From "The Art of Loving" by Erich Fromm -

Love is the *active* concern for the life and the growth of that which we love.  Responding to their physical and psychic needs, expressed or unexpressed. Having respect (from respicere, to look at), the ability to see a person as he is, to be aware of his unique individuality, concern that he should grow and unfold for his own sake, and in his own ways, and not for the purpose of serving me. To respect a person is not possible without *knowing* him; care and responsiblity would be blind if they were not guided by knowledge.  Knowledge would be empty if it were not motivated by concern.  Care, responsibility, respect and knowlege are mutually interdependent.

I would also add "lifestyle change" to your list of neg removal methods.

Hello General-Army,

Well, cover all bases.  Take lots of vitamin C during the cold months - 250 miligrams per day if you are taking pills - and if you actually catch a cold, take about 1,000 miligrams (one gram) in small doses all during the day.   To build up your defences, Robert's NEW energy system strengthens your immune system (among other things).  Since practicing NEW for a few years now, I have only caught one minor cold - and that was because of an overload of a very stressful situation combined with hard physical work and sweating in a cold wind.  I'm surprised I didn't catch pneumonia.  Before practicing NEW, I used to catch just about everything  that was going around.  Please try it, it really works.

And remember, dose your sister up with vitamin C in winter.  If she doesn't get sick, YOUR chances of remaining healthy are a whole lot better!

Welcome to the Healing place! / Maoli's Message
October 31, 2002, 14:50:03
Dear Koji and Eriko,

It never ceases to amaze me how many lives Maoli has touched.  How could she do that?  How could she get so many people concerned about one other even though she was so far away?  How did she generate so many personal thoughts about people's meaning of compassion and caring and connection with others, no matter how far away they are, and no matter what their culture is?  Maybe Maoli's circumstances were an unexpected chance, but that little cutie mananged to turn it into a meaningful learning experience for so many.

I read a little poem today by Edwin Markham that touched my heart:

"There is a destiny that makes us brothers:
 None goes his way alone;
All that we send into the lives of others
 Comes back into our own."

Maoli is ok.  It's you as parents I'm worried about.  Just absorb the love that is being sent to you both, and know that you will most certainly meet Maoli again.

Be strong, with love,
Julia

Thank you Koji and Eriko for allowing us the wonderful privilege of having Maoli touch our lives.  We are all the richer for it.

May Divine Providence give you the love and strength needed to bear her loss.

Welcome to Healing discussions! / insomnia
October 29, 2002, 03:59:53
I forgot to mention, there are some good natural herbal tea mixtures on the market for insomnia available in health food stores.  Camomile tea with a little honey is also very calming.  The simple old fashioned practice of a mug of hot milk before bed to induce sleep really does work - but don't drink hot chocolate (caffeine).

There are also available cd's or casettes especially for insomniacs.  I've heard some great ones - calm sea-shore sounds with pan pipes etc etc - to play softly as you drift off to sleep.

Don't worry, if you try out all this stuff and totally nuke the thing, you'll soon be sleeping like a baby.  I cured my insomnia, and so can you.   (oh, and please put that gun away... you'll wake the neighbours!)

Welcome to Healing discussions! / insomnia
October 29, 2002, 03:29:55
Hello Arie,

I used to have insomnia.  I don't know what the cause of yours is, so I will give a blanket coverage of methods to cure it.

If you haven't slept properly during the night, you will feel really flaked out by the afternoon - DON'T give in to the temptation to sleep during the day.  Go to bed at a set time every night to train your body and mind  to expect sleep at that hour.  Exercise during the day, either jogging, work out, or hard physical work (best).  Don't eat spicey foods.  Stay off caffeine including tea and chocolate.  Before sleep, don't do anything that gets you excited.  Work out a "winding-down" routine to prepare yourself for bed such as reading a (calm) book or listening to relaxing music - especially effective if done while stroking the family pet (real good stress reducer).  Have a hot bath with some good bath salts.  Make sure your bedroom is tidy and the sheets clean - mess is stress inducing, believe it or not.   Do  this winding-down routine every evening along with the teeth-cleaning, house locking-up proceedure and it becomes a powerful psychological trigger that lets your brain know it's bed-time.

Once you lie down, go through a relaxing method (Robert's relaxation technique is excellent) of tensing and relaxing individual muscles from toes right up to neck and face.  If you have a sympathetic live-in partner who can also give you a massage - great!  Most important of all!!! - clear your mind.  Don't think!  Problems of the day, including worrying about insomnia, kill sleep.  Don't look at the clock!  Practice totally clearning your mind of thoughts.  You can start by imagining yourself in a nice scene, such as lying in a gently rocking boat, in quiet field with a gentle breeze, lying on the sand by the ocean listening to the waves.  Every time you find your thoughts running away with you, gently bring yourself back to your calm scene.  Periodically check that all your muscles are still relaxed.

