Forgive yourself for loving
the children of salt
who left their brine on you
so you dream always of waterfalls.
Take the base betrayals
stamped with deceit
throw them to the forgiving air
and invoke transmutation.
In time they will fall
as rains of redemption.
Forgive yourself for loving

Forgive yourself then
forgive yourself now
and know that you cannot change
someone
if only they would let you
love them.
All changing
is light from within
all you can be is witness,
and love yourself now
enough to know
that you are lit
and that light will draw
more light to itself
and that will be light
enough for a start
to new life and a self
forgiven heart
and being new
just be

Welcome to Writers Corner! / Circle of Return

Yes, the opening line is from the taoteching.
It's from  my book 'the word of love' which I linked below in my signature.
The book compares poetically the tao and the life of Jesus with emphasis on the principles of selflessness, service and unconditional love.

"The Way is hidden and without name,

yet alone supports all things

bringing them to fulfillment."

When I come to a child,

hurting afraid unknowing,

the child becomes a man,

deep, strong, and wise.

When I come to a man,

jaded and stained,

the man becomes a child,

innocent and pure.

In me there is a reversal,

a circle of return,

that each thing may become whole

complete in itself,

each person a universe.

She walks.
She asks me a question.
I have no words to answer.
time stands still.

You do what works for you.
Everybody has their own way of progressing, at a rate that works best for them.

Imagination is the best tool.
I like to visualize different places I lived and mentally walk through the rooms, around the houses, down the streets, in places I worked, places I would play, in the halls where I went to school, places where I hung out, places where I prayed and worshiped.

Reading books that involve use of your imagination by making you visualize scenes the writer is describing is helpful immediately before going to sleep.

And, breathing exercises pump oxygen into the brain for more lucid experiences also.

Usually when I, and most others, say they are going out of body or refocusing the mind, I intend to go flying some place. It may just be a matter of semantics, but I've got a question.

Has anybody intended to go within themselves?

I've come across an exercise where you would go within your self, confronting your sorrow until you hit rock bottom, and then go deeper, underground, until you entered a hidden reservoir, lying down beside the still waters.

Has anyone ever done this?
What was the experience like?

I had another visualization technique to achieve union with God. It involves centering yourself with God until you see that you are connected to everything. I wrote a poem based on this exercise:

To be unshakable,
Befriend God.

To do this,
quiet your thinking.
Stop analyzing, dividing,
making distinctions between
this and that
I and thou.

Simply see
you are at the center
with God.

When you perceive
that an act done to another
is done to yourself,
you have understood
The Truth.

Welcome to Writers Corner! / Unseen

"Unseen, inaudible, beyond our grasp."
Is the love of God so elusive ?
Rising with the sun light,
  sets into darkness,
  issues forth a stream
  of living beings incomprehensible
as the source to which they return.
That is why they don't believe God is real.
"Does life have no meaning ?"
"Is all this a cruel joke? A game of chance ?"
"Is there nothing out there ?"
"Is there really no sustaining life beyond ourselves ?"
Those who become aware of
the Pure Unconditional Love of God
in everyday life know the truth
  in every breath and step.
Love flows inside and outside of time.

Welcome to Members Introductions! / New from ABQ
April 15, 2006, 00:06:36
Hi,
I am Michael of Albuquerque, NM (ABQ)
I recently found this site after reading a review on Amazon.
I have had a wide variety of spiritual experiences throughout my life, and look forward to comparing notes with you.
In my signature I put a link to my book which I recently got published. It contains an interesting take on the origin and life of Christ, comparing his life and teachings to ideas in the taoteching.
Anyway, glad to meet you
