When I was first starting, I heard different kinds of strange sounds just in one ear right before I projected. You must be close!
Lowered mind activity (relaxed mind) is good. -Just not so relaxed that you fall asleep. Do you ever just take a little break from busy life by 'zoning out' - you stare into space and let your eyes blur - your mind completely relaxes - your jaw goes slack - someone comes over to you and waves their hand in front of your face and asks if there's anybody home? That feeling of your mind completely relaxing is what you're going for. Sleepiness is generally not a good thing, but having said that, you can use it as a tool to achieve the mind awake, BODY ASLEEP state quicker. Just let yourself come close to sleep (but not too close!) then wake yourself up again by refocusing a little. Then do that again...and your body will relax and 'fall asleep' quicker. It's useful if you want to project before bed (as opposed to waking from sleep) and your body isn't relaxed yet. You don't have to wait around forever in order to achieve the correct state. - 10 or 15 min. should do it. Good luck. You're doing well!
I day dream rarely now. When I was younger or at school I would space out more often. When I actually did day dream yeasterday the light flickered when I blinked and I heard the radio making the buzzing sound. Might just be my imagination tho.
I try at night. However nothing really actually happens in an hour or I lower my mind activity and fall asleep. :/
