Welcome to Astral Consciousness! / Re: Advice needed
February 29, 2008, 11:31:53
First of all, let me say I am impressed with your dedication and study.  Very well done!

I expect it won't be long till you experience some excellent rewards for your hard work and dedication.

Now let me rattle off some things that may hit or miss for you... just some things I have learned, and experienced myself over the years in my learning how to get out.

1.  Hemi-sync worked for me too.

2.  Theta wave entrainment - worked yesterday.  Simple drum beats at about 4 hz. It's on Youtube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YL_kMTbS2xk) or search "theta wave", if you'd like to try it.

3.  There's relaxation of the body, and there's relaxation of the mind. (something to keep in mind... relaxing both is key)

4.  The whole point as you are probably aware is that "mind awake, body asleep" is one of the objectives.

5.  In my own experience with getting the "mind awake and body asleep", after a few oobes that were induced this way (by getting relaxed and bringing on the vibs, then rolling out, etc.  ... after a few oobe induced that way, that approach stopped working for me.

6.  The approach that started working better was to simply go to sleep and wake up later in an oobe or in a dream state from which I could then shift to "out of body".

7.  This 'go to sleep and wake later out of body' approach mentioned above let's you concentrate or other aspects of the whole 'getting out' thing.  It's no longer an issue of being able to get relaxed enough to get the vibs going, and from there do the 'roll out' or 'rope thing' and what have you.

8.  In the above approach you can practice developing other things because you are going to go ahead and let yourself fall completely asleep.  So now the trick or emphasis would be on waking back up...without waking the body up.

9.  Without going in to details about how to do each thing at this time, here's a short list of some of the other things one can develop that facilitates 'getting out' or phasing.

a. The vibration of your astral body must be out of phase with the physical - meditating on the chakras, especially the heart chakra and on love (among many other things) can help make this happen.

b.  Increasing consciousness, awareness, focus and attention.  Doing little drills during the day that increase these qualities or attributes in you, will be more available for you in your dream state as well.  And from the dream state, you'll sometimes find it easier to snap more awake and realize you are fully awake, aware and conscious, yet not in the physical world.

c.  Sleep cycles:  There are certain times during the sleep cycle that one is more apt to have an oobe.   It's possible to have a great oobe but then forget you had it because you fell back into normal sleep right after.  Just the way we all have dreams and forget them, with no clue that we even had them.  With that said, practicing dream recall, and practicing waking up at certain times during the normal sleep cycle may help you remember an oobe you are having (that normally you would not remember).  The idea being to wake up during or right after the oobe, this way you are more likely to remember all or at least the last part of it.

d.  Subconscious fears:  Especially with the buzzing and the sounds and sights one can hear after the vibrations stop... these can be frightening and it sometimes happens that the student without realizing it, is shying away from getting back into that intensely aware "almost out" state again.  Subconsciously.  Consciously we are still working hard at it, subconsciously we might be sabotaging our efforts.

e.  Keeping dream journals are helpful because they help you remember your nocturnal adventures, and other things that happen when the body is asleep.  And memory practice of any kind will help.

f.  Law of Attraction stuff - The more you focus on the higher planes, with passion, strong emotion and or intention the more likely you are to attract an experience.  (keep in mind that fear and doubt will slow down the attraction process - so if there's any of that, release it, and practice feeling certain that you'll get what you want.  And feeling grateful as if you have already attracted and experienced some really great oobes, is important - that is, if you are choosing to consciously apply law of attraction, law of deliberate creation and law of allowing type principles to facilitate your 'getting out'.

You asked for recommendations on breathing and visualization exercises.

Monroe's Resonant Tuning tape/cd is not only hemi-sync/bi-neural beats, but it is also an excellent breathing exercise because you do the breathing/toning along with the tape.  And it's definitely a breathing exercise that facilitates the process of getting out... one big reason is that the exercise is causing the inner body/astral body to resonate at a different frequency than the physical.

For visualizations:  I have found the chalkboard drill to be pretty good.
Simply imagine a chalkboard or white board and write a number on it, erase it, write another, erase it, and so on from 1 to 100... usually you don' get all the way to 100, you just do the drill until you either drift off to sleep which is fine because the idea is that you will be able to wake up later from a dream state... or you do the drill till you start seeing hypnogogic imagery.  And from there you work with images until you shift or phase outta here.

Good luck my friend, with whatever things you try.  I am pretty sure it won't be long as you are such an avid student of this subject.

Wow,

I haven't heard about that one.  Sounds interesting.

I do know that a person who can see vivid imagery really well can step into that 3D image and the that world will become real, as the traveler shifts consciousness and phases into another world.

So what I think might be going on with the photo things is that whoever is looking at must first get in that altered state we all have to experience to shift into the other worlds.  Ya know what I mean?

So a person who's got some kind of great ability there, can probably focus on the photo, and just phase into that place.  I've never heard of it before, but theoretically I can see how it could work.

The government has done research on this, believe it or not.  It was part of their remote viewing spy program of a few years ago.

Whatever you can do with scientific remote viewing you can theoretically do with an oobe.

Anyway, you can do an oobe in this remote viewing style too, where you have a handler or monitor and have a viewer, but in our case an astral traveler.

As the handler, I took the traveler into a couple different past lives.  They were very real, of course, and one was emotionally painful for my friend, as she found herself in a black coach, drawn by horses, crying over someone she loved very much, who had just died.

We did a future time travel thing as well, several hundred years into the future.

And to answer your question, yes, you just think of the date, or "the number of years" you want to travel, forward or backward.

But yes, you are able to interact.

One way is that you actually merge with and become the You back then, or the you in the future.

The other way it occurred in our research was that she was like another person right there in the environment observing and interacting.

In this particular experiment with this oobe/time travel stuff my friend found herself at a wedding... her own wedding.

But she was in the house looking out the window at her other self getting married.  As her handler/guide I asked her to touch the walls and look around the house.  She could feel everything and just like any other oobe, it was super real.  She even went to a mirror and got a good look at herself.  (She looked different there, than how she looks now.)

Ok so that was my personal experience with this time travel as a coach/guide/handler.