Finally, during the day, do some deep thinking about any problems you may have that are worrying you.  And try not to resort to sleeping pills or alcohol - you don't want them to become your psychological triggers for sleep - not to mention the physical addiction.

Hope some of this helps.

Sweet dreams,
Julia

Welcome to Healing discussions! / smoking
October 29, 2002, 02:40:54
Hi,

A big part of quitting is motivation.  There is a very effective method you might consider trying.  Work out how much you smoke per month in money terms, then commit yourself to donating that amount to charity after you quit.  You are not only motivated by thinking about your own health, but you also feel real good about yourself because you are helping others  (accumulating a little positive karma doesn't hurt either!)   A suggested site is http://www.thehungersite.com - click on the highlighted "give to Mercy Corps".  This shows you how to have a set amount donated directly from your credit card every month with an email confirmation .  It's all online and mail free.  There are also other related charities to choose from such as the Rainforest site, Animal Rescue, Child Health and Breast Cancer sites.

Of course, you could always decide to keep the money saved from cigarettes in a jar and save up for something really nice for yourself.  But in my experience this doesn't seem to work as well as the motivation of committing yourself to helping someone else.

About a year ago my cat went missing for nearly a month and I remember how devastated I was.  She was brought up in an apartment and only knew the outside world from balconies and 2-month-long summer vacations every year in a beach  house far away from traffic and people.  She had just returned with my kids and parents-in-law from their vacation and was in my parents-in-law's apartment.  This apartment is above a store in a very busy shopping center choked with heavy traffic and crowds of pedestrians.  The door was left open and she managed to escape.  I'm giving you all this background just to let you know how unbelievable it was that she found her way back.  She had no experience to be able to survive in that environment and didn't know my parent's-in-law's apartment or the area to be able to return, especially in such a busy area.  The door to the street is always closed.  The whole family searched for her all over the shopping center, with no results.

Yet, my mother-in-law found her one day inside the entrance hall of the apartment block - someone had let her in.  I don't know if my efforts were what helped her to return, but every time I look at her, I give thanks that she is safely home again.  This is the method I used, if you want to try it.  I sincerely hope it helps.

First, get a strong image in your mind of your cat.  Think of an occasion when he was with you and you were feeling loving towards him.  Focus on this loving feeling and increase the emotion as much as possible while keeping an image of him in your "minds eye".  Then send a stream of this loving energy from your chest straight out to your cat (I imagined this stream in a pink colour), and totally surround him in a glowing haze of this energy.  Then visualize your cat near your house.  Get a clear picture of that line of energy drawing your cat back home.  Do this for about 10 mins and repeat as often as you feel like.  Also, I prayed to St. Francis of Asisi, who is the patron saint of animals, for help in guiding my cat home.  Pray to whoever you feel comfortable, but do send out a message for help because all creatures on earth are loved and cared for equally, especially a family pet that has taught us so much about unconditional love.

Good luck,
Julia

Welcome to Healing discussions! / NEW testimonial
October 13, 2002, 16:56:12
Hello Donna,

How wonderful that you are so interested in your tenants that you care for their health!  Believe me, this is a rarity amongst landladies.  I am so happy to hear that NEW helped him in his recovery.  His interaction with the spirit realm during his sleep time is not unusual.  NEW can have that effect on some people.  I say this because it happened to me.  He may not think that he is a spiritual man, but he obviously is (latent) or else he would not be having these experiences.  All I  can say, from my own experience, is to let him know that he is very lucky he has been connected with this side of himself and that he should not be afraid but try to develop it.  Who knows, maybe the very unusual circumstances of his sickness were designed to lead him to NEW and so open him up to exploring a side of himself that was just waiting for a chance to grow.

Hi hon,

You say you don't know what to do any more.  Ok, did you print out the NEW Energy Ways article?  If you didn't, please do.  Then take it to her and walk her through it.  If she feels your committment to it, she will be more likely to try it.  Get her nice and relaxed with eyes closed, and read out the instructions slowly while she tries out the technique.  I think this is better than just giving her the papers and telling her do it if she feels like it.  Be really encouraging and positive.  It will help if you read it through a few times yourself to become familiar with it, including trying out the technique yourself.  Also, make sure that you keep up regular practice with her, because the more often you do NEW the more strongly the effects are felt.  Please believe me, I have been using NEW for a couple of years now, and I couldn't do without it.  It has helped my health enormously.  I don't catch colds, I can relieve pain in any part of my body, I can stop hickups, I can get rid of headaches, nausea, allergic rashes and bruises -  the list is endless.  Keep up a gentle persistance with your sister until she is willing to give it a try.  When you are in real pain and nothing else works, you are willing to try anything.  She just needs to feel like there is hope.  Be positive and communicate that to her.

