yeah I'll have to read that tomorrow. Thanks though, everyone for replying to this post! It's good to hear some people that have put a lot of genuine thought into this great topic (and probably had great experiences as well). Unfortunately, I am too busy for the next couple of months  to really try to project again like I had before, but I can assure you that I will set out to do this at some point, and when it finally does happen for me, I will make sure to get back to you all.

how else can one have an out of body experience without separating though? I always thought that was what defined OBEs. If not, please explain more.
#3
yeah what he said is so true, I have always had by far the best experience getting to the separation state right after waking up usually about an hour after falling asleep.

i've heard that a lot of dogs can predict when their owner is coming home, and I guess parrots aren't much different (they can even talk).

Besides, sometimes when I hear something like an alarm clock dining and I am still asleep, I start having dreams that mimic these sounds (like a bomb exploding lol). Other than that, never experienced something so psychic, but I'm never surprised with dreams..

Well, I suppose in a way it's kind of a good thing that there are old people who are cool enough to give a speech about physics and astral projection in the same seminar. It gives me faith that perhaps one day we can all have a real OBE and then we can all be really happy ;)

Also, I still regret to this day the fear that kept me from separating during the few times I felt like I got close last year. It's like my brain is warning at me to stay in my body and releases a lot of adrenaline as a result. Since then, I haven't experienced vibrations, but I have had dreams about Astral Projection. Really, I need to wait until I have a lot of time on my hands again to have another crack at it.

I have never separated from my body, but I have had vibrations, similar to how you described. Fear always was the one thing that prevented me from exiting my body; you need to be brave to overcome this and tap into your inner courage for this bravery (boy do I wish I was brave). But really, it's been a matter of personal preference in choosing when is the time I will decide to attempt again, as I have had the best success achieving vibrations when woken up about an hour after falling asleep, in the middle or end of my first dream.

yeah @ Volgerie I'll have to check that link out later today, thanks.

@Lionheart   "Personally I have watched it about 25 times and still I get something new from it. The more you practice this "Art/skill" the more you really understand what he is saying. I am not 100% on board with everything he has said, because my perception of what I am seeing differs from his. He is looking at this from a strictly nut and bots point of view. He is trying to explain this using what he knows, which is science and physics in general. I am more of a hands on guy."

Yeah, I only watched it once but I agree with what you are saying. I mean, the guy is much older than I am, so some of what he is saying comes across as hard to understand, that's why I wish I could have asked him a few questions. I'll have to watch it again, some of the stuff in there sounded pretty interesting to me at the time.

I really would have liked to meet him in person, too bad I couldn't have made it to the seminar. Speaking of internet celebs, Nick Newport really poured his heart out in the lucidology 101 series with regards to OBEs and Lucid dreaming, which really gave me the courage to share that enthusiasm. It's a great series if you are like me and would maybe like to have an out of body experience some day. One common feature of his videos is the way he organizes them objectively, so anyone can really understand what he is trying to get across. Great guy, too bad I haven't heard anything from him in recent years...

Lionheart, a month ago you posted that link and I watched the whole thing. Tom seems like a knowledgeable character who really got his facts straight from experience, and it shows! I think he is a convincing speaker on the subject, and that is so hard to find in this field nowadays. If only there were more people like him who could provide such relevant information on the mysterious subject of AP. If they are out there, they sure do need to come out of hiding!

Really, I like how the guy was straight to the point, and was serious the whole time. I did take away some things from his speech, and I had never heard of Tom Campbell before you posted the link. I had only heard of rich, steve jones, and bob bruce. It's good to have people out there who really believe in AP. Thanks for posting the link.

Hi, I feel like astral projection is one of the few "psychic" phenomena that is not just hocus pocus. I am pretty skeptical when it comes to a lot of things that don't have physical proof, but I feel like astral projection is one of the few things with no evidence backing up that is worth believing, but here's the problem.

Astral projection is one of the things I want to scratch off my bucket list, since I came across it in a book in my aunt's basement when I was a mere 7 year old. Since then, I have experienced vibrations (consciously induced, of course) but never separated out of fear that they cause in the moment (i.e. a heart beat that increases by 55-65 bpm) not out of exaggerated superstitions, but because the concrete sensations vibrations cause are very unsettling. However, regardless of the fear they can induce, vibrations is one of the concrete signs (to me, at least) that what monroe wrote about wasn't just another "mind reading" trick or some similar BS.

Really, AP is a simple concept when you get down to it: From what I know it's as easy as 1. relax, 2. vibrate, 3. separate, but step 2 is so hard to accurately predict. I've only vibrated 3 times, but most importantly, I feel like if I am vibrating and also feeling it in an absolutely physical, waking way (like holding on to a jackhammer, once I heard what sounded like my neck snapping), it must be a telltale sign of something that is really bound to happen! I mean, what else could such a rare, but undeniably real and physical phenomenon be a sign of, other than something kind of mysterious and far out, like AP?