I have had a few oobes that involved time travel myself.  Now I can't tell ya about things like going a week or two into the future to find out what the winning lottery numbers are or what horse wins the big race.... I think the government guys were working that problem...but I have found myself while out of body in the future.

Ya gotta realize though that time and future and all that, has infinite variables and time-lines going (read Seth Speaks for more info on this).  But all that aside there I was in a future place and time.

And this may sound a little bit "out there" but in fact in this particular experience I was a time-cop.  And I found myself in a hotel, rescuing a scientist of some kind who had been kidnapped from a future time (where I had just come from) and stashed here in this hotel, in his "past".  He was tied in a chair.  I had come from the future, like I said, found him, released him, and then unfortunately woke back up here in earth physical, in the present.

For more info. check out (i.e. Google Scientific Remote Viewing, SRI (Standford Research Institute - that helped with this government psi research.)   Russian Remote Viewing.  Ingo Swann, Major Danes, and the Philadelphia Experiment.  (this was an experiment of the government, well documented, where an entire battleship (the USS Eldridge) disappeared and shifted into the future, then back.  There's a book, and lots of eye-witness reports, etc.

Ok, that's my take on this stuff.

Anybody else?

I am interested to know if anyone else here has had oobes that had something to do with the future or the past too.

Anybody?

I don't know about A1 or A2, but F27 is short for Focus 27.

This comes from Robert Monroe's mapping out the levels of consciousness, i.e. focus. (He's got books, Journeys Out of Body, far Journeys, and Ultimate Journey you'll find more in those.  And he's got the Monroe Institute.)

Don't know where a list or terms can be found off hand, but...

You can Google it until you find a good glossary.

Google, first hit:
Focus 27 is the Afterlife area of greatest free will choice for its inhabitants. It's an area created by humans and often resembles physical earth ... more at www.afterlife-knowledge.com/27.html

I think an astral projection glossary, lexicon, encyclopedia, or dictionary would be great.

Some metaphysical websites have huge glossaries and such.

Good luck with it.

Heck there may even be something here at Astral Pulse, I don't really know.

I think Googling it or wiki will be a great help though.

But the thing is, I have had dreams, and I have had lucid dreams, but nothing as real as this was. But all day the next day it was as if I had really been there, which I am sure I was because it was just as real if not more so than I am sitting here typing this message.

Any feedback or thoughts on what actually happened?

Here's my take on it Dalearner,

These experiences in other world/planes/dimensions come in two basic flavors:

1.  You find yourself in a realm that existed before you got there, and will continue to exist after you leave.... because others are creating it besides you, when you are actually there.

2.  You find yourself in a realm that did not exist before you got there, and will not continue to exist after you leave.... because no one else is creating it but you.

So your experience probably came in one of these two flavors... and that's just for you to judge.

Here's another "thing" that might be happening over there in your experiences.

We have guides and friends (and other aspects of self) that often help out with our other world experiences.  So it can be that the world is created mainly by you, but with the assistance of guides or pals who are there to help you sort things out, learn and grow.

If that were the case... they may have been 'players' in basically your creation.  And could have played the tall angel, the grumpy human soul, and another as your brother.  If this were the case and you wanted to figure out what it was all about, you could ask yourself
something like this:

Q.  If I created this realm myself, and it was all my own doing (subconsciously) yet I invited helpers in, to help me play out this dramatic and impressive scenario... if I did that, what might be some of the problems or issues I might be trying to sort out, understand or work on?

It could be that your experience was in a world or realm not created only by you.  It could be a place that existed before you got there, and continues after you leave.

If that's the case, well, all kinds of weird places and types of beings exist in these non-physical realms and it looks like you had quite and adventure while looking for your brother.

And it's for the adventure, the experience, the learning, and the solving of things that seems to play a big part in living life in or on any plane existence.

So perhaps it was for the interesting adventure of it all.  (just another maybe to put on your list).

But to remove the 'maybes' you can ask yourself... something like:
Q:  Ok, if I created this or caused myself to experience this on purpose, what would be the point?

Or...

Q:  If the law of attraction applies here, what sort of things have I been thinking about a lot recently and with strong feelings, that would cause me to attract such an experience in the higher planes?

Hope this helps.

Hi Che,

The Vibs, The fear feeling- and stuck.

Let me explain how this works - maybe.

The vibs can definitely get freaky intense, oh so true!

What I've experienced is that along with the vibrations, at least twice I also experienced an overwhelming, serious sense of fear.

The fear of dying actually, and I mean really dying!  So strong it was that I felt I had better shake off the vibrations and "wake up" fast and completely, otherwise I might die, like from a heart attack or something (and I was only 15 at the time).

The second time it happened I realized it was sort of a packaged deal, like: "it cost a lot in effort to get the vibs going, but you get the fear for free" :-)

So the second time I gutted it out and just stayed with the vibs hoping something neat would happen next.  It did.  I didn't get out of body but I did start hearing sounds, clear as a bell that sounded more real than physical sounds.  So it was a start.  And one of my very first experiences with all this stuff.

If you are not sure where to go from here you might consider some of the following:

1.  If you can get the vibs going keep working with them.

2.  One approach to getting out has to do with working with and using the vibs.

3.  How to work with and use them is to "get out" is to first get them going... but then keep them going as long and as intensely as possible, and through as much as your body as possible.  (using will power and intention).

The idea or theory here is that your second body is stuck to your physical body because of the vibs of the second body are so similar to the vibs of the physical body.

Like attracts like and all that, or think of it this way:

Vibration is the action of something moving back and forth, to and fro, up and down or what have you.  And it does this at a particular rate, and how frequently it does this in a given amount of time is it's frequency.

Now what you feel when you feel the vibs is your second body vibrating at a different frequency than the physical.  Normally both bodies vibrate at the same frequency (or harmonics of the same frequency) in such a way that you don't feel it.  (like if you put your hand is a shoe box and flapped in back and forth, you'd feel your hand hitting the box.... unless the box was going back and forth at the same frequency as your hand.)

So this is what's called a "working theory"  meaning it works to help get to the next step of getting out, it makes some sense of it all.  But it doesn't mean necessarily that this is really how it works, might be, but it doesn't matter, and we don't have to prove it.... a working theory.

