I think Gorillas in the mist is a movie about a woman that lived among gorillas. I have never seen it though.

No offense but this is only relevant if one is a Christian. To some this is meaningless. If you are a Christian and it makes you feel better to ask, then by all means go for it.

You have atleast a shred of intelligence, use it. Do not be totally accepting at first. Like all relationships, let it develop, let trust build. Unless the entity has less than honorable intentions it should be understanding of this.

Last week when I heard Sylvia Brown on Coast to Coast AM she said all you need to do in order to contact your guide is just close your eyes, envision a nice, calm, soothing, relaxing place, and then ask your guide to come out of the shadows, and that they will. Then you can talk to them.

I have read about similar exercises. Though I would suggest not expecting something as dramatic and an entity suddenly appearing, pulling up a chair, and start chatting. I am not saying it would not happen like that, but from experience it is usually more subtle.

As jilola said:

All religions are man's attempt to put existence into words, which is impossible.

I will say that the divine/spiritual/etc can be experienced, but verbal communication is not able to remotely describe it.

But if you have never been exposed to other religions then reading up on them can give you some new ideas.

If you look beyond the literal with more understanding of the spiritual, then Christianity does hold some truth and wisdom.

I see religions as stepping stones into the spiritual that goes beyond words. They are to be questioned so you can learn and attain better understanding, not be to followed blindly. When you reach the point that you start to question your religion and beliefs, then you are ready to start on a true spiritual journey. Each person's path is unique to them so no one can tell you what you should be doing.

It seems like I have heard about this. Are Skinwalkers suppose to be shapeshifters that go around killing people? If I am not mistaken the Navajo are one of the few Native American tribes that view shapeshifting as a negative thing.

The books contain a lot more information about Hobbits than the movies, so you might enjoy reading them if you want to learn more about their culture and society. I have no knowledge about nepalies, so I cannot say about any similarities.

Just to say that I said "while keeping your current mind/spirit/knowledge/beliefs/...". So the lessons you learned are not forgotten...

But my point was, having redone the events and "correcting" the mistake, then the new memories may overpower the previous memories and might cause us to forget the lessons. But who knows, this hypothetical time travel stuff can give one a headache. Even if they would never be forgotten no matter what happens I still would not do it, but that is just me.

I am not saying that my life is perfect. There are things that I would do differently if I could. But when weighed with starting all over, I would just perfer to keep on with my life. I can definately understand such a desire for health reasons, but the physical body is such a temporary thing to begin with. Just look forward to the time when you can leave it and explore the other realms without the physical body and brain holding you back.

Clearly we are from different generations. [;)] I see women in higher postions all the time. I see women doing jobs that have nothing to do with what you pointed out. Where I work, we have many female managers and many working along side the males. And I see more and more females taking those jobs. At one time I think your point was valid, and in some places it may well still be, but from what I have seen it really no longer is. Women are no longer held back just because they are women.

All of those "mistakes" we made were good lessons for us to learn from. Who can say what problems might arise if we were to go back and redo them, this time not making the mistakes. By not having them, then maybe they would fade from our memory and the lessons we learned from them as well. Then we may be forced to learn those lessons over, and who knows what kind of consequences they might have this time around. Learn to see them not as mistakes but as lessons to learn from.

Did you try to see if you also see that aura around object. If it is the effect I think about, you see it also around things. For that you need to take something that has the same color than your hand (approximately bright say) and put it exactly in the same light environment as your hand was, and you will see like a tiny border to it, like for your hand, it is an optical effect.

Begrijp jij?

Practicing seeing auras is not something I do much of any more, mostly when I am waiting and cannot do much of anything else. If ever should get the opportunity to do this test I will. Which optical effect are you referring to, the haze, the greenish outline, the flaring color, or all of them?

No matter how legit an email might be, it is always safest to go to the homepage and enter through there than to enter through links, just incase it is a scam. Good to get into this habit.

I have a beautiful boxed set of Tolkein's writings from England (I'm an insane book collector; I even have a 1st ed. Gone With the Wind!). Anyway, I am sorry I saw the movie first, because it all looked like just a lot of fighting.  And fighting bores me (isn't all fighting the same battle anyway?).  So, I've always found something else to read (like the 12 books on the floor by my bed).  Someday, someday, I'll real Tolkein and blip over the battles.

Actually fighting and battles are not that common in the books. They contain a lot more story than the movies. Read the Hobbit. I think there is only like one battle in it, but the group is getting into some sticky situations throughout.

That is a lot of rings! [:O]

Fallenangel, about the battles, i disagree with you. They are really nice in the movie but the book it´s very good too. You just need to concentrate and imagine all the battle happening in your mind.

