids to connect with him and try to receive something else, but he doesn't seem to know how to do that, after awhile I awake.

Maybe someone could help me to interpret this. I've read Priscila had suffered from memory lapses in the past, maybe she got lost also.

Here is another picture of her if anyone would like to try to find her in the dreams.

Ya, there are always some things that match and some things that don't.

A nice one I can remeber right now was when I visited a friend of mine in Usa and saw him sat down writing something, and when I invited him to go fly outside I saw he had a buddy there who was black, thin, tall, and had short hair.

After returning I emailed him to tell the story and he said he was writing songs that day, and his only black friend was there with him, he is thin tall and has very short hair.

I also told him of the building I saw him in, the hallways, a gate in the street, but all these didn't match.

I posted my experience here: http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=4075&SearchTerms=a,great,experience,partly

Hey Tom, would you like to participate in the search for the missing girl? I know you're goot at finding things in the dream. I see you are involved in another experiment, it's alright if you can't do it right now.

#796
Totally agreed. After about 10 minutes of exercise the brain starts to produce endorphin, an hormone that causes a sense of well being,  relaxation and lethargy, in other words, it is some sort of trance yes. Other ways to produce that hormone are laughing, dancing, playing an instrument, swimming, singing, listening to music, bathing, etc...
#797
Hehe, that's cool, it sounds alot like an experience I had a couple of weeks ago, I posted it as 'can you name the song?', but unlike yours I was in a dream when it happened. When it happens while you're in trance it tells you're at a good level of trance and can promptly leave the body.

I believe hypnagogy and phasing are the same thing, if you work up the images and seep into them you will find yourself in another environment.

Maybe you could get part of the lyrics and search on the search engines. I only got 3 words of the song and didn't find anything that would relate. I even heard the announcer saying the time and confirmed it later.
#798
Here are some that worked for me, use one at a time while you're semi-awake:

*Hypnagogy: interact with the images, if you see a piece of paper rip it, fold it, or throw it away; if you see a tv turn it on, turn up the volume; if you see a keyboard type on it.

*Feel yourself standing up and walking away.

*Deep trance: enjoy the rushes of energy, the sounds, the floating sensations, and don't do a thing, just wait for what's coming next.

*Create the sensation of being swaying, spinning or rolling out.

*Pay attention to your legs and feel them rising and rising until you're almost upside-down, then shove yourself out with your arms.

*Hold the mattress on the edges and force yourself up and down as if exercising, push the mattress up so that you will slide to the lower side of the bed, pull the mattress down for you to get back to the initial position, this will deepen the trance. When you can move fairly well stand up and walk.

*Stare deeper into the blackness till you don't know where you are.

*Feel you are ice melting inside the physical structure. Once you're all  water you can pour out.

*Turn all your senses inwards: try to hear your thoughts, make them sound louder (think of a song and make it play), try to see them clearer (think of a book and read it), try to feel it real (turn the pages of the book), taste your thought (remember the flavour of something you haven't eaten in a long time).

*Pretend you're walking inside of a house full of hallways, stairs, doors and secret entrances. Explore the house.

#799
When you open your eyes during the paralysis (trance) it's common you have hallucinations, since you're not well attuned to the physical dimension.

A tip for the head stuck: imagine your head inflating like a ballon, when it gets large enough it will separate smoothly from the physical frame.
#800
Hello Kristina, very nice experience, congratulations!

You could ask the person whom you're having the conversation with to hold your arm, that should help you keep you steady, it works for me.
