Quote from: Astral_RavenThanx guys,

I guess can you AP from meditation? I try to AP in an armchair. I balance my chakras and then when I hit my crown chakra i get spinning sensations and it feels nice and i think i start to lucid. Can i use a technique at that spinning sensation to project? If someone can help me that would be great. There is so much you can do from AP and i want to learn that.

Thank You

-Astral Raven

I'd say AP can be a 'side-effect' from meditation, but if you attempt to project from meditation you are no longer meditating.
I remember a scientific book based upon a clinical form of meditation I read years ago, in one of the chapters they actually talked about OBEs as occuring during meditation occasonaly.

Quote from: AstralBornWe dont seem to be getting any notable results with the lights,
Allthough they did make Sarah start seeing things.

Are you using the lights and a BB set to the same frequency?
#903
A lot of people, who meditate properly, AP from that state.
In my own experience, if you meditate, it increases the frequency of OBEs/LDs during other times (such as when going to sleep/waking).

Welcome to Spiritual Evolution! / Indigo children

Well according to the people who channeled the info regarding the indigo phenomena, 95+% of all people born in the last 10 years, and something like 85+% in the last 15-20+ years are indigo. So the vast majority of people you meet at your age are indigo too.

They find it interesting. I've had many long conversations with my Dad regarding my experiences. These kind of conversations usually  arrise when we're talking about careers ;) and i'm explaining why my world view isn't so money or material orientated.
#906
I've always been a skeptic regarding psi wheels, as all videos i've seen leave the possibility of warm hands creating air currents (as you stated above).
But the video you made is certainly interesting as it seems to remove that possibility:)
#907
It depends if they remember speaking to them or not :) My experience of speaking to other people in the RTZ is that it's a form of communicating with their subconsious minds.

Quote from: EldarionWhen you all talk about it it seems so darn easy, i try to clear my mind, concentrate on my breathing, i do that almost every day, it doesnt help :(

When I first started out, one of the most useful tools I found was self-hypnosis. After a bit of experimentation, this allowed me to enter varying degrees of trance.

Quote from: mactombs[I have that book - in my opinion, it's terrible. I've also heard metal holds you back. Eating meat holds you back. Eating peanuts holds you back. Wet weather and lightning storms. All of it tripe. Nothing holds you back but disbelief (and not always even then) and lack of relaxation/mental clarity.

Apparently eating metal holds you back too.  Growing peanuts is detrimental.  Sunshine affects you.  Tripe can hold you back as well, if you eat it in large quantities.  Books are dreadful for your progression.  Especially if eaten backwards with your feet facing north-westerly.

Blue tents - don't even go there.

And as for clouds.  Cor blimey - if it's a cloudy day/night, I wouldn't even bother going to sleep.

PS  Sorry to all those gullible people - I was just in the mood for it.

I've read papers which claim there can be some electrical activity in the deep brain for quite some time after death (Weeks). But I've not been able to find any more information on this.
#911
Hmm this was actually one of my dreams last night... First wing like structures, and then flippers connected to a dolphins head (my body was still human).

Quote from: NickJWAP proper? Is there a difference between lucid dream scapes, AP proper. Or is Ap Proper Focus 3?

by AP proper I meant the astral planes, rather than the rtz. I guess in Franks system this would be F3? My experience of LDs is that they are F2 in franks scheme? That is, they are personal constructs.

DMT is a hell of lot more potent than LSD - infact, its one if the most powerful psychedelics know to man. Even more interesting is the experiences of people who have taken it recreationally. Their trips match near perfectly alien abduction scenarios, OBEs and experiences on the AP proper, and full blown mystical experiences.  The energy sensations they describe seem to match perfectly the classic 'vibrations' too.

Welcome to Magic! / Alchemy
November 29, 2005, 14:13:18
Alchemy seems to be a form of "psychology" based upon symbolism. It's a means of self transformation through the use of this symbolism and the abstract meanings behind it. This is an overly basic description, but I think it gets to the heart of it :)

Ps: I use the word psychology as it is a system of mapping self and it's states.