So when you get your hand flapping back and forth in the box and it's hitting both sides really fast, what would cause you to stop hitting the box and feeling it?  Several things, one stop flapping your hand, but two, if you kept flapping your hand back and forth and flapped it faster, and shortened the range of the back and forth movement (the amplitude) your hand would be vibration faster and you wouldn't feel it hitting anything.

So you can sort of take that analogy and your hand is the second body aka astral body, and the box is your physical body.

Just for fun let's take this analogy a bit further.

Let's say it's not a box but a small tin can, and your hand is STUCK in it, and I mean REALLY stuck!

Now image that you had some kind of vibrator thing handy and you anchored it to the can.

Now you turn on the vibrator, at a very low frequency and you feel the vibrations as it knocks your hand and the can back and forth very slowly (about 5 times a second aka 5 hertz i.e. 15 cycles per second).

Now you can feel it, but but your hand's not coming out, still too stuck.

But let's crank the vibrations way up, way, way up... but let's do it rather slowly so we can see what's going on.

As the vibs increase little by little, you can feel the difference in your hand.  Some of the feelings and sensations may feel comfortable, some may feel uncomfortable but the feeling keeps changing as the vibs increase.

So we keep upping the vibrator and thus the cycles per second, until finally the can is vibrating so fast and at a certain frequency (that is different from you hand inside) in such a way as your hand slips right out.

I'm sure you get it, but another way example of this "loss of friction" which could allow your hand (or your second body) to slip out of what it's stuck in is this:

You have your hand on rough work bench.  As you rub your hand across it you feel the drag and the friction.

But now you have some kind of vibrating equipment running at a very hi speed and it's causing the whole work bench to vibrate.

And at a certain frequency you notice how your hand, as you rub it across the bench, it sort of just glides over it easily, with little to no friction.

And this is because your hand and the bench are vibrating at different frequencies and they can't make a good contact with each other even if they wanted to.  (And it doesn't matter which thing is vibrating faster - it's that they are vibrating at significantly different frequencies is the key.)

So this whole BUZZ and vibration thing, theoretically works along these same principles.

The buzz is what you feel as your second body steps up it's vibration.
It steps up because you intend it too and/or because you are subconsciously doing something that connects you with some (non-physical) energy sources or energy centers that vibrate at these higher frequencies (perhaps).

So now your second body begins to vibrate faster.

If a person can work with these vibs, they can use them by increasing the vibs until the second body has increased in frequency to match the frequencies of the non-physical environments you want to walk around in.  At this point the vibs will no longer be felt.   Not because your second body isn't still vibrating really fast.  But because it's vibrating so very fast at at such a finer wavelength that, like your hand in the box, it's no longer banging around so you don't feel it.

So once you get the this state - after the intense vibs have run their course, you may find yourself lyingor sitting there, with eyes closed feeling an erie silence and quiet.

What you are experiencing (imo) is a non-physical space.  At this point a person may still feel stuck in their body.  And they may notice they can't move their body (sleep paralysis) but this is only because they are no longer in the physical plane.  They are in the same location, but not the same dimension.

But they still feel stuck.

Why?

Because they don't know how to move.
Their beliefs are making it difficult.  They believe they can't move.

So at this point a rope technique or an elevator technique or any number of other techniques taht help the person practice moving in their second body may work.  This may be the first time they have ever tried to consciously move while disconnected from the physical body and plane, and they may just not know how yet.  So these various techniques are inviting the person to practice moving.  (There may be a few other factors that come into play as well, this covers some of the basics.)

Ok so the above is called a working theory... it may or may not be very accurate... but it does help... or I should say, it's been known to help some folks get to the next step - which is all the way out and a bit of a distance away from the the physical body.

I just realized I didn't say much about that fear feeling.  I think maybe a subconscious fear of death gets triggered sometimes simply because of the similarity of an oobe has to death ... need I say more... "spirit leaves body - film at 11"  :-D.

Hope it helps you Che.

Good luck.

I have a question for you.

Just for the record what do you believe in?

Hey, Dalearner:

That technique - if you're visual is really simply really.

When You close your eye's and get relaxed and all...

1. If you can start seeing vivid imagery rather easily what you do is simply reach for the imagery.  Sort of mentally reach out for it, as if to grab it and draw it near.

2.  Second step is to then withdraw from the image.  Sort of mentally draw back away from it.  Get the image to recede if possible.

The just repeat steps one and two over and over.

It's a reach and withdraw process that gives you more control over the images that you are creating subconsciously.

It also helps you stay focused on the none physical stuff.

If all goes well, what's likely to happen next is that other things will start appearing in context with the image you are working with.

Like it it's just a face, more of the body might start showing up.

After a bit what you can do (again this is for the people who are good with the vivid imagery stuff) what you can do is look down from the image, and look up.  From experience as I have coached people on this, what happens is that what starts out to be just a single image, turns into a full scale 3D environment, that can actually be interacted with... in other words, with a little work, there comes a consciousness shift and a person may find themselves in F2 (their own universe).

You asked me about this:
"What do you mean by not everyone is keen about getting out of my body at will?"

maybe that was a typo on my part cause what I meant was "not everyone is keen about getting you getting out of your body at will."

In other words other (non-physical) beings may not like you learning how to get out.  And what I mean by that is that there are all kinds out there with all kinds of intent.  And I was just speculating that maybe some were messing with you trying to 'cuff' you to your body.  (It's not a big deal they don't have a lot of power in most cases, but sometimes they like to willy with you.)  But the whole stuck ankle thing could've been any number of things.

Welcome to Out of Body Experiences! / Re: need help
February 17, 2008, 15:36:58
I'd love to share a big long list of techniques with you but here's the deal.

The list of techniques is one thing, writing them up, describing what they do, when to use 'em, how they work the theory behind 'em, and just the step by step instructions of them... is very time consuming.

But, I'll see what I can do.

I will start a list of some techniques - not how to do them though.  Perhaps you can snoop out the details later.

I have tried many techniques, and made up quite a few myself.  Some worked for me, some didn't.

But most of them I got out of astral project and oobe books.

There's also lots of techniques on the net.  Different places over the years I have found sites that offer these lists of techniques (with the details of how to do them).

But just for fun (and it will help bring back to mind for me as well) here's list of some techniques I've come across and used over the years.