Please let us know how things develop.

Hi,

Sorry to get down to such mundane details, but I was just wondering how all this treatment, including the extended hospital stay, is being paid for.  It is wonderful to send healing energies to take care of the emergency, but that does not take care of the bills that follow.  Just in case there is any problem with money, I know of ways to raise funds.  The people of Greece (my adopted home) are very generous and there are many instances of ordinary folks who appeal to the public for funds in these cases and there is always a generous surge of help.  I'm sure that also on this forum there are others who are more than willing to give practical help not only in personal donations, but in the raising of funds for the little girl.  Please don't be too shy to ask.

Best regards,
Julia

Hello Erich,

I am very sorry to hear that your sister is in such pain.  Please tell me her first name and, if possible, post a fairly recent picture of her. In any case,  I will send healing energy immediately through the link of your posted message.

MOLE REMOVAL FAQ's

I've posted these FAQ's and the above article elsewhere on the forum, but this forum is soooo big, they could easily be missed....

>Hello Robert, I'm curious to understand exactly how this might work. Do you think this mole removal technique has anything to do with body energies or positive thought, or perhaps the ink of the pen, or even the way in which the pressure from the ball pointed pen was invoked.
>I am not questioning whether this technique works, but rather what makes it work. It just sounds too mysterious in the way it is described.

This method is a bit of an enigma. I try to keep my descriptions and instructions simple, but have pondered and tried to answer all these same questions over the years, and then some. The method works, but it should not work. How it works and why are wide open to research. I have not had the facilities to do more than crude, preliminary exploration, since I discovered this by accident around 1987. To properly document this and have some chance of discovering the how and why of it, I would need serious funding and support, and access to a wide range of volunteers. This, I believe, has the potential to grow into a whole new field of science, a hybrid of biophysics and metaphysics.

The full technique, including how I discovered it, is given in my new book, PPSD, mainly because removing skin blemishes affects and in many cases removes Neg attachments. As far as I can ascertain, all skin blemishes are related in some way to human energy body attachments. They could be said to be distant cousins to Stigmata Diabolis.

I have considered writing a small book on it with hundreds of photographs showing the life and death of many moles and etc. I do have some photographs, but its difficult as a special camera is really needed. And at the moment I simply cannot afford this, or the time to carry out the necessary photographic investigations. Ideally, I would also need a friendly dermatologist to document the before and after changes, and access to a pathology lab to investigate removed mole tissue and compare it with healthy mole tissue. As you can see, this would get complicated and costly. This is not to mention getting past the crazy factor, i.e., scientists and doctors would not help because, even if I showed them hundreds of photographs and a stack of depositions, they would still think I am crazy because the method sounds just too crazy to be true.

>I'm curious to know if any of the following have been tried in order to isolate what might actually be causing the healing:
>
>1) Is it the type of INK in the pen?
>Isolation method: Try various types/colors of inks from various ball point pens of different brand names. Which ones consistently work better than others?

Yes, I've done this. Blue and black seem to work best.

>2) Is it the ball point pressure or metallic surface?
>Isolation method: After you isolate which ball point pen seems to work most of the time, draw ink from the ball point pen by cutting the plastic tube containing the ink. With a dull pointed stick dip it into the ink and perform the same shape design (circle & +) on the mole(s). Document the effictiveness of the treatment and compare to ballpoint pen with the same ink.

Yes, done this. I've also used felt pens and paints and dyes. Some work, some don't, but I keep coming back to ballpoint pens as they are handy and seem to work better.

>3) Is it all in your head and has nothing to do with ball point pens or their ink ?

>Isoaltion Method: Get some new subjects with moles whom have never heard of this removal technique. Use a variety of different tools:
>- Use a black felt pen with the circle and + (this will isolate whether the ink used has anything to do with it)

Yup, considered and tested this. I have done this on volunteers without telling them what the ink diagrams are for, with same predictable results. Also, this works on animals.

>- Use a black felt pen on a different subject and simply paint the mole (dont draw circles around it) (this will isolate whether it is the + that actually does the healing and whether the circle is even needed).

No, I have not seriously tried painting the whole mole or blemish.

>- Use a black felt pen on yet a different subject and draw a triangle around it but don't put any ink on the mole.
>
>I could go on... but you get the idea... Anyways, who came up with this "circle" and the "+" anyways and what are their explanations as to how it works?

All of this needs to be done. I have gone as far as I could with what I had at the time.

