Work your lucidity, it might help. Talk with the dream characters and ask more questions, if the dream gets to a point where it's to unpleasant to experience but you still wanna stay there say the word 'haddaboojee' out loud and you'll blow them all away.

Keep in mind you create all your dreams, both out of your conscious and subconsciousness. Play around with those dream imagery in a creative way, make up situations that you think would be fun trying out.

For instance, once while falling asleep I remembered an email I had received that day... about some fisherman that was eaten by an anaconda, creepy stuff but I had that in mind, and thought what if I was face to face with an anaconda, what would I do? While playing around with these thoughts the imagery began to set up and I found myself swimming by a waterfall, and then I released the anaconda to attack me. It followed me down the river and began swirling around my chest... I grabbed it and sort of threw it away, and involved myself into some other stuff.

Welcome to Dreams! / Seeing myself in a Mirror

One thing you can try is to go through the mirror.

Hello!

That thing you saw was a hypnopompic hallucination (alucinação hipnopômpica). They happen during the trance state, transition from the sleep to the waking state. They are common and harmless.

Here you can read some more on the matter, it's in portuguese: http://www.geocities.com/athens/atrium/2995/alucinacoes.htm

Next time you're having a similar experience know you're not fully awake, you can close your eyes and concentrate on these images until you consciously find yourself in the dream environment.

Best wishes.

Maybe it's because we're being watched all the time indeed, but when we're there it is more notable.

I mostly read words I can't decipher. I've already found the meaning of 'Predoque'(latin) and 'Babaevi'(turkish), but I'm still searching for the meaning of 'baldara', wich I saw written on the wall just as I awoke, and 'nossosis', written on a yellow box that was in my astral room.

I've also heard interesting songs that at the time I thought really existed.

One of them was a grunge rock that went like: inspiration sets you free... blame it for yourself...

Note it said 'for yourself' instead of 'on yourself'.

One another was a cacthy song 80's style I think, it went: You gotta keep the earth on habit.. You gotta keep the earth on habit..

And repeated that chorus a few times.

Eventually I dream in English lol.

Wow Eonn, these are excellent hints, thank you for sharing them with us! I have asked my projections to last longer once in awhile and it actually works, but I don't do that all the time cause it feels like I'm always begging ehehe. Anyways I'm glad you said it and it's good to know the commands are effective for you too, really appreciate it.

Did you recently lose someone in your family or a close friend?

I've had a similar experience sometime after I lost my father. I projected and looked in the mirror to see a hand on my right shoulder. It didn't look like his hand so I thought somehow it could be mine, but I didn't give much attention to it at the time cause I thought it would spoil the experience.

I think I did it right, are they visible now?

So OBEs are closer to ordinary dreams than to lucid dreams? I think there's something wrong with that statement since they say consciousness of ego can only act till the brain reaches theta waves and not beyond that, delta.

It means that when you're lucid dreaming you're actually having a lighter sleep than when you're having unconscious dreams?

I guess it would make sense to say that all dreams happen at delta mainly and when you're lucid theta is also playing a big role in the mix of frequencies, and as theta starts fading you begin losing consciousness. That could explain why it can be hard to maintain lucidity for a long period, you either awake or gradually lose it. It would also make sense to say that not everyone experience a 'pure delta state' in wich no other waves can be detected, and somehow there can be a consciousness at that state (OBE).

It suggests consciousness doesn't depend on brainwaves, or, if it does, it would be on delta (since without delta there could be no theta, alpha or beta), and if so then comes the question: why does consciousness fade at all?

Correct me if I'm wrong, please, I'm trying to sort it out to understand it better.

Just correcting an information, I made a new research and found the word 'largitor' means benefactor, therefore Predoque must mean brigand, but if anyone knows the accurate meaning please do tell me. I'm thinking it could be the name of someone who lived in the Middle Ages (maybe it was me and I had a bad reputation??).

Damn I was so excited about this word, too bad I can't remember the whole name, it had 3 names on the street signpost and Predoque was the first one, I couldn't read the other 2.