Anyways, the takeaway I hope you get from this is that, I really want to believe in AP because it sounds too good to pass up (if it is true). I just hope that someone can relate to me with their experiences and give a concise, understandable, and realistic answer to what I have explained. Anything that is related to your beliefs or experiences relating to AP is worth sharing. I just want to be sure that the vibrations I have felt are the feeling of AP, and not just some weird sensation that is completely unrelated.

Please Respond, I really want this to be more than just some psycho-babble. What if AP was scientifically backed?

Honestly if you dont feel like getting up in the morning, I think it is best anyway to just imagine yourself waking up like 1-2 hours later (or even less) and if you picture it in your mind then you will wake up.

It's best to wake up near the end of your first dream. You will remember your dreams then snap right out of them. When you wake up, (at least if you're like me) you will already be in a sort of half-vibrational state. Just one thing I've noticed with a little guidance from some online article (good read, forgot the link).

From there, it's really a matter of controlling the vibrations and relaxing deeper.

yeah last night I became lucid in a dream where I was vibrating and tried to separate my legs.... Cool stuff. No success though, will have to try again.
#13
yeah im actually halfway through it lol... This guys the dude man
#14
Ok will do thanks for being so helpful everyone
#15
take the red pill lol
#16
yes, you are right about the unconscious aspect of it helping, and what i learned last night was to will myself to wake up an hour or 2 after falling asleep. Last night I awoke with a feeling that vibrations were imminent but unfortunately my roommate woke me up.  Really it is much easier this way than right before bed without any sleep beforehand.
#17
yeah, thanks for the replies guys. One thing I found that helps last night is to command your mind to wake you up after an hour. Then you will wake up and for me at least my body was half vibrating when I woke up (too bad my roomate woke up) will give this some insight.

Really, I know that I am going to be ok, the fear seems like more of a primal instinct. My heart starts beating really fast (feels like 190 BPM) and my breathing starts sputtering. I can maintain it when it happens, it's just that the vibations feel so uncomfortable that my "comfort zone" instinct has always prevailed in the past. So much so that even when I really wanted to project, I found myself too frightened to move. On a 1-10 its a 9 of just plain "intense"

I remember Nicholas Newport in his series Lucidology 101 mentioned that there are energy levels to the astral plane and that emotions do indeed have an effect (Mind you, I have never been there)

He said that you mood can affect the light frequencies and visual power of the projection and make some dark or bright depending on it. Here is the link below.

Nice to meet you. maybe we can learn from each other here
#21
Hi I am new to this forum but would not like to forget my manners. I think this is a great place to learn from others and share ideas and I can't wait to get started with that. Anyway, just PM me if you want to get to know me.

I have  experience with astral projecting and have never made it out of body, but at the same time have come pretty darn close and, believe it or not, every time, the only thing stopping me from it was fear.

I think this is a lost and sacred art that should be treated almost in a religious sense (seriously!) and taken as such. I personally have no doubt about this even though there is no scientific proof. I think all it takes is a little faith

Anyways, nice to meet you all.

I am new here, but I have known about this forum for a while and it really is a great place.

One thing I have learned after a while of attempting and experienceing some very real things is that you must keep at it. Sometimes dreams are your best friend and can offer advice on more things than you know. So, tonight ask your mind to givve you a sign of what you are doing wrong and you might be surprised.

Welcome to Astral Projection Experiences! / Close Call
September 18, 2013, 09:52:13
Hi I am new here, but I have known about Astral Projection for years now. Recently I have committed myself to doing this because I have come close in the past and have inner faith that it is a true phenomenon.

About a year ago, I induced the vibrations at night on three separate occasions and felt each time as if I was holding on to a jackhammer. In fact, the feelings were so powerful that my heart felt like it was going to beat right out of my chest. And as the vibrations went on, I ended up getting so scared that I didn't even move every time!

I regret this to this day because I haven't been able to achieve vibrations since then. I always feel so scared whenever I have gotten near-separation, and it always freaks me out... Any advice for not letting fear stop you in the astral?

Thanks for the quick replies guys. So far I'm tryin not to rush things but the reason I was curious is because I've gotten vibrations before but they seem so elusive. I'll make sure to take my time with this

Welcome to Astral Consciousness! / Vibrations Question
September 18, 2013, 02:04:53
Hi, I am new here but not new to this concept. I had intense vibrations 3 or 4 times about a year ago, and I could have separated but got scared to move and didn't separate. Since then I have not been able to get vibrations, and it makes me wonder: what is the most reliable way to get vibrations?

I think one trick that can help that I've learned is when your body is really relaxed (paralyzed) to cross your eyes and look up into your skull. You should hear a dark, pulsating vibrating sound and a tingle in your spine. Sometimes this helps me to "jump start" the vibrations like a key to a car. You can even try it now when you are fully awake and you will see what i am saying.

Anyways, despite what I've said, I haven't had much luck consistently getting vibrations. Any advice?
