I have been meditating for 2 months now in (indian style?) with legs crossed normally. I prefer to continue using this posture, maybe even dare full lotus after I find proper stretching exercises. However, right after 20 minutes, one of my feet and eventually both become completely numb. They often hurt as they 'wake'. I use a small hard pillow to sit on and a towel underneath my legs. Do you have any suggestions on improving blood flow in any way?

Welcome to Energy Body and The Chakras / NEW here!

Hi AstralPulse!

I've been coming here a lot lately, so I said why not join! I just got Astral Dynamics and I find it very interesting.
Some background: I've read two of Robert Monroe's books which has led me to work with The Gateway Experience, I am trying to have more LD, and I'm working on various projects involving dreaming. I believe in having an open mind, and well I'm interested in AP and OBE.

I've started working with NEW from Bruce's AD book and I'm finding TI and MBA to work for me well, although I have to put in lots of effort and concentration. I don't know if I'll be able to keep up with the exercises since they are very time consuming (rightfully so), and I've had a bad experience while working with the chakras so I fear working with them, especially with a method so effective. What I've been wondering is has anybody gone through or is still working on the methods provided within AD, and any success?

Just curious, why would there be anything wrong with it?

On the right edge we find endless visions of physical activity, violence, killing, sensuality. On the left edge we find spirituality, religion, God. Genrao and I walked your assemblage point to both edges, so as to give you a complete view of that human junk pile." "He assured me that even if I was able to see, I was bound to make the same misjudgement that mystics have made. Anyone who sees the mold of man automatically assumes that it is God." "[the mold of man is] a pattern of energy that serves to stamp the qualities of humanness on an amorphous blob of biological matter." "Mystics, throughout the centuries, have given us moving accounts of their experiences. But these accounts, however beautiful, are flawed by the gross and despairing mistake of believing the mold of man to be an omnipotent, omniscient creator; and so is the interpretation of the old seeres, who called the mold of man a friendly spirit, a protector of man." Don Juan/Carlos Castaneda, The Fire from Within

I'm surprised Mr. Bruce commented on Esmeralda Arana's book, as it deals mostly with sorcery and not really spirituality. What can you make of the above quote?

Nick I am planning to do the same, work with NEW and the gateway experience. I've been using them for a while now, mainly focus 3 and 10 but I cannot reach f10 especially in such a short time. They are great for relaxing, and I use them to try WILD afterwards since hemi-sync does seem to have an effect. Ultimate Journey was a great book though, and it's always good to see others' perspectives on OBE.

Good luck
Whoever's using hemi-sync, keep us posted on progress.

I guessed the password correctly on my first try..hmm kind of makes me want to read it now[:D]

I've asked my sensei and he said the purpose of crossing the legs is to restrict blood flow in order to have more to your brain, and the more you do the less of a problem you'll have with it.

thanks for the info
I will do my best to work with this.
I hope cutting blood flow for too long won't be bad for my feet and legs.

WBTB is wake back to bed, get out of bed after sleeping a few hours to wake your mind up, then fall asleep. Hopfully your body will fall asleep and your mind will still be awake. This is mostly to induce a LD although it should work for projection.
#10
Sometimes I do a WBTB and listen to Focus 10 tape, then find a good position to sleep in and begin countdown. If things go right and conditions are perfect, I will be startled a bit by vibrations or sounds while lost in HI.

I like your idea about the group effort. Through the internet it can't be hard to gather a large group (I mean lots of people) to attempt anything of the sort and perhaps see some result, but nobody seems to be interested.

Crop circles is a good idea, but it could be written off just like any other crop circle. I was thinking and came up with this: cloud formation over a highly populated city. To think of the combined PK effect required and the already-random and light cloud patterns it would seem a bit more realistic...just a suggestion.

Yes it does mess up bio clock, but it goes away after a day or two.

I've attempted WILD too many times with little success, have been able to get vibrations, hypnagogic sounds, and getting out of body by just forcing myself up while sleep paralysis held me. I ended up in a room similar to mine, couldn't find myself, so I'm guessing it was a LD just as I had expected.
Another LD I tried projecting out of dream body but nothing happened:)

wait, what's the difference between WILD and AP?

yes earplugs work too, even if they are designed to silence high db sounds
with them on you can hear your own breathing, and hearbeat sometimes
work with concentrating on your breathing and ignore your heartbeat
not sure if breathing acts like white noise with earplugs on, you can try putting a large fan beside your bed, or static on your radio/tv if you can handle that
I haven't consciously projected yet, but I do use these to help with noise

Very nice!
creepy? I sometimes get weirded out by abstract paintings. I know an artist who does abstracts and have been able to see all of his work at home (long story) but couldn't understand it. Maybe we're supposed to just feel the 'flow' of it, don't know.

Welcome Aprilb
I too would suggest Monroe's books. He gives several accounts of being tested, animal-type things getting stuck to him, and he's one of the best to describe his experiences as clean as they were. Dr. Charles Tart was impressed by his work too.

By Monroe's accounts people just thinking about pulling him OB succeeded, but he's a gifted and skilled at it already.
Why not ask him to help you out?

hi weagle, I remember you from ld4all (Pilot)
seems very interesting
let us know how it goes

SiN, what does Toronto have with this? There does seem to be a centre there, but retreats are only in Australia, if I'm not mistaken.

I'll put off NEW for summer free time but will continue trance work as I understand it is very useful in working with chakras especially while energy body is expanded. I realized the weak effect visualization has on chakras so I can put off my fear of that incident as simply without cause, as doctors told me.

Interesting you point out tertiary centers. I just found that 90-day 'program' and I guess it is something nice to glance at when I'll have more time. NEW still sounds very effective, alongside other energy work, like Mr. Bruice suggested. I'm looking to start some form of martial art but kind of hard to find something straight from the East in the form I want, especially around here.

thanks doghed,
for a while I was begining to think I posted on the wrong forum with all this 'Ki' and 'DZB', and I don't see how these topics even relate to energy development of the Astral Dynamics book.
I guess I'm on my own with this one.
