Oh so it was your 3rd eye not crown? Then I've never had that happen :-) That must have been pretty strange.

Thanks!

:-D Right now I am only selling on ebay and my listings are done under the name Rivera so if you ever want to look at them you can search that way. I don't have anything up right now--go figure this is the first time in 2 months that I haven't had one up--but I should by next week since I'm currently working on a larger watercolor.

I have. Cool isn't it? Ha ha!

The first time I had this happen was when helping my husband with his back problems and the second during a non-healing event in which I was trying to request the ability of a certain rune from its corresponding god. When things like that happen, that's when you know that you have really tapped into it and not just your personal energy, but IT. You will probably find that it begins to happen more and more from here on out.

I've heard that the whole Reiki thing is quite different in my home country of Japan than here in the U.S. But here's what I understand about why people do things the way they do here:

Initiation is not neccessarily needed to be successful, but like in so many occult or energy working traditions, you have to be "attuned" to certain energies. Energy itself is in everything and all around you, but there are many sub-energies, I can call them that. These are specific energies from specific entities, stars, places in the galaxy or of divine manifestation. Not all energies are available freely--some are earned or are meant for certain people whose lives are ripe for that particular energy. Thus people have a better chance of being fluent in that energy if they have been initiated into it. Sometimes spiritual beings can come to you and choose you for such initiations bypassing human means (they tend to do a better job, too)     Some people who practice Reiki do not believe that Reiki enrgy is a specific energy and if that is the case then I don't understand the need to initiate beyond the fact that it is good for the subconcsious.

Now with the money, there is a school of thought that in order to get something, there has to be an exchange of energy. This is usually said to come about in Reiki because of the story of Dr. Usui having gone back to Japan and worked in the Korean slums healing people. The story goes that he healed for free but the people would not change their habits after being healed, therefore they would be back to him again as sick as before because they did not help themselves or change the very habits that caused the sickness. Now, I have a problem with the logic of this story because I doubt that a very smart man such as Dr. Usui was said to be, would go to a Korean slum (as there is in Yokohama, Japan) and look around at the wooden shacks that these poor people live in while sitting in the piles of their own filth, in the middle of a downtown area where they sleep in flooded sewer water and urine and think, "Hey, I'm going to heal these people and they won't get sick again." Somehow...that doesn't seem very bright. But, as the story goes, he realized that these people took his healing for granted because they did not have to pay or work for it. Then he started charging.

That's why a lot of people charge exorbitant amounts of money for EVERYTHING they do. Personally, if we are trying to enlighten ourselves and be of service to mankind, charging more than we need to get by is plain shady.  :|

Oh no, I'm sorry to hear that it didn't work for you. Don't give up after going to one professional--unfortunately my experience in the metaphysical has shown me that a lot of "professionals" really aren't that professional. They prey on the knowledge that people don't know what they are supposed to do--I'm not saying that is what happened to you, just that what you have relayed sounds kind of strange if you went to a shamanic healer.

As for meditation, I know that for myself, I don't accomplish anything in breathwork or meditations where I am guided by a book or a CD. If you want, maybe try to relax for about 25 minutes, then when you feel you are deep enough, imagine a door and ask that the door bring you to a place of healing where healing spirits and entities can help you. You may have to try a few times, but taking a more active approach to meditation can really have some profound effects. This is how I do all my work on myself and I haven't been to the doctors in 8 years. It takes practice but it is really worth the effort.

Either way, I wish you luck. And if I have your permission, I will ask my healer spirit ally to help you--if not heal you, then to lead you to find what you need to heal yourself.  :-)

Lot of good links in that list there. Crystalinks has always been a favorite.  :-D I really recommend that you meet spirit guides before talking to psychics that way you aren't influenced into seeing anything unintentionally.

