First of all, what made you "feel" like you were going to die, and what made you think that you were dead after this happened?  If it was the blurry, unfocused fading to black that is something everyone experiences when coming in and out of dreams.  You told yourself to "stay focused and not loose control", so were you lucid during this experience?

As I mentioned, I don't remember the beginning of the dream, but when this happened I was not guessing whether or not I was dying... I "knew" I was. I "knew" I was dead, and was floating and saw my body, so there was no doubt. The "stay focused and not to loose control" part was not to loose control of the dream, because I was not lucid. I was actually trying to hold my consciousness even after I am dead! I wanted to be conscious and in control even without a body.

I had plenty of dreams where I died, all in different ways.  I can only recall seeing my dead body once.  I was on the outside looking in when my child's daddy was called into the either a hospital or morgue see me with my brains spilling out and he broke down crying.  (It looked more like a hospital.) Oh and my eyes were blinking, which tells me that it was moreso just a random dream.

I've also had dreams where it felt like I was no longer a body and I felt myself floating through some type of tunnel.  I could remember still being able to think and I was scared because I actually thought I may have died in my sleep. Then I'd wake up.  This happened to me a couple of times throughout my life.

Its great to know others have had similar dreams too. Yes, I also thought I am actually dead until I woke up... and was so relieved and happy. I spent the day thinking how precious every minute of life is, that we take for granted!

Usually when people have dreams in which they die it signifies a change that is taking place in ones life.

I read that somewhere too... Hope it will be a good change (if it happens).

Welcome to Dreams! / I died

I don't remember the beginning... (as usual in dreams). What I remember is that I felt I am gonna die, the world starts to blur, and go out of focus... only sounds and feelings... then I go deeper and deeper... Now I know whats happening and am worried about people who love me, specially my mother. I worry how she will cope with the fact that I am dead... I go deeper and deeper and swooooosh! gone.

then I regain consciousness... I see the world again, but I know I am dead. I tell myself to "stay focused and not to loose control"... I head straight to see my ex  (yeah I know, weird!). She is actually married and has a kid, but she was one of the closest people in my life. I 'feel' that she is the one who could 'see' me.

As expected, she sees me... I gesture to her to come to a place where my body is and she comes and I show her my body. I can see my body, in green t-shirt... with folded arms, in a bench. mouth a bit open (teeth visible), as though I am asleep seated. Felt weird seeing my dead body. She says something like "Oh my God" and she calls her mom.

Her mom doesn't know I am there and she can't see me... but she asks my ex "there's a weird smell around this place" pointing to the place where I am hovering in the air!... So I quickly fly to the other side.

Then I remember I am walking with them on the road... Now I am actually talking to both of them. I am very sad and tell them "I don't know how my mother is gonna absorb this shock" and they tell me not to worry and that they will take care of it. And I also worry about the people who are dependent on me, about how they are gonna support themselves and all...

After a while I woke up... still feeling the same sadness.... But once I opened my eyes and saw the room faintly, I was like "oh god I am not dead yet"... felt very relieved. But throughout the day, I still feel a bit off. Cos' this is the 1st time I have seen myself die and also seen my dead body!.

So is there any significance to this dream? Anything special seeing one's own dead body? Waiting for your replies eagerly :?

Peace.

Awesome. Thanks for making this thread.

I'm Arman, and I'm 25, live in Southern California, lately have been experiencing OBE symptoms, but have yet to consciously have an OBE. One of these days. I have Robert Bruce's book, but man that thing is tedious. Anyone have any ideas or suggestions.

thebluerose,

it is what astral pulse is all about  :-)
your questions about ideas, suggestions, techniques & experiences are more likely already answered. you can explore the forum to discover more.

im trying for ages too... no OBE here lol

cheers

Im a new member here, been reading the posts here for a while now, trying so hard to achieve AP. How many days does it takes for you to achieve your first AP? And how long? O.o I'm sorry, just curious

There is a friend of mine who projects 'automatically' (he didn't know what's happening to him). There are people who start doing it in days and weeks and even in months...

And there are people like me, who keep trying and trying and trying for more than 3 years

So it depends... in my opinion.

But don't give up, ever.

