I made two attempts this week, and nothing much happened in either of them: no vibrations, SP, or anything except a slight drifting into the "mind=awake body=asleep" state. I used my regular technique of waking up after two sleep cycles, not the phasing technique. I suppose I wasn't feeling as enthusiastic as I didn't bother repeating an affirmation and I noticed a general drop in interest and assurance in my ability to eventually get out. However, I don't believe this attitude change will be long-lived; it's more like just a short breather after the recent weeks of greater effort put into this.

I'm at a similar stage to yourself and I've enjoyed reading your accounts here.

Sometime I think a small break can allow you to return with renewed vigour - too much effort may hinder. The main thing, I think, is to keep at it in the long run and eventually......it's gonna happen  8-)

Great advice all. Thanks for the support!

Hi all,

Hoping someone can shed some light on a feeling I occasionally get, when trying to AP. I'll get pretty relaxed, into the mind awake/body asleep state and then it'll feel like I'm turning - even thought I'm lying in bed and still. I did think this was perhaps some sort of unconscious attempt at separation but I've tried letting it do it's thing but to no avail. It just becomes uncomfortable and I'll get up.

Any ideas?

Please note - this is in the UK.

Hi guys,

I'm in the process of setting up some meetings of a new local chapter of TMI in South Wales. Our first meeting is on the 8th December in Bridgend - meetings 2nd Monday of each month thereafter.
It's completely free, all that's required is an open mind and a willingness to support others in their consciousness exploration.

It'd be great if some folks from AP could also attend.

If anyone is interested, here's the link to register your attendance - http://www.meetup.com/South-Wales-Consciousness-Exploration-Group/

While it'll probably start of going down a Hemi-Sync route, it'll be down to the group how we wish to move forward together.

Look forward to seeing you guys  8-)

Thanks

I've experienced this and had hypnotic regression, many years later, to try and find out what happened as, after seeing the figure standing over my bed, it touched me and then I had some missing time. The hypnotist ended up having a conversation with this entity - channeled through me. It said it came to observe me now and again. Nothing evil or malicious in its intentions.  It also said it was multidimensional...

Interesting topic for discussion...

If all matter is conscious then how does the coming together of those materials (on conception of life) become a "greater" consciousness (self awareness and so on).

If time is part of physical reality and that's a manifestation of consciousness then beginnings and ends are only applicable to the reality thought has created.

Perhaps in a purely spiritual realm there is no time. No beginning and no end.

You're stuck on labels.

Just think of a projection as any experience you have in a reality which you recognize as not being this physical reality.
Now obviously you want to be aware while you're having that experience... but that doesn't matter.

And to bring a bit more confusion to this: This physical reality experience you're having right now is ALSO a projection.  :)

Where does the projection end? Where is reality....?

Trying to get a handle on this....

Does it feel like pressure at the back of the eyes?

Yep, these are known as "shadow people" and I've been researching them for a while after such an experience (without red eyes) myself for a novel I'm writing. There's lots on the web about them. What they are - I have no idea, but lots of people experience this.

Sounds like a James Bond intro style experience  :-D

How exciting! You should give us a review when you're done in September.  May I ask what it was that first piqued your interest in AP/OoBEs?

Can do.

I think I stumbled across Bruce Moen's "afterlife knowledge" website back in the late 90s.  Then moved on to Bob Monroe's books. Since then I've had episodes of interest but never the sticking power to keep up the time and effort required. However, there's been a recent change in me over the last few months and I've gotten some discipline and motivation in abundance  8-)

Thanks dude. I've got the Gateway series. Will it do any harm to listen to that leading up until the course? Could I learn bad habits which will get in the way of the course being helpful?

I've once experienced SP - was totally unrelated to me trying to AP or anything like that. Woke up with a shadow figure next to me, I went into a panic but couldn't move and then it reached down and touched me on the forehead - which felt very cold. Next thing I know, some time had passed but I had no recollection of what had occured but the figure had gone.

That was about 20 years ago. About 4 years ago I had regressive hypnosis to try and find out what happened in that missing time period. Didn't find it out but the hypnotherapist managed to have a length conversation with the entity (through me) which was very interesting and I'm so glad I asked for it to be recorded!

Product of an overactive imagination and a malfunction of the brain or a bonafide entity - I've no idea but it's very interesting.

Hi all,

I'm soon (in 3 months) due to attend a UK based Excursion weekend workshop with the UK branch of the Monroe Institute. Can anyone give me any pointers on how I am best to spent those 3 months in preparation to ensure I can get the best out of this workshop?

Hi all,

I've had an interest in AP/OOBE for some time and periodically get interested before giving up too easily and getting my head into other stuff. Well, this time I'm in it for the long run and have just booked onto a Monroe Institute UK course. That will taker place in Sept so I'm trying to get ahead of the game instead of waiting on that course to happen.

Thought I'd be best to get involved in the wider web community and immerse myself totally in the subject and get chatting with those who have good experience.

I'm 35 and from the UK, originally from Scotland but living in Wales.

Thanks

Welcome to Dreams! / Tree Face
June 29, 2014, 10:13:05
Recently had a dream where I was looking in a mirror and noticed I had some weird stuff on my face - a bit like a small patch of moss. As I pulled it off, I noticed some twigs sticking out of my face. Each time I removed these, more would appear. In culminated with a small tree stump which I had to prise off the top of my head.

Throughout, I was a little concerned about pulling stuff off, as I thought it might hurt but it never did - despite these twigs/stump being part of my skin. When I pulled them off, there was healthy skin beneath and no mark left.