It is very commom to awake just after you realize you are dreaming, but there are ways to keep that from happening, here's a great link with plenty of information on the subject: www.lucidity.com

Hey sweet celestial sounds, forgive me I never noticed you were also asking me about the technique. What I do is to fall asleep thinking about something, maybe some music, a sequence of images (like a cartoon animation), something that involves me in a creative mental activity in such a way that I diminish my attention to the outside world. After awhile doing this I feel in trance, and then I apply some technique for separation inducing the feeling of motion, usually the spin, or I just try to feel myself floating away from my body.

For lucid dreaming I just keep going with the imagery and then step into the scene by interacting with them.

Hello Kodemaster, I wonder if you still have problems going out through the window.

Yesterday it happened to me again but today it didn't, and I noticed it was because I fully opened the window this time. I took the time to open it completely so that I could have a good view, and then I went out through it without any problems. Perhaps it has something to do with doing things incompletely. It seems that if you don't conclude something you started it's like you never did it at all. The halfway feels unstable and stuff. Just a thought.

Welcome to Dreams! / My narcoleptic friend

Your friend should seek professional help, that can be dangerous. They usually fall asleep while doing repetitive tasks.

Hello obegirl956, I used to have that same 'problem' too. I thought I was being tormented by spirits cause I would lay down to sleep and start to hear voices, screams, I could see faces flying and people next to my bed during my episodes of sleep paralysis. Since I had no idea what it was all about I would get scared.

This thing/person that you saw was an hallucination, very commom during the hypnagogic state (trance). They are harmless, they are nothing but the sketch of the dream that is about to begin, and indicate you are just starting to tune into the astral dimension. They may happen both when you are waking up and falling asleep.

What you can do is to close your eyes and allow yourself to drift to the dreamworld focused on your intent, and you'll soon find yourself within a lucid dream.

If you're not willing to have anything simply move a finger before opening your eyes, that will help you adjust back to this reality and avoid hallucinations.

Best regards.

Welcome to Dreams! / Some Questions...
July 16, 2003, 06:37:56
Hey, welcome to the forums!

All of these questions only you can answer, but I can tell you about my perspective.

1. Lucid dreaming is not only about dream control. To be aware that you are dreaming while it is happening gives you the opportunity to explore a world of possibilities, and to have a direct communication with your subconscious mind. It may help you overcome fears by learning how to deal with the situations that the dream presents you, and that would probably help you in your daily life.

What lucidity really gives you is control of your own thoughts and actions, and doesn't let you be subjugated by the images.

2. Your mind is there, your body is asleep.

3. Does that make any difference?

4. It may be that the place exists, but it's best to be cautious and always question what you see.

Cool, so I'm not the only one who can't read the digital clock. [:)]
This has bugged me for a while.

I've read about the light and the mirror experiment, I find I can turn the lights on and off pretty well and go through mirrors. To change the sky, night into day, is an amazing thing to do, but I don't do that so often. As a child when I couldn't turn on the light I knew I was in a nightmare, it was even desperating.

One thing I find rather impossible to do is to come out of water flying. Anyone can do it?

Ah, heard about waking life before but haven't seen it yet.

I have passed into the tv, I think I was in trance and I could see images of my room of the other house I lived. I entered it to see if I could get there, it worked. The tv was turned off at the time, and I was seeing structures like shadows, not like any light was coming out of it.

I have also passed into paintings but it didn't work so well, I couldn't really interact with things around me, it was a very reduced environment.

The same with the computer monitor, I found myself floating in front of it, I wasn't inside, but the image was very large this time, it was like being in front of a movie screen. I was staring at a fractal I got for desktop wallpaper. It was pretty cool.

One can use the tv to pick up places to go, visualize the place and get into it.

Here you can find some images of fractals: http://www.vastral.kit.net/imagens.html

I was floating on the fractal # 5. No, I don't know who that guy is lol.
