Believing - no, knowing - in our own strength and power is key in real life and in the spiritual life. That is something I truelly stand by.

I have several eperiences, most of them just happen, some of them are induced. This experience with Vin happend on its own. The ambience was very peaceful. so much so that I asked him to stay, which was selfish in insight ...

This is how I wrote it in my log at the time.

- "2 days ago I had an encounter with what I think was a ghost in my dreams.

Firstly, for your information, I have some experience with dreaming and lucid dreaming to the point I can affect things on various levels in my dreams. I have learned to always before sleeping raise my shields. It has become natural for me to do this, as I have had negative encounters in lucid dreaming and while experiencing out of body experiences.
I was in bed and taking a nap in the afternoon, being lazy as I had a few days off from work. I was in a state between sleeping and being awake when suddenly I felt this cold down my spine. I was also seized by a kind of electrical shiver that started in my brains and went down my body and it felt like passing through tangible static or electricity... it didn't hurt though, but I definitely felt it. Then I became aware of this person lying next to me. I felt his body, his warmth, I could touch him it was almost sensual. It felt so real I woke up with a shriek. Realizing it was a dream I thought to myself "its ok, go back to sleep".

The moment I turned around and dozed off again I got the same static felling and cold down my back. And there he was again, this time holding me. He wasn't cold as I would expect a ghost to be, but he was warm and solid. Now, having experience with lucid dreams I thought to myself "ok, let's see what this is about". I acknowledge the fact that there was someone next to me and holding me. I think I lay there rationally analyzing the situation for about 5 minutes, making sure this was not one of my weird dreams. I know who I was, where I was, what I felt and wasn't scared. Then the static stopped and I was awake again...

I decided to take this a step further and, still able to push myself to sleep, I dozed again. The static came again and this time I was aware of the different phases I went through before I was in the realm in between. When I was there, he was lying opposite to me, I was looking in his face but couldn't make out his features, however when I looked down I could see his body clearly....I tried to speak:" can I see your face?"...he said in stern almost screaming voice "no! Don't look!" and then vanished...
I woke up again and lay in bed trying to figure out what it was...was I imagining things? Did I sleep too much and was my brain being sleep drunk...not making much sense of it all I was falling asleep again (note that I was never afraid or discomforted, I was safe in my house and confident of my protection and safety).

I suddenly felt that static again and knew something was going to happen. I heard the door slowly being pushed open and felt something sitting behind me on the corner of my bed by my foot end. I decided to turn around and opened my eyes. There I saw him sitting, looking at me. I saw his body clearly and his head but couldn't really make out his face clearly...he was a Caucasian male, in his mind 20s, brown hair to his neck, strangely enough no t-shirt, black pants....but he had blood on the right side of his head. Then I knew there was no mistake I was dealing with someone who had passed. What followed was a conversation. I asked his name...he didn't respond... I asked:" how old are you?"....he answered:"26"...I asked:"how long have you been like this?"...he said:"a year."  This meant he died in 2012. Again I asked him:" what happened to you?" ...he said:"I was in a bicycle accident...I was looking at someone who smiled at me and didn't notice the car that was coming towards me."....He then recited a poem in Dutch (I live in The Netherlands) and I was astonished at his commend of the language, so I thought to myself, he might be writer or maybe studying Dutch at one of the universities in the Hague or Leiden (where I live). I felt sorrow but also love and warmth coming from him, so I put my hand on his knee. He took my hand and looked at it and said:"you should cut your nails". I was feeling perplexed and almost a little offended and said:"but I just did yesterday..." he smiled and said:" you remember when you last cut your nails...I wish I did remember when I did mines.".....then I knew he was about to vanish to I said:"no, please don't go..." He sat there looking at me for about 2-3 minutes then was gone.

The static lifted and I woke up. I sat in bed for I think an eternity pondering what just happened. This all happened between 3.00 PM and 6.30 PM on Friday January 4th 2013. I was going through all the possibilities my rational mind could come up with: dreaming, fantasies, something I saw before that could influence my lucid dreams or my subconscious. But I had 4 recurrent experiences within in a short time with the same aspects and involving the same entity...so I kept an open mind and decided it was real.