Mind you there are techniques for various steps and stages of "getting out" or once you are out, staying out for awhile.

So different techniques for different part of getting out.  (This was mentioned in this thread already and is an excellent point to keep in mind.)

What you need to look at is what part of the 'getting out' process do you need to work on at your current level of training?

So even before there's a list of techniques there should be a short or brief list of the stages (for which there are techniques to help get proficient).

Thing is, some people (myself included) tend to jump to or reach for a technique that helps at the level just beyond were I am proficient.  It's kinda like the level you need to work on is a bit too difficult, too boring or too misunderstood, so what we all do is tend to move on past that "no fun" stuff and on to something new and exciting... like an exit technique.

I hope I don't sound like I'm lecturing!  (I am, I just hope I don't sound like I am!) :-D

Ok here we go.

1.  First Stage = Deep relaxation - trance state, mind awake-body asleep, meditation, sleep paralysis, hypnagogic state (aka vivid image seeing state between asleep and awake).

There's various techniques for this - really quite a few.  Most all have something do with meditation or deep relaxation. (Google it to find some techniques you think will work for you and practice, practice, practice.)

So one technique for this stage 1 thing is to practice any form of meditation or deep relaxation you can find.  You can probably Google it and find several sites that go into the details on how to do these things a lot faster than I could write up just one.

Hypno-tapes and cds are sometimes pretty good with this deep relaxation thing if that's your thing.  Monroe's first series worked well for me.

Another technique for getting to the mind awake body asleep place is to set your clock to get you to wake up about 45 minutes to a couple hours before your usual morning wake up time.  (The idea is to get you to wake up in the middle of an oobe you wouldn't even know you had otherwise - cause you couldn't remember it.)

Along those same lines...waking up about 30 to 45 minutes after going to sleep at night is a technique to get you to mind awake-body asleep.  Use an alarm clock set to a very, very soft tone.  (You do not want to wake up the body, just You!)

Theory:  Your body goes to sleep usually the same time YOU do.
So no matter what sort of relaxation or deep trance or mind awake body asleep thing you are doing, there's the body going to sleep, and there's you going to sleep (sleep or unconscious -pick the turn of phrase you like best).

The idea is to either stay awake as your body drifts off to sleep, or wake back up after you AND your body both fall asleep.  So there's several techniques for accomplishing this.  The above are just two of many.

One that Thomas Edison has been said to use is to hold marbles in hand as he sits in his easy chair for a nap.  As he drifts off to sleep, his grip slackens and the marbles fall into a bowl, causing him top wake back up just as he is falling asleep.  Technically this is not a technique for getting into a deeply relaxed state (Duh!)  But what it is instead, is a technique for getting into the hypnagogic (vivid image seeing state) which is really another aspect or step or stage to the 'getting out' process.

The good news is that we all don't always have to consciously do all these various stages of getting out.  Sometimes they happen naturally, sometimes they happen and we don't notice they did, and sometimes all the steps are not necessary.

And I think this might why new people sometimes go straight the 'exit' techniques.... because others have done "just the exit technique" like the rope thing or something like that, and it worked for them.  What may not have been mentioned (or noticed) is that maybe the traveler's physical body was deep into a trance state, i.e. deeply asleep.  No telling what the details might be.  The point is there really is a lot going on here "behind the scenes.  The good news is there are lots of workable techniques, methods and approaches to 'getting out' and/or polishing your skills to get out more, better and faster.  Lots of books on this stuff, lots of websites, lots of techniques.  Just gotta remember, it's not always just about that 'exit' technique.

So all these "Stage 1" techniques... once you understand some of the basic  principles involved with them (as mentioned above) you can really start inventing your own.  Or at least start making educated guesses as to which one's will work best for you and whether or not you even need stage 1 stuff.  Maybe you have stage 1 nailed!

Ok, then on to Stage 2.

Once you get to Stage 1 - deeply relaxed, mind awake-body asleep, that sort thing...once you get there you are ready to apply (as needed) Stage 2 techniques.

One of the main things to know about these stage 2 techniques is what you are trying to do at this stage 2 in the first place.

At stage 2 you want to withdraw you attention from all things physical.
this is because it's your attention on the physical (or any aspect of it - like your body, your physical life problems, room temperature, etc.)... it's your attention on the physical that plays a major roll in keeping you here and reminding you of the whole physical life "thing" you got going here.  You have to let it all go, in order to "get away" from the physical.

Let put the above another way in stage 2 you gotta have your attention on something non-physical, because you are ultimately going where your attention is.  If it's on any aspect of your body...not good.

So once you have the body asleep and mind awake (i.e. you are awake, but your body is asleep or in a nice trance state) you are ready to pull the rest of your attention (as needed) away from the physical.

Now all the above was a lot of "theory" before I've even mentioned a technique.  But the reason I'm telling you this is so you understand on a deeper level what you are trying to do here, so that you can better understand what techniques to use when, and even how to start creating your own techniques (if that's your thing).

Stage 2 techniques:
There's the "buzz drill" for lack of a better name.  It's the technique in Robert Monroe's first book: Journey's Out of Body (near the back I think).  He has you focus attention above your head as you try to get the vibrations going, and once you do (if ya do - it takes practice) then you pull the vibs down from your head through your body to your feet and then back up again.

At first your attention will sort of be on your body, but when it starts working all your attention is on the buzzing sensation itself.  And this feeling is actually focusing our attention on a non-physical energy phenomena, it's your second body aka astral body that's buzzing like crazy, not your physical.  So this is a second stage drill... as it is helping you take your attention completely off all things physical.  (as a note: if you try to do a stage 3 technique and you haven't gotten past stage 1 or 2, it may work but it's not likely.  Also it's good to be aware that some techniques will inherently take you through more than one stage, and if they are really good, may take you all the way to oobe, just that one drill.

Also keep in mind that all this Stage 1, 2 and 3 sort of thing is really about ONE approach to getting out of body (the approach where you are getting out by first putting the body to sleep, and you then wake back up a little later or a lot later).  But this is different from "getting out" via a dream or a lucid dream, and a few other ways of "getting out".

