Well, it's totally up to you... if it feels right, then it must be right for you... I'd remove or cover them before going to bed.

Guys, not directly related, but in general, one should never have a mirror in the bedroom, or any reflective surfaces (like TV or monitor and such) or at least they should be covered before going to bed. The thing is, they obstruct/redirect normal energy flow in the room. Especially if they are old (used by other ppl before you or damaged/scratched) they will emit what they have seen in the past... Mirrors are very strong energy manipulating tools and it is quite important how you use/place them... I would advise to leave it outside your bedroom, you can always go and look into it.

I agree with everything said... Just an idea, though - when I started to meditate I felt similarly lost in the sense of not knowing if I was doing it right and how it should feel like. I was lucky enough to have ppl around me who were far more experienced to talk to. But, the biggest advancement I made after a karma diagnostics session (assisted/guided meditation, where the therapist helps you get into a deep meditative/relaxed state and trance). From that point on, after some basic breathing, I was always able to enter deep meditative state quickly and easily just by remembering the state/sensation/feeling of it and switching off my mind.

I read somewhere desire is the key and I agree. One must know what she/he wants to achieve and why (not necessarily rationally). I also find that any kind of problem just indicates something you need to work on in your physical realm - try to analyze the reasons for the blockage. I often found that such problems were linked to somewhat distorted self-image (usually a wrong or 'bettered' perception of myself). Good luck!

Coming from a person with no actual experience in achieving AP intentionally, I'd say you tuned in with your son's dream (most likely lucid) or in other words received his telepathic message. I believe we have a better access to our non-physical properties and abilities in our preschool age, that is, before we progressively start taking in society related concepts of any kind (social, moral, ethical, religious etc.) as they tend to create mental patterns we uncritically adopt as 'higher truths'... So, my guess would be you had a vivid dream during which your son managed to establish communication with you. I recently read the Frank Kepple resource (http://www.astralpulse.com/frankkepple.html) which gave me another view on AP/OOB and provided quite some information I relate to easier, as I consider myself more connected with his way of thinking and interpreting things... There's another page I find useful: http://brain.web-us.com/lucid/luciddreamingFAQ.htm and don't forget the Dream FAQ (linked at the top of the page).

Did you try to ask your son why he wanted you to wake up? Might be interesting to hear...

Thx guys... figured that... after the first time I worked on my sacral chakra and the anchor moved... the funny thing is, that both are actually overactive, so balancing is the answer...

As for slowing down - it really is not up to me how fast it goes, it just happens on its own. I could only block it, but that's hardly the point, is it? ;-)

Greeting, all... I've been reading through the posts for a couple of days now and gathered bits and pieces I needed, but still...

Bit of history first: I remember my first OBE when I was seven or eight floating under the ceiling looking down at myself in a hospital before I woke up from anesthesia... I also had quite some lucid dreams in my time... all this was not conssioussly induced, though... some years back I had the opportunity to play with a mind machine used for neurolinguistic teaching at work - couldn't get enough of it, yet I don't remember if i ever had any deeper experience during those experiences... I have been intensely working on myself and my awareness during the last two years for selfhealing purposes and learning about my inner self...

My first intentional OBE attempt (a week ago) brought me straight to intense vibes quite easily through meditation, feeling my astral self struggling to exit the physical body but failing every time as i felt anchored somewhere in the region of the sacral chakra, causing a sensation like being V-shaped, including involuntary raising of my upper body, head and shoulders in particular. My mind was to focused on the physical sensations and observing the process to even have a real chance to go any further. All in all, i was extremely pleased with the achievement and it was a very satisfying experience, resulting in extremely high energy and inner happiness levels the following couple of days.

My second try changed situation a bit, the anchor moved to the throat area, resulting in eventual gasp for air and causing something like a badly sore throat feeling. Gasping for air subsided the vibes, but they just kept coming and i eventually felt to exhausted (after four hours or so) that I made myself get out of bed and walk around the house. For a while I had equilibrium problems as my body wanted to wave (forcing me to swing back and forth) and I had to grab on to something to prevent falling at some point. I had trouble opening my eyes completely and had to force it open. After a while things calmed down and i went to sleep.

The next day i felt ungrounded throughout the day and found i extremely difficult to function in the physical world, so i grounded myself through meditation and things got better, I actually got some things done. Going to bed, seriously too late, the vibes just came on their own, so i had very little time to perform my grounding/protection ritual, my body went numb and paralised almost on its own and the previous night's story started to repeat with some new phenomena like beeps in my left ear. I felt my astral body trying to get out in a number of ways (i tried to use rope technique, almost succeeded, dropped and then decided to let myself to try any other exit method) - rising slowly like a cloud/mist, rolling out on the side, sitting up is what I felt is being tried. I didn't try this at my will, I just let things unwrap. The throat thing happened again, and something similar in the area of third eye in the final stage, although I felt a surge of energy coming out of it after some time. I also noticed I was able to become more detached and passive during the process, more an observer that an active participant.

Now to my question - I remember reading a short post on the throat issue but can't seem to find it again... can anybody provide more input on that or direct me?

And, yes, of course i get all the other symptoms like heart pounding, cramps, sufficcating sensations, twitches, extreme vibes, low liquid vibes in all directions, involuntary movements of my body, body sinking, floating, and so forth. I just don't seem to be able to completely separate.

And a word to people experimenting with psychedelic drugs and alcohol - especially pot seem to block me, after smoking I tend to fade to sleep, not remembering dreams or any other occurrences, so my advice would be not to use it. As for alcohol, after my first try I feel the need to stay away from it and even a beer with friends after workout doesn't appeal to me any more, I rather have some tea or something. Also, I tend to drink extreme amounts of water, eat significantly more fruit then before and generally have to make myself eat at least one square meal in a day.
