I find your question a bit strange honestly. It seems to me that you're asking if Reiki is a real deal or not, so I will elaborate a little bit about the Reiki part instead of 2012.
Reikie deals with energy, energy that is all around us and inside us. Personally I believe to accept that Reiki is a power which we all have and can use to help/heal/comfort each other.
It doesn't matter if you call it Reiki, Love, Live Energy..., you can call it whatever you want.

I have received one Reiki treatment in my life (I'm 30). It felt great, of course you can speculate that is psychically and that I wanted to feel good about it and thereby created the feelings myself.
But that's up to each individual to make up for themselves.
I don't like the fact that people ask money for it (I received my treatment from a friend), because I look at it as something that everyone can give and the energy is just there for the taking.
I'm still having doubts about the fact if an initiation is really necessary (one of the ceremonies they do to become initiated in Reiki), because the lineage of passing on this ceremony must stop somewhere in history, so who gave an initiation to the first person anyway? Catch my drift?
Therefore I personally believe that anybody can start Reiki, it all comes from within anyway, your own belief and spiritual state in this aspect of using energy to help others.

I wanna follow a course in Reiki, reason being to learn from it as I still doubt about the necessity for an initiation. The only way at this moment that can clear up that question for me is learning up and making up my mind then.

Anyway, back to your question: Yes I think it's part of it, as energy is what we are and ascension implies for me higher vibrations and energy is a vibration.

It's so interesting that there are still many things discovered till today, which brings us new perspectives and creates new theories.
My personal take on things suchs as NDE's, OBE's, Meditation, UFO's and other paranormal experiences and discoveries is that until it's proven that it's unmistakingly true or false I keep either options open. Science cannot explain everything yet what we witness sometimes and is mostly focused on the world outside us, rather than the world inside us.

For me dreams & OBE's are real, for they are my reality at the moment I experience them.
1. I cannot deny that to myself, especially when lucid enough during the experience. Even it gets proven later that is just brain chemistry and nothing more, the experiences were valuable and made me who I am today.
2. Science is a framework on which we test the validity of our reality, but should it not rather be the reality on which we base our science. I'm convinced that's what we all try to achieve in one way or another, depending on how you look at it.

My point being; this 14 Oct 2008 prediction, I welcome it. This world and it's inhabitants need hope and most long for an awakening of some kind. So we can correct where we're really going wrong now (global warming, war, poverty, discrimination, racism, genocide, lazyness, depleting of resources, population growth, crazy weather patterns since the last 2 decades, dependency on oil, money (the biggest reason for the problem we face in my eyes), etc.).
Many people still do not want to see or hear about this problem, because we all know that really doing something about it and making a difference will mean a change in attitude and way of living. Personally I think it's for the better of all, including the individual. But I also presume that many people are afraid of such change, for it would tip over their world.
Nonetheless, we either do something about it now or we can wait till it hits us in the face. I also don't have all the solutions for these problems were facing, but I am prepared to do my take in it. So the prediction of UFO's coming to visit us and helping us out is a nice and comforting idea, and therefore I long they come. But if they don't, let us not waste time and wait for another prediction but start living your life in harmony with others, without sacrificing the values that make you "YOU". One person can only do as much as she/he can, giving it your best. If all of us do that than the awakening has already begun...and I think it is.

I have been reading about this 14-10-2008 prediction on the net, checking different sources to collect different points of view.
Now, personally I see myself as an open-minded person, but at the same time aware enough to not be easily fooled or taken advantage of.
I have never been really interested in UFO's or the like, but I prefer to give things the benefit of the doubt and draw personal conclusions later.
Therefor I urge people to not simply take for granted what they find on the net. Why do I say this?
If you start digging a little deeper in subjects connected to this one, you will come out on conspiracy theories.
Personally I'm not sure what I should or should not believe about such theories, that's for each individual to decide for themselves. Anyway, when you dig deeper you will find info concerning "Project Blue Beam". Now this conspiracy theory seems to link this event somewhere as a staged holographic scene by our own leaders. When I noticed this I couldn't believe my eyes that there's even theories out on the net like that. They seem so far-fetched that they boggle the mind, nevertheless...

At this moment I have no idea what to believe. Let's even wait to see if this 14-10-2008 thing is gonna happen in the 1st place.
I may sound pessimistic, but I'm just trying to protect myself from taking things for granted too easily also. As many people do, I also long for a world of Love & Equality, but that does not mean that everything that has a label with 'Love' on it, is what it portays it to be.

My point being: keep open-minded, but keep rational thinking also in the picture and do not be fooled with exterior appearances or seemingly beautiful explanations from others (incl. myself). Foremost listen to yourself & the truth inside you!

I have quickly checked your last posts and noted you write in quite an evangelic way.
Anyway, sorry to add that I can't accept part of your story. I loved the passionate part though, inspiring and definitely the most joyful part of your post. Who would not wanna live in a peaceful loving place so actually you're preaching to the converted here.
The other part however; It's a bit fear-based and I'm passed that kind of religion or persuasion to make "good" people out of "bad" people (please note the " "). In my current spiritual journey I'm already beyond this good/evil dilemma & fear-tinted philosophies and do not believe we're in any position to judge another (referring to your twice mentioning of Hitler). I hope you put some thought on that!

Anyway, I respect your belief and wish you all the best on your spiritual journey...

Hi everybody,

Last year I started frequently to roam this forum; mostly to search for answers on questions, checking out the 2012 prophecy some are talking about, reading debates concerning certain key-beliefs, how others attacked or defended certain topics that are part of my personal-belief system, OBE, LD, philosophy, etc. And I pondered myself if I should register or not. And I thought to myself: "I will do so if I have anything usefull to add for my fellow forum-roamers".

Proud I am, that I really start to make such good progress on my OBE-training. You must know that I work abroad, see my wife & 2 kids six days/month & take airplanes for transportation like breakfast. Combine this with my already very early-ages spiritual thinking (you know; about space, where is god, does space end (infinite/finite), thinking about the biggest number possible, etc...). So if I look back on my life, I can really say that on a spiritual-level I have already done quite a journey + in the last year meeting more than 4 similar-spiritual & special-gifted people. In someway I feel nicely surrounded by these people, as it seems to guide me in a direction.
Destination unknown, but it's the journey that counts.
Anyway, combined with a busy job, this confined my OBE-training mostly to weekends or when I felt I would give it a go and was ready to sacrifice some sleep.  
I start to have better control to keep my mind awake by thus entering the trance-state. I had one near-exit & 1one time an OBE (but this could have been a LD-OBE, still not sure yet) in the last 3 weeks. More info concerning those I will add later on in the other part of the forum (sorry, of-work now and feeling a bit lazy, just wanna listen some music , chill out & just roam the latest posts).
