On possibly my only OBE experience I have also been launched at tremendous speed into the sky, this happened right after realizing my lucid state. 10 seconds after realizing, I awoke and was feeling adrenaline effects.
My theory is, when you are unfamiliar with OBE's and you suddenly have one... there's a lot of chance that there's going to be fear of the unknown, and a little fear is enough to release adrenaline in the brain... resulting the person to become conscious.
