As Hyperdimensional said, the best way to have a lucid dream is just to be... lucid []; aware of what's going on around you...

Also, why limit the lucidity to night time; be lucid during daytime too...  Many people, me included, are like "zombies", lost in their thoughts, day dreaming, absorbed by their activities, etc...  Just try to be more aware of what's going on around you during day time; and you will have a good chance to be aware during night time too...

A few tricks:

Read everything you can to saturate your brain with the subject.

Every 15-20mns during daytime, ask yourself if you are dreaming or not, and do a reality check...  Be very "serious" in your checking; don't just check for half a second.  Or, more generaly, just be more lucid during daytime.

Before falling asleep, repeat over and over and over something like "tonight I will be lucid"...

Setup an alarm clock in the middle of the night and just fall back to sleep while willing that next time you have a similar dream (that you just had), you will be lucid.

It's not because some people associated the "witch" word with old hags flying on brooms that you should change it...  What if the new word you choose is also associated in the same way...?  How many times will you change?  It's the same with the word "sorcery", that has been associated with negative occult activities...  Like people associated "TaiChi" with old people doing slow motion dance in parks...  Like people associated "French" with smelly people that never take a shower; etc...  Do you say "cliche" in english...?

I did have around 15+ experiences with... hum... things that I could sense and feel (touch) but not see.  All in the same setup: I am lying on my bed and something crawls on me or is above me.  They never tried to enter in me; only once one of them was applying some kind of pressure on my forehead.  While most of them were feeling like some kind of blob (with my astral hands), one took the appearance of a woman (or so I thought) and tried to do naughty things.  Most of the time, I did "wrestle" with those blobs.  Some are strong and others are weak; or sometimes I feel strong and other times I feel powerless.  3 times these "blobs" seemed to come from a dream; like some guy is annoying me in a dream and poof, he "transforms" in the blob and I am lying on my bed...

In fact, I just got into a dream fight 2 days ago and the guy was too strong, so I decided to wake up...  But, instead of waking up, I suddenly was lying on my bed and "wrestling" with such a blob...  But the blob was very "weak" (not very solid) and I woke up after 3 seconds...

Another time, again one guy was tinkling me off in a dream.  I switch to the lying in bed with blob wrestling thing but, as I was not fully conscious and still ticked off, I suddenly decided to absorb the blob to "teach him a lesson"...  Immediatly, the blob kind of exploded a little and then imploded back and I sucked it with my hands/arms...  As soon as I finished it, my body or bed "rocketed" throught the window at a very high speed for about 5s and then I woke up...  I just hope my stupid idea won't have much negative consequences... [:O][|)]

And, as you asked, no drugs here...

Personaly, I did have quite a few such unwanted physical effects (seems stronger than normal ones) with and without mess...  But it was most when I was a teen...

I don't think that his higher vibrations state relates to the vibrations you feel when you OBE...