It is possible the ink plays a part. It may conduct the energy, electricity, that flows along the surface of the skin. The circle and cross may condense the body's own healing energies, thus removing skin blemishes, etc.

Alternatively, the ink may insulate a mole inside a circle, and starve it of energy, but this is unlikely re my tests using only a cross. When a cross alone is used on say a large skin nevus (raised strawberry birthmark) the area directly under the ink bleaches white and the swelling disappears. This is how I discovered it.

The symbolic value of the symbol used may affect results, probably does. So far I have used a pentagram, star of david, cross and circle, all with similar results. I generally use the cross and circle as its easier to draw neater and neatness does seem to affect results.

Warning Note: I have experimented with very young children and some of the side effects, especially when working on moles and nevus in the head area, can be quite severe, even life threatening. Extremely high temperatures, above convulsion level, are the main threat. If you try this on children, they need carefully monitoring. Remove the ink and place them in a cool bath asap, while you wait for the ambulance. If the temp is related to the ink, they will recover in minutes. Extreme nausea and vomiting are also fairly common in children, sometimes within seconds of applying the ink. This depends, of course, on the type of blemish and where it is. Again, the head and neck area

I couldn't find the method in any of the articles either, maybe I'm looking in the wrong place.  Anyway, just in case, I'm pasting below a copy I dug up from my own files for your info...

MOLE REMOVAL TECHNIQUE
(The Original Article)

by

Robert Bruce
©Copyright 1993
(All rights preserved in Akashic Records:)

Author's note: Following is a vintage article I came across today. I originally wrote this around 1988 and handed it out to volunteers, in person and on the net, in 1993. Anyway, as per a couple of recent forum requests, here it is. Its clear and to the point. Note the article on the end, written by a volunteer about some of his experiences with the mole removal method. I have removed hundreds of moles, freckles, nevus etc, in this way over the last fifteen years, mainly from friends and family, etc. It has roughly a 70% success rating. It does not appear to work on warts, although I have only ever tried it on a couple, so data is inconclusive there. I have also had success with many other types of lumps and cysts, nevus, freckles and etc. I have also removed lumps and moles from several dogs. Of interest, they usually experienced the same side effects as humans. RB.

"Mole Removal Method"

Take a blue or black ball point pen. Draw a circle around the target mole, approximately 2.5 times the size of it.

In this circle draw a cross( + ) not a crucifix type but an equal cross. This must touch the circle at all 4 points.

Keep the centre of the cross as near as possible to the centre of the mole, and yes, you do have to draw over the mole, even if it is of the raised type.

Note: groups of very small moles and freckles, etc, can be included in a larger circle/cross.

Keep diagrams as neat as possible. The lines must be clear and distinct, but not overly thick. Replace as necessary, as they wear or wash off.

Wash the area of skin first to remove skin oils and make the skin easier to draw on.

This method either causes interference with the moles energy supply or focuses the body's own healing energy to that point. Either way, this caused the majority of moles and some other types of skin blemishes to wither and die.

Please keep notes when you try this, dates, times, actions, health, side effects etc, and fwd to me. This will be invaluable for my research.

Physical side effects.

The most common side effects are nausea, stomach pains, vomiting, diarrhea and a general feeling of sickness, similar to stomach flu. In more rare cases this can cause anxiety, in varying degrees. All symptoms are worse at night, and in many cases only come on at night. Noticeable symptoms of varying degree occur in about 50% of volunteers, particularly when moles in the neck and head area are being removed.

Removal time: From two days upwards, with the average being one week. I have had the odd mole take a couple of months, and some dry and fall off in 2 days flat.

The mole will begin to dry out at some point during removal, it will change into something like a scab, or like loose skin caused by a burn. Every time you have a shower, scratch the mole and check for looseness, i.e., scratch it with your fingernail. When it starts to lift at the edge, try and peel it off. It will then bleed a bit and heal like any other wound. When it heals, it leaves a pure white scar, for several months. Then it will tan and blend in with the rest of your skin, leaving no scar at all.

Note: I have only seen one mole grow back do this. It was a classic large mole, on a woman's wrist, with a dark hair growing out of it, that she had had since early childhood. It grew back into a very pale area of slightly discolored skin, after twelve years. But its so faint, more like old scar tissue, that you could not really call it a mole.

Reading up on dermatology and moles makes good reading and gives you an understanding of the skin, the nervous layer under it, and how moles spread roots into this layer, feed on blood and drop waste products into the blood; much like parasites. A mole usually only becomes dangerous when its blood, food supply is restricted.

Note: every mole has the potential to kill it's host, i.e., it can become a skin cancer. But if you get rid of all moles your chances of getting skin cancer are greatly reduced, logically.