The first guide I met came to me in a dream, only I didn't realize it was a guide. I was in a very dark time spiritually because I left my religion after believing it with my whole heart for 10 years. In the dream, there were cliffs beside the sea and all was foggy. It was night and the stars were out. I was walking along the beach and through the mist, a man came out to meet me. He had on a grey cloak and th ehood covered his face. He held a staff. I woke up, wrote down the dream and forgot all about it. Some months later, I tried my first actual meditation. I ended up having a mystical experience in which I was taken to a place (sorry, I can't give details) and woman was there waiting for me. She "initiated me" and told me to look around and "create" the place. I did. Then suddenly I physically felt a note in my hand but I knew if I opened my eyes it would all be gone. So in the meditation I looked at the note and it read: "Sorry I wasn't there for you--meet you next time."  On the way back out of the meditation, I passed through a door in a wood, and there were many hooded figures. I got the sense that one of them, closest to the door was somehow "mine". He spoke to me and I knew he was an old man. At that time I knew nothing and went online to do some research. I realized I had met my "gatekeeper". Recently I had a psychic do a drawing of him for me for personal conformation (as I have since, seen his face) and she was dead on with EVERYTHING.

The guide who wrote the note was there next time and I worked very closely with him for a few months. He got back my belief in things I lost beliefe in and he is very special to me. His last incarnation was in the Battle of Brunanburgh which he said was around the 10th century. I looked it up online and it was 934 a.d. He was scottish and he said, "You won't find my name connected to the battle--I'm forgotten now." I don't see him much anymore.

I also have a Native American guide who won't give me his real name and he doesn't give psychics his real name either. He helps me learn about herbs and healing. There is also a satyr I aquired as a "fairy guide" when I decided to do some Journeys with a more celtic flavor (yes I knwo satyrs aren't Celtic but I got what I got and I can't do anything abou that). He's very tricky and tried to make me think he was Asmodeus until my power animal that is a Jaguar told me he was lying. The guide I work closest with is a woman named Charlotte. That isn't her real name but is what I've come to call her. I have other spirit allys but I sought them out so I won't list them.

My angel's name is Methu'el or something of the sort and he has told me that he helps me learn occult knowledge because at this time it is vital to my spiritual growth. I realized that the first time I met him was in physical form about 3 years ago when I was working at a church. My car ran out of gas on a very busy intersection. I remember saying, "God, help me," and a man was suddenly at my window. I told him what was wrong and he told me to move the car. I tried to explain to him that I couldn't--it wouldn't even budge. He smiled and said, "No--I think you should try again." He got into his car which was behind mine and followed me to a gas station to make sure I got there okay (yes, the care drove the whole way--it was a few blocks) and I got out at a pump. He pulled to the side of my car and asked, "You got it from here?" I nodded and turned to get the pump. I turned around to say thanks before he drove away, but both him and the car were gone.

Sorry so long!

On about.com there is an interview with a man who leads workshops. He claims to have moved a box at a workshop a few states away while OOB. I've also heard that you can manipulate objects up to 3 oz. in weight. I was at a psychic fair last year and heard a young man relay that he would often get up at night to go to the bathroom and flip the lights on only to try to open the door and realize he couldn't because he was out of body. I don't know first hand because I haven't gotten out yet.  :-) But yes, I've heard this is possible.

If he really is doing for spiritual reasons, think of how much willpower that must take? I don't know anyone that would do that--my husband did a 21 day once, but he would never do it until he died! But there are cases of this in Japan's history and in Tibet. For those people it was not a sad case at all, but instead, they believed they were sacrificing themselves for the good of their community. Some believe that they can do more to help mankind in spirit than in body and, well, since all we really know of the universe is what we percieve, I for one can't say that they were foolish or wrong or what God told them. I give my right leg to have that much determination and willpower. Okay, well, not really, but I guess that's the point.  :-D

Welcome to the Healing place! / Re: Greetings.

Hi there. Everyone else seemed to tell you to go to a doctor--since you have done that, I'll say the opposite.  :-) Sometimes you can't heal yourself because you haven't aquired the skills. Its hard to realize that--but don't be afraid to go to a healing center. You did meth and from my experience, people who overdo meth end up attracting some bad "visitors". Everyone has probably told you that drugs invite low level entities, but I'm telling you meth is one that I've noticed REALLY does. Actually a friend of mine has an uncle that just this past weekend got admitted and he is a big meth user. And the things that went on with him sound like what is going on with you.

