I read somewhere (I think Astralvoyage.com) that the younger you are the harder it is because the etheric energy has a stronger hold to the physical body. The older you are the easier it is to have an OBE. Also if you´re sick you can supposetdly have an OBE easier than when you are well.

I´m only 17. I´ve been trying for quite a while and have not been able to get one yet. I´ve had quite a few lucid dreams in the past few days but as of now no OBEs.

Thanks.

Every time I get really close to being ready I always have problems with breath. It fluctuates and changes and I keep trying to balance it out but then I end up needing more oxygen and... *shrugs* It´s really annoying. Anyone have any tips on how the breath when going into an OBE.

Thanks!

I've been trying for quite a while and I still can't get it.

Do you know if I should have some form of concrete meditation background before I attempt to AP? I have mainly been focusing on mediation recently. I am very good at meditating and can go into a trance but when I try and AP I always become restless, my breath quickens and I come out of meditation. Am I trying too hard or something?

Any advice?

Well when I just want to meditate I just go into the Lotus posture. It does take some flexiblity though. Basically you sit cross legged except that each foot is ontop of the other leg. (http://www.santosha.com/asanas/padma.html) It´s good for meditation.

When I try to obe (havn´t done it yet, I don´t think atleast) I just lie down. I think the trick is to lie down as if you´re dead. Most times when I try to obe I normally become too conscious of my breath and it fluctuates because of that. *Shrugs*

Gotta keep working on it.

Well... I the point of the question was to illustrate if Christianity was in fact molded to what "Christ would have wanted" or if it was molded to something other than what he wanted and he would be more comfortable with Judiasm. Christianity was originally just an offspring of Judiasm. Just as much as Buddhism is an offspring of Hinduism.

From what I´ve heard the Gospels were written 100 years or so after Christ´s physical death.

*shrugs*

Maybe he would be more comfortable with Buddhism. I found it very strange when I was reading some of what Christ did (my knowledge of Judeo-Christian religion is very limited) that they compaired almost exactly to some feats that were accomplished by modern day Yogis. Ever read "Autobiography of a Yogi"? Sri Yukteshwar did the exact same thing that Jesus did just on a smaller scale. Where Jesus supposetedly took all the sins of mankind, Sri Yukteshwar took some of the karma of the author and as a result became visibly sick.

It´s just another one of those great mysteries. No way to really know, is there? Unless, of course, he resurrected.

I actually just finished a book that address this question. It has many theories. I think the most interesting one is that he was a hypnotist. All of his miracles can be described through hypnotism.

I think that he was a great person although I do not really think a religion should have been created revolving around him. Of course, each is entitled to their opinion but you have to ask the question:

If Jesus resurrected today would he be more at home with modern Cristianity or with Judism?