-------------------------

Author's note: The following article was written for me by one of my early volunteers, a young man with significant entity problems. This was not just an attempt to remove moles and skin blemishes, but to stop psychic attacks and interference, etc. RB.

OBSERVATIONS ON THE PHYSICAL EFFECTS OF ETHERIC
INTERFERENCE CAUSED BY ASTRAL WILDLIFE

by James Bartlett
Supervised by Robert Bruce
Copyright (C) 18 Jan 1995

We are surrounded all the time by a wealth of wildlife which takes no physical form. These animals are described as astral creatures. They exist as a conscious expression of energy in realms distinct from our own physcial world. Just like our own animal kingdom, the inhabitants are driven by the need for survival. The search for food is a paramount concern. A rich source of nutrition is the human energy system. The suitable food-stuff is etheric matter which has been formed by negative
emotions and unhappy past experiences. This material is archived away in hot-spots within our energy patterns.

In this article I shall present some of the most significant physical symptoms which have arisen as a result of damage to my own etheric shell caused by astral creatures.

There are two fundamental physical effects, firstly temperature
discontinuities over the body surface and secondly lumps and moles in the epidermal layer. I shall discuss the latter of these conditions. The observations below are dated to give the reader a feel for the time scale involved.

June 1995

I had been working with the tactile imaging technique for about a
fortnight, drawing energy through secondary chakras to cleanse and stimulate activity. I had spent the evening loading boxes of books and folders in to the car ready to move home at the end of the college year.

I noticed discomfort in my right elbow. Whilst massaging the muscles around the joint I found two lumps deep within the muscle tissue of the tricep, on the inside of the arm 2cm above the joint. The lumps were 2cm apart. Both these lumps disappeared within 3 weeks without any treatment.

At this time I also became acutely aware of a tiny cist on my left lower back aligned with the upper edge of my pelvic girdle. I had been vaguely aware that it was there for many years and so I could not understand my sudden pre-occupation with it at this time. Even thought Robert had quizzed me about possible lumps or moles, I had not realised the significance of this cist.

Early October 1995

The importance of the cist finally dawned on me. Robert told me to draw a circle containing a cross around this lump. Within a few minutes of doing this, I began to feel dizzy and sick. I was never actually physically sick, but sat on the threshold, not knowing whether or not it was going
to happen!

Robert explained that the lumps resulted from an attachment point. Threads of etheric matter eminate from these areas. These threads provide the means by which the creatures connect to humans.

I found that the sickness could be avoided by the use of energy
programming. Numerous repitition of the silent mantra, 'Break threads of energy connecting my body to astral creatures.' The sickness stopped after 1 hour of working with this program, and it has only ever returned once since.

By the 18 October this lump had shrunk to perhaps half its initial size. Then it seemed to stop healing.

At this time, I noticed another smaller lump had appeared 3cm to the left of the first and 1cm below. There was also one 10cm up from the top edge of the pelvic girdle, just to the left of left of the spine. It is hard to know if these represented new connections, or merely connections that had been 'pulled' away from the body surface, causing new lumps.

During the two weeks that followed, the lumps seemed to swell up and then shrink away. The initial cist became sore and a scab formed over it.

15 November 1995

A lump appeared on the right lower back, mirroring the position of the newer one on the left lower back. One also appeared at the base of the skull, but this disspeared within a week.

20 November 1995

I found a lump on the top of my right forearm. This was also of the stubborn cist variety. I vaguely remember seeing it in the summer, but thought it was an insect bite at the time. I noticed a large dark mole on my upper back between my shoulder blades. This is again something that had been there since I was a child, but because of the awkward position, I had forgotten it was there. I marked it, and it too shrank to half its original size within 2 weeks.

25 November 1995

The two biggest lumps (left lower back and right forearm) had begun to flake, with dry skin peeling off. A white, bleeding sore also appeared inside my mouth, 2cm from the right hand end of my lower lip, about 1.5cm down from the lip. This disappeared without treatment, after about 3 weeks.

10 Janaury 1996

I had stopped using the circles for a few weeks simply becuase there was no further improvement. The sickness had gone completely but the lumps weren't on average getting any bigger or any smaller. The lump on my right arm was the only one still flaking. It seemed to be in a cyclic process of drying out and flaking, and then swelling up slightly, ready to repeat the
process.

At this time I was juice fasting. I replaced all the circles, only using a black pen this time not blue. Within an hour, the lump on my arm had stopped peeling.

11 January 1996

The mole between my shoulder blades flared up and started to weep fluid. The sore on the inside of my lower lip also reappeared and started to bleed. Both of these had calmed down within a week of ending the juice fast. The lower lip sore once again disappeared competely.