There's also 'scared out', 'knocked out of body', runners sometimes go out of body while running, there's 'talked out' similar to a remote viewing session with viewer and handler... but instead of remote viewing you actually go out of body with the help of the guide.

But back to stage 2 where whatever technique is employed, you are drawing attention off the physical and onto the non-physical.

There's the chalkboard drill; Simple really.  If you have gotten past stage 1, and the body's asleep and you're awake, you can visualize writng numbers or letters on a chalkboard, then erasing each number, then writing the next and so on.  The idea is that you get so involved in this that your attention is pulled off any parts of your physical body etc, and there you are, mind awake, body asleep, and attention on the non-physical almost completely.  What usually happens if this technique works for you is that yo begin to see other things you weren't even trying to see.  And there you, ready for stage 3.

Stage 3.

At stage 3 you are ready for all sorts of exit techniques.

a.The rope thing, where you use it to pull yourself out of body.

b. The elevator visualization where you imagine stepping into the elevator and going up - I suppose you could imagine going down - let me know how that goes  :-D )

c. Rolling side to side like a log your trying to roll out of rut, side to side until you build up enough momentum to over come the 'magnetic-like' influence the physical body has on your astral/energy body. (I read about this one in Robert Monroe's first book as well.)

d.  Stretching:  (Courtesy of willy Sutfen - he had an astral projection hypno-tape series going about 20 years ago, they still on the market, I don't know, anyway...) Imagine stretching your head a few inches beyond your physical head.  Then pull it back.  Then do your feet. Then pull 'em back.  Keep stretching both directions until you notice you are out of body.  This one never worked for me personally though.  sounds good and I think it's probably worked for others.

But here's the theory behind it.   Once you are deeply relaxed and in your trancy "mind awake-body asleep" state (stage 1)... your energy body/astral body can still be stuck (magnetically sort of) in your physical body, so it's your job to pull it out on way or another, if the rope didn't work... you can try stretching your very elastic astral body this way and that.  The idea is to work it loose from the physical body and like with a magnet stuck to a "refrigerator door", if you just get one little part of that sucker unattached the rest gets a lot easier really fast.  The trick is to keep the attention on your astral body and none at all on the physical body.  I think the times I did it, it didn't work so well cause I really hadn't gotten completely past stage 1, much less stage 2, and this is "technically" a stage 3 type process.  But remember some processes do work double duty and can handle helping you get through more than one stage.

Another Stage 3 type technique is to imagine you are lighter than air balloon.  Sometimes your astral body will respond nicely to this intention and you will feel very bouyant almost instantly... but you will also notice that magnetic type pull of the physical body on the astral body.  And once again this technique works best if you have gotten stably past stage 1 and 2.

Trying to do these stage 3 visualization/imagine type processes as a way to exit the body, when you haven't fully accomplished the objectives of stages 1 and 2 may cause you to work extra hard at them, with somewhat unsatisfactory results.  (Did I say that in a nice enough way?  Was that better than saying "Read my lips...it probably won't freakin' work, ya Goof! " :-D )

So anyway, there's tons of techniques for all this stuff, for all the stages of it.
And there are other forums out there that actually have a section on techniques.  Well there was one for sure (Jonas Ridgeway's, but last I heard that one's gone).  But I can only suppose there are others.

The way I learned so many is I bought lots of books over the years (20 or more - that's books not years... no wait, yeah over 20 books, and over 20 years too, yeah  )... And then also I've read stuff on the net and all.  Like you're doing.

I've just probably been at it a little longer than you is all.

I don't think my post here is exactly what you were looking for, but your post certainly got me inspired to at least share some of the stuff I've learned over the years.

So thank you for asking about a list of techniques.

I hope some of this helps you.  And if you can't find a place with lots of projection techniques on the net, with all the details, let me know, I'll see if can find some that I've come across over the years, and send ya the links.

If you could somehow transfer a part of spirit out of your body and seal it in something like an inanimate object would that make you bound to the physical world?Because if apart of your spirit is sealed up in an inanimate object you wouldn't pass on into the afterlife completely right because apart of you would still be stuck here?I don't know if this is possible or not i am just guessing and don't plan on trying this either and don't even know how it could possibly work.I am just curious as to what everyone else thinks.

I got a short answer and a long answer.  The short answer is at the bottom of the page if ya prefer short posts.

Long answer:

You are asking quite advanced type questions here.

Ok, so try this on for size...

Q: If you could somehow transfer a part of spirit out of your body and seal it in something like an inanimate object would that make you bound to the physical world?

Let's say you could do that.  Transfer a part of your spirit out of your body... (let's not talk about seal it in something else just yet).

First of all it's possible.  It is.  It's definitely possible for a human being (i.e. a spiritual being in a human body) to transfer part of it's spirit into something else.  Bi-location is an example of it.  And I have read about people "being the tree" as in really being the tree and feeling as if the tree was their body.

Well if we can do that, we can certainly be a rock too, or maybe just put ourselves in a bottle or something.

But what really makes your question interesting are two things...

1.  You are asking about transferring just a part of spirit out of your body not all of it.

2.  And then sealing it in!

So in order to transfer, we are about "splitting" spirit, as opposed to duplicating spirit, right?

If you are splitting a spirit, this implies two parts.  Which implies each part may be only proportionately 'alive' or as vital as it would be, if it were whole.  And thus not really complete as spirit goes, now that part has been split off.

If this is the way we're going with this, then this is where we get the ideas of True Loves, "slit-aparts", twin-flames, and twin souls, or "the-other-half-that-completes- me".  These kinds of concepts come out of this idea of splitting a soul or splitting spirit.  And I believe it's possible.

And not only that, I believe it's been done and done again, and you and I and most everyone else on earth is somewhat split apart from other aspects of Self.

So in this regard, we do have this ability somewhere in our consciousness or subconsciousness.

But can you or I do it now, at will?  Maybe, maybe not.  And would we want to... given our current state of consciousness and ability?

I'm thinking we'd be more apt to want to rejoin aspect of self that we have split apart from...which might gain us more awareness and consciousness in the bigger picture.  (By the way this one of the "models" of how Life and Consciousness really works.  As we grow in experience, consciousness, awareness and ability... it is said that as we leave this earth life we eventually work our way back "up" to rejoin the rest of "Self".)

