Ok cool, thanks for the reply... next time Ill try and project whilst on my side. Hopefully next time Ill be able to project!

While I was trying to project last night, in the earlier stages i could see an image in front of my eyes but it seemed to be flashing.... it gave me the feeling that my eyes were opening and shutting just the smallest bit. It took me a fair while to get past this, but in the past i originally just thought it was my eyes doing this... Has anyone else had this happen to them? The only way that i reassured myself lastnight that it wasnt my eyes opening was that my room was pitch black and the image (which turned out to be my room looking from my bed) had light to it. Does this sound like I was nearly projecting? ie. my astral body poking its head out and having a little look around maybe?

EDIT: Also another thing I was thinking about, - If your mind is at its say "purest" form while in the astral plane.... would writing (thinking) lyrics in the astral be alot easier/productive or even possible? Would you be able to remember these lyrics when you are pulled back to the physical?

I once also had this feeling a few months ago.... i was staring at the stars, one time we stopped in the middle of nowhere (outback qld, australia) on the way to townsville... and as I was looking at the stars its like I had a strong realisation about how small I was in the grand scale of things, and I felt like I was in really wide open spaces and sorta looking at the earth from orbit. It was a really strange yet enlightening feeling...

Ok thanks for that reassurance runlola.... because i was quite worried last night while i was doing this. How should I go about actually projecting while im in this visual state? (ie the flickering image, that turned out to be my room)

I had this same sort of problem last night, i was fully relaxed and started to see flashing images (im pretty sure the image was of my room, but not dark as it was at the time, my room seemed to be lit up, or maybe just how i visualise my room)... and as I tried to focus on these images they started getting fairly clear and I could feel myself sort of being pulled from above, after a while my heart started beating really fast and really hard, so much that I stopped what I was doing to feel my chest and sure enough it was... can this sort of thing cause a heartattack? Can somebody please help as this is blocking me from doing something i really want to do.  Thanks in advance...

EDIT: Also just before I stopped myself I tried to slow down my heartbeat by breathing really slowly and deeply but to no avail. After I stopped myself it felt as though I was drained somehow and my head felt quite hot. I also felt quite strange after this... cant really explain the feeling but yeah...