Quote from: shufflelotyah, I hadn't moved very far, I fear when I do it starts to turn into a dreamlike experience(more astral?), but when I am close right after seperation I am very grounded in my surroundings.
I'll try the command,thanks

I find that sometimes, for a while, things can seem dream like - it's almost like i'm imagining the movements rather than experiencing them. If this happens, just keep with the experience regardless - things usually become a lot more solid and 'real'.

Quote from: lo_ri_derThank you Jingo, this now makes a lot more sense. I have heard of HPPD before, and I thought that maybe this is what it was. I have taken mushrooms twice, but the thing is I really cannot remeber if these hallucinations happened before those experiences or not. It actually does not bother me at all, in fact I think it is kind ofinteresting, and unique. But also, it seems to occur much more, and much stronger the days after I have been meditating (using brainwave mp3s). I guess it is because I am more relaxed.

Oh and also about feeling disconnected from reality, I have definitely experienced this. It is not fun. I feel extremely depressed, which is what I think helps trigger it. Actually it also happens whenever I use this certain brainwave technique called "third eye meditation" I downloaded off the internet. The combination of both was just much too much for me to handle. I stopped using that mp3, it somehow always makes me feel bad.

Anyway

Thanks a lot for your advice. It is very much appreciated.

There are certain triggers which make this more pronounced. For me some are taking certain drugs, being tired, or suffering from sleep deprivation, meditation (or just experiencing other states of awareness - i.e. gained through binaural beat technology, meditation, trance work etc). Mood can also effect how much I notice it too.
It is there all the time, but unless I specifically look for it, I don't seem to notice it as much as I used to.

During a psychedelic experience we notice a lot of peculiar perceptions - and a lot of these are just exaggerated natural phenomenon that we usually take no notice of. But because we have been exposed to them, it is easier to notice these things when baseline. I know a lot of HPPD suffers don't agree with this, they are looking for signs of physical damage (which to my knowledge none has been found to date, even using the most detailed of brain scans). I know some brain activity scans have shown strange readings, but this is suggestive of nothing really (due to the nature of these scans and how frequently brain activity can change).
I think people just don't realise what power the mind can have on the functioning of bodily organs or our interpretation of perception.

This is an artefact of being aware of either visual processing or internal processing. A lot of information is usually filtered by the brain (We perceive the filtered version). Through act of will, it's possible to force yourself to take notice of what is normally bypassed. Whether this is desirable is up to the individual, as the more you focus on these things, the more it reinforces you want to notice them - and the greater the effects seem. Such as the movement – our eyes actually move in minute amounts when we think they are looking straight at an object, eyes themselves see in a very 'tunnel vision' way, but through this minute movement, we seem to se a greater area then we would otherwise. Through perception of this slight movement, it can make it look like objects are moving (sliding across the floor, growing, shrinking, distorting). This can be seen when we get really drunk and the floor judders as these small movements seem to become staggered as we lose motor control.

For example, a small percentage of psychedelic users notice a permanent after effect, such as seeing trails and walls moving. This condition has been classified as HPPD (I have this). It's also been recorded in people who have taken certain forms of medication.

If you no longer wish to see these things, ignore it as best as you can. Each time you see it, don't pay attention to it. Over time (it will take a while – years) the movement will get less and less as you reinforce the filters of not wanting to perceive this. Eventually you will hardly notice it at all – although because you have knowledge of this condition you might notice it occasionally.
For what it's worth, I wouldnt focus on these movements as they can get so pronounced that you start to feel disassociated from reality (like you are viewing life from a distance). I experienced this for a few years, and I would definitely not recommend it. Everything moved around 24/7, and with this I experienced everything leaving imediate imprints on my vision, trials off all objects (including the floors trailing into walls or my arms leaving trails, or lights trailing,  and the trail imprint on my vision such as when one stares at a bulb for a while, this would happen after just glansing at a light source) and I saw sparkly lights everywhere, and trails which left transparent colours on my vision. Being too aware of some processes can be a serious hinderance :)

The bird trick is something to do with lightly drugging a bird so it is knocked out for a few minutes, I guess warmth from the hands helps revive it.

He revives a fly too, which involve swatting a fly just hard enough to stun it, then puts it somwhere - picks it up looking dead. Blows on it to help bring it back to it's senses and lets it fly off.

How far have you moved away from your 'body'? I find if i'm within around 6-8 foot of my body I have no vision, it comes after I move a certain distance away.
Other options are commanding that you can see, shout something like "vision now" etc. it works sometimes if said with conviction.