So this idea of splitting the spirit or the soul is actually pretty well accepted in some circles.

And as a matter of fact it's been said, just like you have been speculating... a part of you IS still stuck here!  And it's the you that's reading this!

Imagine for sec that there's a More Conscious, More Aware, Smarter You, that's NOT currently in the physical plane of existence.  Now imagine that, that "higher you", is going... "Man, how do I get the rest of me unstuck from the physical?"

Now imagine (just for kicks) that this other you has also put a part of Self into rocks, trees, planets, other people, about the same time it split apart of Self off and made itself into you.  Weird huh?  So just imagine this for a bit and put yourself into the shoes of this (real or imagined) other more Conscious Self.

Now ask yourself this question from that viewpoint.

"If I could somehow transfer a part of spirit out of my spiritual body in this higher plane and seal it in something like an inanimate object (or a human body) would that make me bound to the physical world?"

Hmmm, let me think.

Then maybe ask yourself this from that Higher self viewpoint:

If a part of my spirit is sealed up in an inanimate object (or a human body) I wouldn't pass on from there into the afterlife completely, right? Because apart of me would still be stuck there?  And I wouldn't move on from this (non-physical) plane I am in now, into the next higher plane, or next higher state of consciousness... because a part of me is still stuck in the physical, right?

I don't know.  What do you think?

Anyway, hope this helps you get a grip on some very deep stuff ya got going here.

Ok.  Now moving right along....

All the above was the long answer.

Here's the short answer:

what I believe is that is you were to split off part of your spirit and sealed it in something, the part that you sealed in, would in essence become another spiritual being, conscious of self, will the ability to think and choose and feel emotions.  If it's sealed into a rock or a bottle or something.  Just put yourself in that rock and take a look at what it feels like.  Also when you split off a part of self and do this little trick (spirit beings have been doing this sort of thing for ever) you have the option of giving that sealed in Self memory of how it got there, and why, or making it a blank slate.  Like "Where am I, and what's a nice Spirit like me doing in a place like this?"

So why I see this as such an interesting question is because it's all been done already and to YOU. (and me and others too of course).

Although it's cliche, what I find interesting as well is the fact that we are not just being humans trying to get spiritual, we are Spirits trying get human - and make it stick.

But it's all for fun, and for the adventure and the new experiences we get from putting ourselves in these seemingly crazy sets of earthly circumstances.

Ok, enough already.

Hope this helps.

I reckon you did it!

Way to go!

There's a powerful principle at play on oobes like this.

It has to do with "needs".

Being real thirsty for example and needing a drink of water.

There's a technique based on this.  (Not that I recommend it but...)  You deprive yourself of water such that when you go to sleep at night, there's this tremendous (deep) urge to get up and get a drink.  If the technique works what happens is that you, but not your body, will get up and go get a drink.

Your experience sounds like it might have been similar... maybe, maybe not.  Just a thought.

But yeah, I think you had an oobe.

Well done.

What do you suppose contributed to your having this experience?

Morning Justin,

MAGNETIC FIELDS and the STUCK FOOT Thing:

Yes there's a field around the body, or it's the field energy of the second body... and I have noticed a very definite magnetic field type phenomena when trying to pull away from the physical body (on some occasions at least).  The further you get from the physical body, the weaker the field and the pull.

This magnetic pull apparently can have a localized affect like on a foot or ankle.  And like how a magnet is difficult to separate from the refrigerator door when it is in complete contact... so it it is with a body part (unless you can change the polarity i.e get the second body out of phase with the physical entirely.)

Also there are minor chakras at ankles and feet.  Just speculating here but if the foot thing were to come up again, maybe a little chakra energizing on it specifically would help.

But generally speaking you seem to be moving right along with this whole thing rather quickly.

It took me three weeks using one technique every night, plus lots of intention and affirmations (100 times written) and various little tricks before I got my first partial oobe.

But before that intensive work I had been wanting to get out of body for about 14 years and had done quite a few things that were supposed to help me get there but in fact they turned out to be good set ups, but with out any of the pay-offs.  (Long story - but all that "set-up" stuff finally paid off in the end.)

The rope technique and others, like the "elevator" and the "log-rolling over" sort of deal... these techniques (I'm thinking), are most effective when the physical body is totally asleep, you are totally awake and it's after the buzz... or it's when you wake up (spiritually) after you and the body both have fallen asleep.  Often, you -not the body though- wakes up just a few minutes after you and your body have fallen into a sleep state.

When it happens this way, there's a chance you won't feel the vibs or the buzz, but you will be in good shape to try one of those rope or elevator type deals.

Thing is, those types of techniques appear to be more for the person who doesn't know how to move away from the body, than for the person who's stuck in the body.  Kinda like a person in stuck in the middle of the pool who can't swim.  They're not stuck, they just don't know who to get out.  A rope would help.  But if they have their foot tied to a rock at the bottom of the pool, they don't need the rope trick, they need something that's going to help them detach from the rock (or the body as it were).  Big difference.

Well done on all the studying you are doing.  That's excellent.  Da leaner - that fits (is that why you picked it, or is your name something David A. Learner or something?

Just curious.

Oh it could be Dale Aner, just noticed that.  :-D

One of the reasons I'm "Lucky" is cause lots of my oobes have pretty girls in them... that love me (really).  But probably the real reason is cause I feel lucky having had so many educational type, long duration oobes in "far away" places.

Anyway, where were we?

The single most effective thing I did to get my oobe ability up to speed was to use the first 3 or 4 tapes in the first series from the Monroe Institute.  "Wave 1" I think they called the series.  (I got the set in 1987 - and still have it).  It's the relaxation thing, (brain hemispherical-synchronization thing and the "toning" thing (ooohs and ahs), and the breathing thing that you learn and use that really gets thing moving along as far actually getting out goes.  (All really simple stuff, actually... you've probably heard of this stuff yes?  Anyway, it worked for me really well.  But I have tried lots of stuff.  Even bought some expensive Nova Dreamer Glasses and stuff - didn't work for diddly - but I think that was just me - wearing the glasses knowing the lights were going to flash once i went into REM made it difficult to impossible for me to even fall asleep in the first place.)

