Welcome to Out of Body Experiences! / Two Questions
November 16, 2002, 16:26:52
I have been trying HARD over the past week to have an astral projection, Jesus H. Christ it's tough. I've been doing energy work for the lesser part of two years now, by energy work I mean daily NEW exercises and occasional meditation, but my interest in it started to wane after first hearing about it. With the end of the cross country season, a large amount of time that was spent running hard and running slow and running fast and all that jazz has been made available, which could explain my increased interest.

Anyway, my first question relates to the act of projecting itself: While projecting, I have been able to enter into a light trance quickly and easily, but my problem lies in maintaining the proper focus and concentration to "climb the rope". I begin to climb, and start to feel my astral body loosen, with some accompanying light vibrations, but then the surface thoughts rear their ugly heads and I become distracted and lose it;by that point I am usually so frustrated that I decide any further effort would be for naught. Does anybody have any suggestions on exercises/training I could do to improve my focus?

My second question does not relate to projection so much as spiritual development. What are the ramifications and effects of pornography and masturbation on a person's spiritual/energy development and how can one kick such a habit/addiction? I know that Mantak Chia has said that each time a person ejaculates they lose a large portion of their life energy that can never be regained, but, with all due respect, I believe this to more or less be bovine excrement. Just take a look at Hugh Hefner :)
Thanks.

I've been using NEW for about a year now, and I've noticed that whenever I raise energy, I sometimes tend to get drowsy, and feel like taking a nap.  What's even stranger though, is that when I project energy (in a prayer to heal somebody, for example) I feel invigorated and full of energy.  It seems to me that I should get drowsy when I project and invigorated when I raise energy. Any thoughts?

Has anybody ever woken up with cuts that may be the result of a neg attack? For example, just last night before I went to sleep, I took a shower, and don't remember seeing ANY cuts on my body, which I would have probably noticed. Just this morning, however, as I was changing, I noticed that there were 3 small cuts near my spleen chakra and 4 more on my left side.. what's strange is that they don't hurt at all when I put pressure on them, but they are very visible. Comments?

My ability to see auras has been improving recently, and I can now see most etheric bodies in humans quite clearly, and I'm beginning to see more of the actual aura.
Whenever I look at a person's aura though, the strongest part of the aura seems to be coming out of the person's shoulders. Has anybody else encountered this? Is there something significant about the shoulders?

I just stumbled upon this, and found it fascinating.

I've been doing NEW for quite awhile now, and could always feel the energy coursing through my body. Recently, however, I have been feeling the energy less and less; it's now down to the point where I can barely feel it, except when my chakras are very active. How can I fix this?

As an addition to the whole sex = energy topic, I just finished reading the book 1984, and in it, sex is frowned upon and repressed for the purpose of focusing one's entire energies on serving "Big Brother", as the totalitarian government in that book is called.  Now that I think about, when I have abstained from sex or masturbation, I have noticed definite increases in my energy level, so I suppose that abstaining from any sexual activity, or, perhaps some kind of tantra, would be in one's best interest if they wished to pursue enlightenment. I wonder what Robert would have to say about all of this?

By the way, I recently purchased Astral Dynamics, and I most highly recommend it to anybody who is interested in OBE; the thing is practically an astral traveller's bible.

Welcome to Out of Body Experiences! / Two Questions

I was just practicing the rope technique a couple hours ago after having a long swim, and I achieved the much-talked about point where my heart chakra was pumping away like crazy.. I felt really light, had some minor vibes (I don't really feel that many vibes any more or pay much attention to them since I do so much energy work), and I could swear that I was on the edge of projection. I think I must be pretty damn close to getting it right. Once again, thanks for all the info/support.

Thanks for all the responses. Allow me to expand upon my first question a little further. When I start to "climb the rope", my vision is dark, as if my eyes were closed normally. However, as I climb higher and higher and my astral body loosens, my vision gradually turns lighter and lighter until I see white, and my body feels very light (no vertigo/vibrations, however). It is at this point I run out of mental juice, and my concentration starts to wander from climbing the rope. I also have difficulties in NOT visualizing the rope; I guess I'm a pretty visual person, since I can close my eyes and see anything I want to if I concentrate hard enough.