28 January 1996

Having worked for several weeks now on the concept and meaning of unconditional love, I have come round to addressing the nature of the areas within me that provide sites for attachment. I have started working with the program, 'Soak attachment points in love'. Through this I want to purge the darkest areas of my psyche which are being used for connection. I only started with it today so I don't know what the effects
are going to be!

Hi,

I used the method about a year ago.  It removes flat moles, raised moles, colourless moles, moles with hair growing out of them, and gristly type lumps under the skin (haven't tried it on warts - don't have any).  It does NOT remove ordinary freckles (tried it) probably because freckles are a natural defence mechanism of the body to protect a sensitive fair skin against the sun.

Cheers,
Julia

Hello David,

The last incident happened around 4-5 months ago.  The child stayed in the distance and was shadowy so I couldn't make out any features, though from the clothes I assumed it was a boy.  I'd estimate his age at around 10 maybe, but again, it was difficult to tell.

Interesting!  I have seen this guy a couple of times during low-powered spontaneous OBEs while floating near my bed, but never when I'm in full OBE.  In the past I was really gun-shy about meeting ANY kind of entity and would be overcome with fear and force myself awake.  The last time I saw him (some time ago) I had gotten rid of my fears and so was interested to know who he was.  I had just become aware while lying in my bed.  My astral body was still inside my physical and I saw him standing off to the left side in the distance as just a shadowy figure since a low-powered OBE doesn't give me good vision.  He is tall and slim with a long cowboy type coat (unbuttoned) and a hat.  He was accompanied by a child.  They seemed to be just standing there observing me and talking to each other or something.  When they noticed that I was aware of them, the man started walking towards me.  I didn't have much energy but managed to lift my upper body out and extend my arm to shake his hand and introduced myself.  Before I could touch him, however, I bounced back into my body and woke up.

I felt no negativity from this man at all but no real friendliness either - he seems just neutral.  I have no idea who he is.  I didn't wonder too much about him tho as I  thought maybe I had just been creating this image of him from my own mind because he looks so much like something out of a movie  - real type-cast!  But if others have seen him, well... that's interesting.

He has never appeared since then, but since as I said, I felt no intent of harm coming from this person, I would be interested to hear if anyone gets the opportunity to talk to him and find out who he is and what he is trying to do.

Hello again rodentmouse,

Observe your thoughts.  What does that mean?  You know sometimes when you are forced into inactivity (usually boring) when you are in a waiting room or sitting somewhere quietly where you have nothing to do so your thoughts just roam around?  Try to watch where they go.  Mostly they will be influenced by your surroundings which remind you of something that sets a train of thoughts going which reminds you of something else and so on.  It is pretty much uncontrolled and if you sit back after and try to remember what started you thinking about what you ended up with, it will be something totally different from your beginning thought.   This is just uncontrolled thinking.   If you want to observe your thoughts you have to watch where they go and how they got there.  Try to stop yourself after a while and trace back the train of thought through to its beginning.  For example, you are sitting in a train going to work and you see a house where a motorbike is sitting outside and you think well "I wouldn't leave that bike out there where anyone can steal it"  then you think "I must check that rusted lock on my window because someone could break in"  and that leads to the thought that the last time you looked out that window you saw the girl across the road hanging out the washing and she had a really nice butt and so you thought that your butt was getting a bit flabby so that brought you to the thought that you need to loose a few kilos, then you thought that you must watch what you eat, "oh yes, when I go shopping, I must remember to get milk",  "so what really is happening with this mad cow disease anyway?"  -  See what I mean?  Uncontrolled thoughts just continue on by association.  They travel on by themselves.  The trick in the beginning is to observe them and to be able to track where they go and where they came from.  If you get totally involved in the "train" you lose the thread and lose that "observer" viewpoint where you can see where the train started from, how it progressed, and how it ended up.

It is a really good exercise that whenever you are doing something mundane like getting ready for work, travelling in a car, taking a shower or whatever, that you try to see where your thoughts go.   That's what I mean by observing your thoughts.   If you can't remember how you got to where you are thinking now, you have a problem - you are not observing.

Concentration exercises don't just begin and end at that 5 minutes you set aside for your program.  This is a life-long exercise in training your mind.  The most important step is to know that you have thoughts.  Then you have to realize that you can control them.  And the most important time that you must control them is when they become negative.  Whether that is on negative thoughts about the guy who just cut in front of you in traffic, or the dog that is barking across the road and keeping you awake, or your thoughts about how you are so useless at concentration exercises.

When you become aware of your thoughts you are capable of doing something about them.  You can stop yourself from negative thoughts and turn them into something positive.  This is absolutely imperative.  The ability to control and focus your thoughts is the very foundation for any kind of spiritual advancement you set your sights on whether that be expanding your consciousness through astral projection, or following a path like IIH as Joe mentioned.