Now, you live out west, yeah? I'm asking because what you describe with the voices sounds like one of two things. 1) Actual spirits or elemental entities, the mischevious kind. There are numerous ways in which they could effect the human energy system including, spirit obsession, spirit intrusion, shadowing, spirit attachment and, the one everyone knows, possession. But you don't sound possessed, thank God.  :-) 2) Drugs tend to oppress an aspect of your subconscious known as the shadow. If you aren't familiar with psychology or shamanism, the shadow is a part of you that is all the stored up fear, anger, hurt and resentment that has not gotten delt with in a healthy manner. What's worse is that modern medicine only represses things like depression and the like which makes the shadow even bigger of an oponent to deal with...so, and this is just my opinion, I would strongly suggest a metaphysical healer or a councelor/psychiatrist who will help you deal with repressed emotions. You see this in your heart region with your inability to love, yes? I'll get to that in a moment but first, I asked to the "out west" thing because there are some excellent places you can go if you are willing to drive a ways. I would really recommend going to a shamanic practitioner because they can deal with both spirit issues, energy issues and shadow work. The last I checked, there were several around you in the LA area--just google it and see what you find. If you want to read up on the subject, I actually would recommend a book that is a little non-traditional. It is The Temple of Shamanic Witchcraft by Christopher Penczak and has some excellent explanations.

Now with the heart and love thing, it sounds like there was always an issue there with healthy boundaries. When a chakra is not working properly, be it over expanded or unopened, the issue can be complete polar opposites like what you described. With the 4th chakra those opposites would be love without healthy boundaries and switching to nothing but fear. Some medications worsen this (I'm not saying throw your meds away--that's why you should see a healer) because drugs, no matter what kind, are meant to alter our conditions. When you take in a substance into your body that is stronger than, say, your usual garden grown herb, these things manipulate your energy throw them off balance. What kind of meditation are you trying, if I may ask? Some people will have you to believe that they all produce the same effects but this is not so.

Also, have you ever tried any purification rituals? Burning sage is well known. Also "asperging" with hyssop while repeating a psalm. There are numerous cleansing bath goodies sold online as well.

Welcome to Dreams! / Re: Can anyone help???
June 07, 2007, 15:45:20
Sorry, I know that this post was made a while ago. I thought I would reply in case you still wanted someone's opinion  :-) The interpretations won't be very good if there were many more details, like colors, how bright it was, etc. So I'll work with what you already posted.

Dream 1: Around this time you may have been turning your attention to more spiritual matters, persuing to "climb higher", maybe not in an active sense since it was your back yard and not your front. Maybe spirituality was in your thoughts more. This dream is simply saying either you are keeping yourself from "reaching the top" (what you want spiritually) or that you have somehow fallen off. But you never hit the ground so that probably means that whatever obstacle there is, has not brought you back to square one spiritually.

Dream 2: Your voice wasn't being heard. Skulls are obviously linked with death, so there may have been a hopeless situation in which someone was trying to get through to you or you were trying to get through to someone else, be it a friend or a whole group of people like at work or something. Everytime the mouth opens, it screams (something done to be heard or to blow off steam or fear) and another hopeless situation comes out of it. Does that make sense?

Dream 3: Baby usually can be thought of as innocence--this is furthered by that fact that you described her as beautiful. This dream my be symbolizing that you were trying to "communicate" with your innocence. Sinse it was a female, that could mean a need to get in touch with spirituality, magic, dreams, intuition, or a more maternal instict (like loyalty to people). But you, your middle self, wasn't able to follow through in your transaction. This dreams seems like it was expressing a frustration or worry that you had somehow lost your innocence in an area of your life.

Again, don't know how on this will be because of limited information. But I hope this helps.

