yeah it is different for everyone.
i have melatonin for non-sleepy times, and i've found that i've had lucid dreams (tho that's normal for me most nights) and recall has been fine.
the tablets i have are very small,i can't remember off the top of my head how many mgs in each, and i take no more than 2 or 3 at a time.
also i feel no grogginess in the morning.

i've tried a number of different sleeping aids in the past - man made and herbal, and i've found most of them unsatisfactory, especially if i want to meditate before bed or have full dream recall.
so it really does come down to trial and error with these things.

can i also suggest that maybe you just stop trying so hard for a short while.
i know that sounds counter productive, but i think alot of the time the trying is what's kept me from getting further.i've recently stopped trying to project, and simply concentrated more on energy work and meditation, with the only goal being to "see what happens",no agenda whatsoever.
now i find that most mornings(if i haven't had a drink the evening before )i wake in a trance/paralysis state, and am having far more interesting results then.(phasing in particular)
also i have far more lucid dreams these days, and find myself exiting frequently from them. :-)

i believe Robert Bruce says that a hangover is a good time to AP.i've had a few good experiences when hungover, but i do think that the alcohol would hinder memory recall if you were OOB when still under the influence.
although,saying that,,i was using the boxed nirvana2 mp3 the other night,after having quite a bit to drink(at least 5 pints),and a smoke(i live in Amsterdam  8-)) and i had a very cool experience.very strong vibrations,phasing in and out of different locations.T'was well good! :-D

since using this a few times i can now activate my brow, throat, heart and solar plexus chakras almost instantly.just a couple of focusing breaths and they're strobing gently.very nice. :-)

Nice!! heart strobing, full body vibrations, mega hypnogogics!
didn't fully separate tho,maybe tonight.. :-D

thanks for that!

could even be a spirit guide...

I've always been a meat lover.
I've been meditating for the past year or so,getting into OBE etc..and recently have found myself wanting to have more "veggie"days-ie-whole days without any meat-i try to have 4 per week.then just the other day-to my horror!!!-i put a piece of meat in my mouth and for the first time in my life, felt a feeling of revulsion for the meat in my mouth.I REALLY enjoy eating meat, but it kinda feels like i'm going off it(not a conscious decision)..

I started yoga a while back, and my instructor is always talking about what we eat.maybe he's planted sub-conscious seeds in my mind.

Whatever's going on,there's a change happening that isn't coming from my intellectual mind.i have no choice in the matter...I'M GOING OFF MEAT!!Noooooooo.....!!! :-(

kinda makes me think of the old witchhunting days, the folk in charge given the freedom to quench any spiritual growth...

i agree that false mediums should be sorted out,but then, who's to say that one is false and the other not?
are mediums going to have to take tests to prove they have abilities?and then have a medium's license?

okay, this might sound a little stupid, but what i've been doing is this -
as i have thoughts,i visualise the actual words in front of me,then blast them,as if they are space invaders, from the old arcade game.
then i'm left with nothing but the blackness...

it usually takes 2 or 3 times before the chatter stops fully but it's been working for me..

otherwise,i just force myself to focus only on my breath, but it's more fun to blast the crap outta those pesky thoughts.lol.

I've found an incredibly simple yet powerful way to summon up energy. I simply ask my guides for an energy burst. That's it! Within a few seconds I get an incredibly powerful stream of energy entering from my heart chakra which then flows out to the entire body. The sensation lasts approx 5 seconds and is very strong and paralyzing but then turns into an almost orgasmic flow as it starts to pulsate through the body) - there is no mistaking it. I once accidentally electrocuted myself with 240Volts and this feeling is no less powerful!

After they have 'delivered', I thank my guides and tell them "I'll see you soon". I then use this energy within the body to develop the vibrations.

I guess the only proviso is that you have to believe in the concept of spirit guides and their ability to transfer energy to you.

very interesting...i'll give that a try later...

I just bought MAP today.gonna start the 90 day course after new year.i think it'll definitely help to have a structured course to stick to,as i'm so easily distracted by life.(who isn't tho?) :-D
i'll let you all know how i get on...

i'm also quite new to OBEs,but i can say that both times i've asked for a guide,i've felt their presence, and heard them talk to me.
i reckon if you ask for them-they'll be there.
the last time was two weeks ago,and i was given some advice which has had a HUGE effect on my life already.just a couple of words, but they were sooo relevant to me,every time i think about it,in waking life, they give me the power to make the right decisions.(i have a few self destructive habits that keep holding me back)but now i have more power over them.i don't know if it was a guide,or my higher self-whatever it was,it's helping me progress in my journey.
ask and ye shall receive.. :-)

Can some one put more information : which ones are best to use for OBEs (binaural beats) ? Can we download them for free some where ? Which software is required to play them (I have the Brainwave Generator). Help will be highly appreciated. Thanks.

yeah-i was about to go and buy Robert Bruce's Mastering Astral Projection, but if there's something more effective out there....

Welcome to Out of Body Experiences! / question
December 21, 2007, 14:12:18
there are a number of audio cds available which help to induce OBEs,which sounds like a helpful tool, especially if you're having little success with traditional methods.my question is-in people's opinions, how well do they work?
And,would using this method to achieve OBEs lessen one's ability to reach the desired state without using the cds?

i've recently had a few OBEs,so traditional methods are obviously working for me,but a tool which works every time would be amazing!
what do you guys think??

i've only just discovered your site here-i've been posting on Astraldynamics for a while now..
i remember having OBE's as a kid, obviously didn't know what was going on then...

i started reading about OBE's about 8 months ago-william buhlman,robert bruce etc..
i recently started doing yoga, and i've been doing some of the NEW exercises, among other techniques i've read about, with some success! :-)

i've had a few lucid dreams turn astral, and last week had my first fully conscious exit experience, although i didn't get fully "out"-i got rather excited when half of my body floated free, and didn't get my feet out! :-( nevertheless,it was very cool and has really got me even more excited about leaving the fleshy prison!! :-D

well, that's me.see you 'round the forums...