Yes, Joe, I have read IIH.  All that I can tell you is that persistence gets results.  Don't force yourself.  Don't get upset if you don't seem to be progressing.  When I first started the concentration exercises, what worked for me was the gentle method of whenever I got distracted to just note that I was distracted, then pull myself back - again, and again, and again.    Mostly, I don't count how many distractions I get while doing the exercises, but I just go with it for the alloted time and keep refocusing on my objective.  If you are trying for the vacancy of mind exercises where you have nothing to focus on, what I do is to just feel myself sitting there looking at the back of my eyelids and imagining any thought that pops in as slowly sliding away then concentrating back on this person just sitting there quietly.  Everyone has a different method but this is what works for me.  Whenever a thought enters I just let it slide away and refocus my attention on ... what?  At first it was my breath, then I let go of that and then it was just a nice serene blank.  I don't know how to describe it but it does come eventually after a lot of practice.  That is why I need a timer because when you get to that place of stillness you lose track of time and the time goes in an instant.

Anyway, I think that I have fallen into that trap of people who get somewhere and forget how they got there and then are not able to explain it to others to help them get there too.  Does this make sense?

All I can say is practice, practice, practice... this is the only way!  And you WILL get there in the end I promise you.  If I could do it, ANYONE can!  Hey, I'm just a housewife!

Hello Rodentmouse,

Concentration is hard at first because your mind has spent a lifetime controlling the show and doesn't like to be told what to do.   It especially hates to be told to shut up and so will give you its opinion on everything whenever possible, even just to tell you that you are trying not to think.

A good way to start is to just sit for 5 minutes (use an egg timer or something with an alarm) and observe your thoughts.  Don't try to push anything away, but be the watcher.  This distances yourself from your thoughts.  Everytime you find yourself getting involved in a train of thought and forget that you were supposed to be watching yourself, gently pull yourself back and observe again.  Keep this up for the full 5 min session.  After a while you will notice that just by observing your thoughts they will naturally slow down on their own.

Once you get to the stage that you can watch your thoughts without forgetting yourself for 5 mins, start a new exercise where you keep just one idea or thought in your mind.  Keep all of your thoughts for the 5 mins on only this one subject without digressing.  You are now progressing from just a passive observer to taking some kind of control.  If you find your thoughts flowing onto some other subject by association, don't get upset, but just note your lapse, then gently bring yourself back to the subject YOU have chosen.

Once you are able to keep a single thought or idea in your head for 5 mins, progress to the next stage of total vacancy of mind.  With the preparatory exercises above, this should come a lot less painfully.  This exercise is also easier at first if you have something to concentrate on like your breathing.  Joe's suggestion of concentrating on the moving second hand of a clock is very good, because this is a mobile visual target which tends to hold your interest.  Again, if you find a word or idea popping into your head, just gently let go of the thought and bring yourself back by refocusing on your object of concentration.  You will find that after a while, you are able to go for longer and longer periods without anything bothering you and when a thought does try to enter, you will be able to bring yourself back quickly so that you are not distracted.   It is a real balancing act and needs a lot of practice and dedication.

If you have a song stuck in your head or any other "circular thoughts", break the loop by focusing on another thought or visual cue (such as the clock second-hand) but something of YOUR choosing.  After a while your mind is trained to be controlled by YOU.  It can be difficult to understand that you are thinking about what to think or what not to think, but it does make you realize that you and your thoughts or mind are separate things.

I hope you find this helpful.

Hi Lily,

I realize this is a legitimate question because sexual problems of all sorts arise on account of the its huge influence on humans and the distortions that have occured because of ignorance and misuse.

I would highly recommend that you read John Baines' The Science of Love (available thru Amazon.com) which is the Hermetic viewpoint of what love really is and what love is not (according to the common misconceptions and distortions in the world today). It is a very involved subject and not for the faint-hearted.  It can be quite an eye-opener and makes you realize that you must take responsiblity not only for your actions but also your thoughts.

Basically, during masturbation magnetic energy is lost, whereas with a partner, magnetic energy is exchanged and renewed.   Apart from the loss of energy, there is also the question of the thought forms that are created while fantasising during masturbation.  These magnetic or energetic thought forms can come back to haunt you as the incubus and succubus that you mention which will attach themselves to you and influence you during your sleep to create erotic dreams to stimulate you to orgasm and discharge your magnetic energy so that they can feed.  Total abstinence from sex can also cause a build-up of energy that will attract these creatures if you do not have a partner to discharge these energies (strange way of saying "making love" huh?), so you will have to find a way of sublimating sex with creativity and action (painting/music  sports/exercise ot etc).