Hi Sorrow,

I left church because of the same kind of fears but I did a lot of searching and researching and found out I really didn't need to. My dad is a pastor and he's been very cool about remaining open to my search and has actually learned to open his mind more. Now to get back to the point--read the experiences of the prophets. They often say, "I was taken in spirit". People kind of argue about what that means and many say that means Holy Spirit. In the New Testement, the Holy Spirit is something recieved, not a vehicle, therefore it seems reasonable to think that they mean their spirit. They were taken in their spirits only. That's AP. I can't remember where it is, if it is NT or OT, or even who said it, but if you have a good concordance, (I think it MAY have been Paul) there is a passage in which one of the men says that before he had a certain vision, he felt he was taken either out of the top of his head or out his toe...something like that. Don't quote me on that until you find it--I really can't remember where it is.

Since Christianity feels it is the daughter religion of Judaism, there really is no reason to dismiss AP. Some sects of Jews believed in 7 souls and that several of them left the body at night. But I understand that a lot of what the Jews believed about the human soul and about existence has been lost to Christianity (I was a fundamentalist for 10 years and I never knew they had beliefs that were so different!). I hope your dad is tolerant of what you want to do--mine wasn't at first. Just keep in mind your reasons for doing it--if you really are trying to further your relationship to God and the universe, then there is nothing wrong. If you are doing it just to do it, or doing it for fun, there is still nothing wrong unless you FEEL like you are compromising your faith. Does that make sense? Good luck!

Yes, this could be true. It can be a number of things (if in the spiritual and not physical) ranging from a full fledge spirit to a trickster entity--or you might be experiencing clairolfaction: psychic smell. Sometimes if there is a person you are very strongly connected to, whether willingly or karmically, you can smell the things they smell even though they are a hundred miles away. Other times scents come as premonitions.

Definitely--that's really all I do, except I sit up. I can't get into an altered state using any of the countdown, breathing methods I've learned so I do exactly what you described. You will probably have to give it about 25 - 40 minutes and keep in mind that, if you are trying to have mystical visions or journey, laying on your back, facing up, will put a different spin on things then laying on your stomach will. Sitting up is pretty nuetral, though. At least, this is what I've noticed.  :-)

Hi! I'm 26 and live in Columbus, Ohio with my husband. I'm an artist and sell fantasy art, some of which is available online. I also write fiction and play music with my husband.  :-)

I haven't been able to project yet, though I am trying. I have a deep interest in the occult that resulted from an experience I had in an old farmhouse my family lived in when I was four. I've been "followed" by spirits ever since--or at least it seemed that way to my family and I. I'm also a very spiritual person and I left my church two and a half years ago because of a decision that I wanted to know God for myself, not because of something I believe that someone else experienced. (Please note that I have nothing against church or people who don't "do it my way". I was just doing something that I felt I needed to do at the time). I went through a long period of inner turmoil and a "dark night of the soul" of sorts and in April of last year I decided to give meditation a try. It ended up being a very intense mystical experience in which I met my guides and other entities without asking for them--I've never heard of this happening to anyone else so I'd like to hear from anyone who has had their guides pop up unnanounced.  :-) Since then I've discovered that I possess a fair amount of clairvoyance, clairsentinence (I grew up knowing I could sense things), and that I have a decent ability as a medium. Currently my head can be found stuffed in books on shamanism and ceremonial magic as well. I've been decent at lucid dreaming and now would like to move on to astral projection.

Looking forward to all the info here!

Hi, I'm new too  :-).

Is your friend okay with you trying? Because if so, go for it. Otherwise, I agree with TalaNay. When you start getting into these things it is really necessary to understand that everyone isn't going to believe you and that it is okay if they don't. Not everyone is supposed to. I don't have any friends who can do these things or who even really care to do them--so I'm on the crazy boat too.  :-D

But I'll tell you what I do--this is assuming you are able to become lucid. When you are lucid and are sure you won't wake up, call up a door in front of you. Then write the name of your friend on the door and "call" him or her. Kind of wait a moment until you sense them, or try to tune into them. Then when you open the door and step through, you should be able to find them. The whole thing should take at least 2 minutes because you have to make sure you really are tuned into their dream. Of course you might have to try a few times and it all depends on whether or not your friend has good recall. Oh, and you might want to keep this in mind: this is called Dream Walking and some people consider it dangerous. I don't, but some do. Hope this helps you!