So, does anybody have any tips on how to climb the rope, or how to go about imagining it? I usually imagine a rope dangling in front of me, but I have also imagined the end of the rope being attached to my solar plexus chakra and climbing up it as if I were climbing a 45 degree slope, but I haven't had too much success with the latter. Please note that so far, all my attempts have been while sitting down. Thanks again.

Which technique did you use?
I sometimes bring energy up through my legs, but mostly I just stimulate the root chakra with a rubbing of the awareness hands, the breadroll ripping helps for me as well. It sounds like you might have too much energy in your head, or perhaps a chakra imbalance. Whatever I do when this occurs is to work on the least responsive chakras, or even bring energy down from my head into my dan tien. I also read somewhere that you can imagine the energy drifting away into the wind from the top of your head like pollen from a flower.. I haven't tried that though.

Now I'm feeling a lot of pressure in my head, to the point where I feel like I have a headache.
Whenever I have a headache, I usually do one of three things. First, I imagine the headache as a big blob of dark energy in my head, and I visualize it shrinking and losing power. If that doesn't work, I will massage my head with awareness hands and concentrate on relaxing. Finally, if that doesn't work, I will use something called EFT, which stands for Emotional Freedom Technique. Check www.emofree.com if you want to learn how to use it; by the way, EFT works on pretty much ANY problem you might have, emotionally or physically, it's very powerful, and easy to learn. You can download the EFT manual for free.

What I've found to always work for me, if the pressure is localized around the third eye area, is to focus on the root chakra. Sometimes I get headaches due to an overactive third eye, so I just draw energy into the root chakra and stimulate it, and the sensation (and the headaches) goes away.

I have been practicing NEW for about a year now, and whenever I raise energy normally, I almost NEVER get strong sensations.. I am subtly aware of the energy moving through my lims, and through my body, but that's about it. However, if I concentrate 100% on the energy, and apply mental "force" to it, I find that I can feel the energy much more, and when I raise energy this way, I become very energized and upbeat.

I think that, at times, I inadvertently drain people; I've noticed this whenever I raise energy (I do this all the time), sometimes people around me start to cough and they become tired. I always send energy back at them, and the symptoms seem to go away, but I would like to be able to raise/manipulate energy around others without negatively affecting them. Any suggestions?

Psi balls can actually be used for all sorts of things; for example, you can create a psi ball out of healing energy, then mentally "send" it to the person that you wish to heal. However, I've just found that it's more effective (and simpler) to simply send the energy out through more conventional methods.

My first OBE was when I was around 13.. I had just woken up, because my alarm had gone off on a saturday morning at 6:30 AM  (I had forgotten to turn it off).
Needless to say, I was quite tired, and slowly began to completely relax and drift off, when I suddenly became aware that I was floating over my bed. Quite a strange experience, to say the least! Anyway, I floated around my room for about six or seven seconds, but became so excited that I ended the projection and re-entered my body.
That was my first projection, and I haven't been able to have another one since, although a few nights ago I got VERY close until I was interrupted by my dog barking. I'll get it soon though :)

Yes, I used to have that problem too, except the energy was mostly centered around my third eye. I simply did more energy work with my root chakra, and the feelings went away.
Your third eye/crown chakra may be more energized than all your others, which can cause strong sensations at that particular spot (at least in my experience).

I remember having a large attachment right at my root chakra, which manifested itself as a large mole. Every day for 2 months, I moved energy through the spot, and one bright afternoon as I was doing energy work, I suddenly felt an explosion of energy in my root chakra. When I looked down there that night, the mole was gone, and hasn't been back since :).

Check out this site about Coordinate Remote Viewing(CRV). They even have the government published guide on the levels of skill and how to do it.

I have been using NEW for about a year and a half now, and I'm at the point where I no longer use my awareness hands to move energy, with one exception: Whenever I am in pain, or I have an injury, I imagine my awareness hands rubbing the spot, and more often than not, the pain goes away, but tends to come back when I stop rubbing. I had surgery on my appendix about a month and a half ago, and the incision is almost completely gone, because I have been using NEW on it every night. In fact, the day after surgery, I could walk around with a bit of difficulty, but I doubt that I would have been able to do that if it weren't for NEW.