Please read Robert's online article about resisting the negative forces in your life to get a good idea about what to do to prevent attachment of any kind of "neg" that you may have attracted to you.  Naturally, you must control your thoughts and prevent yourself from indulging in any kind of sexual fantasy that may feed these thought forms you have created, so they will starve and be forced to leave.

Again, I recommend that you order Baines' book, because education on the subject is the only real solution to prevention of these kinds of problems.

Some nice ideas there guys!  Just thought to mention that when first starting a group of newbies, they will need some kind of results pretty quickly to keep their interest going.  Make sure you remind them to continually raise energy throughout the day while performing routine tasks.  Just before trying out one of the fun exercises, have them do a full body circuit for at least 5 minutes (10 is better) to get charged up.

Start with simple exercises because the more advanced ones will get fewer positive results at first and you don't want to discourage people.  A hand placed "near" a person will often not be detected by a beginner, while placing the hand directly on their skin is more effective.  You can try this one out by placing your hand directly on the skin of their arm, leg, back etc and consciously directing energy into the person.  They will usually feel a tingle on their skin (some may feel heat - above the normal body temp. heat of the hand).  You can try this several times, sometimes directing energy and sometimes not - and have them guess when you are transmitting the energy.  Try this out on different parts of the body to see which are more sensitive.  This, like everything else, takes practice.  Some seem to be more sensitive than others.  My son feels the tingle of energy from my hand yet my daughter does not.

There is another exercise where you can get people to hold their hands about 20cms apart and bring them gradually together slightly "bouncing" in and out until they feel a kind of spongey pressure like two opposing magnets.  When they are able to feel this, get them to try it with another person, one hand each.

Another exercise is to have someone hold their hand out palm up, and place your hand about 2-3cms above theirs, then concentrate your energy into your palm, a circling or brushing action is good.  The other person may feel either tingling or heat.

Another good exercise was given by Romero on the forum a while back.  Cut a cross out of tin foil with the arms of the cross about 3 cms long.  Bend the arms down to a 30 - 40 deg. angle.  Stick an ordinary needle into an eraser so that it stands upright, then balance the foil cross on top of the needle.  There must be no draughts in the area and do NOT breath anywhere near the cross.  After balancing the cross on the needle, wait until it settles down and stops moving then cup your hands around the cross, close but without touching, and get your hands tingling with energy.  The cross will start rotating on its own.  With practice you can get it moving quite fast.  Again, success comes quicker with some people who seem to have a natural ability.  My daughter did this better than I did, but my son can only move it very slowly.

These are the most simple exercises that can be used to start with.  All of the above are best done at first with closed eyes so you can concentrate on the sensations.  Outside noises and distractions should be at a minimum.  Again, make sure that energy raising is done constantly, especially before trying any exercise, and remind them that even if the experiments fail at first, practice will get them there eventually.   Keep up the enthusiasm, make it fun for everyone, and they're less likely to lose interest before they get results.

To all you "weirdos" out there, don't worry, you're not weird, everyone else is for refusing to accept or even entertain the idea that there might be something different outside of their "normal" perceptions.  But have pity on them, it takes a lot of energy to keep your head buried in the sand.  Just remember that it can be very difficult for people to change a belief system that has been the basis for all their choices in life.  To accept just one new idea such as OBE or NEW means that they will have to start rethinking their lives, because, if you think about it, proof of a "greater reality" also holds the implication of personal responsibility and accountability.  This is just too much for most people to swallow.  Only the brave jump right in, explore and adjust.

I noticed a few people on this thread having problems controling their awareness hands.  What you need is to exercise them.  Robert gave a great example of "thinking" your awareness hands as if they were holding the pedals of a bycicle and rotating them.  Then try to stop and reverse the action.  At first you may find that your hands tend to want to keep going going in the same direction and refuse to stop.  If you are right handed you may find that your left will stop but your right keeps on turning on its own.  Only practice will get you slowly overcoming this "inertia" and in better control.

Try out several different actions that you can practice with your awareness hands but start with simple stuff like clapping your hands or raising and lowering your arms, then move on to "pat-a-cake" and contrary movements such as touching your nose with one hand while touching your knee with the other, then patting your head with one hand while making a circling rubbing motion on your stomach with the other (hard enough to do with your physical hands!).  The most difficult to control are repetitive rotating movements since your arms seem to get "locked in" to the motion. If I concentrate really hard I can get my hands to pedal contrariwise to each other.  Practice, practice, practice!

These can be fun exercises and you can get a lot of laughs out of feeling your hands flopping around all over the place, but it's very useful even if you no longer need awareness hands to move energy around your body.  As Donni said, it's good training for controling your astral body when you OBE (Donni, where are you luv?)
