Please, can someone explain this to me?

I think in was kakkarot who mentioned something along the lines that relaxation or muscles helps chi, and the flexing or tensing of muscles helps ki manipulation???

Meanwhile I've barely got a clue about what jing truly is, as not many people agree on it. And how does one use it?

I've been trying for a while now, and I just can't seem to get anywhere,Insert I don't know what I'm doing right or wrong, I'm totally lost, even though I've been researching energy manipulation alot.
I think I may have managed to create a weak ki ball once, and I may have powered up a little, but I can't tell, I think it's just all wishful thinking. I know that these things are possible, I mean I can sometimes be clairvoyant, I can do some pendulum dousing, and I just all out believe in it. But I'm just not sure I can do it.
When I created that one ki ball, or at least when I thought I did, my fingers and hands tingled and I may have seen kind of a translucent outline of it. I grounded myself before and after attempting it, using the rooting technique. The other day, after reading some of your posts, I tried to power up, and I could see a greenish inch-wide outline around myself, but maybe it was just an illusion?
I've done 2 styles of karate, goju ryu, soo bak do, and now I'm on my third which is kyokushin. I'm not saying I made it to black belt in all of those, but I'm definitely more advanced than the white belt I am at the moment.
I figured if I told you a little about myself you'd have some ideas to share with me, I would really appreciate any advice you have to give.

Can anyone possibly explain these things in more detail? I'm still highly confused, and the information out there differs with every source.

I must say that this thread is fascinating. EnderWiggin's explanation on perception actually amazes me, that is, if I understand it correctly. Is imagination really more important than knowledge? Maybe. If you you increase the percentage used of your brain, and increase your connection with spirituality, you could possibly do anything. But how does one reach that point? Can it even happen? Would it only happen to certain people, with a natural, biological inclination to it? I've so many questions and there are so few answers, but right now my mind seems more stimulated than ever as I try to find these answers.

Welcome to Energy Body and The Chakras / Ki Ball?

Sounds about right to me, I suppose that no two persons would have the same experience anyway, so you would have to decide to yourself what it is. But like I said, it definitely seems like a ki ball.

Just to clear this up, kakkarot, I'm a girl, but it's sadly not uncommon that I'm mistaken for the opposite sex...

About the grounding, almost everything I read listed a techinique similiar to, if not the same as my own. I don't understand why there was such confusion about it.

I was wondering also, what your opinions are on the concept of jing. Some believe that it is an entirely different form of energy from ki, others believe that it is ki, only known with a different name, and yet some also think that it is something in between the two opposing ideas.

I personally could imagine it being ki, because using ki, your own mind can control it, and can create it, so why not just "tell" your ki to become a sort energy that can create a seen destructive affect when used against an object?

Mind you, I don't mean "destructive" in a negative way, I only use it to refer to the affect it would have on its target, such as, in extreme cases, possibly cracking or breaking down a wall.

I personally practice in my basement, where my family usually doesn't traffic through while I'm there. It has ajustable lighting to make me feel more comfortable, a couch, tv, and stereo, not to mention my playstation. Usually I work out to music, then turn the music off and meditate for a while to start my ki training.

In the warmer weather I plan to start training outside as well, I've about 2 acres of land, with many trees to make the area fairly private. I figure that it may even give better results as I would have a direct connection with the earth and the environment around me from which I could draw energy.

Personally, I first ground myself to make sure that I have enough energy to keep myself from burning out. Incase you don't know, grounding is a technique in which you stand (or sit) and "visualize" sorts of roots or cables coming out from your legs and feet, and going deep into the earth to collect its energy then convert it inside your body to your own energy using, once again, "visualization". I imagine the earth's energy as blue, and my own as green.

I then sit on the ground and for a few mintues I try to clear my mind, then cup my hands comfortably in front of me, making sure that my body feels at rest.

Then I imagine my energy, which I picture as green, swirling around in my dan tien, spreading upward through my chest and then into my arms, and out through my palms swirling into a mass of energy between them. I personally keep my eyes open, not concentrating on watching what is happening, but looking at the ki ball in a sort of dazed way, without focusing on any particular object or space. I feel that helps me to see the outline of the ball, rather than concentrating on whatever may be directly in front of me.

I continue to add energy to the ball until I feel faint tingling in my hands, then I pull them very slowing apart, and move them closer until I'm sure that I can feel a certain pressure as I move my hands closer to one another.

I hope this helped you somewhat, this is my own experience, but of course a different method may work better for you.

I was wondering, in your experience, do you tend to see the ki ball before or after you begin to feel that pressure between your hands? I'm just very curious.

Yeah, I happen to be a DBZ junkie myself, but from a more practical point of view, the techniques may or may not be real, however I find that it is a great motivator to study ki. I mean, there's even a possibility that one could eventually learn to fly, and that may just be the tip of the iceberg.

Well, as I've said before, I'm not very experienced, however, my theory is that one could channel and control his or her ki in order to add what would seem to be physical strenth, and lift a greater amount of weight. Mind over matter. Of course, I could very well be wrong, but it's only an idea.

Actually, I read somewhere that there's a mathematical equation to figure out a person's "power level".
Height + Weight + Age + Strength (average pounds/kilos that you can bench). Then you take the sum of this and divide it by 50.
The average human power level is said to be around 6.
Mine seems to be about 5.8...wow...aren't I strong... -_-'

Eh, well I do tend to look at things more on the negative side...guess I'll have to change that.