QuoteIt felt like my astral foot was handcuffed to my physical foot

If that's what it felt like, perhaps it was (in a sense).

There's a lot of wild and crazy stuff going on just across the veil, and not everyone (on this plane or on other planes) are really keen on you learning how to get out of body at will.

So someone could be fooling around with you, and attempting to "cuff you" to your body.  This isn't necessarily likely.  But it's possible.

A fix on something like this is simple. (The only hard part - if this was really going on is the part about diagnosing the "problem" in the first place.)

Anyway the fix on something like this (handling mischievous entities) would simply be to imagine the "cuffs" holding your astral body to the physical, and imagine (while in a relaxed, meditative state) picking the lock, or if it's an electronic hi tech lock, imagine breaking the circuit or some such deal.

Non-physical entities can fool around with us (and do) but we, innately are very powerful as our imagination literally creates worlds "over there".

So all we have to do (if entities are fooling with us - and I am not really saying that's what's going on with you, I'm just yapping here) ... All we have to do, in most cases is focus on them, spot what they are doing (meaning spot their intention toward you) and they are OUTTA HERE!

They don't hold up well to scrutiny from the likes of us.

You're visual, great.

Let me ask yo a few questions about your visualization ability.  Hope you don't mind.  (if I'm too nosey, just ignore 'em.)

1.  When you lay down for oobe practice or for a nap or sleep at night...
Do you easily see vivid imagery, like just stuff just sort of start appearing?  like trees, or ceilings, or people's faces or anything?

2.  I guess what I'm asking is do visual images come to you that easily?

3.  When you consciously practice visualization how vivid are the images, and do you have much control over them?

4.  On a vividness scale from 0 - 10 how vivid are the images you when you are doing a visualization exercise?  (0 being can't see anything period and 10 being 3D Hi definition Photo realistic.)

I have coached a few people using the techniques and the better they could visualize, the better and faster the technique worked on them.  It's research and a work in progress you see.  It's what I love to do.

Now I don't know if any of these techniques will work for you, but I'll be glad to share them with you, and if they seem like they are worth a try, you can give 'em a go.  The better I understand your level of ability, the better I can present the material in a way that will be most workable for you.

It's because different techniques work with different levels and degrees of visualization ability, that I am asking such snoopy questions about your ability.

But just so you know, my own visualization ability is only around 2 or 3 on the above scale.  Not actually good enough for these techniques.  I can't use on myself!  I have used them with some of my very visual friends though with stellar oobe success.

About the TIREDNESS:
On several occasions I have come back from an oobe totally exhausted.
To the bone as it were.  Charging your chakras has helped you?  Great.  Tell me more.  I have never actually found a good solution for this myself.

Ok, that's about it.

Hope ya don't mind long posts... once I get started...look out! :-)

You are doing really well so far Justin, from the sound of it.

Maybe some of the following will help with your understanding:

First, whether you are dreaming, lucid dreaming, or full out of body doing your thing, here's what's in common with all 3 states (and I am telling you this because you might be able to use it, to shift from dreaming to fully conscious oobe).

1. All 3 states are states of consciousness, simply different degrees of it.

2. How awake you is key.  Meaning how awake you are and how conscious you are while:

   a).  awake in the physical
   b).  while dreaming
   c).  while lucid dreaming
   d).  while oobe

What this has to do with it is that if you can get to the lucid dreaming state, (and it appears from what you wrote, that you can) one of the things to keep in mind is that to get from lucid dream to "full blown oobe" is a shift in consciousness.  But an easier way to say it is you need to wake up just a little more.

You see, the more awake you are, while the body is asleep, the more apt you are to get completely out of body.

Now this isn't the only requisite to getting out but it's one of the key things.

So a little more practice (or will power) as regards waking up a little more while having your lucid dreams  may give you that extra umph you need.

Drills or exercises you can do to help this happen are things like:

1.  Looking hard and looking with great intensity at your hands as soon as you realize you are lucid dreaming.  And doing this same drill in the physical can help you remember to do it in the dream.  Why is this a good drill for this?  Because when you look hard at anything, you are bringing in more focused attention, and thus more consciousness to that which you are focusing on.  And in this case what you are focusing on is YOU in a non-physical environment!  And to become fully awake in the non-physical planes, it requires that you be full awake, AND be fully focused on a NON-physical environment.  So focusing hard on your (non-physical) hands pulls attention away from the physical plane and away from THINKING.  When you think to much, what you are thinking about gets more attention than the non-physical world you want to be more fully drawn into.  See how that works?  Recap:  thinking too much while trying to get from lucid dream to oobe, focuses attention on thinking and on the things you are thinking and not on where you want to be.  Focusing your attention on your energy body's hands draws more and more consciousness into your non-physical realm.  And with greater consciousness comes the shift in consciousness to "oobe consciousness".  And from there you can "step out of" (i.e. shift consciousness out of) the dream state and emerge (in consciousness) into any number of realms, like: the belief system territories, F3, Focus 23, Local 2, the astral, parallel universes, alternate realities, the etheric plane, or whatever.

2.  next little drill.  While lucid dreaming if you can say to yourself something like "I am here, this is real" then look closely at various things in your dream environment, this can help (much like the hands drill above) in that it will help you become more conscious of the environment, and how real it appears.  Remember, to get from lucid dream to "oobe" one of the things required is a boost in consciousness, and usually just a little more.

Next subject:

Also I've noticed that you are doing a terrific job getting partially out, and getting the buzz going.  That's great!

That shows that you are able to shift focus from the physical to the non-physical pretty well.  And focus on or get in touch with the buzz energy.

Maybe you know this, but if not you might want to give it try...
next time you get the buzz going...

1.  See if you can keep it going for as long as possible.  One way to do this (found in Monroe's 1st book) is to imagine there's another chakra or energy center further past the crown chakra at the top of your head.  Just reach in that direction (along the body's axis) and reach for a source of the energy... if this works, what happens is you feel the energy kick in and start vibrating more and faster.  If it happens, use will power to make it buzz faster, and then more will power to pull the buzzing down through your head, then your chest and on down to your feet...and then back up if you can.

Why do all this?  What's the theory behind it?