You may be right, but personally I just don't find reading about the epic battles that interesting. Just me. I do enjoy the smaller fights like in Moria and I really enjoyed the Ents battle. But for me I am just not that fond of reading it when it comes to large groups fighting large groups. I guess I like reading about the individuals more. But I will try to be more imaginitive next time. [;)]

quote:
The Balrog in the book, as i imagined him, it was much more scary and terrible (and not in a "cartoon" style). Even the Moria Mynes were better and scariest in the book. Indeed i think almost everything was best in the book. The only exception to this it was the lothlorien houses, they were very nice in the movie (but other aspects in the book were nice). And about the elven queen, i think that in the movie she was very beautiful. And i mean beatiful in an angelical way, not beautiful with a "pretty" mean, like a very atractive woman as Monica Belluci for example. She (the queen) was divinal, altought she had more a celtic look than an elfic one.

One thing I kind of dislike is that I saw the movie first. When reading the books places, people, and things can look about anyway you want them too. But after having seen the movie, it influences how I see things while reading the books. That is the magic of books, having everything come alive in your mind. Seeing the movie first kind of takes away from that magic for me.

Right after I saw the first movie I went out and bought the whole set, Hobbit included. I personally like the Hobbit the best and I do suggest reading it to find out more about Bilbo and the Dwarves. The books are definately better and have a much more indepth story. Aragon and Arwen's (not sure how to spell their name's right now) story is not presented in the story like it is in the movie. You have to read the part after the Ring story in Return of the King to get all of it, as well as information on the Elves and much more. I was disappointed by the ending of the Two Towers because it did not end like the book does, but they say that it will be in Return of the King so that is cool.

The movies are better when it comes to the battles. I find reading about battles boring, but they are exciting to watch.

I am just curious how they are going to end Return of the King.

I really do not see a difference between the sexes. And I think powerful is a relitive term.

Feminine energy is usually associated with mystical, spiritual, psychic energies while masculine is more grounded. Since we all have both energies within us, it is only a matter of accessing them, then the physical sex is not important.

quote:
Namaste,
i couldnt resist! (pun #1). the "juice" is the key!!(pun #2). imho, in order for men to come(pun #3)close(pun #3cont.) to women in their(womens) ability to cultivate and manifest magickal energy, there absolutely (as much as there can be such a thing) has to be a conservation of "juice", or semen. taoist yoga is essential for this. for a women, sex is her birthright/magickal power and there is literally no end(pun #4) to her ability to perform(pun #4 cont.). for a male with no cultivation of original essence and the ability to hold and transmute sexual fluid(semen); there is no hope....its kinda funny cause you could look at the demonization of women as temptress because the male just couldnt resist!(see pun #1!) namaste

I am not so sure that the semen has to contain the energy. I think that the man can retain the energy and still expel the semen. But retaining the semen can be beneficial and probably necessary to one that cannot retain the energy otherwise.

Not really, I just wished to reaffirm it.

Yes, I agree both sexes will look for emotional intimacy through physical intimacy - please note that I was talking about boys and girls, not men and women.

Ah, then it that case yes it probably is more accurate.

quote:

And there's still the plain old animal lust to procreate to be considered.
We can analyze this to death (which I sometimes have a tendency to do, in case ye hadn't noticed [;)]), but we are still animals with built-in urges to continue the species, thus sex with another person is a built-in desire.

You have a point, which both probably need to be taken together instead of separate since that is how we exist. Physically we have the desire to procreate while at the same time we wish to connect with another human and be loved.

Teen years are such a confusing and frustrating time. I would not want to do it again. You teens have my sympathy.

Another is something you're probably not aware of, still pertinent to this society as I see it and goes back to a saying from my teen years, "girls **** for love, and boys love to ****. Crude, yes, and please remember that it's just a truism that relates to just enough of the population to make it valid, but not everyone.

Stereotype but you may be right that it appears on the surface enough to seem valid, but it is not an overwhelming majority.

quote:

What it means is, girls more often than not relate sex with emotional attachment - love - and will have sex in order to extend their emotional intimacy into the physical realm, and the belief that their feelings will be returned during the act. They have sex in order to prove their love, and to prove they are loved.

But I think that ultimately both men and women do this, have sex for love, companionship, and to feel loved and accepted whether they know it consciously or not. The difference is that women tend to be more in touch with their emotions whereas men tend to ignore them until they are forced to deal with them, which I think is more a product of society than genes. If it were only about pleasure, well one can pleasure oneself, why the need for another person?

But then you have to wonder, why do they have to wait if they are free from their physical bodies? And why wait in a cave?

I have read about this as well, but I do not remember the actual scientific facts. Also it kind of depends on which side you get your information. The scientific and the Tantric/Taoist views are a bit different, but both agree that using the prostate helps. Doing a search on the net might get you some information.

I think it falls into the use or loose it category. Most if not all body parts seem to.