I called my sister and told her the story and she advised me to take some extra protection measures like putting warding charms around my bed and burn sage. I said I didn't want to because I actually asked him to stay. She said I said I was crazy. I told her maybe I should call Mom to ask her what it meant. She told me not to if I didn't want to make her worry and have the whole Ghostbusters brigade invade my home (Mom and Granny).

So what I basically know about him based on deduction and the information I got from him and what I saw: His name must be Vin, Vince or Vincent (it's the name that came from one of the prose in his poem - Vin), he is 26 years old, white, brown hair long to his neck, was killed in a bicycle/car accident in 2012 and was a student or a writer. I am not sure the accident happened in The Hague or the surroundings...but I assumed that much as I live in The Hague.
I asked him not to leave because I am very curious about this whole event and about him. If it's real, I hope to see him soon enough, if not.....well that was one hell of a dream(s)...

I thought to share this with you because it left me wondering and I do not want to share this with my friends (yet).
Please, let me hear what you think. I think it was a real experience, but then again maybe I am wrong.

Best,
K. "- End log

That's so weird about the Col. Sanders guy because I had a situation once where I left my body and I was flying through the air intending to go spy on someone although at the time I didn't think of it as spying, just visiting, and suddenly I felt someone grab my arm. I yelled let me go! I was pulled to someplace and when I opened my eyes i i saw this man who was older with gray hair and glasses! I didn't know what to think of him and it startled me so much that I was instantly back in my body. I've always wondered who that guy was. I wondered if the fact that I was trying to spy had something to do with him grabbing me like that. But the guy you describe sounds just like him! What do you think?

I believe that it might be an entity on the astral plane. I am not sure what kind of entity yet. But I think it is worth noting that he appeared to both of us - if it is he. I think we haven't seen the last of him.

I have noticed that my OOB experiences have increased since I last made this post and I am also certain of the fat that there are negative entities lurking around, as I had to brush off one or two on all the several occassions. First I was scared, but then I realized if I didn't want them near me, I just had to state or scream it so. They eventually leave, but I think they are picking up on the surge of activity.

what are your experiences with astral defence? I always visualize a white and blue shield around me. Shields and defensive spells are something I got good at.

I will post my experience with the deceased guy (Vin) in abit - let me know what you think about it.

cheers, Loki

2 days ago I had one of my many astral experiences  and decided to put it on paper.
I was laying in bed in the dark, thought I was awake and saw something in the corner of the room near the television set. I soon realized that I was asleep but could see. My legs and arms could move up and down but my stomach was nailed firmly to the bed. I first tried to move my legs and arms. I could lift them up but they were heavy. Then I tried to lift myself up by holding on to the edge of the bed. Even though I was incorporeal, I could hold on to the bed. However, my midsection would not budge....I then tried with all my might to turn left. I opened my "astral" eyes to find myself turned 90 degrees to the left on my central axis, half through the bed...that was one of the weirdest things I ever experienced being stuck like that.
I forget to mention that when I realized at first I was awake and saw that shadow, a surge went through me and a mixed feeling of fear, anxiety and excitement seized me, as if I was an animal caught in unfamiliar surroundings.... Luckily, that feeling quickly subsided.
That same night was full of vivid dreams of me flying through walls and worlds, meeting spirits of people I know in other realities.
I also met a weird guy – early 70's, wearing glasses and balding but with grey hair, wearing a mad scientist get up, or a butcher's get up( almost colonel Saunders like) , who interrupted one of my dreams and brought me and others to him by a wooden cabin on a sunny Hawaiian beach. He said he had to "high jack" us or else we would not hear what he would have to say. According to him, drinking blood of a relative would enhance our powers....I was grossed out and freaked out by what he was implying and found this turning to something creepy..I told him I might get the same effect drinking my own blood – if I had to drink any!- ....after that I don't remember what happened...
I visited friends 'homes and travelled to worlds within worlds through mirrors.
The last dream was meaningful as I was experimenting with this new power and spells I had learned, but the memory of it all is fading now...

This was the experience I had 2 nights ago. I have many others where, for example, I was visited by someone i believed to have passed away and some others which were less pleasant...

Looking forward to share and discuss more with you on this :)