Let us know how you get on :) Brainwave entrainment using light is much more effective than using sound alone :) Just be careful, some people are sensitive to seizures when looking at strobing lights.

Quote from: MisterJingoI would say look into technologies other than binaural beats. Organisations (such as the Monroe Institute) have spent ludicrous amounts of money and large amounts of time (30 years+) researching this area with some of the best technology and facilities money can buy.
So if you travel this route you will more likely than not be treading familiar ground.
Or an addition to binaural beat is the use of light pulses (ala sound and light machines), such a device can be set up to interface with a PC via the parallel port and would need someone with detailed knowledge of electrical engineering, and a programmer to get it to work. It works by keeping the same frequency differential (beat) but transmitting it through the optical nerves – such devices can have a greater effect than audio technology alone – but you run a risk due to some people being susceptible to fits from light stimulation.

MisterJingo, Do you know where I could get information on the use of light?

Well here's a few examples of comercial machines:

http://www.audiostrobe.com/

Here's a schematic to build your own:

There are other schematics out there, but I can't find them at the moment, i'll keep looking though.

Welcome to Dreams! / I only get lucid in nightmares
November 26, 2005, 07:06:23
Quote from: SykeWell I believe that the reason it is easier to have a lucid dream from a nightmare is purely because to have a lucid dream you have to question reality to find it isn't real. So when we are scared out of our minds we make ourselves believe it isn't real.

Thats very perceptive :)

Quote
I personally draw a symbol on the back of my left hand in black marker. It really stands out. So every time it catches my eye it reminds me why it's there and I then check reality.

-Syke

My usual reality checking (when I do it) uses doorways. Everytime I pass through one, I consiously trail my fingers across across the door frame and use my watch or something else to reality check.

Quote from: MFInsaneAs MJ stated;
It is very important to know what is true and what is not. That is so very important in ap/obe. It is very easy to become mislead by your thoughts.

My point is that ap shows us we have a spirit/soul. We can leave our bodies at night and do what ever. That is a spiritual experience to me.

The bottom line is that depending on your individual belief system your ap's will vary. Your mind influences them. So, if you believe in God, you will have Godly experiences, and ect... for what ever belief you have.

Oh, don't mistake what I meant. The act of projecting in and of itself is very spiritual (to me at least) - and it does potentially allow one to interact with manifestations of concepts which without projection would just be mental abstractions or beliefs. But unless one makes an effort to explore, learn, and grow through the use of this state - it does not inherently allow for spiritual growth.

Scariest things:

Whilst getting out of body have beings come up behind my head and scream (a god awful sound) in my ear.

Once while in the astral I was exploring a ruin and saw a black cat, so I went and picked it up to stroke. It started nuzzling my neck and then bit it and stuck there. My vision started fading and this cat started to grow as it seemed to suck out energy, turning into a increasingly large black 'blob' at my side. It was there for a few weeks until I learnt how to get rid of it (this is my only bad experience with a neg).

One strange experience which I really have no explanation for is:

Around 1998 when I was in trance attempting to OBE I decided to ask for help. I sent out the intention that I wanted help to achieve my goal of OBE. Nothing happened during that session, so I got up, put the TV on and wrote up the experience in my journal.
In the distance I started to hear something which sounded like a plane coming closer, the rumbling continued to increase until it seemed quite close. The noise seemed to be a deep vibration, I could feel the hair on my arms and legs vibrating due to it, and the roaring sound it made seemed more to be a vibration of the eardrum than the air transferring the sound into my head.
This noise kept increasing until I had a deep vibration throughout my body and the sound was amazingly deep and loud (seemingly just on the edge of hearing). I could feel it in every fibre of me, and see its effects on my body, including the hairs being moved by it. The source of it seemed to be directly above the house. I ran to the window to see if I could see anything, but really started to panic, thinking of the stories regarding alien abductions etc. The sound must have had a psychical source as it was affecting the physical.
I couldn't see anything above the house (due to the angle of my view from the window), the sound stayed for around 2-3 minutes, and then started to move away into the distance again.

To this day I have no idea what this was, I was fully lucid at the time, and could see the 'vibration' affecting physical objects.