Well the theory is that one of the reasons you can get partially out. like you head or feet, but not the rest... is that some parts of the two bodies (physical and astral) are 180 degrees out of phase with each other and can thus separate easily, while other parts are not.  The buzzing (as the theory goes) is you feeling the two bodies shifting out of phase with each other...which is a good thing if you want out of body.

So doing the buzz control and direct exercise can make sure the entire astral/emotional body (the one you travel around in) gets vibrated and shifted far enough out of phase (or out of sync. you might say) with the physical to allow easier separation.

Make sense?

By the way... do you see vivid imagery easily?  If ya do, I know a great technique...

Hope this helps.

Lucky

P.S.  If this stuff rings your bell and you try it, let me know how it goes.  If not, hey there's a ga-jillion other things you can do.  And it won't be long either, cause from the sound of your post you are almost there!  So keep up the good work!

P.P.S.  And yeah, that rope technique can be a pain huh!

Hi BNofG...

Quote from: BillionNamesofGod on January 07, 2008, 21:12:56
This has been a truly amazing find for me - has anyone any feedback on the seth material and obe in context of parallel worlds?

Ok here's some feedback, just for fun:

I think a good way to grasp the subject of parallel worlds and such (since it's such a tremendous jump from conventional think anyway) is to just go ahead and assume that you and I are Gods - creators of worlds and universes... literally.

And from there, if you can think it, you can create it.

And this is because ultimately it's that simple to create anything and everything.  Just "considered it is so" and it is.

So by the very fact that you have considered the possibility of parallel worlds - you got 'em!  You could assume that on some level you have created them.

Now, can you experience them from this consciousness that you currently consider yourself to be?

Well that's where oobes can help in a big way (I know you know that, I'm just saying...)

So, anyway, you have the opportunity to merge with other selves in parallel or alternate realities, when you shift or phase into other aspects of Self in other dimensions and planes of existence.

On several occasions while out of body or phased into other worlds, I have noticed that I must be merged with another self that's been living there as a "local" of that realty system.  I could tell form various little experiments I've done on this subject.

Like one time I am talking to a girlfriend, and she's asking me if I love her.  "Well of course I love you... and I want to marry you and have children with you."  It just sort of came out my mouth as I am sitting there on sofa with this pretty little thing in some other world, I know not where.  And I was actually saying what I felt at the time.  But at the same time I was aware that i was "out of body" with a primary focus in this physical plane.

On a couple of occasions while in other planes of existence, it occurred to me wonder if I had a "past" there, and memory of it.  So I considered what I did "yesterday", or some in it's past.  And on more than one occasion I remember my "other world" past.

Once I was apparently coming "home" to visit a sweetheart and her family, in a parallel or alternate reality of earth circa turn of the millennium.  She lived in a devastated area of the southwest with her family who owned an outpost there.  At first, though I seemed to recognize everyone I didn't really know who they were.  And then this pretty girl comes over to me and wraps her arms around me and kisses me in front of mom and dad.  Then we go off by ourselves away from the canteen they own and we start talking intimately.  And I swear, I started wondering if THAT place was my primary focus, or if not, should it be.  But definitely, this appeared to be a very real alternate United States, circa 2000.

Anyway from my experiences I'd go with the parallel or alternate realities definitely do exist.  And when I experience them first hand, what's happening (I suppose) is that I am merging with an other aspect of Self, a ME that's living there "full time" as it were, like I am living here "full time" with the occasional excursion into parallel or alternate realities.... as feedback goes  :-)

I enjoyed "Seth Speaks" a lot (when I read it in 1984).  Then in 1987 I read Monroe's 3 books.  Then also in 1987 starting having oobes (using Monroe's techniques and stuff) - at first anyway).  I tried lots of different techniques and stuff since then and have had some doozies.

I've gotten the most out of the first 3.

There's several reasons for doing the breathing and the resonant energy balloon, and the resonant tuning.... the oooh's and ahhhs'.

These exercises help you induce an oobe because they help you change the vibrational frequency of your 2nd body (the one you travel around in while out of body).

For the 2nd body to separate from the physical, it must vibrate at a different frequency (vibrate much faster).  The breathing exercises help with this.

Imagining an energy "balloon" is practice for you to create and handle non-physical energy (among other things).  When out everything you see, feel and experience is going to be at a higher vibration than the physical.  These exercises help you practice creating, controlling, seeing and feeling these energies.  There's a lot more to it as well.

Hope this helps.

What worked best for me was
1. Read Robert Monroe's first book.
2. Do the exercises in it.
(it took about 2 0r 3 weeks that fist time)

That got me the first consciously induced oobes.

Then I got Monroe's first tape series and that took it to the next level for me.

The resonant tuning, and the hemispherical synchronization really help a lot.

I think most places you will go when out will be most permissive.
Thing is, when out you will find yourself in a place that is conducive with your current mind set, state of mind, state of case, emotional tone, spiritual development and all that.  So most likely you will not be in a place that is not ok with what might occur to you to do.

I have been in places where the locals don't fly.  I would fly around though.  I've asked the locals if they could fly, and I've gotten answer like "Yes but why fly."  And things like "Oh we don't do that here."  But it's not like they were saying I couldn't or shouldn't.

One time, out of curiosity I poked my finger INTO a cobblers forehead.  His head seemed to be made of a kind of pliable material, somewhat like plastic.  After words he sort of looked at me strangely as if to say "Why'd ya do that for?"  And later after coming back here, I felt kinda bad about it.

So the rule as far as no-no's go (that I made up myself) is don't do anything over there that you'd feel bad about later or that you think might be inappropriate.  In other words treat others as you would like to be treated.

But in the final analysis... I really don't know.  But... interesting question!

The whole poltergeist thing would be a testament that one who is out of body can affect the physical world.

Poltergeist definition... A noisy, mischievous spirit. Will move things, make noise, or attempt to grab attention... etc.

And I think Uri Geller and/or Ingo Swann may have been doing research on this as well.

Hey Aros,

The way I see it, in the higher planes, depending on where you go, the environments are there whether you personally are there or not.  And those environments are created by those who perceive that particular realm.  That realm may be real to the beings who are there, if they choose to use the term "real" at all.  But because the term "real" has more than one meaning, and because different people have different definitions for it, another term one can use is "actual".