I didn't navigate to the link you provided.

In fact, I don't have to. I have one and ONLY one answer for you (IMHO). That is, only if you feel comfortable to use something from a religion other than Christianity... Hinduism to be precise.

This will transform your life altogether...

I am about to introduce you to a powerful mantra. I actually feel uncomfortable/worried to tell about this mantra like this through some text on the screen, because it's such a holy and powerful mantra. In fact it is regarded as the "most powerful mantra in the world" among hindus.

This mantra is gifted to the world by an ancient yogi named "Vishwamithra". It is capable of giving immense power and protection to the people who use it in their life.

There are stories that say, when a person blessed by the mantra, just steps into a house, the evil forces run for their lives!
(being blessed by the mantra to that extent takes total dedication)

Yogis used to chant it endlessly and have attained supernatural powers, the hindu text say. But you should believe in it's power.

Ok enough of the build-up.... I was talking about the holy Gayathri Manthra  (or Gayathree Manthra)

The mantra dedicated to goddess Gayathri herself.

This is the only solution/reply I would give to you. Chant the mantra (in mind), 108 times (or at least 18 times) early in the morning or before going to bed. You not only would be freed from any evil, if you continue chanting it this way, you will become a powerful person spiritually.

I am not someone who do it like that though. Cos' it's better be done by people who are vegetarians! Be mindful about that too. (I use it when I am in deep trouble. I've seen the evil forces disappear into smokes in my nightmares, when I use the manthra. sorry, that's the only place I have encountered evil forces in the 'supernatural' sense.)

So go on and smoke em'... Good luck. May God bless you! (belief and devotion is the key). If you or anyone doesn't believe in it, better ignore this post, without insulting the manthra, please.

Here's the holy Gayathri/Gayathree manthra...

Om Bhur Bhuva Suvah
Tat Savithur Varenyam
Bhargo Devasya Dheemahi
Dhiyo Yonah Prachodayat

Guys/Gals... An unbelievably beautiful 'western-musical' version of the manthra... have a listen to this.
[Deva Premal and Miten - Gayatri Mantra] : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d63COahIpVM

It doesn't have to be 'musical' when u use it.

Hi woop,
my long description of the technique may have made it sound quite difficult, but it's actually pretty simple when you try it. Whatever method you choose though, you should bear in mind that they are all much more effective if you get a few hours sleep before you make your attempt. When you first fall asleep at night you are in deep sleep for a few hours, and it's unlikely that you will OBE in this phase of sleep. When your brain has had enough deep sleep, REM sleep phases become dominant and it's the perfect time to exit.
Hope this is some help, and good luck with it...

Maybe that's why I couldn't project yet too... thanks for the info.

Hi Baphomet,

I'm not sure if you can project successfully (while you are seated in a posture to meditate and while you hear all the mouse clicks and other sounds) in just a month of meditation experience.

If that's what happened, then you must be really a gifted individual. In my opinion, it takes a great deal of relaxation (almost to a stage of sleep) to at least get the vibrations.

Maybe an expert on this subject should put a reply to get to know what really is going on here.

Keep practicing and keep us all updated on your experience... good luck

Welcome to Out of Body Experiences! / Re: Hello
December 11, 2008, 11:20:40
Hi woop!,

I have experience getting upto the vibrations, like this...

1. Prepare your mind (Reading alot about other people's astral experiences will help)

Once in bed...
2. Start repeating in your mind "MIND AWAKE, BODY ASLEEP" (can be done in your native language)
3. Relax your body part by part

you will reach the vibrational stage soon (after falling almost asleep couple times, if done with a real need for projection!)

after that, you will need the guidance of the experts (me too!  :-) )

Good luck

I used to do the old "imagine a rope" and pull up trick... but it just doesn't seem to work..and when i say years, i mean literally years. I used to AP when I was 13, I'm 20 now, things just are "different" in my mind set if that makes sense, and i just cant seem to get out

It happened to me with meditation... forgetting it cos' of challenges in life and stress... but Astral Pulse forum has always been a source of inspiration for me (though I joined only recently).

At least reading others' interesting AP experiences would motivate you tremendously and would bring you back to the mindset soon in my opinion.

Good luck
