Welcome to Out of Body Experiences! / Dream Log
November 25, 2002, 07:37:24
Hello.
I started an old habit of mine of making a Dream Log.
I find myself waking up at least twice a night to write my dreams on some notepad (hard to understand the hand writing later though as I write it half asleep).
My question is if it can harm the Astral Projection practice in any way.
Because I was thinking that maybe what I do is whenever I have a dream I tell myself to wake up and write it (maybe without even letting it finish), and so maybe it can build an instict of ruinning successful OBE experiences?
I acualy wake up alot of times per night to write dreams, some of them I decide to skip writing because they dont seem so important at the time, but later on in the morning I have no idea what it was I decided to skip.
Its cool to see what you dreamt about though, when I read it I acualy recall what I dreamt in a very much visual way, I know I get lazy when writing in the middle of the night and only write like 50% or less of the entire dream, I'm trying to discipline myself into writing the whole dream, because when I read what I wrote I do recall that it was much more then what I wrote, much longer, much more complex, but I cant recall what it was, and it does seem important looking back.

Welcome to Out of Body Experiences! / It is time
November 24, 2002, 09:35:20
Hello.
My name is Itay, I'm 20 years old from Israel.
I read Robert's Treatise on Astral Projection in the form of text files a few years ago, I remember being very into it at the time, kept dodging school classes just to read it again and to give it another shot :)
However I dont remember having an acualy memorized OBE, I also have no idea when it was that I stopped trying or why.
I bought Astral Dynamics, hmm, 2 years ago or so, and I never read it until yesterday! I have no idea how it kept dodging me, and suddenly yesterday at about 1AM I see it on my book shelf and I realise it was there all this time...
Anyway, I started reading it last night, so far I'm in the middle of chapter two, all the excitement I had years ago when reading the treatise is back!
The book also made me realise that I probebly did have successful projections back then when I practiced the rope technic because I very much recall those moments where everything was just right, when I was vibrating all over after about 5-10 minutes of rope climbing, and I was in that spot where I was waiting for it to happend, then giving up after a few minutes and going to sleep, not realising that maybe I was acualy already there!
Bah, so I'm so energetic right now I cant get myself to even read anymore! I cant take it! so I came here to read some success stories to even further motivate me, I feel my time to shine is at hand.
I do have a questions.
I travelled to India about a year and a half ago, and I got to learn Yoga for about 2 months, having some amazing experiences.
I still practice some asanas and meditation daily, though they are based on several major chakras and as far as I know give very little attention to minor chakras, and from what I've read in Robert's book so far, minor chakras are very important so I'll work on them.
Anyway, the question is about... well... sex.
I dont mean to go into details, but more into hearing just a reply or two from people who practice OBE on regular bases.
From what I've learned, and from my personal experience, sex in which the person ejaculates is a great 'waste' of energy.
There are some yoga types to preserve that energy, such as Tantra Yoga, ment to seperate the ejaculation from the acualt energetic orgasm and to direct that huge amount of orgasm energy to your desired chakra, but I am very little femiliar with those.
I know some of that 'waste' theory to be true, for I practice daily yoga, every day I feel the energies running through me as I direct them to various major chakras, and I can say that in the day after having intercourse the energy flow is very much weak, some technics become as far as useless, not to mention trying to practice at the same day of the intercourse, or a short time afterwards.
I can only assume it has some effect when it comes to astral projection.
There is also by the way a Yoga method called Nidra Yoga, Yoga of the Dreams, which is basicly the same as OBE, though I didnt have the chance to get further into this Yoga.
And about that last question, if anyway can makes matter a bit clearer (maybe by means of email) I'd appreciate it.
This forum looks very promising, I feel it can offer great support to those who wish to strive higher in the path of OBE and other spiritual paths.

Welcome to Out of Body Experiences! / Dream Log

Thanks for the replies.
lucid dancer: Yes, I do that sometimes when its more of a disturbing dream, like last night I had a sad dream, I kept waking up two or three times after that dream just to write more details on that same dream as I suddenly remembered them, I'm sure if I'd stay awake and think about it in the first place i'd remember more of it.

Sounds kinda cool, I wish you'd project and be able to tell us how they look, if it wasnt acualy you in some way :)

Edit: I'm acualy reading Astral Dynamics for the first time now and I came across a relevant paragraph: "Ignore any noises or voices you hear before or during a projection attempt - no matter how real or loud they may appear to be. These are a type of auditory hallucination withno real substance. If you feel anything touching you or tugging at you, or even hands grabbing at you, ignore them. These are a type of tactile hallucinations. None of these hallucinations can hurt you, but they can distract you - can break your nerve and focus - and lessen your chances for a successful projection, if you recat to them."
